TSL Infoboxes
Hi @Hey man im josh. Curious to hear your thoughts on TSL accolades being added to players' infoboxes? I notice a few players have these accolades in their infoboxesa and others do not. For example, Ryan Willis has TSL MVP 2021- but Bryan Scott does not. I brought up this topic - (here), but no one has responded. I feel as though any TSL awards/accomplishments should be added to these players' pages, as well-established + reliable sources have credited these players and their earned achievements on national television, as well as on the internet worldwide. I can provide examples as well if needed. Again, just want to give credit where credit is due. Would appreciate any insight and help here! Thanks! Vitaminwaterzero0 (talk) 19:01, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Personally I'm against it @Vitaminwaterzero0. It's essentially a minor / casual league. I'm okay with it being mentioned in the article, that's appropriate, but I feel as though it unnecessarily crowds an infobox. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:03, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input @Hey man im josh. I responded to you on the NFL page you responded to. Again- I just want to make sure these guys are receiving the appropriate recognition. Vitaminwaterzero0 (talk) 19:30, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
Mary Montgomerie Lamb Currie
Hi. You declined this (after I had created it) but is it not a redirect to a pseudonym? Or am I missing something? Ingratis (talk) 18:20, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Ingratis: I declined it because the request they made was a combination of the literary pseudonym (Lady Mary Montgomerie Currie) and their maiden name (Lamb). Not a big deal that you created it anyways, but I thought it to be unlikely. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:24, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Oh OK - thanks! I'll have my eye in soon so shouldn't need to keep troubling you. All best, Ingratis (talk) 21:58, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Ingratis: it's no trouble at all. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort and starting discussion is important. Even the most experienced users still ask for second opinions. Hey man im josh (talk) 23:24, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

- @LordVoldemort728: Just those two and another page I had already fixed. Sorry about that, thanks for bringing these to my attention!
- As for creating redirects, these were created based on requests at WP:AFC/R and processed with Enterprisey's AFCRHS script. There is a script for mass creating redirects, which I haven't tested, here. Beyond that, I don't script my redirect creations. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:23, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Redirection
Hello dear, I hope you are having a great time, I saw the change you made in the redirection, I wanted to tell you that the contest called Miss Teen International in Ecuador started in 2014 as Miss Teenager International, the others were never called that way. I appreciate you helping me reverting the change, have a blessed day. Yahsabaot (talk) 14:41, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Yahsabaot: From some searches, it appears that Miss Teenager International is actually an ambiguous term used by several competitions. There's no real reason it shouldn't point to a disambiguation page that helps people figure out which of the relevant pages they're looking for. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:03, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi dude, just replying about your message about the opinion thing on the f1-22 page and I have to say that it is a public opinion that many people have made complaints about and feel is incorrect, I want people to know what the public and majority think about this game and help them make their decision or not to whether it should have positive or negative reviews, I am merely putting in the facts, thank Jtee09 Jtee09 (talk) 15:40, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- You need to keep it neutral when you edit @Jtee09. Our opinions need to be put to the wide when we edit and describing something as "greatly loved" is adding a non-neutral point of view in this context. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:42, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

- I've pointed to multiple policies that are relevant, but I wanted to also point to the neutral point of view guideline. Simply put, you can push all you want but if you continue to add non-neutral opinions and content to articles then you will likely end up blocked. You are welcome to ask for a second opinion at the WP:Teahouse. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:02, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Dr Arif Akbar Khan".
Hello @Hey man im josh Can you please elaborate what exact changes are needed to my article.
All the information is completely correct. Do I need to correct any information that I added to my wiki page. Dr Arif Akbar Khan (talk) 07:58, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, Dr Arif Akbar Khan. You seem to have a misunderstanding of the purpose of a Wikipedia user page. It is to describe your accomplishments, plans and goals as a Wikipedia editor. It is not to post your professional Curriculum vitae, and it most certainly is not supposed to be a mock encycledia article. Autobiographies are strongly discouraged. Your revert of deletion of personal attack by ෆාට් බුබුල
Why did you revert this deletion of the following comment by User:ෆාට් බුබුල?
Just because right wingers bitch and moan about left wing bias all the time doesn't make it true.
