Deleted Account - User:Joseph A. Spadaro

Hello. I see that you deleted my User Page and my Talk Page about a week or so ago (from my account entitled User:Joseph A. Spadaro). May I ask why? I had a lot of stuff that I was working on and that I do not want to lose (in my Sandboxes and such). Please advise. Also ... this brief explanation will give you some background information on that account. Several months back, an administrator unilaterally decided to block my account. He and I had a difference of opinion (on a matter about which reasonable minds may differ). Nonetheless, he then told me that if I did not agree with his views, I would have a permanent ban. I was told (by others) that I could "appeal" this unilateral action. But, as of yet, I did not have the time to do so ... and I was not told of any time-frame / deadline within which I must do so. (You can look at my Talk Page, as it might fill you in on some of the details of this matter, if need be.) I have been intending to write up my "appeal", but I have not had the free time to do so, as of yet. And then, just today, I noticed that my account was deleted by you. Please advise on this matter. In particular ... is my account and all of my "info" lost for good ... or are they able to be restored? If so, how do I go about requesting such restoration of the account and its info? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (64.252.112.168 (talk) 21:43, 6 December 2009 (UTC))

It was deleted because you are blocked, if you want it back, you need to request an unblock--Jac16888Talk 21:45, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
How do I get info from my User Page and Talk Page that I need in order to request the unblock? Thanks. (64.252.112.168 (talk) 21:46, 6 December 2009 (UTC))
It should tell you what to do in your block message, log into the account and try editing, it will tell you what to do--Jac16888Talk 21:48, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
When I attempted to "log in" ... there is no User Page or Talk Page to "log into" or see or read ... all I get is a sentence that says "this account was deleted". There is no block message. Please advise. Thanks. (64.252.112.168 (talk) 21:53, 6 December 2009 (UTC))
Try editing an article. Alternatively just create the talk page using Template:Unblock--Jac16888Talk 21:57, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
You are not understanding what I am asking you. In order for me to type up my unblock request, I need information from my User Page and my Talk Page. Both of those pages do not exist. I am not asking for the unblock template. I am asking ... how do I access information from my User Page and Talk Page ... information that I need in order to prepare (type) my unblock request. When I look at my User Page or Talk Page, there is simply a one-sentence statement that says "this page was deleted". Please advise. Thanks. (64.252.112.168 (talk) 22:01, 6 December 2009 (UTC))
Thanks for not responding ... thanks for not helping me ... I sincerely hope that you are treated in kind when you need help and ask for it. (64.252.115.254 (talk) 14:59, 11 December 2009 (UTC))
Sorry, totally forgot. You would have got a better response if you had just posted an unblock asking for your talk page restored, if you want I can restore it now--Jac16888Talk 15:01, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
This user posted an {{adminhelp}} request via an IP; I have restored his user and talk pages and advised him to read the Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks before posting an unblock request. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:27, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Can i create a page for my Company

Hi I am trying to create a page for my company MVS Info Tech [1]

Can i do that. I am not making it to advertise and all. I dont want somebody else to create a page like that, thats why i am doing so. WHat shall i do now. Can u help me to create a page ???

Also tell me how to upload the logo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 14vivin (talkcontribs) 06:44, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

In a nutshell, no, you can't. You say you're not trying to advertise, the page I deleted was a blatant advertisment. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place for you to promote yourself, we do not allow people to edit pages about subjects with which they are personally involved, as you have a clear conflict of interest. If your company is notable enough by our standards, then someone else will create it sooner or later, impartially--Jac16888Talk 06:49, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

i am sorrry for the mistake happened. [mvs infotech] What i was trying is to learn editing wikipedia. thats why i just paste the page in the website directly here. sorry for the trouble. In case if u find it will be nice to create a page for the company please go ahead and do that. Burmese Article

Hi, please could you help me out and take a look at Computer University, Monywa and tell us if its worth keeping, its listed at WP:PNT, and we can't translate it, there are few burmese speakers. Thanks--Jac16888Talk 09:53, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

It's worth keeping although the article is quite bare. (Monywa is the largest city in northwestern Myanmar.) I copy-edited a bit. Hopefully, it's a bit more informative.Hybernator (talk) 17:22, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

nopCommerce

im interested to understand why you deleted nopCommerce on Oct. 23-2008?? im pretty sure its a new software package for ecommerce?

