Hello! Please have a look at Wikipedia:Substubs and Wikipedia:Manual of style when you have a moment. Your "Birdy" contribution, while welcome, totally lacks content and therefore qualifies as a speedy delete. Please let me know if I can be of help. - Lucky 6.9 23:21, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)

re:cleanup per MoS

edit

When I say MoS, this is what I'm talking about: Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages). Extensive dictionary definitions do not belong on disambiguation pages (that's why wiktionary is linked to), and neither do non-notable software applications that don't have articles on Wikipedia. I removed Gravitation (manga) because I converted it into a more general Gravitation under the See also section. Disambiguation pages aren't like articles; there should only be as much information on the page so as to assist the reader in distinguishing between articles which happen to share the same title.—jiy (talk) 22:02, 11 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Meyers Lexikon

edit

Dear friend,

Sorry I only read your contribution just now. You wrote:

"You are implying that after the divide of Germany the Westgerman Meyer is the only legal successor of the Meyers by Bibliographisches Institut? Do you have any hard facts to back your opinion up?"--Hhielscher 21:54, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

(Retrieved from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Meyers_Konversations-Lexikon)

The answer is: officially yes. I guess you're from Germany, so I don't have to translate the next piece of history, taken from the catalogue of the BI (Mannheim, yes indeed!) in 1972: "1946 wird die Firma in Leipzig widerrechtlich enteignet. "

However, that was not my point. I only handled the bibliographical argument, i.e. the VEB BI –Meyers (so to speak) are not a 9th and a 10th edition, according to the title pages of both editions. Paul Drew 14:19, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Meyers Lexikon revisited

edit

"1953 verlegt die Aktiengesellschaft ihren Sitz nach Mannheim, die Stadt Leipzig klagt dagegen."
Where did they lodge their complaint?

In the bibliographies I know, the sequence of editions is leading, not the year of publication, e.g. Bibliotheca Lexicorum (Vienna, 2001).

Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision

edit

Hello, mate, I see that you are interested in Eurovision. Would you like to be involved in connecting with more eurovision wikipedians to do up the eurovision pages in a more coherent manner? I have come across the Eurovision wikiproject page, which seems to have been dormant for over two years. It may be an idea to have a look there and see how we could improve the eurovision coverage. I have done up the Congratulations (Eurovision) page so far and put notes about it on the pages of those who performed there. Best regards from Australia, Blnguyen 06:43, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I see you are trying to redirect that page to a specific section of an article. Unfortunately, due to a limitation in the MediaWiki software, you cannot redirect to specific sections of an article. See also Wikipedia:Redirect and Meta:Help:Redirect#A redirect to an anchor. --Signed and Sealed, JJJJust (T C) 10:47, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Hhielscher! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.

Russian word stress symbol

edit

Hi Hhielscher, I replied to your question in my talk page. --Anatoli (talk) 21:56, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also, I believe, there is no big need for the following symbols in the Russian mode, so their value can be replaced by the stress code: _ (underscore = Shift + -), * (but this is used in wiki syntax, so not a good idea for us).--Imz (talk) 23:03, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