Review WP:TALK, in particular WP:TALKNO. User:ෆාට් බුබුල is personally attacking other users, not to mention an entire demographic, by claiming that they're "bitching and moaning" for raising an NPOV concern on a talk page. That's clearly unacceptable behavior, and a clear violation of WP:TALKNO. 2601:547:500:2090:15EF:937B:6523:C87C (talk) 23:30, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- The diff you are linking is not a personal attack in any way whatsoever. See WP:NPA. I would have put it back as well. That doesn't mean it is particularly useful, but we don't remove comments based on our subjective opinion of their utility. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 23:34, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Dennis Brown: To be clear, you're claiming that stating on talk pages that other users or [insert demographic] are "bitching and moaning about X all the time" in no way violates Wikipedia's policies? Are you willing to stand behind that claim? 2601:547:500:2090:15EF:937B:6523:C87C (talk)
- Speaking from experience as both an editor and administrator, I am saying that is commenting on someone's actions, not on the individual. Personal attacks are comments that speak directly to the individual ("he is an asshat, a punk, a nazi") and not comments that speak to individuals actions ("He is being disruptive, is whining too much, is bitching and moaning"). It might be a bit rude, but isn't a personal attack as we define it here at Wikipedia. As for "standing behind my claim", that is a rather silly question. (See what I did? I called your question silly, not you. It's not a personal attack. But it is a silly rhetorical question.) Dennis Brown - 2¢ 23:44, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Dennis Brown: So it's acceptable, in your view, to claim other Wikipedia users are "bitching and moaning" for raising NPOV concerns? And it's also acceptable, in your view, to claim that an entire demographic is "bitching and moaning about X all the time" on talk pages? 2601:547:500:2090:15EF:937B:6523:C87C (talk) 23:51, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- It's certainly not productive, but it's not a personal attack. I'd also like to mention that, per WP:TPO, we should not be refactoring other's comments. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:29, 14 April 2023 (UTC)

Category:FA Cup final players
Hi Josh, renaming to "Category:FA Cup final players" has gone through, but it looks wrong to me, as if these were final players for an FA Cup.
"Category:FA Cup finals" may be right, but the players played in a FA Cup Final.
Going further to "Category:FA cup final players" also looks wrong. I think the renaming should be reversed, along with referees and venues. – Fayenatic London 09:21, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Fayenatic london: What about "Category:FA Cup finals players" instead? FA Cup Final is capitalized, but based on a recent move discussion, the pages for the individual years (listed at Category:FA Cup finals) are not. So based on that, I thought it best to lowercase the word final in the categories as well. I agree with you about "Category:FA cup final players", I don't want "cup" to become lowercase in any of this, I'm just focused on the capitalization and plurality of the word "final".
- I've been taking it slow to give a chance for people to oppose, but I've been trying to clean up categories and titles within Category:Association football finals. Do you have concerns just about the FA Cup categories, or do does it go beyond that? Hey man im josh (talk) 11:52, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- When a noun phrase is used as an adjective, it does not get pluralised, e.g. we don't have "Association footballs finals". So "Category:FA Cup finals players" is not right either.
- A cup final is a final of the FA Cup, so only Cup needs to be capitalised in that name. However, a cup final player is someone who played in an "FA Cup Final" – i.e. the noun phrase that defines him is "FA Cup Final", so all of that is one proper noun, therefore all those words should be capitalised. The same goes for referees and venues. I think the only other ones are FIFA and FIFA Women's World Cup finals match officials.
- If you agree, I can just reverse those five summarily. – Fayenatic London 16:58, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Fayenatic london: Once you pointed out how one could read "FA Cup final players" as the final players of the cup, it made sense to me that this was not the best category title, so I'm supportive of moving the category elsewhere. I'm struggling with the capitalization of "FA Cup Final" itself though. To me, the category name of "FA Cup Final players" implies that the proper name does include a capitalization of final but that's not in line with the result of the previous move discussion (though I see that FA Cup was left out of that discussion). So I'm having a bit of difficulty wrapping my head around the differences in capitalization still, which I'm sorry for. I understand what you're saying and the point you're trying to make, but the inconsistency between FA Cup Final and the individual year pages is what's causing my brain to feel like it's stuck in a logic loop here.
- I've made a number of requests for the capitalization of "Finals" to shift to "finals" for category names in Category:Association football finals. Just so that I'm crystal clear, you don't have an issue with the rest of my requests at WP:CFD/S? I want to make the category and its pages more consistent but I've put it on hold based on this discussion. If it's just about the categories related to FA Cup then that's fine, but I want to know if I should be changing my approach to a wider set of articles and categories. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:31, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- I'm fine with all the "Foo Cup finals" categories. It's just the "Foo Cup Final bars" that I think should have a capital in Final. I've only spotted 5 of those: 3 based on FA Cup Final and 2 based on World Cup Final. – Fayenatic London 17:52, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Fayenatic london: Ok great, fair enough. Based on your explanation and experience, I'll concede. Please do feel free to move the categories to where you feel is best, I won't contest the moves in any way. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:01, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. In fact there are 6 such grandchild categories of Association football finals: 3 based on FA Cup Final, 2 based on World Cup Final (which should also be de-pluralised), and Welsh Cup final venues.
- I may need to take some of these to a full CFD. – Fayenatic London 18:05, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry about that and for creating extra work for you. I always work to make sure I don't make the same mistake again, so hopefully that's the last of it. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:06, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hey, no apology needed! I do look at CFD/Speedy, but it's been so full lately that I did not spot these issues in time to oppose the first renames. – Fayenatic London 18:09, 18 April 2023 (UTC)

Query
Hello, Hey man im josh,
Hey, Josh, what are you doing next Tuesday during the 18:00-19:00 UTC hour? If you look at the upcoming G13 soon list for that day, we have over 400 drafts expiring during that hour! I usually edit Wikipedia at that time but I will be at the hospital where my mother will be undergoing surgery. She's in her 90s so every surgery at that age is pretty serious.
