Project Apollo

edit

I think I've replied to all of the open subjects on the talk page, but I just wanted to individually say thank you for your work on the article and for contributing your ideas on how to make it better. I don't have much free time at the moment but I will be pitching in as and when I can, and certainly taking part in the discussion.

GA would be an excellent goal to aim for. This article is so important that it's a great shame it isn't there already. Hopefully we'll be able to work together and get it done. MLilburne 19:56, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I only started working on this article a few days ago, by the looks of it you've done an awful lot of work on it -- thanks. And yes, GA would be great. --J. Atkins (talk | contribs) 15:36, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
There's a lot of work still to do, but we're getting there. I'm working my way through the article—did some of the boosters section today, and hopefully I'll be able to finish it tomorrow. I still need to get more solid references for the preceding section; unfortunately the CM and LM news references are a bit difficult to get hold of online. And there should probably also be something on the Apollo Guidance Computer. MLilburne 21:00, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey Jatkins. Don't worry too much about the WP:R thing - it's just one of those things we don't do since, ideally, the redirects just work. Most people won't even notice them, plus it's easier on the servers. If there's another rename which creates double-redirects or anything of that nature, please don't hesitate to ask for assistance though. Hope you have a great weekend. Cheers --Seed 2.0 19:24, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. You too :) --J. Atkins (talk | contribs) 10:41, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Tmi-logo.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tmi-logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:16, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tagging of Hills foodland

edit

I'm new to tagging, but I see that they do have a website; www.hillsfoodland.com/, and have been since 1972 operating, perhaps that is enough to not to have speedy. Note: I'm not the person who wrote article. Phgao 14:41, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your message. I (foolishly) assumed it was not notable or merely advertising/junk, but I have since removed the tag and added about two sentences to it and an external link. --J. Atkins (talk - contribs) 14:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
No problems! I've made mistakes too, I wanted to point it out to you, as I was also looking for pages like that, and came upon it and I myself was going to tag it, but I always try to google articles that seem to me which could be notable. Oh and don't call yourslf foolish as "to err is human". Keep up the good work! Phgao 14:57, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
No sweat, it's good that you followed it all up as well. Phgao 15:06, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ironically, it turns out it's been speedily deleted after another user added a tag "no assertion of special significance". --J. Atkins (talk - contribs) 16:20, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Basecamp_logo.png

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Basecamp_logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Seraphim Whipp 00:29, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do you know (nomination)

edit

You do know that we delete a uni society article about every 35 mins (guestimate).... Well done! OK? Victuallers (talk) 19:53, 20 November 2007 (UTC) I'm English.... we do sarcasm much more subtley than this. This is for real. In less that 5 days the message above will be on the wikipedia main page. The fact that 1000's of societies can't even get an article makes you much more remarkable. When I say "Well done" I mean "WELL DONE!" Don't believe me then see this or look at the main page and see who wrote the article about Mr Denman Victuallers (talk) 21:16, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

On November 23, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article CU Spaceflight, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Moonraker

edit

Could you add a citation to the item you added to the Moonraker (disambiguation) page? This is the first I've heard of this and it's possible it could be deleted by anyone thinking it's just speculation (such a link could also be used as a springboard for someone creating an article on this). Thanks! 23skidoo (talk) 00:48, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just done it now. Thanks for pointing it out - since it's in early planning stages there isn't an article about it. Have a good weekend. --J. Atkins (talk - contribs) 12:17, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
No worries. I wonder if it's actually named in honor of the book/movie? I know the term moonraker goes back further but this could be the UK equivalent of NASA naming its first shuttle after Star Trek's Enterprise. (Though you'd think TARDIS might have been a more appropriate name!) 23skidoo (talk) 15:14, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
