Hi Jac16888 you just sent me a message to gameshouter123 I have some other questions about wiki. First I would like to ask how you found me because when I search myself nothing pops up. Secound why are you an administrator for wiki. I forgot what else I was going to say I might message you later. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gameshouter123 (talk • contribs) 01:32, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
Hello, there!
- First of all, I want to say that I appreciate and am un-offended by your edit to that particular sub-page of mine; however..... I would have greatly appreciated it if you had dropped a note on my talk page telling me what you were going to do.
- This is just very idle curiosity on my part (so there is absolutely no need on your part to answer this question if you are disinclined to do so): What were your reasons for looking at the list?
I wish you the best.<br. />—NBahn (talk) 17:08, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- User:RunnerHerald does not exist, there is no such user, however it is they came to be on your list it meant that User talk:RunnerHerald received a message about the meet-up, which meant it was listed at Wikipedia:Database reports/Ownerless pages in the user space, which is something I clear every Saturday morning. Often there are items on that list where bots have sent messages to nonexistent users because they are linked to on some list somewhere about meet-ups or wiki-projects, through typos or Ip's etc--Jac16888Talk 17:17, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- I see; this is very odd, because I thought that I had checked all of the red links on the list before requesting that a bot spam it. Evidently, though, I did not do so. Well, be that as it may, thank you for both your information and your time.<br. />—NBahn (talk) 18:03, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

/* Michael J. Franklin (CPO) */
Hello Jac 16888,
We have added the above mentioned article to wikipedia which you have marked as recommended for deletion. We have been adding references but because Mr. Franklin is still active in protecting the world's elite we are unsure what references you will accept. I have a question; most professional bodyguards don't give interviews or are actually named in newspaper articles. We have added links to his most public events where there are thousands of photos of him with sporting icons. Would it be helpful if we uplaoded and added certificates etc?
Thanking you in advance and we are happy that people like you check accuracy of the information.
with kindest regards

- Is there are a reason you're saying we? If this account is being used by a group or company you should be aware we do not allow that. As for the article, read this, pictures and youtube videos do not count as valid references, what matters on Wikipedia is that all content is referenced so that it can be verified, if Franklin is notable enough to meet our standards then there will be references to him to, if you can#t produce any then the article must be deleted.--Jac16888Talk 09:40, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of article : Shushrusha Citizens' Co-operative Hospital, Shivaji Park, Mumbai - need help to revise
Shushrusha Citizens' Co-operative Hospital, Shivaji Park, Mumbai, was recently deleted. You had, previously, helped with article Rajkumar College, Rajkot, which I try to maintain. Hoever, since a lot of material was deleted on that page, at that time when you had helped, I have not been able to add much to that article, for fear of error.
- Shushrusha Citizens' Co-operative Hospital, Shivaji Park, Mumbai, is the first page, I have created from scratch for the co-operative aspects. However, I admit that adverising aspects were evident. Should I re-do the page? What is needed to re-do the page? Need help, suggestions. I know some aspects to be deleted and just make it encyclopedic. Help.

