Removal of the appendix as a fatal design flaw
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_poor_design#Fatal_flaws
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Argument_from_poor_design#Appendix_again
You said "Mainstream news is known for quoting out of context and getting their science wrong." when I cited a mainstream news website, but I took the citation directly from the Vermiform appendix wiki page, so should we not remove that citation from the wiki if it is not a reliable source?
My argument against the appendix being a "fatal design flaw" is that it has a known function and only gets infected because of fecal stagnation due to low pressure on the intestines using western toilets. Do you consider the following source for this reliable, since I researched it using scholar.google.com?
https://www.google.com/patents/US20110099701
It says 'Advantages of Squatting and Near Squatting 1. Makes elimination faster, easier and more complete. This helps prevent "fecal stagnation," a prime factor in colon cancer, appendicitis and inflammatory bowel disease.'
IMeasureByWeight (talk) 10:32, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- IMeasureByWeight What sitting or squatting affecting the vermiform appendix got to do with the vermiform appendix being a vestigial organ? Either it is or is not a vestigial organ. The effects of sitting or squatting have nothing do do with it being vestigial. Please stick to one topic.
- Just because a bad citation is used in one Wikipedia article doesn't mean that it is usable elsewhere. The use of a citation needs to be qualified for each use. On Argument from poor design, citations should be from good quality, peer reviewed papers. Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 00:08, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- I am not saying that the appendix is not a vestigial organ but the topic of the list is not to list vestigial organs but to list fatal flaws in a supposed design. But the Appendix is most certainly not a fatal flaw, simply because both arguments used in the article are utterly false: "The human appendix is a vestigial organ with no known purpose." That is simply wrong and we could use the following peer-reviewed source to prove it: Journal of Theoretical Biology saying: "[...] we propose that the human appendix is well suited as a “safe house” for commensal bacteria, providing support for bacterial growth and potentially facilitating re-inoculation of the colon in the event that the contents of the intestinal tract are purged following exposure to a pathogen." The second argument is: "However, appendicitis, an infection of this useless organ, is a certain death without medical intervention." While this is true for the most part, the infection does not occur naturally, it is the result of fecal stagnation using the wrong kind of toilets. And I found two sources for this so far: https://www.google.com/patents/US20110099701 saying: 'Advantages of Squatting and Near Squatting 1. Makes elimination faster, easier and more complete. This helps prevent "fecal stagnation," a prime factor in colon cancer, appendicitis and inflammatory bowel disease.' and http://www.webhealthcentre.com/HealthyLiving/child_care_7yrs.aspx saying: "One cause that has been postulated for appendicitis is the incomplete evacuation of motion. Children should never be told to hurry up while passing motion, for this may deter complete evacuation. The Indian type of toilets is more conducive to complete evacuation than the Western toilets. With the western style closets becoming popular in India, there is a risk of increased incidence of appendicitis." I think WebHealthCentre is somewhat "peer reviewed" stating in the "About Us" section: "Free online consultation for the various specialties on this site is provided by independent consultants and over three hundred leading doctors attached to premier hospitals. Comprehensive information on various health-related topics has been provided by noted medical professionals." If you think we should use neither of the two sources then I'll try to find others but you should decide that. But I think I was able to show that both premises in the article, saying that the appendix is a fatal design flaw, are false and the appendix does therefore not constitute a fatal design flaw. You wouldn't call our eyes a fatal design flaw because they develop infections after you poured dirt all over them. The dirt being an analogy for not using the natural squatting position for defecation and therefore stagnating fecal matter, dangerous to the intestines. But in any case, we should at least move the appendix to "other flaws", and replace it's supposed self-inflammation and uselessness with an argument maybe concerning it's shape but it most certainly does not belong in the category of "fatal flaws". Cheers IMeasureByWeight (talk) 09:22, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Reverting my posts
