Jessica Jones image

Why did you upload the exact same thing and replace it? There was no need, and now the original file with its history of the previous logos has been deleted and that needs to be restored. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:07, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

Because that image was PNG, and you cannot overwrite a file of a different extension. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:11, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
But it was the exact same image you just upload. So I still fail to see the need to do so or why you did. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:20, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
Picture clarity varies. In almost every server I open, PNG images appear blurry. I think they should best be used when the image has transparency. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:19, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

CSD declined for Adaptations of Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Hey Kailash, I contested/declined the CSD tag you placed on Adaptations of Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde because it was moved from this title to the current one (with periods) five years ago. The move therefore does not seem uncontroversial. Best, Airplaneman 16:49, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Historical exchange rate

One random website gives this: http://www.paper-dragon.com/1939/exchange.html. I do not know how reliable is that website. In old film related articles, we've used Statistical Abstract of the United States of that year or the following year as a source for exchange rate. Please see, for example, Explanatory Notes (note a) in Mother India, which mentions the exchange rate in 1957.--Dwaipayan (talk) 14:20, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Dwaipayanc, the credibility of that site is questionable. Hence, I have used this one. Its' credibility may also be questioned, but the "about" page reads that the site's mission is to "make available to the public the highest quality and most reliable historical data on important economic aggregates, with particular emphasis on "nominal (current-price) measures, as well as real (constant-price) measures." Does it look credible to you? Kailash29792 (talk) 08:29, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
difficult to say. One thing in favor of the Measuring Worth website is their list of advisors, which contains names of scholars from reputed universities. I guess it's ok for now.--Dwaipayan (talk) 04:00, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Your reversion at Fantastic Four (2015 film)

Hello:

You reverted (twice) the addition of the below-expectation performance of the Fantastic Four movie leading to 20th Century Fox reconsidering its sequel. The second time, you noted, "As per http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-fantastic-four-flops-814123, the sequel is still happening"

That's not at all what that link suggests -- in fact, it supports my addition that Fox is re-considering its options, vis-a-vis its other Marvel properties in development:

"No one's sure what the film's start means for the sequel, which is already dated for June 2017.
"While we're disappointed, we remain committed to these characters and we have a lot to look forward to in our Marvel universe," said Fox domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson, declining to comment specifically on Fantastic Four 2.
There's been speculation that Fox could incorporate the Fantastic Four characters into the X-Men series."

--HidariMigi (talk) 14:53, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Add what you want, but no speculation or rumours please. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:16, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Blue

Hey Kailash29792! I have real doubts about the source([2]) used for Blue in this article. It is because it states that Mughal-e-Azam cost 12 cr. which is outrageously higher than any other source. Waiting for your reply. Josephjames.me (talk) 15:03, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Okkadu

Hi Kailash. This 16 August, i could finally find a comprehensive article about this film's production after waiting for a long time in Sakshi newspaper. I have no plans to make it big, but at least make it a better one. But, is the Tamil version a xerox copy including the title? I'm unaware! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:18, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Obviously not! That was a joke comment by me, and the makers of Ghilli obviously bought the remake rights, so any similarities between Ghilli and Okkadu is legally fine. But "Ilayathalapathy" Vijay and his films are often mocked at by audiences because most of them are very similar to each other, they are clichéd and lack originality. However, if the makers of a film buy remake rights, no-one has the right to accuse them of plagiarism. But again, the "xerox copy".comment by me was just a joke. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:30, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
I watched Tevar among the remakes of Okkadu. It was devoid of all the sensibilities the original had. I find the original more interesting because the hero is not a heroic person. Anyways, IMHO Okkadu was the first proper masala film from Mahesh (after a beautiful film like Murari) and the films of Vijay, which i saw (the last one being Jilla), were truly routine. I just wonder how Jilla was a hit in Telugu! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:50, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Hey!