I know it's a big ask but do you think you'd have time to review and tag this huge pile of drafts? They usually get deleted quickly once they appear in a CSD category but someone needs to go through them. You'll add hundreds of new entries on your CSD log but I can't promise any other reward. I've posted at the editor's page who did this AWB-facilitated mass editing so there might be some intervention before next week but right now it looks like one exceptionally busy hour surrounded by lots of very normal hours in the day. Just thought I'd give you a head's up in case you could help out here. Thanks for all of your help on the project. Liz Read! Talk! 03:27, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- In case you have any talk page stalkers who want to help out next Tuesday, please remember to post a notification on the talk page of the draft creator when you tag the draft. That's what really matters to me and Josh does it perfectly. Liz Read! Talk! 03:31, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Liz: What am I doing? It sounds like I'll be tagging pages for G13 on Tuesday between 18:00-19:00 UTC. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother, I understand how stressful and serious that can be. This isn't a big ask at all so don't even worry about it, I'll take care of it =) Hey man im josh (talk) 16:10, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- It looks like they're made an edit on most (all?) of the pages that were updated in that time frame. Guess it's not going to require as much attention! Hey man im josh (talk) 19:23, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I just spot-checked a few and it looks like they have been delayed another 6 months...so, I guess we will be going through this all again on
April 12, 2024October 12, 2023! If you want to check a few, that's fine but this hobby shouldn't cause stress or take over your life. Any drafts that weren't edited will show up on that nights User:SDZeroBot/G13 eligible list and we can handle them then. More importantly, I've asked BD2412 to not use AWB to edit drafts...doing mass minor edits with that editing tool is how we ended up with over 400 drafts expiring over the same few minutes. As I'm sure you have noticed, when the draft creators are brand new editors many drafts aren't edited after they are created, so any mass edit will likely be the last edit to the page and determine the future expiration date. We've had some uses of AWB on drafts but it has typically resulted in a group of 40-70 drafts expiring at the same time, never hundreds. I've met to talk to other editors using AWB but it's hard to criticize an editor who has good intentions and is trying to improve drafts. Luckily, I've only run into this happening a few times over the course of a year. If it was happening more frequently, I'd be more pro-active. - Any way, thanks for all of your help and your willingness to take this problem on. Looks like we'll deal with it in another 6 months! - I understand why BD2412 did that but it does cause a bit of a log jam when G13 time comes. Similarly, as you said, when other AWB mass edit drafts. Their hearts are usually in the right place, so I usually just shrug it off.
- Of course, happy to help! Future me problems, those are my favourite. Hey man im josh (talk) 11:56, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- Turns out that I had a lot of time on my hands in the hospital waiting room. But I didn't check out any of those 420 drafts. Unfortunately, I'm editing on my phone, which I hate (no cut and pasting comments or links) but I can still do basic admin/editor tasks. Surgery went well for a person of her age. I'll be happy when we get her home. Take care. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Liz (talk • contribs) 20:25, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- I'm glad to hear it went well, I always feel like I can finally breath again after people come out. Luckily nothing ended up coming up on User:SDZeroBot/G13 eligible, so I think BD2412 didn't miss any when updating the drafts. Hey man im josh (talk) 11:56, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

- Yes, I just spot-checked a few and it looks like they have been delayed another 6 months...so, I guess we will be going through this all again on
- It looks like they're made an edit on most (all?) of the pages that were updated in that time frame. Guess it's not going to require as much attention! Hey man im josh (talk) 19:23, 12 April 2023 (UTC)

2023 Pan American Racquetball Championships
Thank you for reviewing this article that I created. It's now been nominated for deletion, which I find ridiculous, especially as it's the qualifying event for the 2023 Pan American Games. If you could comment on that nomination - hopefully in favor of keeping it - I'd appreciate it. I've added references to non-primary sources, which I guess the lack of them was the basis for the nomination, so hopefully that will appease the nominator and maintain its status as an article on significant event. Thanks again. Trb333 (talk) 03:42, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Trb333: You should not be asking users to come and vote to keep your article, it's against policy. Please read over WP:CANVASSING. Standard practice for the New Page Patrol team is to mark articles sent to AfD as reviewed, as they're effectively undergoing a community review. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:16, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

Deletion tag on Tamal Hadiul