Your reverted my posts, as not RS. Yet most of what your reverted was just word flow. Putting the overall poll result prior to the broken down parts of the results, as is normally done. That has nothing to do with RS. If you feel the entire article is not RS then that is another discussion, as the article is already cited material, no matter its quality. Kenndal Zimmerman 2008, is cited in Doran Zimmerman, and its poll is the majority of the paper. So while Student thesis are not normally considered RS, it is the source of the poll in Doran Zimmerman. I will revert unless you can provide a legit reason not to. Jim,
You reverted my edits on this page ostensibly because they were unsoursed. It must be noted that much or all of the content I edited was also unsoursed. The article as it stood was absurdly unbalanced as was more akin to a propoganda piece written by lobbyists on a controversial and divisive community issue than of a balanced reference piece. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.219.116.59 (talk) 04:21, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

I think User_talk:4.31.191.42 may be a good faith editor who doesn't know what he's doing wrong
Hi, Jim1138! I just reverted an edit to a BLP that looked for all the world like a good faith edit (with lots of work put into it) but didn't have any sources. Because the page was semi-protected because of additions of unsourced material, I reverted. I went to leave a note on the user's talk page User_talk:4.31.191.42 to tell him why I'd reverted all his work and what he could do to fix it and resubmit, and discovered that in the six months this user has been editing, this has happened multiple times and resulted in a block and multiple warnings. I am wondering it this is a case of a new user who has no clue he even HAS a talk page and hasn't seen any of these warnings and maybe has no clue what he's doing wrong? I saw that no one had ever welcomed the person, so I put a welcome message in. But I'm wondering if there's something else someone can do to get the message through? Based on what he's been editing I'm wondering if this is a young user whose first language isn't English who is making good faith edits and can't figure out why none of them show up on the pages he's editing. For instance, that Stardust Award to Tabu -- she did win that. It wasn't vandalism -- it just wasn't sourced. valereee (talk) 10:35, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
Use of ROMEX in "Electrical wiring in North America"
Hi Jim1138, I am writing concerning a series of edits that were recently made to a line in the "Electrical Wiring in North America" entry. Specifically, there is some concern surrounding the parenthetical statement “often referred to by the brand name Romex” in the sentence immediately preceding the link to footnote seven. I have reviewed the citation, page 9-86 of the 1987 version of Croft and Summers’ American Electrician’s Handbook, and it does not state that NM cable is “often referred to by the brand name Romex.” In fact, the cited page makes no mention of ROMEX brand NM cable at all. ROMEX is correctly identified as a brand name in the parenthetical but there is no evidence in any of the citations to support the statement that NM cable is “often” referred to as ROMEX. If amenable, would it be possible to remove the parenthetical statement entirely, or perhaps have it changed to a general statement such as “ROMEX is a trademarked brand of NM cable manufactured by the Southwire Company”?
Additionally, would it be possible to change the sentence “Romex type non-metallic sheathed cable” underneath the photo of ROMEX brand cable to properly identify ROMEX as a trademark, such as “Romex brand non-metallic sheathed cable”?
I believe that these changes will provide the reader a more accurate view of the distinction between the generic classification “non-metallic sheathed cable” and the ROMEX brand of NM cable, while still avoiding what may be perceived as promotional language. Thank you for your assistance.