Adding Content
I work for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce (www.gwinnettchamber.org) and we are attempting to create a Wikipedia presence for our business community in Gwinnett County, Metro Atlanta, Georgia and are consistently getting denied when trying to create our entry. Can you give us any insight as to why this would be happening? We have read the FAQs and understand you cannot add anything about your business, but we are finding several businesses with Wikipedia entries and are quite puzzled about what we might be doing incorrectly? Any assistance you can provide would be most helpful. We can be reached at lcoonrod@gwinnettchamber.org. Ylindsa Coonrod (talk) 18:28, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- You gave me several reasons right there why you are having problems. One, you repeatedly say "we" which tells us that you are operating an account on the behalf of a company with probably more than one person behind it. Two, you say you're trying to create a presence for your company, which we simply do not allow, wikipedia is not a please for you to create a presence, you should already have a presence which we can write about, and as it is your business we are well aware that you will never be able to write from a truly neutral point of view. If your company is notable enough to be considered worthy of inclusion here then sooner or later somebody else will right about it, and if writing about it is your only reason for editing here, then perhaps you should consider other methods of promotion, as you have no place here--Jac16888Talk 23:56, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed you deleted the file Brooklyn Bridge at night. I was trying to upload the original image to Featured picture candidates, but I obviously botched the process. I wondered if you might tell me the best way to upload a candidate for the featured picture? Many thanks. MarmadukePercy (talk) 22:04, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- Didn't delete the file, I deleted Brooklyn Bridge at night, which as far as i could tell was some sort of request for featured status or something. I know nothing about iamges around here, but you created it in article space, presumably it belongs in the wikipedia namespace. Try Wikipedia:Featured pictures--Jac16888Talk 22:14, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Concerning the current revision as of 07:07, 27 May 2010 (edit) (undo) Jac16888 (talk | contribs) m (→Talkback: new section), you need to read the entire discussion page for the month of May 2010. Secondly, a devious unknown User has been removing posts to this page (External links - websites, articles, and videos) as well. I have posted everything mentioned above on Zaid Shakir AS IT SHOULD BE. As for the "New York Times" article footnote no. 8, I also posted the CORRECT URL link. Translation... or lack thereof
Hey there, I just read your recent comment re: translation on Wikipedia, and I absolutely agree with you. BodyShock/User:Mattp
For reference, I made this edit knowing him personally. Evidence is also presented on his LiveJournal of the same username in a summary of his story. Also, if you look through the article history, his name was once linked and later unlinked, only to be reverted by someone who was his housemate at the time of filming. If this is not evidence enough and you still must remove the link to his username, then at least take away the whole link, not just the text of it, so to avoid the broken link! Even after I pointed out to you that your edits resulted in a broken link, you continued to do it anyway; why?! ~ tajasel (talk • contribs) 13:58, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- Answering your last question firt, a broken link is a link that can be fixed by someone creating an article. And no, that's not even close to usable evidence, and even if it was you still can't link to his user account. That link is basically disruptive--Jac16888Talk 22:47, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Just curious...
I see you fixed a link on one of my user pages. Was that a bot action? I get what you did, and presume I understand why; no real problem, just slightly surprised to see a fix on a user page. --- OtherDave (talk) 17:28, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'd moved User:OtherDave:draft/Teacher Corps to User:OtherDave/draft/Teacher Corps, the colon meant it wasn't a proper subpage making it ownerless, I just fixed the link out of tidiness--Jac16888Talk 22:48, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, that was the missing link (so to speak). My own fix... wasn't one. --- OtherDave (talk) 20:58, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

La Vitrine culturelle de Montréal
Hello Jac, I just saw that you deleted the page I created for La Vitrine culturelle de Montréal. The reasons given are totally invalid. (A7: no explanation of the subject's significance (real person, animal, organism, or web content) The first paragraph clearly states that La Vitrine is a charitable non-profit (even making a link to an existing page on Wikipedia) . Furthermore, we were careful to construct the text in a language "Wikipedian". The Showcase is a cultural organization funded by several levels of government and as a beacon for the cultural life of Montreal, it must meet within Wikipedia . I ask you to restore the page. If you want to chat with me, I will gladly give you more information. Katerine Rollet

- Firstly this is the English Wikipedia, i.e. articles are in English, you could try the French Wikipedia. Secondly, being a charitable/non-profitable org does not automatically make it significant, there are hundreds of thousands of similar groups, to have an article this one needs to show it is notable, through third party reliable sources--Jac16888Talk 21:53, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Strange. user:Ouzel Ring block
First block and it's an indef? Could I ask if you might reconsider this?
It's a legit block. NPA just isn't on this guy's radar, I can make no apologies for that. However they're also a very new editor, and show some evidence of intent to make useful contributions: Compare theirs and an immediate and unexplained reversion of this. I admit, if that had been my first experience of WP, I'd be pretty pissed off too!
With our innumerable teenage vandals we give them chance after chance, for worse than this, and with no evidence of intention to edit positively. Yet this guy gets slapped, over-reacts and the next thing is an indef. Now this is also a new editor - they're unlikely to know that indef means "until apology" but take it rather as "Switch usernames" or else "Embrace the Dark Side". Neither of those are good outcomes for the project.
I would support a block (it is warranted), but would hope that they might be set straight, rather than just excluded. I think they do have something to offer. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:15, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