You reviewed the page even after the page had a deletion tag. A user added this tag unnecessarily, but now the page has been properly corrected. Should the deletion tag be removed now? Olafrozen (talk) 13:15, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Olafrozen: Standard practice for the New Page Patrol team is to mark articles sent to AfD as reviewed, as they're effectively undergoing a community review which means members of the team should not spend time reviewing the page. You cannot remove this type of deletion once it's been placed. The discussion at AfD must be allowed to play out. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:28, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- But the discussion page has been freezed. The user who added this tag he/she is also absent from the show, he is not giving any decision. What to do in this situation? An important page cannot be left for a long time by putting unnecessary deletion tags. Olafrozen (talk) 13:42, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Olafrozen: The user who nominated the page is not the one who makes any decision, they are the one who opened the discussion for community input. The discussion at AfD is meant to last for a full 7 days to give users a chance to weight in before someone, usually an admin, will close the discussion with a decision (see overview of the AfD deletion process here). You must not remove the AfD notice, per WP:EDITATAFD. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:50, 24 April 2023 (UTC)

Need Help
Hello Josh, Can you hep me improve the page Nasrat Khalid, that I added a few days ago, it is is being considered for deletion. I spent a lot of time in writing and editing that page. Keepcalmail (talk) 06:11, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Meyami Rural District in Meyami County
I fear one of my redirects may have gone terribly wrong. I intended to move Meyami Rural District (Semnan Province) to Meyami Rural District (Meyami County). Autofill made me go to Meyami Rural District (Miami County) before I realized the mistake. I love Miami, but I don't want it to have this piece of real estate. So I tried to make it better and perhaps failed. The page is correctly titled now, but I'm not sure how to make the Meyami Rural District (Miami County) go away. I'm sorry for the trouble, but thanks for doing a lot of speedy work on my contributions over the last few months. Brightkingdom (talk) 18:14, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- It's no trouble at all @Brightkingdom. In situations like this where I've made a similar mistake I'll usually add an A7 CSD tag (with a note that it was a typo) to the page. Are you familiar with CSD tagging, or would you want me to do it for you? Hey man im josh (talk) 18:18, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- I've only read about it recently, and I haven't added it to my editing brain, thinking, "Why would I need that? I'm really careful." Gulp. If you could do me a solid and tag it for me, and take a moment to explain what you did, that would be great. So sorry to butt in on your busy day. Thanks again! Brightkingdom (talk) 18:32, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Brightkingdom, it's no bother at all. It's hard to know everything on Wikipedia and I'm a believer that helping others has a net positive ripple effect. I use WP:Twinkle for my CSD tagging, but in this case, the tag that I added was {{db-author}}. I included the
rationale
parameter before the closing bracket to explain that it was a request on my talk page, as I'm not actually the author, and pointed to the dif where you asked me to tag it. Here's the dif with my edit where I tagged the page (while it's still live). Hey man im josh (talk) 18:43, 25 April 2023 (UTC)- Much appreciated. Yes, the db author was a good move, but I was worried it might break something. Thanks again for your clean and quick solution. Happy spring, and good luck with your eternal backlogs. Brightkingdom (talk) 18:53, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- The db author technically breaks the redirect while it's applied. But I did also change the target of Meyami Rural District (Semnan Province) here so that nothing would be broken. It was the only page pointing to the redirect that I nominated. Thanks, you too! Hey man im josh (talk) 18:56, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Smassis/Nelda lee
Hello Hey man im josh. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Smassis/Nelda lee, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A10: Part of a wikiedu assignment, and clearly meant to be a userspace draft. Hey Josh, while usually omitting the "state" from the title would be correct, in this case the body's name is "Oregon State Senate". "State" is not in the titles of the corresponding House articles because the House is just "Oregon House of Representatives". Heavy Water (talk • contribs) 15:45, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

Thank you!
... for reviewing all those #Redirect articles. I honestly don't know how many of them will ever be used... but, as with many other redirects, they're there just in case someone searches for those alternative/inflected names first, to save them repeated varying searches.
Question, by the way: "Hajdučka Republika Mijata Tomića" got deleted, or rather, merged/redirected into "Blidinje plateau#Hajdučka Republika Mijata Tomića", for 'lack of [documented] notability'. I was starting to look at what hadn't been but could be successfully made RS citations — somewhat disadvantaged by my not being a native reader of Croatian, Bosnian, or Serbian (the sources' languages) — when the original page died. I'd love to keep working on the article in draftspace, possibly under my userpage, to try to meet the notability requirements... but I don't want to just copy-and-paste the text, thus losing the previous editors' credits. Is it possible to copy the full file (credits/history included) either to "Draft:Hajdučka Republika Mijata Tomića" or to "User:.Raven/Draft:Hajdučka Republika Mijata Tomića"? Or else move it, and create a new redirect in its place? The version I'd need, the last before its being turned into a redirect, is [3] for the article; and the still-existing current version [4] for its talkpage.
Please let me know about whatever options I have. Thanks again! – .Raven .talk 23:42, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @.Raven: No problem, thank YOU for putting the effort in to create those redirects!