CES30308 (talk) 14:03, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- CES30308 I would agree that Romex is probably used inappropriately. Romex does seem to be a wp:commonname, so it probably should be mentioned early in the paragraph so more people understand. I would say that one mention early would be sufficient. Googling "Romex" returns 582,000 hits, "NM cable" returns 79,000, "non metallic sheathed cable" returns 47,300. Will "Romex" be a Murphy bed? (last sentence in History). Cheers Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 18:01, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- CES30308 I removed "Romex" from the image. I also unlinked Romex as it goes to a disambiguation page. The image name is File:Romex cable.agr.jpg. There is also an article Thermoplastic-sheathed cable which has the Romex image. The caption does not contain "Romex". See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks. It seems, but don't quote me on this, that adding "is a trademark of" is not generally used. For instance there is no IBM is a trademark of... You might find this in lessor viewed articles as someone with knowledge of WP:MOS may not visit or may not want to spend time on the article. Best Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 18:11, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- Jim1138 Thanks, Jim1138. Removing ROMEX from the image seems appropriate, but leaving “often referred to by the brand name Romex” in the entry without support from authority seems somewhat unnecessary and misleading, as it implies that ROMEX is also used as a generic term. Additionally, removing the link to the ROMEX disambiguation page, which clearly indicates that ROMEX is a registered trademark of the Southwire Company, only serves to further confuse the public as to ROMEX’s status as a registered trademark. Further, the number of hits returned by a Google search is not an indicator that a term is generic (e.g., a Google search for “Pepsi” returns 90,400,000 hits, while a Google search for “soft drink” only returns 11,400,000). As you no doubt know from your “Murphy Bed” citation, trademark owners have an obligation take steps prevent generic use of their trademarks in order to avoid genericide (See "Avoiding Genericization" in Generic Trademark). Unlike the Murphy Bed scenario which resulted in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruling that the mark “Murphy Bed” had succumbed to genericide, ROMEX is actively enforced by the Southwire Company and there has been no judgement levied against Southwire regarding ROMEX to support the implication made by the parenthetical. The goal in reaching out to you regarding these edits is to reduce any potential consumer confusion regarding ROMEX’s status as a registered trademark, as Southwire is obligated to do under United States law. Perhaps the most appropriate course of action would be to remove the unsupported parenthetical statement altogether? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
- CES30308 (talk) 20:21, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
- CES30308 I see that Coca-Cola mentions trademark, IBM does not. It's probably how concerned the trademark owners are with Generic trademark#Trademark erosion.
- People order a "Coke", "Pepsi", or "Sprite". Rarely do they ask for a "soft drink". WP:COMMONNAME may apply. I don't think Wikipedia is bound to state that "Romex" is a trademark, but I'm not an expert in this area.
- This is getting beyond me. May I suggest you ask at wp:teahouse. Someone there should have more expertise on the matter. Best of luck! Cheers Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 00:27, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Please read, not necessarily urgent but very important - Henry Gibson
You've recently made an edit to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Henry_Gibson_%28percussionist%29&oldid=663648394,removing the content I added because I have no site able sources to prove what I said.I can't unfortunately, unless if I found and looked through many family photo albums,I just wanted to add it however because it is true.Whether you believe me or not it's more or less a small correction of missing information and a small tribute to the passing of my grandmother "Marcene Banks" who had died in my families apartment February 5,2015 around 7:26 pm eastern time in the state of Georgia at the age of 68.She was my grandmother, and her husband as she said and my mother said was Henry Gibson,or in other words Master Henry Gibson, the percussionist.I can't remember much of her stories but she would say about how she complained about him playing the bongos all the time. She did also say that he/she divorced and Henry moved to Sweden and that was the last she heard of him.Anyway someday I will take time to look into a album and upload it to prove to you that this is true.Another thing to add,I believe they met in Chicago, then they birthed a child by the name of Maja, who later had my sister,my other sister, and then me.
I hope you'll think about this,I just wanted to let you know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.117.193.117 (talk) 07:20, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- 68.117.193.117 Matteo101man Wikipedia has a rather strict wp:verifiability policy. As one cannot easily verify the credentials of editors, the only way to ensure accuracy is to require that significant information have their wp:reliable sources be wp:cited. People want to verify the accuracy of information and access further information on a topic. I notice that there are no citations on Henry Gibson. That is not good. I did a quick check on All Music / Henry Gibson but nothing clicked. This article is in desperate need of citations. Know of any books, web pages (RS) which could be added? You can start a thread on talk:Henry Gibson and use a

Yo waz up Jim1138 How You This is Nu Yawk Sity
Yo waz up Jim1138 How You This is Nu Yawk Sity. Now I just wanna know right and oh yeah I must remind you that I'm still new to wikipedia right. But here is my question's.
Number 1. How much do you know about Real Hip Hop? It can be East Coast Hip Hop, Southern Hip Hop, Midwest Hip Hop, West Coast Hip Hop? And I do mean Real Hip Hop know you don't you or J D.
