License tagging for Image:AmarJaleel.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:AmarJaleel.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:04, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I'm trying to build up a database to create articles on political parties on different wikipedias. Could you have a look at User:Soman/Lang-Help-ur? Thanks, --Soman 11:50, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Achakzai1.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Welcome fellow Sindhi

Nice to see an educated Pakistani Sindhi Muslim Sufism-Interested person. There is a lot of unbiased contribution needed over here, especially Sindhi thinkers and Sufis. We also need to safeguard the good work from vandalism and POV vandalism. Please add user tags in your user page so people of your interest might find you easily thru user category search. You are welcomed to see and copy appropriate tags from my userpage but I am listing a few that might interest you. {{User en-4}} {{User ur}} {{User sd-1}} {{User Pakistan}} {{User American}} {{User:Ashley Y/Userbox/Theist 3}} {{User:MiraLuka/Userboxes/User muslim}} {{User:Ashley Y/Userbox/Sufi}} {{User:Disavian/Userboxes/relirespect}}

Thanks for the message

Heelo Khalid,thanks for the message.

Well my mother isn't exactly of "sufi origin".Both her parents were Sunni Muslims, but she considers herself a sufi.

And your brother is also Nadirali?Intersting.

My mother works for the "world Sindhi institute" based in Washington DC.They will provide me articles to type and post here along with sources.

To learn more about it go to http://www.worldsindhi.org/

If you have any questions for them, dont hesitate to ask them.

Yes the situation in Sindh these days is bad.I visited Hyderabad briefly.Stayed with relatives in a millitary Kantonment. Plus the blocking of the Indus river has angered and saddened me.

Regards.Nadirali 17:13, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Nadirali

Dont worry

Khalid dont worry about what I said about my mother being of Sufi origin.

Well also her father considered himself Sufi in a way.

I agree with you about religion and all.

Thanks for staying in touch.By the way I hope you liked the world Sindhi institute website. If there's anyway you can contribute to their site, please let them know. They'll be happy to hear from a fine Sindhi like you.

Take care brother.

Re: Sai Kumar

Hello! I'm not very familiar with Telugu films. However I could find this biography of a Telugu actor. Is he the same person you are looking for? If not, you might have better luck asking at the Indian discussion board or to editors from Andhra Pradesh like Hydkat. Sorry I couldnt be of more help--thunderboltz(Deepu) 13:11, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, this could be a good place to start...[1]. BTW I think you are referring to a movie named Police Story in which he played a character named Agni. --hydkat 22:07, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
He's acting in a new film named Samanyudu. I guess searching on google is way of getting details about him... try [2] (search google with 'sai+kumar tollywood') --hydkat 06:08, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Your'e Welcome

Assalamalaikum Khalid. Thanks for the message on my talk page. You are most welcome. If you need anything in the future, please feel free to let me know. I noticed on the Ancient Greek talk page that you were looking for a tag showing that you are interested in Ancient Greek history. If you copy the following text (bolded) and place it in your talk page, you will get a template: {{User Ancient Greece}}. I hope this helps you! Khuda hafiz, AnupamTalk 22:01, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Salaam again! Since you are interested in Marine Life, I would recommend you to join WikiProject Marine life by adding your name here. You can then use the following template for your userpage: {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Marine life/Userbox}}. Adding your name here and using: {{User WPFishes}} is also an option if you are interested WikiProject Fishes. Of course, if you wish not to join a WikiProject but would still like a template pertaining to fish on your userpage, you can create your own one. I hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else. I would be glad to assist you. Khuda hafiz, AnupamTalk 05:11, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Adaab Khaild. Thanks for teaching me the Sindhi and Balochi phrases. The Sindhi phrase for How are you? is very similar to my Urdu/Hindi: Kya haal chal hai? I understand your request about pet aquarium fish. As a result, I created a template for you: {{User:Rfrisbie/Userbox/Aquarium}} (No Aquarium fish template existed prior to your request for one). You can go ahead and use this template. If you would like me to modify the text, please let me know and I'll be happy to do so. Thanks. Khuda hafiz,

Your contribution to article Balochistan conflict

It was nice to see you editing the mentioned article. You have definitely tried to give the article a NPOV approach. The article really needs improvement and its quite a controversial article. There aren't any external sources provided with the article which the article really needs to be verifiable. I haven't got much exposure to the conflict thats why I have refrained from editing the article myself. If you can provide me with some reliable sources I'll be able to contribute to the article too. I suggest that we may split the article to describe the stances of Pakistani government, local people, tribal lords and international media. In this way we'll be able to make article NPOV and acceptable. voldemortuet 11:58, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Re:again need Help

