An analogy

edit

Maybe this will help? Think of it this way. Let's say your favourite colour is something called "clover green". Someone argues with you and says that their favourite colour is also "clover green" but it looks different than the colour you showed them. You talk to some people and they agree with you that you are right and the other person is wrong. Hypothetically, there are people who study different shades of colours and write about clover green. Both of the images you've been showing each other as the "true" colour are classified by said scholars as clover green. Now replace clover green with Christian and now maybe it's a bit easier to get it? I hope this doesn't come across as infantilizing, I was just hoping that maybe creating some distance from the topic at hand would help you see it from a new perspective. Sometimes that sort of approach can do wonders. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 16:02, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I understand, but my point is that since it is definitely disputed whether the LDS members are really Christians, could we add that to the front of the page? We could make it something along the lines of this (these new revisions might have errors as they are just drafts):
"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, informally known as the LDS Church or Mormon Church, is a restorationist, nontrinitarian disputed Christian denomination that is the largest denomination in the Latter Day Saint movement."
Or this:
"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, informally known as the LDS Church or Mormon Church, is a restorationist, nontrinitarian denomination, that is the largest denomination in the Latter Day Saint movement. It is agreed upon religious scholars that the LDS church follows Christianity, although this claim is disputed.". KeymasterOne (talk) 16:11, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
The problem with that is that adding the "disputed" part would place an undue emphasis on "disputed" and that would create a false balance. Theoretically, if you were able to find plentiful mainstream academic sources disputing the LDS church's classification as Christian and that's how you started a talk page discussion, consensus could change. Thanks for your contributions to Turkish Ground Services. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and those sources need to be reliable and independent.