Number 2. Are you and J D so bored and have absolutely nothing to do but going around and Deleting My Hard Work and other people's hard work? So y'all that bored hun? Just going around acting like y'all the Police or something hun? So you and J D get a little bit of authority on wikipedia and y'all two just take full advantage of it hun? Now why is that? Because it's the same reason why people become cops. Why because they been pick on all they life growing up so when so they get the badge and uniform they tend to hide behind that with they authority just like you and J D hide behind the computer all day. Why because y'all don't have no life nor do y'all have control over y'all own life so you and J D take full advantage of people on the computer. Because in person and not hiding behind the computer all day bullying people. Y'all are really timid and not built like that real talk. So please you and J D do me a favor leave my and other people's hard word alone Please Thank You.
Number 3. shoulda been Number 1 to me: Do you and J D own Wikipedia because last time I checked neither one of y'all is Jimmy Wales the co-founder of Wikipedia. So the answer to that question is NO. So once again PLEASE YOU AND J D AND OTHER'S LIKE Y'ALL LEAVE MY HARD WORK ALONE PLEASE THANK YOU. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nu Yawk Sity (talk • contribs) 04:36, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

- I reverted it back to Mazabi.

- Another IP restored it to Mazabi about 17 minutes later.
- Gurshanekapoor changed it to Jatt with a ref.
- Back to Mazabi about 11 hours later.
- It goes on...

Backyard Cricket
Hey Jim1138,
I think you qualify as the author of Backyard Cricket, from what I see of the revision history. (Yes, I observe that you simply reverted a previous edit, but still...) I have removed most of the content on this page since it is unsourced, inconsistent and seems ridiculous. I've left the portions that seem acceptable to me. Please feel free to revert if you disagree.
I've also nominated the page for deletion, since I think bots are likely to flag my action as vandalism and revert automatically.

Hi Jim1138. Just to let you know, regarding this, I checked some sources and it appears that the IP editor was actually correct (although of course ought to have cited a reliable source). Thanks, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 01:39, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Providence Page Edits
This is in response to the recent reversion you made of the section entitled Controversies in the Proceedings Against Jung Myeong Seok.
The section in question which you reverted contained factual information pertinent to the page.
1. Major media was found in a court of law to have doctored Jung's sermons and issued an official letter of apology. 2. The individual who organized the lawsuit for which Jung is currently serving a sentence was himself found to have extorted the Jung and the CGM(with published pictures of his extortion letters). 3. One plaintiff admitted to fabricating her allegations against Jung and was found guilty of perjury.
This information was published in at least 7 independent publications with no relation to religion or the CGM. The information is relevant and belongs on the page.
The dispute resolution proceedings from a few months back did not indicate support for the changes; however as facts precede opinions per WP:FAPO, the information belongs on the page regardless of personal opinion on the subject matter.
Moreover, the edits were on the page for almost two months without any opposition.
A new thread has been started on the talk page. If you have interest in the subject, please direct your concerns there in a timely manner. If no agreement can be reached, we can request for a third party comment.
Thank you.

Peugeot 301 (2012)
Hello Jim1138. I am writing to you as to the changes you have made to the Peugeot 301 (2012) article. I would like to point out that in mid 2013, the 301 began production in Wuhan, China. This is also backed up by part of the 301's article saying so as well as Peugeot's deal with other Chinese manufacturers. Also, just recently in this month, Peugeot signed a deal with Iran Khodro to build the 301 as well as the 2008 in Tehran, Iran. As I am also new to editing on Wikipedia, I do not know how to add the reason why you deleted part of the article. I would also like to add that it was basic research on where the 301 is sold as it is currently sold globally. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tjl2051 (talk • contribs) 22:47, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Sloan Kettering.
Hi.