Salaam Khalid. I'm glad you are trying to neutralize biased articles. In order to write an unbiased article, you must first research the topic thoroughly, using reputable sources. It would be beneficial to include perspectives from both the Pakistani government and Balochi separatists. I have a few good articles that you could use that would give both perspectives: Irnin News, South Asia Analysis Group, Rediff News, HRCP, newKerala.com, Baloch Society Of North America, Foreign Policy Centre UK, and BBC. These sources will help you get started in editing the article. If others disagree with your views, it is probably best that you discuss the issues on the article's talk page until you reach a consensus. If the article is constantly vandalized, you can request for page protection. When you are finished editing, you can contact me and I could copyedit the article for you. I would also recommend taking a look at the Wikilinks regarding Balochistan here. I hope I have answered your questions. Best of luck, AnupamTalk 22:16, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Bahut bahut shukria Khalid. I'm glad to help. The Wikipedia policy on Sources in languages other than English is listed here. From my understanding, the Daily Kawish is a reputable Sindhi newspaper. Since there are probably no equivalent articles in English-language newspapers, you are still entitled to use the source. You can most definitely use the autobiography of the former Khan of Kalat as a source. For instructions on how to cite sources, see the Wikipedia:Footnotes guideline. I hope this helps! By the way, did you like the Aquarium fish template? Khudai-e-mayaa-ray =), AnupamTalk 06:12, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm glad I could be of assistance to you and that you liked the Aquarium fish template. Yes, a few years ago, I did own a few aquarium fish which I enjoyed caring for. I should also thank you for all the information you imparted to me. We can learn new things every day! I wish you the best of luck on editing your articles. If you require my help again, please feel free to contact me. I really like the concept Sindhis use when leaving each other. Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 06:05, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Salaam again. Hum teek hai. Aap kaise hai? (Hindi/Urdu for: I am fine. How about you?) I incorporated the information you provided on the Sindhi people talk page into the article. That's okay if you do not know the origin of the tribes. Hopefully, other editors who do have knowledge of their origin will add the information. I found one source that does provide some information: Shri Sindhi Samaj. It is a Hindu Sindhi website that does contain history, information on the tribes, etc. Please let me know your feelings on my edit and information. Hope this helps. Hi,

Refer to this edit. It was clearly done by an anon IP who was experimenting with Wikipedia. So I reverted the edit to the version last edited by you. To explain which revision is being reverted to, the editor's name was mentioned in order to clarify the revision the article (talk page) is being reverted to. Re:how to clean mess

Salaam Dear. Regarding the placement of Indian templates on Sindhi-related articles: Sindh was a part of the region called India as referred to by many historians including Ibn Battuta, Zheng He, Vasco Da Gama, Alexander the Great, etc. Under the Maurya Empire, Gupta Empire, Mughal Empire, Maratha Empire, and finally the British Raj, Sindh was ruled under the region commonly referred to as India/Bharat/Hindostan. To the west of Hindostan was Khorasan, which encompassed the present-day countries of Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Because Sindh, like many other states (Punjab, Gujarat, Rajputna, etc.) were all considered a part of India in the past, Indian templates have been placed on talk pages of pre-partition of India articles like Taxila. The Indian templates are not meant as a political claim but meant to involve other editors in the construction of an article. Moreover, after a discussion, Indian editors have developed the
{{WP India|history=yes|pre=yes}} parameter for pre-partition articles to make the tag more neutral. The template replaces the Indian flag with images of the Indian subcontinent and Ashoka Chakra. In regard to Sassi Punnun: As long as you have provided references for your edits and have edited using proper grammar and spelling, a revert-war will probably not ensue. If others do contest your eidts, it is probably best that you discuss the issues on the article's talk page until you reach a consensus on the content of the article. If the article is constantly vandalized, you can request for page protection. I hope my comments were helpful. If you need any more help please feel free to contact me. By the way, were my edits to the Sindhi people article and the source I gave you helpful? Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 02:22, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm glad I was able to help you out with the article. Regarding Sindh: I'm not trying to argue that Sindhis don't have a unique cultural identity -- they definitely do! I also agree that the people of Sindh are a nation, as are the Rajputs, Gujaratis, Punjabis, etc. I was just trying to point out that Sindh was ruled collectively with other parts of India. Please see thses images: Image:Mauryan Empire Map.gif, Image:Guptaempire.GIF, Image:Mughals.gif, Image:India1760 1905.jpg. Their Indo-Aryan ethnicity, language, and former religion (i.e. Hinduism and Buddhism) also shows affinity to India. Thanks much for the souces. It was nice of you to share them with me and I enjoyed reading them. Please keep in mind though that this site is considered a biased source that attempts to rewrite history. Once again, I really appreciate your willingness to educate me about your heritage. I do respect it. By the way, I have checked your edits to the Sindhi people article for grammar. =) Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 06:33, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Well thanks! I try my best to be a helful, rational, and amicable editor here on Wikipedia. I'm glad that you liked my edits to the Sindhi people article. There are a lot of non extant articles (shown in red) which are linked off the article. You can start creating them by clicking on the red link which will automatically direct you to the space in which you create/edit. Keep up the good work you are doing on Wikipedia. I have a few possible solutions regarding the Sindhi language scripts. You can go to this site where you can type Sindhi words (in Perso-Arabic script) and copy them into Wikipedia. If you also know the Sindhi Devanagari script, you can use this site to copy and past Sindhi words into Wikipedia. If none of these options work, you can scan Sindhi words into Wikipedia as image files. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more concerns or questions. Hi