- So your concern is focused on preserving the page history (a good concern, which I personally appreciate). It's a good question, but there's no way to duplicate the page history, you can only ever have it in one place. So, given that this is the first time I've considering this situation, I'm not 100% confident in the answer I'm about to give but you could probably create the draft, use an edit summary to explain that you're taking the content from the mainspace version's history, then, when the article is ready, request a WP:histmerge. If you did this it would be clear you're trying to act in good faith, but as I said, I'm not 100% that this is the proper way to go about it. I'd recommend that you ask at WP:Teahouse or get a second opinion. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:07, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Okay, useful info! Thanks again! – .Raven .talk 05:32, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- Elemimele at the Teahouse suggested a very diplomatic approach to deletion review; that page in turn suggested starting with the AfD's closer — which I have now done. I'm grateful to both of you for the pointers. – .Raven .talk 06:43, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:2019 Esports standings templates
A tag has been placed on Category:2019 Esports standings templates indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. CSD G13s
Hey, Josh,
Just thought I'd let you know that six months ago, there was a daylight savings time change in North America. So, the times from six months ago are an hour off from their expiration time today, in May. For example, if the last edit on a draft was at 8:10 am local time, that means it can be deleted or tagged for deletion at 9:10 am local time. But I believe you go by UTC time so perhaps this won't be an issue. But I had to do a double take today when the times seemed off this morning.
Hope all is well with you! Liz Read! Talk! 16:57, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the heads up @Liz! I do by UTC time, I have it ticking in the top right corner all the time now and use it to double check. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:16, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
pause
Hey man im josh, due to [5] I'm going to 'pause' (BTW I did a few today so I think I'm even with you) ...however its not fair to you if you have more redirect/totals, Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 12:58, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Ozzie10aaaa: I hope you're not pausing for me! My comment is not because I'd be upset to not be in first place (I would actually love for someone to overtake me), but because I don't want someone to believe they're in first place, then when the final count comes in, find out that they didn't actually review the most redirects. I think it would really suck, which is why I want the table to accurate throughout the drive. I pinged you because it seemed like you were trying to make the push for first and If you do want to try to beat me I encourage you to do so. For reference, the current numbers can be found here (I just ran it). If you use Quarry at all you could fork this query and update it whenever you like, but if not, the link will only be updated when I update it. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:13, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- the numbers[6] dont reflect you should be ahead by alot thats why I 'paused' because its not fair to you (what if it were me in your shoes), whenever they correct the numbers I'll start again, good luck, Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:20, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Ozzie10aaaa: The numbers will be updated for the end of the drive, whether it's done manually or by bot. If you are trying to fight for first you're not giving yourself a fair shot at it if you're waiting until the bot is counting redirects properly. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:22, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- seems the numbers were updated[7],(starting again)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 23:08, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- The table updates hourly but unfortunately it still doesn't reflect the proper number. Hey man im josh (talk) 01:25, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- Ozzie, please don't pause reviewing because of this. After the caveat was added above the leaderboard, all participants are now aware of the situation, and shouldn't complain if they go down a bit in the ranking (when the situation is resolved). This is more true for you and Josh, since you've commented (and are watching) that conversation on the Drive's talk page. I'm not sure how long it will take to wrap up that discussion and fix the bot, so, to reiterate, please don't pause. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 02:18, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Ozzie10aaaa: leaderboard is now fixed. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 04:21, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'm glad the issue has been resolved, and that the redirect backlog has gone significantly down (and to have contributed to some degree in its elimination), good luck, Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 12:28, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

Shouldn't the page be named Commonwealth Coast Football since that seems to have been the official name of the league? BeanieFan11 (talk) 00:45, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @BeanieFan11. Part of the reason I didn't view it as a proper name is because the abbreviation was CCC for Commonwealth Coast Conference and college conference pages don't typically capitalize the sport in article names. I found this to be the case for most conference football pages and categories in Category:NCAA Division I FBS football by conference. I also noticed that Category:Commonwealth Coast Conference had all their sports categories and pages with the sport as not part of the name lowercased.
- However, I did just find one of the article references[1] refer to the conference as Commonwealth Coast Football Conference, which would actually be a proper name that should be capitalized (similar to Atlantic Central Football Conference). I also found a reference from the same website[2] which refers to the conference as Commonwealth Coast Football. At this point, I'm not really sure which one is the best article and category name.