Well, I only posted what was already present in wikipedia anyway. Taken from Ricky Wilson's entry and with a source in the page itself. It reads "On October 12, 1985,[8] in the Memorial Sloan–Kettering Cancer Center, Wilson finally succumbed to the illness, at the age of 32." Not good enough? I tried. But thanks for the reply. 00:18, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

Mountain Goats page
I had edited the Mountain Goats bio to include Folk Punk in their genera section. While this is not confirmed by any particular source, I happen to have listen to everything they've released and can say that they do count as folk punk. as John darniell often played early work with only an acoustic guitar, recorded on a cassette recorder, uses repetitve rhythms, and was known to whine or shout his vocals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:548:4001:6A70:226:6CFF:FE23:E63A (talk) 04:12, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

Dersim Rebellion
I decided to put in the genocide and forced migration in the "result" section as it was a significant result to the rebellion. Most would argue that its more important than the rebellion itself, as evidently more civilians got killed than rebels. A citation would be unnecessary as the exact information can be found later on in the article. SpartanOrder (talk) 10:07, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
I dont know what your authority is here, or who i have to clear this with, but i insist on keeping the edit. It is generally accepted that casualties of unarmed, innocent civilians in the suppression of the Dersim rebellion far outshadowed the amount of rebels killed. The article itself provides adequate background information. Having read the talk page of the Dersim Rebellion i can also attest to the fact that there are many bigoted users who are trying to push an agenda, mainly the denial of the Dersim Genocide/Massacre.

Red Book of Appin
Where is the hoax or misinformation here?
The Red Book had been dictated by Vlad Tepes himself to some monk Kirill. If it is so or not, we cannot say, but the devil-worshipping of the great romanian general is an unquestionable fact, which no serious black adept can deny. It is well known that this document, enwrapped in blood-red leather of some unknown creature (according to rumors , that was one of lower demons, invoked by Vlad specially for this purpose), was kept by the english merchant Joseph Appin (from this comes the title of the book), who died in 1689 and bequeathed to bury it together with him. Having accomplished their father`s behest, two of his sons afterwards digged his grave out in order to get the access to the source of terrible transcendent knowledge, but found no book there. It is possible that the book had been stolen by some offspiring of Vlad, and since then it was imparted from father to son until the year 1869, when it got into the hands of the Hungarian secret community <Tremalosh>, which afterwards turned to one of branches of the Great Black Lodge under the abbreviation A.C.C. The copy had been imparted to the Pontiphic of the Lodge Johan Kellenheim in 1901 and translated to polish and german. The further destinity of the original is unknown. It`s written in the purest version of the enochian language, in comparison with which the language of John Dee is just a pitiable senseless murmuring, and not with enochian symbols but with latin letters, which confirms the version of writing it by the monk, unfamiliar with the Heavenly Language. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mephiles 2.0 (talk • contribs) 19:57, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi Jim, thanks for your message. Could you please elaborate which of the general notability criteria this entry fails specifically? Thanks! Finnwatch ry (talk) 08:30, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- Finnwatch ry I could not determine which notability criteria in wp:Notability (people) it falls under. You would best state which criteria in talk:Andy Hall (activist). An administrator, not I, will make the determination. Partially, by reading the talk page. Cheers Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 08:37, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- Jim1138 Thanks for the response & explanation Jim. For the administrator - I think talk:Andy Hall (activist) would fall under 'significant, interesting, or unusual enough to deserve attention or to be recorded' - mainly because of the court cases that Natural Fruit has brought against him and for which he could face up to 7 years in prison. The charges have been questioned by UN independent human rights experts, for the possibility that they may have a chilling effect on other human rights defenders and civil society activists working in Thailand and elsewhere to expose human rights violations perpetrated by non-State actors, including business enterprises. Over 300,000 people have signed a petition calling for the charges brought against him to be dropped. Etc. Happy to provide more information and / or amend the entry along these lines if deemed necessary to meet the notability test! Thanks again. Finnwatch ry (talk) 09:07, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Rico Austin – Mi Vida Loca (Biography)
|
---|