Salam Khalid, its Nadirlali. Yes I'd like to join you in any Sindhi forum possible.

I also encourage you to join PakHub http://www.pakhub.info/

By the way there is now a category of Sindhi wikipedians. But I won't place myself on it as it has an MQM flag on it.I posted a comment saying the flag was an offense to Sindhi wikipedians.

Best regardsNadirali 02:26, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Regarding my 2-day visit and short stay in Hyderabad(last summer),I stayed in a millitary cantonment.I don't know Hyderabad too well.I was amzed how developed the cantonment was as compared to the rest of Hyderabad. The army is one corrupt beraucracy.I hate them.

Take care brother and God bless.Nadirali 04:41, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

A wiki Sindhi will take alot of time.No I unfortunately speak only Urdu & English, but I can understand Sindhi little bit.But I will write an article for World SIndhi institute soon because they want me to write an article for them here on wikipedia.

Im sorry to say but we Sindhis are very weak people.Look at the Blouch, the Pathans,The Kashmiris. They show strength.Even Punjabis(they have too much power in Pakistan)Sindhis have a huge problem. They dont know anything about strength or power. They love everybody TOO MUCH.Sindh never had it's own army. This is a problem for Sindhis. The only way to free SIndh is if Sindhis do what the Bulloch are doing. The government and MQM will then leave Sindh alone.

Have you heard of Hassan Ali Rahman? He was a famous Sindhi(my grandfather).

Nadirali 05:45, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Hella

Hello,

Good to see a Sindhi brother around.. I dont know much about internal politics of Sindh! In India Sindhis are pretty much in the upper classes. Well anyways I speak very little Sindhi. My mother's family is originally from Karachi. Would like to visit the place sometime.

Hello dear. The inability to edit was probably the result of an Autoblock. If it happens to you again, you can contest the block by following the instructions here. I'm really glad you found the Sindhi script sites I sent you to be useful and that I am of help to you. Unfortunately, I have not listened to the song "Come back Jesus Save the World". I performed a Google search of the song title but could not find any relevant results. Maybe you could provide me with a link? I hope you will return from your leave soon. I thought you might be interested in some Wikibreak templates for your userpage which can be found here. Thanks for the thoughtful closing in the Sindhi script. I am enjoying the holidays. I hope you are as well and would like to wish you a happy new year! Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 06:32, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, I listen to a variety of music in many languages, particulary English and Urdu/Hindi. I have listened to songs in other languages though, including Arabic, Gujarati, Farsi, etc and am open minded in regards to music. Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 07:16, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

RE:The Indus valley civilization article

Salam Khalid it's Nadirali.I am a bit disturbed by this tagging of the indus valley civilization article with Indian tags.I placed a Pakistani tag on the discussion page. The Indian editors keep removing all refferences to Pakistan from the indus article.

The fact is the indus is part of Pakistani history(it is Sindhi and punjabi history to be more specific).

What should be done about it? Nadirali 07:35, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Your VandalProof Application

Dear Khalidkhoso,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.

Hey about Vandal Proof.