the program is now available on godaddy.com for users in their 1-click installs by defintion, wikipedia defines godaddy as

"Go Daddy is an Internet domain registrar and web hosting company that also sells e-business related software and services. In 2009, it reached more than 36 million domain names under management.[1] Go Daddy is currently the largest ICANN-accredited registrar in the world, and is three times the size of its closest competitor."

i mean if its the largest by 3x, and they offer nopCommerce, what right do you have to delete the content and keep any relevant information for those who are interested?

i wrote an email to the creators and they said something like "wikipedia says it advertising"??? how can a volunteer restrict pertinent information??????

tom weille tweille@gmail.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tweille (talkcontribs) 17:06, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

there are a lot of software packages out there, just because a notable site is selling one, doesn't make it notable. Besides, the article I deleted was clearly advertising, does "nopCommerce is the best Open Source online shop e-commerce solutions. nopCommerce is available for free. It has everything you need to get started in selling physical and digital goods over the internet." sound neutral to you. You are welcome to try and create an article about it yourself, provided you provide plenty of independent sources to verify its notability--Jac16888Talk 17:32, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

thanks for letting me know their are a lot of software packages out there. and its open source, yes they do sell and supported version but you can download and install for free, just like magento. you could have deleted 90% of content instead of deleting the entire page letting none of us know about it. Just to let you know, there are only a handful of open source ecommerce packages, and most havent had an update in year's (plural). wikipedia lists 12; osCommerce updated 21months ago, zenCart 2years, and they are by far the most popular. what do you mean by independent sources to verify?? who are you...judge/jury and executioner? the software exists, its opensource, its ecommerce. the WORLDS LARGEST web hosting company GODADDY, number2 is 3x smaller, has ZenCart, osCommerce, nopCommerce, and [pinnacle cart cost$$]. stick to your other 11,999 edits, hopefully youve done better... u tool —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tweille (talkcontribs) 18:02, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Godaddy sells a lot of software, the fact that its the biggest doesn't make one of its products important. If nopCommerce is so good, go find some references to prove it and make the article yourself. You say I could have removed most of the content and left the rest, you don't even know what was in it. The entire article was the paragraph I quoted above and a list of features. So next time get all the facts before shooting your mouth off like a smartass--Jac16888Talk 18:12, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Sacred Heart Hospital (Scrubs)

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Sacred Heart Hospital (Scrubs). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sacred Heart Hospital (Scrubs). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:14, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of Rabino Isaac Sacca

Hi, just wanted to clarify about That Bio, Rabino Isaac Sacca First, It's originally written in Spanish, Because of the main origin of the person we're talking about. Second, It's written in a neutral point of view. Every fact written is well known, or it can be demonstrated.

Please help me if you think something should have to be rewritten or changed. The article will be translated into English as soon as it's been accepted and polished.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iairsalem (talkcontribs) 23:43, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

First of all, it needs to be translated into English before you post it on wikipedia, work on it in a sandbox or something. Second, it was a copyright violation, you copied it direct from another website, http://www.rabinoisaacsacca.com/acerca-de-rabino-isaac-sacca/, which means we can't accept it. Even if you had translated it, it would still be a copyright violation--Jac16888Talk 23:55, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about my mistake, I just wanted to post it on Wikipedia in Spanish. The content was from that site, shall the site include creative commons licence and that will be enough? I just want to make it right, to avoid facing a deletion in spanish too.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iairsalem (talkcontribs) 14:17, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

You're better off asking on the spanish wikipedia, , although really your best bet is to just use the article, and other sources to write a proper article rather than copying it--Jac16888Talk 14:45, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Merges and deletion

Woah! ( List of ) Alumni, Principals and Teachers of The Rajkumar College,Rajkot- RKCians cannot be deleted as a redirect, as material was merged to the main article (see WP:Merge and delete); the history is needed for attribution. We can move the redirect to a better title, e.g. Alumni of Rajkumar College. If it is recreated, we can protect the redirect. Fences&Windows 16:38, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