They have a listing on both Allmusic (link) and progarchives (link). This gives them plenty of credibility of being an actual artist, not some garage band. No, they don't have a website (yet), because all their website needs are taken care of by myspace (link). So, because there is already an album page and everything, I really think the Haken band page should be reinstated. They even have connections to To-Mera (the bassist in Haken is the guitarist in To-Mera).
thanks,

I have unblocked this user - this looks like wheel-warring, but that was not my intention. I had in fact already unblocked, after an email message. I then composed a message of advice, got an edit-conflict with their unblock request when I tried to post it, and then again with you. My reason for unblocking was that the user was entirely up-front about editing on behalf of his employer (see his user page), and ready to change username and to observe the restrictions in WP:COI and WP:BESTCOI; in those circumstances, I think better to have them making their requests openly than tempted to edit anonymously. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:50, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- I saw, and going by the times I figured it was edit conflicts. However I'm not sure I entirely agree, while they have said their username, it says on the userpage that they have no intention of editing anything except for Qinetiq and related, which makes them a single purpose account which I doubt is going to be particularly neutral since they also admit being from the press deparment, if they agree to not edit Qinetiq related articles its not a problem, but I doubt they'd be ok with that--Jac16888Talk 13:13, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- We are a bit schizophrenic in our attitude to SPA company representatives: the first reaction is often "You're blocked, go away, you can only be unblocked if you promise never, ever to edit about your company", and that is probably appropriate in many cases where people come to spam about their un-notable companies. But on the other hand, WP:BFAQ, WP:COI and WP:BESTCOI, to which we refer people, say things like "if you feel that there is material within an existing article which is incorrect, or not neutral in its tone, please point this out on the article's talk page. Likewise, if you have content which you think should be added, please discuss this on the talk page. Editing articles that you are affiliated with is not completely prohibited; you may do so as specified within the COI guideline" and "If you have a conflict of interest then any changes that could be seen as controversial or not strictly neutral, should be suggested on the relevant talk page or noticeboard first" and "make suggestions on article talk pages and let others decide whether to implement them." So where we have a declared representative of a major company prepared to operate within those guidelines it seems to me reasonable to let them. Better to have company press offices know they can work like that than think they will be blocked at sight and so must operate surreptitiously. I will keep an eye. repeated deletion of my page's contents
Dear Sir/Madam,
The article you have been deleting over and over again is clearly different from the one you dear know it all Jac16888 are referring to, detailing diverse pieces of information which would be clear to you if you were able to read Maltese in the same way I am capable of speaking and reading five languages. Please get off my back as you have really pushed my patience buttons to their limit! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Saltnahamsin (talk • contribs) 23:06, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes well you're pushing my patience too, clearly you speak some English, so have you noticed that every other article here is in English. Know why that is? This is the English Wikipedia, i.e. English articles--Jac16888Talk 23:13, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oh and this time I deleted it for a different reason, a book published in November 2010? complete with reviews and fluffy terms has no place here, regardless of language--Jac16888Talk 23:16, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
And who are you to decree that, other than some busy body with too much time on your hands? some English my backside...I would really love to know what your claim to wiki-police status is. It so happens that there are people who relate with a particular language but still have British or any other English speaking passport, or are you too stuck up to admit that too? One last thing: clearly you have been using some boggled up translator if it cannot differentiate between "published" and to be "published" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Saltnahamsin (talk • contribs) 23:29, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- An unpublished book with a few reviews, no named author and no references hardly warrants an article. And you're still not getting it, the entire point of having different language wikipedias is that each language wikipedia has articles in that language. You're clearly aware of the maltese wikipedia, so why not write it there, or else try writing it in english here, and i won't delete it, at least not right away--Jac16888Talk 23:33, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
reflecting on it all, i find myself admitting you're right. my apologies.