I just want to tell you that. If you have opened your eyes and read what Froth wrote on your talk page. If you did not understand. Let me make it clear. You need minimum 250 and you have 164 mainspace. You need more 86 mainspace. After that you can apply. Hope you understood you just need more 86 mainspace. :) --SkyWalker 13:12, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Happy editing Wikipedia. Have fun:). You can that software again. I think very soon you will reach 86. Hopefully if you are lucky. Froth will add you. Best of Luck. --SkyWalker 13:24, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

The reason you haven't been approved is that you don't have 250 edits in the Main Namespace or "mainspace". Right now you have only 164 edits to actual encyclopedia articles. [3] Sorry for the misunderstanding but you don't yet qualify for VP --frothT C 17:39, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Re:Jinnah and Iqbal

Hi Khalid - I appreciate your ideas. More importantly, I appreciate your constructive attitude.

I draw your attention to this discussion - Wikipedia talk:Notice board for India-related topics/India disambiguation discussion, where South Asian editors discussed this issue at length. You argue that Jinnah and Iqbal were legally "British Indians" - well then why aren't there more "British Nigerians," "British Sri Lankans," "British Egyptians," etc. And not to speak of the subjects of other empires. I'm not sure if Mustafa Kemal can be described as a "Ottoman Turk."

Additionally, there is convention. Wikipedia was not created to "reinterpret" history - just to report it. In 99% of official and unofficial sources, there is no use of "British Indian" as a nationality. Even the British themselves classified Indians as "Indians." We cannot invent terms.

As for Jinnah and Iqbal, there are already credited as the main founding fathers of Pakistan - so why should anybody think they are any less connected with Pakistan, just because a vast majority of their lives they were Indians. George Washington was an Englishman, but does that reduce his American-ness? And nobody can factually argue that the Pakistani nationality existed before 1947, or that the Bangladeshi nationality existed before 1971.

But I know that the India before 1947 is different from the India today. That is why the India (disambiguation) is explicit in differentiating the associations and uses of that name.

The reason why we can't split every article into pov sections, is (1) we have no end of povs in this world. There is Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Western opinion on everything. (2) No encyclopedia article must deviate from WP:NPOV - points of view are not facts, just interpretations. An encyclopedia should deliver the facts and the conventional way of interpretation with a gist of modern debate. It should not (1) re-interpret history, (2) be a database for different opinions. All encyclopedia articles must be written according to WP:NPOV, WP:CITE, WP:BLP (for biographies).

That said, I don't doubt that there must be a bigger, more formal discussion and a general guideline so we on Wikipedia may avoid future conflicts between editors over this. Rama's arrow 14:48, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Re:Template and IP Address

Salaam Khalid! Yes I am able to make templates. I saw that you were wondering how to put the Ajruk on the Sindhi template to make it more neutral. As a result, I created the template for you that can be used by all Sindhis:

سنڌي सिन्धी
This user is a
Sindhi Wikipedian

If you like the template, I can save it for you to use. If not, I can alter it to suit your preferences. Let me know how you feel about it. The instructions for creating one can be found here. It's alright if you change IP Addresses. The only way you could get autoblocked is if someone else using the same IP address as you is blocked. Most likely, this will not happen. However, if it does, all you have to do is follow the instructions here and you will be unblocked. I hope this helps! Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 22:06, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

The template is all set to go. You can obtain it at Category:Sindhi Wikipedians. I'm glad that you like it. Yeah, Sindhi is written in two scripts: Devanagari script and Perso-Arabic script. I thought I would add both scripts in order that Sindhis from both India and Pakistan could use the template. Cheers, AnupamTalk 06:48, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Salaam Khalid! I'm glad to see that your are promulgating the template. I would add the template to my userpage. However, I don't believe that I have any Sindhi ancestry. I guess both of us are Indo-Aryans though. You can add that template to your userpage if you would like (see Category:Indo-Aryan Wikipedians). Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 07:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Also can you contribute to this discussion In respect to Islamic cults, I thougt that having one article give the lists of cults such as Nation of Islam, Qadianis etc and other smaller groups would be helpful. My friends told me to look up as many Indians and Pakistanis as possible and invite them to this discussion, as they should know about these facts.

Looking forward to your help.

Re:Jinnah and Iqbal

Hi Khalid - you make a good argument, but your perspective is on the wrong track owing to a series of minor factual errors.