I doubt it matters that much, the only real content merged was the little descriptions of each person, [2], all the main content was already there. Ah well, i've moved it to a better title--Jac16888Talk 16:49, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of "Blogtronix"

i spent hours doing research and finding references, and looking at entries for similar companies, and there is no reason that there shouldnt be a wikipedia entry for Blogtronix. The company has several major clients, a new open source micro-blogging platform that is used in 75 countries, and is certainly more notable than a myriad of other collaboration and wiki products which are currently listed in the encyclopedia. There is a great deal of buzz about their offerings and just because it is not a large company does not mean it is not notable. The encyclopedia should be objective and thorough, and it is contradictory to the spirit of the project for you to delete entries with merit surpassing or similar to existing entries. The mere fact that there is a list of collaborative/wiki products means that you must allow the inclusion of Blogtronix in the encyclopedia, as it is a leading product in that area. If you are unwilling to engage in a reasonable discussion of this issue I would like you to direct me to a senior administrator or some sort of supervisor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elimccargar (talkcontribs) 21:30, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

If you've found some valid reference and such, not just the companies website pages, then by all means recreate it, I won't delete it, although I can't guarantee no one else will--Jac16888Talk 01:48, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

I tried to write an article, called "Digital Sculpture"

You (or some other self-appointed editor) deleted it. I wondered why, and how I could improve it, so I started a "talk page" about it. You deleted that, with no comment. I notice you proudly display a list with the number of things you've deleted, and some kind of medal that you get for doing that - congratulations. But for someone who happens to know something about a certain topic and wants to write an article for Wikipedia about it, this is not exactly encouraging. I don't believe the encyclopedia started out with this attitude, or it never would have gotten anywhere. But it seems to have become increasingly hidebound and rigid, run by insiders who seem to take a lot more pleasure in deletion than in completion. Should I just give up - is that the (unspoken) message here?

Awerby (talk) 22:23, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Your article was deleted (By another "self-appointed editor") because it was entirely your own work, reading much like an essay or thesis - this is not wikipedia is about, its an encyclopedia, not a scientific journal. Articles need to be verified and supported by 3rd party references. If you try being a bit politer, you might find people more willing to help, rather than assuming we're all out to get you--Jac16888Talk 11:27, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

ToxicWasteGrounds

Hi Jac. ToxicWasteGrounds seems to be completely out of control. There are two reasons why I contact you about it:

  1. He has initiated a rather weird looking sockpuppet investigation against you, but I see no trace of you having been notified about it.
  2. He created this user page for a new user. I'm not really familiar with Indian languages, but I ran it through Google Translate, tentatively setting the language to Hindi, and got this rather offensive result. I know you do a lot of work on WP:PNT, so I guess you'll have a more informed opinion of this than I.

From the editor's various remarks it looks like he has rather serious problems. What do you think is the proper way to proceed? Best regards, Favonian (talk) 00:02, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

I just saw that my RfA was closed successfully. Thank you for the trust you placed in me by nominating me. I will do my best to live up to your expectations. Now a question. I haven't participated in many RfAs in the past, but it seems like there is a tradition of placing a thank you box on the talk pages of people who participated. Is there a template that gets used for this, or would I have to create my own box? Or do you think a short note would suffice? Rlendog (talk) 20:26, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm sure you will. When it comes to thank you notes, its really up to you whether or not you give them out, I don't think anybody will complain if youou don't. If you decide to do it, then you could try looking through the talk pages of people who !voted, some of them are bound to be regulars at rfa and there will be templated you can use, but a short note would do the job just fine too, I think I just left a short note for most people. Hi Jac! I was wondering, since the above-captioned user only ever inputs the same string, namely f-16 falcon pilot markku ensio pekkala israel air force, or some variation thereof, including on his own talk page, would it be appropriate to elevate his indefinite block to include talk page access, including his own. ← Gee, that’s a long sentence! (edit conflict)  Thanks for your swift response! I only asked because I am trying to delineate the times when a user is not only blocked, but has talk page access blocked including, perhaps, access to his own. I started thinking about this when I saw you take away such access from Newlifeinlondon — and his alter ego Newlifeinrome, although that latter wasn’t effected by you — for abusing the privilege. As for Mrmakemakkara/Makemakkara, at the risk of being politically incorrect, it’s as if he has Tourette’s of the keyboard, eh? — SpikeToronto 20:54, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Do you think an autoblock would do the trick? Assuming he uses the same site for his connections? Thanks! — SpikeToronto 20:56, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Probably not, otherwise he would have been autoblocked when i blocked the account. Hopefully that IP is his home one, since he also used it in november after i blocked his first account, if it then it should stop him for a while--Jac16888Talk 20:59, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Pygmy goats