I am getting sick and i think i will too soon leave here. This article was passed with no issue of neutrality. I dont want to write lenghts about it bcoz i have my studies. I wrote that article from scrap and took it to GA, unlike others who choose an already ready article and just tweak a bit and take it to GA. You can see the GA revciew. Krimuk added that review just to show Chopra was criticised and all. But dude the article never said Chopra did a meryl. So where is the neutrality? Also, the article uses only indian reviews and thats it. There is no need to add more review like other articles saying domestic and international reception.Krish | Talk 11:25, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Perhaps you are right. But if anyone was aiming for the article to become FA, international reviews may seem necessary to help expand the article/showcase the film's significance and wide reach. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:27, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
FYI, I was/am going to start work on it for FL. I will take all my GAs to FAs and the articles will appear on their release dates on main page. The film does not have a rating on Meta and Tomatoes, but who cares. The problem is finding a negative review of the film, which i will only when i start to work on it. Also, the critical reception sys about the whole film and not performances. Well, let's see what can happen at the FL or PR.Krish | Talk 11:34, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

My username is NOT 'MANI RATNAM', but 'ManiRatnamAvargal'. The Tamil word 'Avargal' makes it a third person reference. If you still insist on a name change, do guide me through the procedure, as I am unsure whether I can manually change it myself.

I would prefer the name to be changed to 'ManiRatnamRasigan'. 'Rasigan' is again a Tamil word, which means 'FAN'. Another option is 'IndianCinemaRasigan'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ManiRatnamAvargal (talkcontribs) 10:49, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Correction Sir. Baradwaj Rangan says a musical trope from Europe was used. A trope is a signature, in this case a musical signature. That is not to be confused with an orchestra troupe. Technically, the Baahubali duology has two feature length films. And the following Wikipedia article implies, two-film franchises qualify as 'Film Series'.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_film_series_with_two_entries

I don't want to revert your edit again, as it may cause a misunderstanding between us. If you are convinced, please do consider naming the article as 'Baahubali (film series)'. Only if you are convinced. Let's not have a move war.IndianCinemaRasigan 20:58, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Let's be clear on something, IndianCinemaRasigan, List of film series with two entries is a list article that contains a lot of examples of two-part film series. It is not a policy page or a Manual of Style guideline, or anything else. And very few, if any, of those articles have links to [[Movie title (film series)]] articles. You should have discussed the move first, and you should base your decisions on established community guidelines, not list articles. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:14, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

I speak a little French. I thinks he means to say
"I do not understand why you persist in adding/leaving erroneous information on Anbe Vaa. In particular, the artistic distribution (casting) of the film, you are completely wrong, such as the actress T. P. Muthulakshmi is not a nurse, but the mother of the character of actress Saroja Devi . The one who plays the nurse is the humorous actress Madhavi! Check before adding/leaving nonsense on the net! In addition I have given you the link for you to check it yourself! You are there to quibble with caps, which by the way, do not detract from reading the article, on the contrary, in the rule of typing, this highlights the importance of a word, finally, I believe that you are a con at this level! So I have the means to locate you!"
He has sort of taken a potshot at you, bro. But I believe you have resolved it yourself on the article's page. Thanks for that. I looked up T. P. Muthulakshmi on google images and she does look similar to Saroja Devi's mother in the film. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 11:13, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Lacour

Hi Kailash, please remember not to get yourself caught up in an edit-war situation yourself. The Lacour situation could easily have been remedied without making so many reverts. The fact that he wasn't explaining his edits, they were contrary to normal quotation standards, that he was removing a reference without explanation, and that he was only communicating in French should have been something that AIV or ANI could have handled. I'd hate to see a good editor like you get caught up in an edit-war block. Take care, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:35, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

