Okay, if you're going to behave this way, I'm gonna take this as violation, and yes it's VERY acceptable, whatever. Zhyboo (talk) 13:47, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
I came to you, you were rude to me first "keep digging, I don't care", no one should behave that way, this is not social media! Zhyboo (talk) 14:02, 31 January 2017 (UTC)

Question about revert
Hello. I got the following message from you: "This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to John McCurdy (baseball), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. (...)". I'm not really sure whether or not that was done by a bot, but I just corrected the day of birth in that article, after realising that it didn't make sense and looking at all the sources cited in the article. While it was just a minor change, I believe it follows Wikipedia's guidelines, according to [[1]]: "Correcting inaccuracies, while keeping the rest of the content intact". Thank you, and I apologise in advance if I made some kind of rookie mistake.
Hdk0 (talk) 19:00, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, but when a birthdate is changed so dramatically (in this case, by nearly 50 years), it looks like someone isn't making good-faith edits. I see you correcting an error the original author made. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 19:57, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Bibliothécaires Sans Frontières
Hello, I'm very new to wikipedia, and I wanted to correct the Libraries Without Borders article on the site. Bibliothécaires Sans Frontières means Librarians without borders, a separate, different organization. So, I wanted to change the title to: Bibliothèques Sans Frontières, or Libraries Without Borders as the translation of the page "Bibliothèques Sans Frontières" that already exists in French.
I'm not much of an online editor, but I do translation work and wanted to contribute. I don't know who created this page, but both the English content and the redirects to this page indicate that Bibliothécaires Sans Frontières page title is a typo that should be the English version for Bibliothèques Sans Frontières. Even the links on the page send me to their websites.
I'd really appreciate your help,
Thanks, MattBenoît (talk) 09:47, 24 February 2017 (UTC)M
- I would suggest starting a discussion on the article's talk page about a potential move to a new name. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 13:23, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Hello, the page Khamgaon is in my watchlist. I am planning to edit it once I am done with Lonar crater lake, Buldhana district and few other pages.

Hi Jauerback. I see you blocked User:Soft Soap 'Shonen as "clearly not here to contribute to the encyclopedia". I'm sure your intention was good, but why? There was a clear indication on the userpage that it's an alternate account of mine. I would have put something there under my own name, too, but there was no time, it had already been blocked. You might have asked me. Please unblock. Bishonen | talk 17:04, 24 February 2017 (UTC).
- I'm sorry. I didn't realize it was going to be an alternate account of yours, but rather to harass you. Unblocking now. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 17:06, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Well, I know my socks are pests. But you've deleted the userpage now ? Come on. Clicking on the diff that was there would have made all clear. Bishonen | talk 17:08, 24 February 2017 (UTC).

- @Jauerback and Bishonen: I am wondering, why multiple accounts are required? —usernamekiran (talk) 14:39, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

What do you gain by this?
Here's an article you just edited or reverted something - [2] (my apologies if my form, or lack thereof, offends your sensibilities). The *whole entire first paragraph* appears to be "original research."* Yet, you take out my one simple sentence that doesn't contradict the information already in the article, but adds some elaboration. This is ludicrous to quote your interpretation of all Wikipedia's arcane rules that are notoriously contradictory so that you can feel like the ultimate judge and arbiter of one single sentence. This is absurd. We can finish this if you'd like at terrywfoote@gmail.com. Otherwise, I wish you a happy life with nothing else going on but feeling powerful by removing half a sentence. Terry Foote (talk) 20:28, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
- WTF, I'll humor you by answering even though I doubt you'll understand or believe me. I was patrolling new pages, saw an edit was improper, so I reverted it. I didn't read the rest of the article. Feel free to clean it up. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 23:41, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
- OK, admittedly I should let this go, but I'm a human being with weaknesses and foibles, just trying to get along just like everyone else. Here's the only intention of the half sentence I added on to the climate aspect of Clearwater Beach - if someone didn't know better, you'd thing that Clearwater has a similar climate to Baltimore, as both are classified as humid subtropical. Baltimore experiences blizzards, while Clearwater is at least 85 degrees F for 1/2 the year, making it far more similar to tropical Miami or Havana. I was just offering a clarification, and I think that link from the NOAA offers clear evidence of this. It's not even really an opinion as you look at daily temperatures, and Clearwater is far closer to Miami (in a tropical zone) than Baltimore (in a humid subtropical). I don't think there's ever been one single blizzard in Florida. I gave you such a hard time a week ago admittedly because I'd gone a few days without a good night's sleep (sorry about that, my fault entirely) and it just seems like I can't put in one simple well meaning half sentence without it getting removed, and I simply don't have the time or inclination to justify it. If you feel so strongly about it, by all means, take it out. Terry Foote (talk) 19:33, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