- I removed my request for renaming Category:Commonwealth Coast Football until we can sort this out. While I did propose changing the category to Category:Commonwealth Coast football, I wonder if it would make more sense at Category:Commonwealth Coast Conference football based on the other categores in Category:Commonwealth Coast Conference. Hey Josh, sorry for the random message; I noticed this page earlier today... any idea what happened here? Hi, it appears you closed[8] the ANI discussion not too precisely, because the editor has not been indeffed (their TPA got revoked, but it's still a week's block), and also they have now resumed attacks through a sock[9]. I believe the ANI discussion should not yet be closed. Will you undo your close? Cheers, — kashmīrī TALK 17:54, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Ressourcement
I see you or your bot reverted the change of this redirect to a stub article. Did you read the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Catholicism § Nouvelle théologie vs. Ressourcement theology before doing so? If you had you would have seen that there is a consensus that 1) the redirect is factually wrong and 2) a replacement with a stub article was the correct beginning of a correction. Why does your opinion outweigh a consensus? Furthermore, I documented where the discussion happened, so why did you not go there and express your concern? "I think this change should be reverted because it is better suited to being a redirect until the page could be expanded and sourced" and get a consensus on the revert would have been the proper way to go.Tfdavisatsnetnet (talk) 18:05, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Tfdavisatsnetnet: I think you need to take a step back and remember to assume good faith before approaching editors with the combative and inappropriate attitude that you've just approached me with. No one's opinion outweighs another and I never behaved as though my opinion is more valuable. It's quite common for new page patrollers to revert short stubs with poor sourcing back to a redirect, and that's what I did in this instance. Furthermore, it's disingenuous to state that you have consensus and behave as if I'm going against the wishes of dozens of editors when the conversation linked is mostly a back and forth between you and another editor, with one chiming in with a question, and another (Veverve) seeming to oppose a split.
- I do not feel strongly about this subject, so I'm not going to fight you if you want to revert my edit at Ressourcement. You may still run into issues if you do not fix the lack of citations. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:22, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- I apologize for my tone (yes I need to step back). And I agree with you that citations are needed, and I am not up to speed with the subject enough (heck, I was trying to learn about it when I originally discovered these problems with the article). I will have to study the recommended sources to get the citations, and I will revert the reversion once I do. I actually was hoping to add some citations in the next day or two. Tfdavisatsnetnet (talk) 19:06, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Tfdavisatsnetnet, I appreciate your acknowledgements. I want to be clear, I am not at all opposed to the creation of the article and I do hope you get it up to a point where it will not be sent to AfD. I wish you the best of luck in doing so and if you want to avoid the possibility of someone else reverting it to a redirect you could always work on the article in draft space or in a sandbox of your own. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:08, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Would documenting the reason for the change in the Talk page help avoid a future reversion? I find WP collaboration to be hazy at times.Tfdavisatsnetnet (talk) 19:17, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Tfdavisatsnetnet: I understand the difficulties that sometimes come along with collaboration, but yes, the talk page will help in some cases (for those users who happen to check it). Something else that might be useful is Template:Under construction. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:19, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Page moves
Hello Josh,
You might want to slow down on your page moves regarding U.S. political districts. There will probably be objections to abbreviating "State Senate" to just "Senate" as that can easily be confused with U.S. Senate and "State Senate" is the common term associated with this office. I wouldn't want to see all of these dozens of page moves reverted. So you might want to pause for a day and see if anyone objects to what you are doing. I was initially confused by your page moves as when I see Indiana Senate I think of the U.S. Senator from Indiana, not a State Senator from Indiana. Just a suggestion before you go through all 50 states here and do hundreds of page moves. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 20:00, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Liz: That's probably a good suggestion. I stopped for a few days after my last batch and I'll take a break from it now. Perhaps I'm pushing it a bit too much today, but I'm trying to align the pages and categories with the titles that are at the main articles listed under Category:State upper houses in the United States. Service awards
Hey josh im garrett. ;) I noticed you working out there, checked out your user page, and wanted to offer you a slightly easier way to keep your service award(s) up to date. I made the change on your user page; all you have to do to maintain it now is update the `edits` parameter in the templates I added, and the awards will automatically be correct.
I decided to be bold and make the change, telling you about it here, because I figure you can just revert it if you don't like it, and I won't be offended. But I also thought there might be a chance you'd appreciate it. Anyway, happy editing — Garrett W. {☎ ✍} 19:10, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you @Garrettw87. It's a useful change, and I appreciate the thought and effort, but I've reverted it because of personal preference. I'd rather the awards be static for myself personally. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:14, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
Please removed the afd tag
Hi, sir you have reviewed my article named anurag halder. It's been 10 days the page has afd tag. Still not removed. My article about the person is verified. Please request you to do something to save my article. Thanks in advance. Cinefilestudio (talk) 10:24, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Cinefilestudio: A few things...
- 1) Your article has been relisted, meaning that the discussion hasn't quite reached a consensus and the time for discussion has been extended. The tag must stay in place until the discussion has concluded.
- 2) I cannot do anything to save your article, aside from vote.
- 3) I should not vote on the discussion because of the WP:Canvas policy.
- 4) While I understand that you feel like it's "your" article, no one owns content on Wikipedia.
- Your best bet for saving the article is continued improvement of it. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:19, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Understand sir. I'm improving it time to time also my article is centered on subject matter written on reference. You also know that. Ita a unnecessary tag. Anyway thanks. Cinefilestudio (talk) 13:56, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- We'll see. It was deleted at AfD once before. You should also strike your second vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anurag Halder (2nd nomination), as you can only vote once per discussion per WP:AFDR. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:03, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Yes. I agree that it was deleted once before. It was a poorly written without good source. But this 2nd one have high quality evidence and proof. Please check the differences between them. Lot of improvement and references. And about 2nd vote i wasn't know that. It's a mistake. Cinefilestudio (talk) 19:29, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

SOS!