Hello, I now have an account. I genuinely don't understand why I can't post my website in the "external links" section on the pygmy goat article. I've had people clicking through from Wikipedia and have been having a look around. As you can see on the website, there are no adverts as I do not make any money from it. I simply want to share my website with others. I thought the point of Wikipedia was to share information? Also the fact it's hosted on a fansite does not make it a fansite itself. Hi Jac, I'd like to suggest to you that the edit summary for your deletion of Mbz1's user page was inappropriate, [3]. Mila is a very long term contributor with dozens of featured pictures to her name and has been an asset to the project more often than not. She overreacted to the "accusations" made (as she saw them), but that does not warrant your response, which, regardless of Mbz1's provocation, is negative and unprofessional. Would you please consider undoing your deletion and trying it again with something more civil? Regards, Maedin\talk 17:42, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

No, I won't. What Mbz1 did was despicable, or are you not aware that she threatened to commit suicide if her talk page wasn't deleted? Good riddance as far as I'm concerned--Jac16888Talk 19:13, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I was aware, and no, I don't think what she did should have had that affect on your response and behaviour as an administrator. You needn't have stooped alongside her just because you found her actions despicable. However, it isn't worth arguing about. Thank you for replying. Maedin\talk 19:20, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Yes, Jac16888, I have greatly overreacted over the cruelty and unfairness of my inquisitors and accusers yesterday, and I am sorry for that, but what is really despicable here it is your edit summary. You are heartless, merciless robot, who always is doing no, not even what is the right thing to do, but what you consider the right thing to do in your sick mind. If your edit summary and response to Maedin message were intended to hurt me even more that I have been hurt already, I believe you will be glad to find out that you succeed. I'd like to wish you never to experience what I have last night. Thank you, Maedin, it was kind of you what you wrote.--Mbz1 (talk) 21:01, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
I did not intend to hurt you, but I will not lose sleep if I did so. I meant it, I think you should leave wikipedia and not come back. You're the one who is sick, comments like the one you made are beyond despicable regardless the circumstances, what you experienced last night was misunderstanding which you blew out of proportion. What you did was pathetic --Jac16888Talk 22:00, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Pot, meet kettle. I disagree with Maedin; I think this is worth arguing about. I don't know why you felt the need to delete Mbz1's user page. Perhaps that doesn't matter. But I see your edit summary as a gratuitous extension of the taunting and bullying she suffered yesterday, and a clear abuse of admin tools. I think you should not only undo it, but also apologise. -- Avenue (talk) 23:46, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
I deleted the page because she requested it. I saw no taunting or bullying yesterday, and my viewpoint was that of a user who wasn't getting what she wanted, so she threatened suicide. As far as I'm concerned that is the lowest of the low, a truly despicable thing to say. I think I'm well justified to be angry and can assure you wholeheartedly that I will not be apologising.--Jac16888Talk 23:51, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
There is the problem, I think. You felt angry, and you acted as an admin without achieving adequate emotional distance from the situation. Does that not trouble you? -- Avenue (talk) 00:16, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps I should not have made the summary, but I see no reason to discuss it. I meant what I said, and will not apologise. --Jac16888Talk 00:27, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for acknowledging that your summary may not have been ideal. The reason I feel we should discuss it is that when you act in an admin role, you are in some sense a representative of Wikipedia as a whole. While I'm sure you meant it sincerely, I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one who would disagree with the sentiment, and I don't think it is appropriate to leave it as it is. -- Avenue (talk) 01:08, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
PS I have struck my call for an apology above. Although I still think your summary was ill considered, you were acting in good faith and had good reasons for feeling strongly about the threat. -- Avenue (talk) 01:19, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
You probably should try to show more sensitivity going forward, if at all possible. Even if provoked. It would be greatly appreciated. 72.60.255.196 (talk) 01:26, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm confused - who was that directed to? -- Avenue (talk) 01:39, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