Milan Bubák influeanted a lot of famous young Slovak intelectuals from different field. His books are bestsellers among young people and also among young intelectuals. He is Slovak who succed to be of of vice-bosses in Society Verbum Dei -SVD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_Word_Missionaries -one of the biggest and most influential (and most fastly growing) catholic congregation. I ask you for allowing me to publish my first article at wikipedia. It will encourage me in my future work and contribution in wikipedia. Thanks. Yo, Jac[kass]16888
Hi, you don't see me blanking your user talk page continuously and destroying all the kind messages your friends left you so stop doing it to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:114.76.153.199 and take the protection off my page. Don't abuse your wikipower in this way. If you want to leave me a message then append it to the end of my talk page as all my friends have in the past (though you are clearly no friend of mine). 124.168.79.246 (talk) 13:25, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- The content is inappropriate, stop re-adding it--Jac16888Talk 17:32, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Who decides what content is appropriate for user talk pages, which content is inappropriate, why can't you just edit out the inappropriate content instead of blanking my page and why am I not allowed to blank anyone else's user or user talk pages when I decide to go on my own little power trip? Thanks. 124.168.79.246 (talk) 18:05, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Free 114.76.153.199. All he ever wants in life is to have his own user talk page and you wiki-despots can't stop tearing his dreams apart.71.62.40.245 (talk) 18:41, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Not interested in arguing this with you, you're obviously aware why the content is not allowed and are simply trolling--Jac16888Talk 19:10, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- This isn't how this works. What makes the content on this or other user pages and user talk pages appropriate and the content on my page not? Please do not use your small piece of wikipedia power abusively on other people's personal pages. I need an explanation here and I am in no way trolling. I think you are overstepping your bounds on this encyclopedia and are clearly in the wrong here. Again, do not blank pages, if there is anything on my user talk page that is unacceptable according to a wikipedia policy then simply edit that part out. I don't know of anything that is, though, and other wikipedia admins have seen it and the only thing that was taken out was a wikimedia image of dubious copyright that I had to replace with wikipedia tan. Thanks. 124.168.79.246 (talk) 09:07, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- And don't accuse me of trolling. You are the one that is abusing your power to come onto my user talk page and troll me by removing the content left there by my friends. I am only here posting messages because you continuously vandalised my pages over the course of several months and I want some answers as to why you think this is appropriate behaviour. I don't appreciate the accusation at all. 124.168.79.246 (talk) 09:12, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- I guess I will have to escalate this if you can't point to a wikipedia policy that I have violated. There are several principles of wikipedia conduct, and particularly those for administrators, that you have failed to adhere to. I don't know what you think gives you the right to abuse your privilege like this. 124.168.79.246 (talk) 08:39, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- You're obviously keen to earn yourself a block, probably indef. How can we assist you to achieve this, or would you prefer to just keep working away at it yourself? Andy Dingley (talk) 09:25, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- What gives you that impression? I was not very civil in the titling of this section but I am understandably irritated at his long campaign of abuse leveled against me with no explanation. I just want to know why my user talk page was blanked and locked by an overzealous administrator. The only answer I have is that it was "inappropriate" but I haven't found any content on the page that was not allowed under wikipedia's rules and, if there is something, why can it not just be edited out? I have asked reasonable questions and have received no answer but continuous bullying and vandalism over the period of months. I guess now is when he brings in other administrator friends to silence my questions and cover up this obvious abuse of power. It seems he just has a vendetta against me, for some reason. 124.168.79.246 (talk) 13:39, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Greetings!
This was a deletion credited to you:
15:39, 14 November 2008 Jac16888 (talk | contribs) deleted "Sapphire Thinkers" (WP:PROD, reason was 'non notable band'.)
How could you possibly think that, when it only took 22 months for anyone to notice?! [Smile, it was a good-natured joke....I'm smiling. See?)
Actually I would tend to agree with you. And yet! Someone just pushed a copy of their LP 'From Within' my way and I can't locate much elsewhere. So I've never done this before - and I do not know if it is even possible - but is there a way to 'recall' the page? Or is it really "gone baby gone" ?
Thanks for reply and any info you have.

Surf Club Beach
I saw that you deleted this page, but didn't replace it with anything. I think that it would have been more valuable to have a poorly written description than none at all.
I was directed to the Surf Club Beach page from the Madison, Ct page. Since I will be moving to Madison soon, I wanted to research any amenities provided by the town, especially if there are town beaches (like this one might be).
If you know anything about this beach, can you please update the page you deleted?
Thanks. --Adriennead (talk) 15:19, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- I know nothing about the place, and the article wouldn't have helped you at all. You're wouldn't know this but the content it contained was the following