You are entering a trap when you discuss Balochistan and Afghanistan - that way, no peoples are completely independent of one another. One must always respect the distance and diversity of history and not try to enmesh today's politics into the past. If you argue that the Balochi people are not so "Indian," then what pray makes them "Pakistani?" Why were they included in Jinnah and Iqbal's call for a state for "Indian Muslims?" Why did the concept of a Muslim state in "northwestern India" include Balochistan? I suppose the Pashtun-majority NWFP and districts of Balochistan should go with Afghanistan, rite? Why is it that when the Pashtuns were in Afghanistan, they were Afghans but when they moved to Pakistan, they became known as "Pashtuns?" Obviously this is a very, very controversial subject, which is not relevant to WP.

Jinnah's statement that he was an Indian, first and foremost (see Wikiquote) gives you an important clue - that "Indian" was the common description of the people. Even when arguing the two-nation theory, Iqbal and Jinnah called for a state for "Indian Muslims" in "northwestern India." Even Muslim historians have constantly referred to South Asia as a single geographic, cultural, economic and national entity - read the testimonies of Ibn Battuta. When Shah Waliullah sought Ahmed Shah Abdali's intervention to restore "Dar ul Islam," he referred to "Hindustan." Same goes for the Greeks, the Mughals and all the other empires that have reached India. Should the inhabitants of Mohenjodaro be known as "Indus Indians" and those of Ayodhya as "Vedic Indians." And why should either be known as "Pakistanis," when Islam, let alone the two-nation theory had not entered the world or touched India. This is convention. What 99% of the world's historical literature and consensus judgment holds, must be respected on Wikipedia.

Additionally, no participant of India's freedom struggle would ever accept being called "British Indian." That is the perspective of the Indian peoples of that era when they were "subjects" of the British. Even Sir Syed, when he called for loyalty to the Brits and to be "subjects" of the empire, did not enmesh the Indian nationality with the British nationality. And what, pray is "British nationality?" I'm sure that the Irish, Welsh, Scots and Anglo-Saxons will have differing views, won't they. Should the article History of the United Kingdom be vivisected to accomodate everyone?

On a personal note, I can understand why Pakistanis are so sentimental about this, but you must understand that no one can rewrite history. India and Pakistan are independent nations today, the partition happened in 1947, but that does not mean we partition the last two thousand years of common history. After all, the spirits of the peoples of the Indus Valley, Vedic civilization will not like being cut up by their descendents 5,000 years down the line due to some differences that developed in the 20th century. Re:how to Redirect

Hello Khalid dear. Right, the Baloch people are an Iranic people while the Sindhi people are Indo-Aryans. You can read: Indo-Iranians for more information if you would like. Regarding the redirects: it is not possible to redirect a category (Category:Baloch tribes) to an article (Baloch tribes). They serve two different functions on Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Categorization). However, when you add [[Category:Baloch tribes]] to the articles on Baloch tribes you added here, they will automatically appear in the category list. In order to do this, however, there must be an extant article for the particular tribe. For example, you must create the Badini Balochi tribe article in order for it to be listed in Category:Baloch tribes. I hope this helps. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Your'e very welcome. I'm glad you are enjoying the template and sharing it with other users. Earlier, you mentioned that you liked the Devanagari script on the template. I thought you might find this site interesting. Enjoy, AnupamTalk 04:45, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

To keep all the discussion in one place let's rather have it at the article's talk page. That way other editors can also weigh in with their views. I've already posted there. Look forward to your response. Zunaid©® 15:42, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Please discuss this issue at Talk:Abu Bakr#Edits of 12 January 2007. I've posted your comments there already. Zunaid©® 16:03, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
I will be back on Monday to continue this discussion. Please post at the article talk page and not at my personal talk page. This allows other eitors also to give their opinions. Zunaid©® 16:06, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Re:Page for protection