Born and raised in Southwestern Idaho, Rico is the oldest of five boys, growing up in an area that was ripe for several adventures with his four younger brothers and numerous cousins. Rico grew up near farmland that produced potatoes, hay, hops, grain and corn. There were several fruit orchards and vineyards in the Snake River Valley as well, due to the extraordinary fertile soil. A few years out of high school he moved to (the big city) of Boise and enrolled at Boise State University as a student and walk-on football player. However, he could not escape the allure of traveling the world and began writing and storing his experiences in hopes of someday becoming a novelist and writer. He began reading every chance he had. From contemporary novels to classical literature, Rico’s love of storytelling was uncontrollable. He appeared occasionally at Boise’s former Comedy Club as a stand-up comedian, retelling his stories of growing up in a comedic fashion. Rico earned an Associate Degree in Marketing and Sales from BSU. After a few years of low level management positions, Rico moved to Hawaii for a short time, surfing the waters of Kaua’i and enjoying the outdoors. He then moved to back to Idaho. In 1991, Rico moved to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and continued his education receiving a Bachelors of Business Administration in International Business at Grand Canyon University, named the “Outstanding International Business Graduate of 1995.” That same year he was also selected as “Mr. Future Business Executive” at the State Leadership Conference which included all universities in the State of Arizona. The summer before graduating, Rico went to Vilnius, Lithuania, and taught English (ESL). During fall semester of his senior year at GCU, Rico attended Staffordshire University in England where he also started on the American Football Team for the Staffordshire Stallions. Rico finished his Masters, an MBA in International Management at Thunderbird School of Global Management with a focus on the Latin American Region and the Spanish language. He did this while working full-time as a feature writer and freelance journalist at the T-Bird school paper, DAS TOR. Rico wrote a few of his articles at DAS TOR especially for the foreign students of Latin America. Former Vice President Dan Quayle served as an Invited Interim Professor by the Thunderbird School President, Dr. Roy Herberger for two semesters, and Rico was fortunate enough to be one of 16 students selected to attend his class.
Hollywood has even had an encounter with Rico. Those who watched Baywatch with the beautiful Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff, might recall Rico Austin in a cameo appearance in the episode, “Night of the Dolphin” in 1997, where he played the role of a drug lord on a huge yacht with sexy chicks. He and his graduate classmates watched the aired episode in the “old clock tower hanger” in the TV lounge. He was invited back for another episode by casting director Susie Glickman, but declined due to a conflict with finals at Thunderbird. Rico chose education over stardom; when questioned why, he responded, “No one can ever take your education away. Everything else can come and go and, most likely will.” Rico also acted in a commercial for the local market in Boise, ID, as a construction worker in This Old House, sponsored by BMC West. Rico is an avid fisherman and has traveled far and wide to cast his line into many waters; including streams, lakes, ponds, rivers, seas and oceans. He has worked for a few international companies as both a sales manager and a marketing manager. In his spare time he has worked as a land developer and was a licensed Realtor in Arizona. Should you decide to visit Arizona, Rico would be more than happy to show you around his Great State of Arizona through his children’s book, ARIZONA Is Where I Live. Rico is happily married to a graphic artist from Minnesota. They make their homes in the “Land of the Sun,” Scottsdale, Arizona, and San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. He and wife Connie enjoy snorkeling, hiking, hanging by their swimming pool and traveling to the different beaches of Mexico while sipping on a cold cerveza or margarita blended with Rico’s favorite TEQUILA. Rico Austin first began writing seriously as a seventh grader at age 13. He was elected as reporter for the Eager Beaver 4-H Club in Marsing, Idaho, and started submitting weekly articles to the local newspaper. Rico then was elected reporter for the local FFA chapter his freshman and sophomore year, continuing to expand his writing ability. As a freshman, Rico took third place in the Marsing High School essay contest titled American Beef Farmers. He later would later become a professional freelance and feature writer for DAS TOR newspaper at Thunderbird Global School of Management from 1996 – 1998. Rico also won the first and only writing essay at DAS TOR in March 1997. The essay asked contestants to propose ways for Thunderbird to be improved. Rico used his humor, knowledge of several countries that he had visited and innovation to secure the winning essay. One of his most serious assignments and pieces of journalism was reporting on the Winterim class 97, “US Foreign Economic Policy” in Washington DC including the opening of the 105th Congress and the Inauguration