Church of SS Peter & Paul...
...is certainly the convention and all churches I have ever come across dedicated to both Peter and Paul have used the above format. Basically, SS stands for "Saints".--Vox Humana 8' 13:34, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't think it stood for Sailing Ship - answered on the other fellow's talk page. HeartofaDog 22:44, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- SS is conventional: the St. Peter & St. Paul dedication is used very rarely, not even by churches of this dedication. Also, given that there is no Wikipedia guideline on this subject, I cannot cite one. Also, many people will be aware that there is a Catholic cathedral in Birmingham but will be unaware of its dedication: therefore, the title I have given its article is more helpful and is also more conventional: in most cases I have seen, the titling of cathedral articles where there are two in the same city follows the "City Anglican Cathedral" or "City C. E. Cathedral" and "City R. C. Cathedral".--Vox Humana 8' 11:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Also, who said anything about blanking talk pages? It is not something I do, although a user is entirely within their rights to remove redundant messages: for example, messages about a block which has expired can be removed.--Vox Humana 8' 11:13, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

A small suggestion...
...regarding your signature. I think it would be helpful to other users wanting to contact you if you were to change your signature to something along the following lines: "HeartofaDog (talk • contribs)", which would come out as follows: "HeartofaDog (talk • contribs)". You can copy this straight into the Signature box of your preferences, but, to make it work, you need to check the Raw Signature tick box below it.--Vox Humana 8' 11:25, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

I did the Italian ones, but lost heart at the sight of the French list. Have you had any, er, negative feedback, btw? Johnbod 23:12, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Tag of notability for Theophile Bruguier
Hi,
You tagged Theophile Bruguier as possibly non notable [1]. I put some more info on the talk page. Let me know what you think. If you still think it is not notable, let me know.
Hello. Why wikifying is needed in Jan Zaleski article? Visor 23:25, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- It doesn't - now. I did it myself but forgot to take the tag off. tThanks for pointing it out. HeartofaDog (talk • contribs) 10:19, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Imperial Abbeys / Former Countries infobox
That seems like a perfectly reasonable compromise. If working on Reichsklosters is something you're planning on doing, I can certainly leave all those infoboxes until you have created the articles.
Also yes, I'm aware I got a few coats of arms wrong; I'm being a bit more careful about that now.
Sorry about not having got back to you on the talk: page yet; it's been one of those weeks at work, so I've been leaving it until I had time to breathe and think. But yeah, I do think you're right on most of your points. No danger of an edit war, don'worry *GRIN*
Regarding the font size of the list, I'm not sure the list should be full size in a single column (in IE, at least) — it takes up a lot of vertical space whilst leaving shedloads of whitespace. Can we make the font size a little smaller without going quite as far as I did? Is there space for a compromise on that issue too?
All suggestions welcome :o) — OwenBlacker 12:52, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Re compromise: absolutely; we're all just trying to make this a better encyclopædia, after all.
- Awesome, I'll leave all the abbeys for now then. If you want to put the infobox on yourself, if you set the
status
toAbbey
and theempire
toHoly Roman Empire
then the rest is pretty obvious. Of course, if you can't be bothered, then drop me a note when you're done and I'll go through Category:Imperial abbeys ;o) - Yeah, please do feel free to remove any actually-wrong coats of arms. Whilst I prefer the infobox to have a coat of arms in it, it's obviously better to have no CoA than a wrong one. Any that are easy to amend, lemme know and I'll see what I can do with Photoshop or Inkscape.
- Yeah, I've been moving long comments into

tag footnotes in lists like that, which makes sense, I think. - All sounds good to me :o) — OwenBlacker 15:01, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Using the infobox
If you don't know the exact start or end year, put the century in as the year_start
or year_end
, then use date_start
or date_end
to be as specific as you know and add a life_span
with the same details. So you might end up with something like
{{Infobox Former Country ... |status = Abbey |empire = Holy Roman Empire |government_type = Theocracy | |year_start = 12th century |year_end = 1803 |life_span = 1170s – 1803 | |event_pre = Abbey founded |date_pre = 1153 |event_start = Gained Reichsfreiheit |date_start = 1170s ... |event_end = Mediatised to Baden |date_end = <!--- Optional: Date of disestablishment --->
That way, the category gets set to the century, but the version actually displayed always shows the more-specific one. (The only thing to be careful of is the year_end
, which checks for states lasting beyond 1806 that were part of the HRE. Gimme a yell here, if you need.)
Also, I forgot to mention, if you look at Strasbourg, you'll see how we handle articles about former states on language boundaries — we add all the appropriate languages (within reason, Austria-Hungary only shows German and Hungarian, for example) in alphabetical order of ISO 639 code. If you get any abbeys where German wouldn't've been the primary language (or isn't now, even if it was then, such as in Alsace), could you add more than one language (or flag it up for me on my Talk: page and I'll take a look), please?
Thank you so much for doing this; it's very much appreciated! — OwenBlacker 17:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- How very curious; it really doesn't like uncertain end dates, does it? Sorry about that.
- I'm pasting in the one I originally wrote on the article Stein am Rhein, as the longevity details are a bit more accurate — the start and end dates are those of the entity being a state, rather than its existence. So any time before an Abbey gained Reichsfreiheit or after secularisation doesn't get included there.
- Sorry, I'm not explaining all of this very well, am I? Good effort on the infobox, though :o) — OwenBlacker 17:52, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Bugger, I didn't realise it was about the town. Reading the text of the article — both the English and German —, it looks like it's about the abbey and that the Reichsfrei abbey was responsible for the town too, no? — OwenBlacker 18:03, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's the year-end field checking against 1806. I didn't realise the logic was quite so flaky, though. I'll see if I can find a better way to get that logic working. — OwenBlacker 18:07, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Aaah, I see. I thought the town had been a territory of the abbey. Sorry! — OwenBlacker —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 18:10, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Stein am Rhein
The way to make forward progress to fix things that are wrong, not throw away the content that you think is in a bad place. There's a list of abbey's article linking to this page for that info. If you'd rather see it in a separate article, you propose a split, or just do it. Dicklyon 17:20, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