Hello! You are the most recent person to review the article Damalas and I need your assistance... The page which is well sourced has been under attack by people from reddit. They only seem to care about English sources and disregard sources that are in Greek and a few other languages. I do not see how it is fair in any way to discount the validity of my research and mark it as a hoax, just because they themselves cannot read the source material. The article is on a Greek noble house, so naturally a lot will be in Greek...
I would appreciate it greatly if you could review the talk page on the aforementioned wiki and lend some assistance.
Many thanks. Chios historian (talk) 21:52, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Chios historian, I watch Hey man im josh's talk page from time to time, and thought I'd include this for you to read before going any further. SPF121188 (talk this way) (my edits) 13:07, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Spf121188 Thank you. My apologies, I misspoke. It belongs to everyone! Chios historian (talk) 13:26, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Chios historian: If the page is "being attacked" you could always request page protection at WP:RPP. With that said, it doesn't look like it's new or unregistered users making changes to Damalas, but is instead an experienced editor. I highly encourage you not to accuse others of vandalism when they are clearly not vandalizing a page. I'd start a discussion on the article's talk page and go from there, as Wikipedia is a collaborative effort and I do believe they are making edits in good faith. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:34, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi and thank you kindly for your response.
- I have tried resolving this on the talk page but unfortunately it has gone nowhere. I do recognize that it's an established wiki account, but nevertheless they came from Reddit where they had jumped on a false bandwagon.
- An acquaintance of mine that has an account there sent them pictures of pages in books; these were sources in the article from books that are not online (the point of contention). Yet they didn't seem to care and proceeded to go after it on wiki. I have uploaded the same pages and more to an imgur link and posted it on the talk page. This showed that the article is no "hoax" however they both stopped responding, when they had been responding routinely.
- If anything it would have been more appropriate to request pictures of these pages versus assuming it's a hoax. Although I was not aware that it is my responsibility to do anything more than cite the book and page number (please correct if I am wrong).
- I hope this sheds some more light on the situation and I appreciate and assistance that you can give. Chios historian (talk) 17:21, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Chios historian: It does look like there's been discussion on the talk page, but you need to be patient and let it play it out sometimes. I wish you the best of luck in getting things resolved. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:11, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of 2022-2023 Ateneo Blue Eagles men's basketball team
Hello Hey man im josh,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2022-2023 Ateneo Blue Eagles men's basketball team for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want 2022-2023 Ateneo Blue Eagles men's basketball team to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Vandal
I saw you speedily deleted someone I warned very quickly about a week or two ago. I just found another vandal IP account dedicated to nuisance edits that could use such treatment as well. I could report this to a noticeboard if you prefer, let me know. The user is at User talk:148.77.107.202. Check any of their user contributions. I hope I'm doing this right. Thanks. Kire1975 (talk) 17:12, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Kire1975. It looks like you gave the IP a level 4 warning on their talk page for this edit. You were right to revert and warn the user, but I think the level of warning that you gave was inappropriate, as it appeared to be just a test edit. I typically only jump to that level of warning when someone has spouted something racist or homophobic, so I'd like to refer you to WP:UWLEVELS. For a test edit replacing content with "hi", I'd typically only escalate by a single level. If an appropriate level 4 / 4im warning has been given, and the editor continues to behave disruptively, then yes, please do report them at WP:AIV.
- Also, I understand you may not have thought that I am, but because of the way that your message is written, I want to be clear that I'm not an admin. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:21, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- There were five other vandalism edits this week here, here, here, here and here. I usually start with a level one warning and increase by one per offense, but considering this was the sixth vandal edit in a week, that's why I jumped straight to four. Is it possible to put more than one page in the warning code? That info is not apparent at WP:WARN2 where I got the code. Thanks for keeping me honest. Kire1975 (talk) 19:31, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Kire1975: The IP in question was actually just blocked by Widr (less than 10 minutes ago) for 2 years as a school block. I understand and follow your logic regarding using that level of a warning after seeing that many vandalism edits. I've found a batch of 5 bad edits sometimes and instantly jumped to level 2 or 3, so I don't fault you in the slightest for it. I do however try to WP:AGF and hope that someone simply doesn't know better. A single warning can often be enough, but the highest level warning can seem a little bitey to newcomers. It's even tougher with IP editors though because we don't actually know if it's the same individual. I wish Wikipedia was more of an exact science, but it's not, so we have to do the best we can to strike a balance of warnings as well encouragement. Your thought process makes sense, and I thought the same way before, but I've since tried to work towards being more patient which can sometimes result in more vandalism.