Salaam dear. I'm glad you figured out how to ask for page protection. In my opinion the best way to settle the dispute at Category:Sindhi Wikipedians is to allow both Sindhii's template and the one I created to be on the page. In this way, users can choose to place whatever template they want on their userpage and the edit war between you and Sindhii will end. Essentially, this will result in a revert to this version. Please let me know your feelings on this issue. Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 04:17, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the information. I was aware of the ethnic conflict in Karachi and can understand why the flag might be offensive. That is why my version allowed users to choose between which template they want to place on their userpage. If this is not possible, maybe you and Sindhii can resolve the disupute through a bilateral discussion on the talk page of Category:Sindhi Wikipedians. I hope everything works out for you. Let me know if you need any help. With regards, AnupamTalk 21:46, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
السلام علیک Yes, I agree with you. I think it is a good idea to keep the Category:Sindhi Wikipedians page neutral (as the template I created does) without mentioning political parties. If you like, I can go ahead and correct the grammar on the page so it allows for only one template to be used. However, it seems like some individuals like Taar and Sindhii are going to resist the change. Legally, users who like the Sindhi-MQM template can use Sindhii's template on their userpages. However, his template does not have to appear on the cateogory page as it is not inclusive. Please let me know how you feel. Sadain Gud, AnupamTalk 19:40, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the template Khalid... Its really beautiful. Amey Aryan DaBrood© 15:55, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Well I think there is a whale of difference between being a Sindhi and living in Sindh. Sindhi is anyone whose native language is Sindhi be it a Hindu or a Muslim or an Indian or a Pakistani. Having MQM flag on Sindhi template is plain wrong. Though i dont have any opinion about MQM, most of the Pakistani Sindhis i met hate MQM. Amey Aryan DaBrood© 16:27, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello Khalidkhoso,

Thanks for the encouragement. I will try and add on to this article over the weekend. Let's see if we can't give sindhi history it's due on wikipedia. Let me know if you have any recos. I'll run my edits by you once I wrap them up.

userboxes

Just a quick heads-up. The userboxes scattered around on this talk page are causing it to be added to various categories, which you can see if you scroll right to the bottom of this page. Userboxes should ideally go on your user page, not on your talk page. You might want to remove them from here as I see they are already on your user page. I also see the boxes are squeezing out your intro text against the margin. You might want to check my user page for a less cluttered layout, or browse around some other people's user pages. You can also ask for assistance at the Help Desk. btw your talk page is becoming quite long and should probably be archived. Also, it is a VERY bad idea to put your email address on your user page, web crawlers and spiders will pick it up and you will most likely become a spam target. Use AT and DOT instead of @ and ., humans will still be able to decipher it. Zunaid©® 07:33, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I've added nowiki tags to them to prevent them from rendering. I'm not sure if this suits you. The only other option is to substitute them then edit the code to remove the categorization, as is done with the Sindhi template you've got further up the page. Hope that helps! You probably mean their goverments, not countries. I also suggest you remove the flags. They have nothing to do with the goverments. --Aminz 08:41, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Khalidkhoso, to describe whole peoples as threats to humanity (as if Iranians and Israelis were not included in humanity) is plainly provocative. Many of your fellow Wikipedia editors live in or trace their roots to one of these countries, and will rightly be offended by your userpage post. I strongly recommend that you remove it. Khalidkhoso, thanks for the links. I'll read them. Could you please show me one of your edits which was reverted. To be honest with you, that's the way wikipedia works. SO, be strong and couragous ;) --Aminz 09:23, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Khalid, I am interested to know what a sovereign Baloch government would bring for balochs? What would they achieve by establishment of this government? --Aminz 09:43, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Dear Khalid,

I understand you might have bad feelings about some countries. It is understandable. But since wikipedia is supposed to be a so-called multi-national environment, i am afraid people will show negative reactions to your user page. So, if you could just put in a milder way, it would be better I think. Wikipedia has got some polices who fine people. It is very likely that they give you a ticket on this. I think saying I don't like Iran and Israel should be fine. But putting flags seems to me to be a bit too much. Salaam --Aminz 09:53, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

The source seems like a WP:RS satisfying source. I'll read it. Thanks very much.

BTW, Khalid, I have been around for awhile in wikipedia and have found a few nice Jewish friends(e.g. User:Khoikhoi for example). And to the eyes of every people God has made the name of their country beautiful. I think this matter will eventually go to WP:ANI page and probably in a few minutes, some administrator will remove the flag from your userpage and may also block your userpage from editing. Anyways, Have a good day. --Aminz 10:08, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Khalid. Could you please have a look at this and give your arguments why you still can keep this contentious content on your userpage? Cheers -- Szvest - Wiki me up ® 10:15, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Maria the Copt

Khalid, you added a Qur'an verse to this article, which I removed. It was very clumsy English. A bad translation. Haleem, from the Oxford University Press, is a much better translation. However, it's not necessary to cite the whole verse -- just sura and ayat will do. We have a form that links to the translation at the Muslim Students Association. I don't use it much, but you could look it up.