I didn't plagiarise. That was a general statement that came to my mind after reading the article. That website is unknown to me. This line "Balamani is a Tamil detective movie released in 1937" doesn't constitute plagiarism. If I write "Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of India", that bot might say I plagiarized the line from 5000 sources. I googled "Balamani 1937". --Action Hero 16:50, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
Hi, can you reduce the size of the picture. The article is a stub. The picture looks too big for a small article. It's impossible to find more sources of a 1937 film. As reliable non-English sources are allowed, you can find Tamil sources. Action Hero 08:05, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
You can expand the article with information from Randor Guy's article. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:11, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Anurag Kashyap filmography

Please if you could take a look at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Anurag Kashyap filmography/archive1 as well. Yashthepunisher (talk) 2:39, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

For the third and last time I'm nominating this list for FL, and I can't afford another failure. So, please leave your comments. Yashthepunisher (talk) 16:49, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

For bringing Kalidas (film), the article related to the first south Indian sound film, to FA status.   Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:11, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

So what's next? Mullum Malarum FAC / Thuppakki accolades' FLC / something else? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:12, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Both are possible. But I plan to expand MM once I get this book Cinemavum Naanum by its director. Parasakthi looks like an excellent candidate though. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:55, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Then go ahead with Parasakthi. Is Anushka Shetty's GA plan shelved BTW? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:24, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Probably. The user who wanted it to be GA with my help (Soham) has seemingly retired, and I did what he told me to do: clean it up. But I never had any serious intention to make it GA. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:56, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
BLPs are truly a painful set of things to work on, especially related to South India. Wonder how Bollywood-related BLPs are turning GAs/FAs. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 08:59, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
They are indeed a painful experience. Priyanka Chopra turning FA on its third attempt only, Shah Rukh Khan on second attempt... with frequent edit wars that make such articles unstable, I guess making a Bollywood BLP FA should be an achievement equal to reaching the moon. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:18, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Bollywood related BLPs like Padukone and Balan get promoted on their first attempt but even that is quite a tedious process too. Frankly, it's much easier working on films and getting them to GA, although it's a tough process for FA. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:22, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
We can't even bring the BLP of an actor working in a single language to GA status. Such a scarcity of RS we have. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:35, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Pavanjandhyala, I feel Prince's article has a good chance of becoming a GA with a good copyedit and reworking the lead and charity sections. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:39, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Which Prince are you referring to Ssven2? If it is Mahesh Babu, then i took a small break from it recently to avoid a feel of monotony. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:41, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
@Pavanjandhyala: I was referring to Mahesh Babu. Yep, in the words of the good doctor, "I sniff GA potential".  Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:43, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
I only use "sniff" for FA potential articles :-)♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:26, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
@Dr. Blofeld: Ah yes. Well it's become quite a catchphrase I must say, Doc. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 11:42, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Sniffing FA for Rod Steiger, we'll nom this coming week..♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:51, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

@Dr. Blofeld: [3].  Ssven2 Speak 2 me 11:54, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Has Kailash or Pavanjandhyala seen any Steiger? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:57, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
@Pavanjandhyala and Kailash29792: Do see his films like Across the Bridge, In the Heat of the Night and No Way To Treat a Lady. They're all great ones. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 12:01, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Will surely watch them. Have heard always good things about Kubrick, Steiger and Hitchcock (his Vertigo is my favourite). Let's see what Steiger has in store for me :) Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:38, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Jacqueline Fernandez

Today, with some strong help from Dr. Blofeld, i have completed my first (and probably the last) GA review of Jacqueline Fernandez. I promoted it and suggested its nominator FrB.TG to get it c/ed by a member of GOCE for further tightening of the prose which i find okay enough for a good article standard. Thought i should share this with you. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:50, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

For your amazing work on Kalidas and taking it to FA status.   Krish | Talk 16:32, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
By the way, i asked you plenty of times to look at my flcs, you promised but never showed up. Are there any reasons? Just asking.Krish | Talk 17:47, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
I already said before, I have exams (which end tomorrow, the 15th) and then I'll look into your FLCs. Kailash29792 (talk)