- I haven't tried to put multiple pages in a warning code, but I'm sure you could if you wanted to edit a standard template after the fact. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:45, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- I put it on WP:AIV just over 10 minutes ago, so I guess they took care of it. Thanks for all the information. I always have a lot to learn. Cheers. Kire1975 (talk) 19:48, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

Sanity check
I don't want to fall afoul of WP:CANVASS, but I'm starting to wonder whether *I* simply don't understand the WP concept of consensus, or whether multiple other editors don't. The page section is Wikipedia:Move review/Log/2023 May#N'Ko script. The issue appears to be whether consensus is expressed by a raw !vote count (which I thought it didn't) or must take the validity of the reasons given into account (which I thought it must), as when a !voter supports/opposes based on an assertion that (a) is not factually accurate, and/or (b) even it it were accurate, would not affect the application of a convention, guideline, or policy. Would you please take a look and tell me if I'm being an idiot? Thanks! – .Raven .talk 02:03, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @.Raven: You're right, closes should be based on policy and not based on a raw vote count. Unfortunately true "consensus" is often impossible to achieve, closers are often just doing their best and sometimes aren't experts in the areas they're closing topics in, and I understand where that closer was coming from. I don't think you're incorrect in your assertions and that's why it's difficult for me to respond to this. I think you've been right in a lot of ways on some things and I understand that it's maddening when you feel as though you're right and someone has been hounding you on a number of issues (I'm aware of some of the history between you and another user involved). At this point, even though I agree with you, I think it may be one you have to let go of and move on from so that you can live to fight another day. One of the toughest things I've had to come to terms with is that Wikipedia is not perfect, and sometimes the best thing that you can do is focus your efforts on areas that are less stressful. In short, I don't think you're being an idiot, I think it's a niche subject with a lack of participation and there are some arguments against you that are rooted in policy, even if I personally believe your argument is stronger. I do think that when others disagree enough it may just be something that we need to take a step back from, accept, and maybe try again to address a year or so down the road. People come and go, editors grow, and they may revisit the same subject they commented on a year later and have a different perspective and opinion. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:08, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Once again, thank you. I'm just sad that a real-world topic so many people care so much about (enough to celebrate a Day in its honor) can be a topic on which WP gets careless. On other topics we've seen fictional entries by editors get repeated in print by writers who trusted us to get our facts right – so what we do here has real-world consequences; it's not just a game in our own sandbox. I think that places real responsibility on our shoulders to, not merely wikilawyer, but actually try to learn and tell the truth – if we can verify it, as in this case we can. That's why I favor prioritizing "precision" over even "common"... because there are "commonly held" false beliefs being spread out there (2020 election, anyone?), and we shouldn't join in spreading them – which could contribute to events like 1/6/21. – .Raven .talk 00:58, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
Need to move a page but the target already exists
Hey, I see you reviewed one of my page moves in the past. Ince Gordon Dadds was recently purchased and the new parent renamed the firm to Ince & Co, which already exists as a redirect to the current article due that name being used previously. I'm much too busy to properly transfer content between the pages and update accordingly, would you mind taking over? –Skywatcher68 (talk) 15:01, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Skywatcher68: This is what one would call a "technical move". Technical move requests may be submitted at WP:Technical moves. For future reference, you should not transfer content between the pages to move a page, that would be considered a Wikipedia:Cut and paste move which is something we always try to avoid. AN Talk topic RE: Notifications
Good afternoon josh (Josh? HMIJ? doesn't matter?). I started a topic at the AN talk page that was spawned from something you handled yesterday (15th UTC) that oddly enough popped up today (16th UTC). I wanted to get your input on it as you seem to have your hand on the pulse better than I do. I didn't ping you in the talk thread as I didn't want to seem remotely accusatory. GabberFlasted (talk) 18:50, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @GabberFlasted: Josh is good, HMIJ looks weird to me even though it is the initialism of my username. I replied on the topic. While I think they should have done so in a more neutral and civil tone, I do think that meets the criteria of giving someone notice about a relevant discussion. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:14, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
How did you do that?
Re your revert at Griffin Dunne here [10], how did you do that? I was in the middle of reverting the first vandalism, when the Wiki software said it couldn't save because a cite referred to a blacklisted domain (filmreference). So I commented it out and saved, then got an edit conflict with your complete vandalism fix. So the restored version has that domain in it. Did the software complain to you about the blacklisted domain? If so, what did you do to complete the edit? Curious. signed, Willondon (talk) 17:41, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Willondon: That's definitely weird. No, Huggle didn't complain at all about the blacklisted domain being re-added in my revert. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:44, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- I've run in to this a couple times before. Stranger still, I just tried a dummy edit by adding a space, and it saved without complaint. Well, thanks for your reponse. Cheers. signed, Willondon (talk) 17:49, 17 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello! Your script put a lot of text that was unrelated to the article on the page and I reverted. Just making you aware. Red Director (talk) 18:13, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks @Red Director. I see what I did. I have had AWB open while copy and pasting things between windows, and I must have accidently pasted that into AWB. I hadn't noticed because I'm just hitting save on the AWB run I have going, which shows a diff on my screen, and didn't have a reason to hit show diff a second time. Good news is my AWB run is properly configured, but it's not human-proof :P Hey man im josh (talk) 18:28, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