of the President of the United States - Mr. Bill Clinton. Rico was selected for the May 19th, 2013 issue to represent Arizona in fellow author, Annette Synder’s popular blog, Fifty Authors from Fifty States, which spotlights writing professionals across the Fifty United States. http://annettesnyder.blogspot.com/2013/05/arizona-i-know-about-grand-canyon.html He was again chosen to represent his home state of Idaho on March 23, 2014. http://annettesnyder.blogspot.com/2014/03/rico-austins-private-idaho.html http://annettesnyder.blogspot.com Rico was also chosen from among several hundred writers and bloggers to help compile a booklet with 13 other prominent authors. How to Create Credibility as a Freelancer - 70 Tips from a Collection of Experts was published in December 2009. Favorite movie, Gone with the Wind Favorite comedies, Hangover” & “The Wolf of Wall Street Rico’s favorite books are: John Steinbeck’s East of Eden Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea J.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit David Stuart’s The Guaymas Chronicles Jack London’s Call of the Wild E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web Wilson Rawls’ Where the Red Fern Grows
Rico’s first novel, MY BAD TEQUILA was published in September 11, 2010. His first children’s book, ARIZONA Is Where I Live was published February 14, 2013. This was the same day as Arizona’s 101st Birthday. Rico’s autobiography/memoir In the Shadow of ELVIS, Perils of a Ghostwriter was published April 26, 2013. Son of the KING, an ELVIS paradox unveiled is Rico’s fourth book and is a biography published in February, 2014. Rico recently finished his fifth book, Author, Artist & Anyone’s Personal Marketing Guide to Financial Success with 11 Proven Promotions including Blogs and Social Media in March, 2015. Rico completed his other fifth book (technically, his sixth), which is an extension or addition of his previous marketing guide. Entrepreneur, Realtor & Anyone’s Personal Marketing Guide to Financial Success with 10 Proven Promotions including Blogs and Social Media in June, 2015. Lucky book number seven is Rico’s latest work as a wordsmith. This mystery is a non-fiction dog story which captures the true, incredible kidnapping of Lucky, a poodle mix and the heart of a Mexican community in the towns of San Carlos, Guaymas, Hermosillo, Obregon & Empalme in trying to get Lucky back home to his owner. Mexico got Lucky in the 2nd half of 2015. In May, 2014, Rico joined the Drivers and Racing Crews of the NORRA Mexican 1000 to write a travel /race book to accompany the documentary film that will be screened and made of the Baja race. Rico was invited and chosen by the sponsors of the race and the documentary film maker to write of this adventure of which he is currently working on. Next on the list is a self-help book for teenage boys raised by single parents or from broken homes. This book will be a labor of love, in hopes that if by reading this book, it can make a positive and great difference in young men’s lives. This Author of five different genres of his first five books will most likely be the first author to have written his first seven or eight books all of different genres. And then, finally a return to My Bad Tequila the sequel, and quite possibly turning it into a trilogy of which his fans are greatly anticipating. “I have eight simple sentences of which I live by that cover most of my philosophy for and of life; each written by a different author during a different time; all profound.” – Rico Austin “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” (Matthew 7:12) – Bible “The harder I work, the luckier I get.” – Henry Ford “In order to write about life, first you must live it.” – Ernest Hemingway “Never, never, never give up.” – Winston Churchill “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” – Edmund Burke “Every rose has its thorn,” – Poison with Bret Michaels “You’ll see the true reflection of me when the tequila bottle is empty.” – Rico Austin “Screw me once, shame on you; screw me twice, shame on me.” – (screwed) Author unknown |

Many thanks! I took out the quotes and went for paragraph form descriptions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marrkkymarc (talk • contribs) 02:46, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Many thanks : @Jim1138:, I edited the Yevgeniy Fiks page, took out the quotes, and created paragraph-style descriptions. Any ideas on how we can get the page reviewed so that the sign on top that says this reads like promotional content is taken off? Marrkkymarc (talk) 17:58, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
- Marrkkymarc I resized the images. The recommended size is 220px, I made it a bit larger: 240px. People can easily click on and enlarge images.
- You might look at other artists with similar standing and style, especially ones tagged as Wikipedia:Featured articles. They are generally well-written. Though there quality often fades after many minor edits.
- Also, I added alt= text see WP:ALT and WP:CAPTION the Homosexuality is Stalin's Atom Bomb image is likely too long.
- I would suggest asking someone in the wp:teahouse. This is not my area of expertise. Looks better! Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 19:42, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