- Thanks for the concern. My real life is just fine. It's my online life I'm sick of, i.e. Facebook, Wikipedia, etc. I was hoping perhaps you'd get me banned for life because I obviously don't have the strength to keep away on my own. Anyway, you really haven't been nice yourself in this whole interaction, so you know the whole thing about stones and glass houses, right? . As I said, you know the replacement edit is absolutely no different in meaning than my "original research?" And you tell me that I'm the mean one. Anyway I'm done Jack Bauer. - P.S. the entire transportation section of the Clearwater Beach article lacks one single footnote, and there is a sentence longer than my original sentence about the weather in"recreation, entertainment and shopping" that isn't footnoted. Ironic, right? I mean, how do any of us know that "On the pier itself is a nightly display of goods sold by local artisans such as jewelry, candles, and other gift items" isn't "original research?" You're slipping Jack Bauer - Wikipedia needs your protection. OK, NOW I'm done. Terry Foote (talk) 14:10, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi there. I see you're checking the vandalism postings. Would you have a moment to look at the many edits made today by User talk:Jagd5? I have searched high and low on the Elections Canada website but have been unable to locate a source for these edits. With this edit the editor added election expenses for "Jacques Turgeon", but when I enter Jacques Turgeon into a search at Elections Canada, it does not bring back the $20,553.28 this editor entered. This has been done on about 100 Wikipedia articles. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:38, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

The proposal was broadly supported, with further discussion required regarding what to do with the existing LTA database and defining access requirements. Such a tool/database formed part of the Community health initiative's successful grant proposal.
- Some clarifications have been made to the community banning and unblocking policies that effectively sync them with current practice. Specifically, the community has reached a consensus that when blocking a user at WP:AN or WP:ANI, it is considered a "community sanction", and administrators cannot unblock unilaterally if the user has not successfully appealed the sanction to the community.

Southpointe Academy page
Hi, I hope I'm doing this right. I'm just learning how to edit pages on Wikipedia and I'm trying to add to the Southpointe Academy wikipedia page. There is a notice there that some of the material has been removed due to a copyright issue. The material in question is taken from the school's own website - does that count as being in the public domain? Alternatively, I can edit the entire section so there is no copyright issue - in order to that, can I remove the copyright issue notice? Thanks! Rejaadar (talk) 18:32, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

- ACTRIAL, a research experiment that restricts article creation to autoconfirmed users, will begin on September 7. It will run for six months. You can learn more about the research specifics at meta:Research:Autoconfirmed article creation trial, while Wikipedia talk:Autoconfirmed article creation trial is probably the best venue for general discussion.
- Following an RfC, WP:G13 speedy deletion criterion now applies to any page in the draftspace that has not been edited in six months. There is a bot-generated report, updated daily, to help identify potentially qualifying drafts that have not been submitted through articles for creation.
- You will now get a notification when someone tries to log in to your account and fails. If they try from a device that has logged into your account before, you will be notified after five failed attempts. You can also set in your preferences to get an email when someone logs in to your account from a new device or IP address, which may be encouraged for admins and accounts with sensitive permissions.
- Syntax highlighting is now available as a beta feature (more info). This may assist administrators and template editors when dealing with intricate syntax of high-risk templates and system messages.
- In your notification preferences, you can now block specific users from pinging you. This functionality will soon be available for Special:EmailUser as well.
- Applications for CheckUser and Oversight are being accepted by the Arbitration Committee until September 12. Community discussion of the candidates will begin on September 18.