WP Cheeses
It's good you are doing something with the project as it was tagged for possible deletion and I removed the tag and rebuilt the main page. I've noticed you have been tagging cheese pages as well. As for Caprino (cheese), just make sure you don't just remove the tag and do nothing with the article because as is it would actually be a candidate for speedy deletion as it tells nothing of the cheese. The description as it is is so vague that it could be the definition for any goat's milk cheese of Italy.--Chef Christopher Allen Tanner, CCC 13:35, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- I was planning on placing rating systems on all of the Food and Drink sub-projects, perhaps later this week as for the next few days I am swamped with class work until Thursday night. If you have any questions on food and drink feel free to ask me and I'm sure I can help.--Chef Christopher Allen Tanner, CCC 16:57, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- I know you said you've been translating info from the Italian version for the Caprino cheese article, but honestly the article is still just about goat's cheese. I've been reading up on Caprino and it is a singular cheese which has significance and perhaps we should get some info on there about that cheese and not just goat cheese in general. Much of the info on there should be removed as it isn't about Caprino itself at all.--Chef Christopher Allen Tanner, CCC 15:41, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Hours of Catherine of Cleves
Thank you for the welcome. I've been feeling my way around for a couple months doing picky, little things. Then, I decided I wanted to write something interesting. I have a small collection of illuminated manuscript facsimiles, so I decided to do book reviews on all of them. I'm glad you enjoyed my first article on The Hours. My next article will feature the Grandes Heures de Rohan, also called The Rohan Master.
I would like to request help in creating multiple references, references that are used a number of times within the article. I could not get them to work for The Hours, so I superscripted the reference numbers. Please, let me know how I can make them work. Many thanks ahead of time. Rapunzelina 19:14, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

The deletion of the page Death Mattress
Hi,
I've just posted my reasons against the deletion of the page mentioned. Please read it over and get back to me.
Highest Regards -Snoops619
- I'm sorry but I beg to differ as it is not just the one youth group but, as stated in the article, it reached about 200 people at this youth event from up and down the country. I respect that it doesn't mean anything to you but to others who witnessed the game, it is a special memory. I'm very sorry that the tone of this is negative because you seem to be a respectable wikipedian, and I see your concern that this is pointless stupidity (which to a certain extent it is.), however it isn't stupid to those who participated.—Preceding unsigned comment added by User:Snoops619 (talk • contribs)
- Well I did read that and it seemed to me to fit in (even if just barely), however I respect that you feel it is not notable. Snoops619 —Preceding comment was added at 21:53, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

George Cross outline page
Hi there, I've set up a skeleton for producing GC articles here. If you copy and paste the text into a GC article, then drop in the content, it will produce an article formatted something like Bennett Southwell. It will do as well for newly created or existing articles and I'll try to fit it into some of the existing ones. If you have any comments, additions or suggestions please add them to the page. I'm posting this onto the user talk pages of Nick mallory, DuncanHill, Wolvereness, RHB, Woodym555, Hammer1980,David Underdown and HeartofaDog. If any of you would like to change the skeleton, please go ahead and do so! I am fairly new to Wikipedia and have probably made some gross errors. If you want to discuss any of this (and have the rest of this group see your discussion) maybe we could discuss it on the talk page for the skeleton article? Need help with suspected vandalism
Greetings,
It's the newbie, again. I created an article on the illuminated manuscript The Rohan Hours. Technically, the book is in print as The Rohan Master, but that is also the name of the illuminator. Someone came along and changed the book title to Rohan Hours and created a redirect, claiming the article violated MOS (Manual of Style?). However, Rudyard Kipling's book is listed as The Jungle Book, not Jungle Book, so how does the MOS apply to book titles?
How do I undo all the damage this person did, undo the redirect, and return the article to the name I selected for the book? Or, should I create a new article under it's published title, The Rohan Master? Any explanations, recommendations, and help are appreciated. Many thanks ahead of time.Rapunzelina (talk) 16:29, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