Source translation
I have reverted your edits to Fritz Diez. When requested by other editors, translations may be added to either a footnote or the talk page. Please see WP:NONENG regarding source translation. Thank you. Cindamuse (talk) 21:29, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm well aware of NONENG, and also how many sources you've been tagging lately. You don't need to request the translation of every single source you come across, its incredibly annoying for those of us who actually do the translating. In this case you're asking for someone to translate 40 pages of pdf, when a quick search shows Diez is mentioned in the document. A source only really needs to be translated if you have reason to believe it goes against the article--Jac16888Talk 21:38, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- No, I'm not requesting translation of 40 pages of text. That is not necessary. What is necessary is a translation of the corresponding text to support the article content. This is inline with content policy on verifiability. Additionally, the request for translation is inline with Wikipedia policy. If you find translating annoying, may I respectfully suggest that you focus your efforts elsewhere? Thank you. Cindamuse (talk) 21:49, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

My Edit on Human Rights Abuses at National Cheng Kung University has been removed several times on the basis of being unsourced. In one edit summary you say that a personal blog is not a source; but there are many public sources (in Chinese) on that blog (http://rdca45.blogspot.com/), regardless whether it's a personal blog or not. Here's a link (http://rdca45.blogspot.com/search/label/Letters%20from%20the%20Ministry%20of%20Education) to one source, letters from the Ministry of Education written over a period of nearly two and a half years urging the university to issue retroactive contracts following a favorable appeal ruling on 8 January 2001. These letters are in both the original Chinese and rough English translations. Surely letters written by an official state agency should be adequate sources, as I understand the word. Hello. You apparently indef blocked TFM. You didn't leave a block message. So, what specifically was it for? If it was the edit at 14:07, I think you've misunderstood some of the context, and I would ask you to please undo your block. Gimmetoo (talk) 16:37, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of my article on Mirza Faizan
Hi Jac16888, This is Sameer. Just now I've noticed that you've deleted my article on Mirza Faizan. Although I have given enough references to prove the notability but in vain. If you have any doubt about the notability of his contribution to Indian aerospace industry, you should first have marked it for review or correction. I have been one of his trainee and to tell you hundreds like me have benefited from his initiatives. I am sure you sitting in other corner of the world have no idea of the importance of his initiatives to Indian aerospace industry and the laurels he has earned from industry leaders. Sitting in other part of the world and hitting the delete button is the easiest thing anyone could do. If wikipedia only contains article on anyone/anything about which everyone knows well, then what is new and learn-able available here? Think over it! Sameer1022 (talk) 18:02, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
You deleted the SRAM si DRAM article I tagged
But you did so for a different reason than the one I cited in my tag (notenglish). I'm not upset or anything, just confused. The article wasn't in English, so why was my tag reasoning wrong? Lithistman (talk) 00:58, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- The not english speedy tag is actually incorrectly named, the criteria it uses is that an article in a foreign language can be speedyily deleted if it exists on (i.e. was copied from) another language wikipedia. However regardless of the language the other deletion criteria we have still apply, and in this case it was the article didn't contain any content we don't already have at Random-access memory and related articles--Jac16888Talk 01:12, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I understand now. So, how would an article be tagged for speedy if it were, say, in a foreign language, about a notable person/place/thing, and had no English counterpart? Lithistman (talk) 07:51, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- It wouldn't be. In those cases the article is listed at WP:PNT, where it is given two weeks to be translated, and if its not translated after that time then it can be prodded--Jac16888Talk 09:27, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Jérôme Coullaré deleted
Good morning, i realize this morning this page has been deleted for an A7 cause. I'm very surprised because we created this page following the successful edition of two books ISBN referenced, sold in various thousands exemplaries, and the coming publication in Usbek & Rica of an anticipation short story in 50,000 copies. This page is necessary to give landmarks on JC's previous books and aims at giving basic information on an author that is published in all bookstores in France. Thank you for considering putting this page back. i would appreciate if you could inform us at the following address: stephane.tella@orange-ftgroup.com. thanks in advance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.177.172.234 (talk) 12:00, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the cleanup
Thanks for the cleanup on that... I must confess, I still haven't figured out where or how to request a revdel for situations like that. Thanks again, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 00:55, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- Wasn't me, I just locked his page. it was User:Bsadowski1 who did the revdel, I've no idea where one would ask for revdel either to be honest--Jac16888Talk 00:57, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