- Following a successful proposal to create it, a new user right called "edit filter helper" is now assignable and revocable by administrators. The right allows non-administrators to view the details of private edit filters, but not to edit them.
- Following a discussion about mass-application of ECP and how the need for logging and other details of an evolving consensus may have been missed by some administrators, a rough guide to extended confirmed protection has been written. This information page describes how the extended-confirmed aspects of the protection policy are currently being applied by administrators.
- You can now search for IP ranges at Special:Contributions. Some log pages and Special:DeletedContributions are not yet supported. Wildcards (e.g. 192.168.0.*) are also not supported, but the popular contribsrange gadget will continue to work.
- Community consultation on the 2017 candidates for CheckUser and Oversight has concluded. The Arbitration Committee will appoint successful candidates by October 11.
- A request for comment is open regarding the structure, rules, and procedures of the December 2017 Arbitration Committee election, and how to resolve any issues not covered by existing rules.

Not really a big deal in this particular case since there was only one other previous block on this IP address, but did you intend to only block them for 31 hours? Regards. 198.236.58.11 (talk) 15:28, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I did. Since that block was back in July and this could very easily be another user, escalating blocks after such a long duration isn't always the best option, in my opinion. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 16:11, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi Jauerback, this is Toonight2Day, I made the revert to the Arthur Shewsbury page, just letting you know, I forgot to log in. Yeah it's a book by John Williamson, you can look it up on the net.Toonight2Day (talk) 04:36, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

Problem editor
I noticed you recently left a caution at ReeceTheHawk. I left a caution as well which was deleted. This editor seems to be doing some very awkward editing which amounts to complete vandalism. Could you have a look? Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 01:59, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, I just now noticed this. I don't know how I missed it. Sorry. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 00:04, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
ANI Experiences survey
The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (led by the Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) is conducting a survey for en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.
The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:
If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

ArbCom 2017 election voter message
Hello, Jauerback. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
Hiding offensive username
Hey, Jauerback. Thanks for attending to this report of mine. Sorry to be bothering you for it, but I think the policy says offensive usernames should be hidden from diffs too, right? I'd be much obliged if you could please take care of this too. Thx. FleetCommand (Speak your mind!) 13:51, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – December 2017
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2017).
- Following a request for comment, a new section has been added to the username policy which disallows usernames containing emoji, emoticons or otherwise "decorative" usernames, and usernames that use any non-language symbols. Administrators should discuss issues related to these types of usernames before blocking.
- Wikimedians are now invited to vote on the proposals in the 2017 Community Wishlist Survey on Meta Wiki until 10 December 2017. In particular, there is a section of the survey regarding new tools for administrators and for anti-harassment.
- A new function is available to edit filter managers which can be used to store matches from regular expressions.
- Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is open until Sunday 23:59, 10 December 2017 (UTC). There are 12 candidates running for 8 vacant seats.
- Over the last few months, several users have reported backlogs that require administrator attention at WP:ANI, with the most common backlogs showing up on WP:SPI, WP:AIV and WP:RFPP. It is requested that all administrators take some time during this month to help clear backlogs wherever possible. It should be noted that AIV reports are not always valid; however, they still need to be cleared, which may include needing to remind users on what qualifies as vandalism.
- The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative is conducting a survey for English Wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works (i.e. which problems it deals with well and which problems it struggles with). If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be emailed to you via Special:EmailUser.

I edit conflicted with you closing that ANI thread, saw you reverted yourself and then applied mine - I think the issue with your close was "Result=" vs. "result=" -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 17:30, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
- Really? It's just the capital letter? Jeez. I need to reread how to use that template. Thanks. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 17:31, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
