Fadrique de Toledo

edit

ElBufon (talk) 06:44, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Italian Wars

edit

I noticed that you've been creating and improving articles on the Italian Wars at a steady pace over the past weeks, and I would like to present you with these WikiChevrons in recognition of your outstanding efforts to improve these topics. This is quite an obscure topic on Wikipedia—there is only a handful of editors working on these articles with any degree of regularity—and I'm very happy to welcome you to the club, such as it is. I look forward to seeing more of your work! Kirill [talk] [prof] 00:33, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Battle of Havana (1762)

edit

Putting the men who died during the occupation as a battle casualties seems not neutral. Half of the British troops died of disease before the town was restored to Spain. So, why not add them to the infobox? Because the Battle of Havana had already ended. --Sir Ignel (talk) 05:02, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The state of the ships after the battle or the dead by sick during the siege and ocupation are important points to know the outcome and the consequences of the military actions. For example, in the Spanish Armada, most of the Spanish losses and casualties occurred after the battle. History6969 12:56, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
But the Spanish Armada wasn't a battle, it's just the name given to a fleet and an attempted invasion. A good analogy would be to include the drowned men and wrecked ships on the coasts of Ireland in the infobox of an article about the Battle of Gravelines. A nonsense, since those men weren't killed in any battle. Moreover, why only the British who died before 18 October? The British occupation lasted many more months and more British died. But, as I said, count all those men as casualties of the battle would be like counting Blas de Lezo as a casualty of Cartagena or Gravina of the Battle of Trafalgar. --Sir Ignel (talk) 17:43, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
The Spanish Armada wasn't a battle, but Gravelines yes. The majority of Spanish casualties and losses were caused by the storms after the battle. Is a good example! Lezo contracted the disease after the battle, not during, and Gravina was a casualty (wounded), and finally died by the wounds suffered during the battle. The British troops at Havana contracted the diseases during the siege and ocupation (the occupation and control of the city is implicit in the military action). History6969 1:07, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions on the Peninsular War articles, but your edits seem to me to be be trying slightly too hard to promote a Spanish POV. If you want to make content changes you should comply with site content policy by (1) providing reliable sources, (2) respecting existing consensus, and (3) discussing changes (especially on current featured articles). Defaultsort tag

edit

I see that you recently added some articles about the Peninsular War. Welcome to military history article-writing! The articles lacked a defaultsort tag so they were all listed under B for Battle or C for Combat. I added the tag to the articles, but you may want to include it in the future. See the DEFAULTSORT tag right before the Category list in the Battle of Cogorderos article. This will sort the battles into alphabetical order. (Or maybe you know all this but just forgot.)

If you would like to add information on the war from the Spanish viewpoint, please consider writing an article about Francisco Copons. He seems to have been a capable general who fought in many engagements. See my Siege of Tarifa (1812) article as an example. Thanks. Djmaschek (talk) 06:48, 13 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Campaña del Palatinado

edit

Hola, History6969.

(Fuente).
Saludos --Weymar Horren (talk) 06:16, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Buenas Weymar Horren.

Saludos. --Weymar Horren (talk) 17:59, 5 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I noticed that some time ago you added the Dutch Republic to the infoboxes of War of the Portuguese Succession and Battle of Ponta Delgada. However, I don't see any reference to that anywhere. Please show me where they participated. King Philip V of Spain (talk) 14:36, 1 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Buenas King Philip. Saludos. History6969 15:50, 2 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Capture of Aalst (1584), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Geoffrey Parker. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. April 2021 WikiProject Military History Reviewing Drive

edit

Hey y'all, the April 2021 WikiProject Military History Reviewing Drive begins at 00:01 UTC on April 1, 2021 and runs through 23:59 UTC on April 31, 2021. Points can be earned through reviewing articles on the AutoCheck report, reviewing articles listed at WP:MILHIST/ASSESS, reviewing MILHIST-tagged articles at WP:GAN or WP:FAC, and reviewing articles submitted at WP:MILHIST/ACR. Service awards and barnstars are given for set points thresholds, and the top three finishers will receive further awards. To participate, sign up at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_History/April 2021 Reviewing Drive#Participants and create a worklist at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/April 2021 Reviewing Drive/Worklists (examples are given). Further details can be found at the drive page. Questions can be asked at the drive talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 17:21, 31 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