(intended) Everybody, please accept my apology for what I've said last night. I felt really, really bad, and I still am, but I realize I should not have brought my problems to the Community, but tried to deal with them on my own. I was harassed and bullied by banned user as well as by admins for the whole day yesterday for nothing. They run cu on me against the users, who requested CU on me in the first place. In other words they believed that my sock requested CU on me. Am I the only one, who sees something wrong here? They said I was Israelbeach, who is a native English speaker. Am I writing as a native English speaker? They compared the style of the articles I once edited, and that were edited and reedited by other users to correct me to my own style on AN/I, and said that me is not me, and so on, and so on... If it is not a harassment I am not sure what is. I do not know why I asked to delete my user pages, but when I did, and was refused, it was like the last drop (I am afraid I am hard to understand) Anyway... Jac16888, I am fine with your edit summary, live it on, who cares. On the one hand I deserved it, on the other it helped me to get to know Maedin and Avenue better, and I am very glad I got to know them better, most of all Maedin. I had some problems with her in the past, and now I see how kind and how understanding she is. Understanding really matters. Jac16888, I'd like to ask you to be kinder. It will help not only those, who are around you, but yourself too. Trust me, I know. Otherwise I am afraid your conduct was not any better than mine was. In a meantime, I would like to ask you to restore the history on my talk page with any edit summary you find appropriate , and unprotected it. It was silly of me to ask for it to be deleted in the first place, and I really would not like anybody to be angry with me because of that, and because my suicide note. I probably should not have asked to be unblocked, but I will try do my very best to stay away from Wikipedia from now on, just please do not be angry with me, try to understand me instead, please...--Mbz1 (talk) 01:42, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Mbz1, I am a kind person, and I find you lecturing me about kindness to be the height of arrogance, considering what you did to me the other night was extremely cruel. Can you imagine spending a night in anguish, thinking your comments have led to someone taking their own life? Please do not edit on my talk page again, it is for editors, since you're retired that doesn't include you--Jac16888Talk 11:30, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Actually, either retire or don't, Mbz1. If you want the black templates up, then leave. If you plan to stick around and relive this experience a few dozen more times, have the courtesy to un-retire. Tan | 39 14:13, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
  • Jacasses. Unfortunately Mbz1 is not strong enough to laugh at so much stupidity. If I were her I would continue editing Wikipedia as usual, in whatever article pleases me. No matter who says I am sockpuppet or not and I would keep the nice list of the story in my User-page in the faces of those who participated. I wouldn't post the suicide thing either since that is like a gift for those who are playing to be strong in the safety of the back of a keyboard.  franklin  14:46, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Please excuse me for joining this discussion--I just wanted to say that although I haven't interacted with you previously Mbz1, I have noticed and admired your work on Wikipedia--in particular your fantastic photography and also a particularly kind and civil conversation you had with a new user. I just read your summary of the events the other day, and I'm really sorry that such a distressing series of events happened. Obviously it's unfortunate that you, who have contributed a lot to this encyclopedia and had people around the world enjoying your photos ond other work through wikipedia, were dragged through this painful incident, and I really regret this. Please, don't let yourself be upset by comments made by other users on Wikipedia. A lot of comments made by people were and continue to be hurtful and insulting, but I hope that you won't allow that to hurt you more! See, the volunteers on Wikipedia are just random people. Some of them have good judgement. Some of them don't. Some of them are kind. Some of them aren't. Some of them are twelve year old kids. Someone being an "admin" doesn't mean that this person is wise or kind or older than twelve or represents Wikipedia or anything else--it just means that they're experienced with the encyclopedia and have volunteered a lot of their time helping with it constructively over the years. The amazing thing to me about Wikipedia is not that random volunteers sometimes act like angry mastodons, but the fact that the whole encyclopedia works at all and that so many people around the world enjoy it and benefit from it! And, by the way, based on private communications with User:Jac, I think he really was terrified by your note. I came to the conversation on ANI after the note had already been posted that evening, and it terrified me also. I think you are a talented and kind person, and I hope you take good care of yourself! Best wishes, CordeliaNaismith (talk) 15:01, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for joining in, with such a positive and mature message. -- Avenue (talk) 15:17, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Ditto, Cordelia said it much better than I could. And approve of her reinstatement of Mbz1's user page following Tan's deletion (calling it a "rant" with personal attacks in it, ironically). Maedin\talk 15:35, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