I also removed your edits to Muhammad, Kaaba, and Black Stone. Some of them were cut and paste from other sites, which is a copyright violation, and which we do not allow. Some of them were unreferenced. Some of them were unduly pious. This is a secular encyclopedia, not a Muslim one. You have been doing a lot of editing in the last few hours, and a great many of those edits have not been helpful. Please slow down. Zora 08:42, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Your userpage

This is nothing to be discussed, as pointed out on WP:ANI, that is not a legitimate use of the userspace. It is inflamatory, and adds nothing to the encyclopedia. Please don't accuse me of vandalising. ViridaeTalk 10:26, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Also, see this. ViridaeTalk 10:30, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

You userpage is now fully protected because you have continually reinserted the content in violation of policy. Please note that a protection if preferable to a block, and it was one or the other because of the policy violation. I have chosen protection however to allow you to discuss it here and at WP:ANI (see the bottom of the page). ViridaeTalk 10:54, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Please read the policy which has been linked to sevral times. Your userpage was in violation of the policy so the objectionable content hasd been removed. A userpage is not a free webhost, and thus you do not have free reign over what you do and don't have on it. You are quite welcome to have your opinions, but wikipedia is not the place to express them. Hezbollah should only be called a terrorist organisation in an article where it is cited as coming from someone who has called them a terrorist organisation. However that doe not apply in any way to your userpage. Please do not call me a vandal, and at no point have I personally attacked you. ViridaeTalk 10:58, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

If you are agreeing to not reinsert that content/break that policy I will unprotect yourpage now. Otherwise it experies 24hours after I protected it. ViridaeTalk 11:38, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I have no problem with you adding articles. The problem was your userpage and only that. Do you agree to not reinsterting/inserting material that violates policy so that I can unprotect it? ViridaeTalk 11:47, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

If you want your userpage unprotected before the 24hours are up, then yes. If you don't and then reinsert that material after the time is up you will be blocked for disruption. This is a warning not a threat. ViridaeTalk 11:58, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually, concerned users usually give their opinions on matters that concern them. Of course it was up to you to respond or not or to argue or not. In this case, the issue was related to WP:USERPAGE and administrators usually come to a decision quickly as the situation doesn't need many arguments because the policy is quite clear. Please note that not only you who've seen the content in question removed from their userpages but many others. Now, i'd suggest that you focus on editing (the main reason you are here) and forget the issue unless you have something to argue about. -- Szvest - Wiki me up ® 15:53, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Ubaidullah Sindhi

I saw your edits on Maulana. Maulana seemed to be influenced by Wahhabism but he was certainly not a Qadiani. He could not have been a Qadiani because Qadianism was planted by the British to help them in their rule, whereas Maulana was a fighter against this rule. User:Khokhar976 keeps changing the article to prove that Maulana was a Qadiani. He is very crafty. He starts with impartial looking sentencing and then after a while resorts to full fleldged lies by inserting false quotations. Can you keep an eye on this article? Hi. Please take a look at the code I put here. Thanks.

{{helpme}} works for Template space templates. Xiner (talk, email) 22:11, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Welcome messages

I see you are posting a few welcome messages. You seem to be doing this by cut and pasting a message from somewhere, which means things like ~~~~ are getting expanded to your signature in the middle of the text and similarly the {{helpme}} tag is being expanded into a help request. You should just put the welcome template on the page i.e. {{Subst:welcome}} ~~~~ which is a lot easier and works properly. --pgk 22:17, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

That last one looks fine. The only thing I'll add is I don't know how you are selecting people to welcome, but we don't usually welcome everyone. We get 8000+ usernames created each day, of these many will either never edit or will be blocked for vandalism very shortly after creation. It's best to see if people are doing something useful before welcoming them. --pgk 22:30, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: Warning

There's a whole collection of warning templates here. For example, to warn a user for a test edit, type {{subst:uw-test1}]. You might be interested in WP:CVU. Cheers! Yuser31415 (Editor review two!) 02:55, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

In which case use {{subst:bv}} :). And don't worry about the editor - he's already blocked indefinitely. Cheers! Yuser31415 (Editor review two!) 03:06, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Vandal tagging

Hi Khalidkhoso, thank you very much for helping fight vandalism on Wikipedia. I see that you revert recent vandalism by User:216.36.190.41 and warned them on their talk page. This is very much appreciated. I have a couple of ways you could improve your efforts. First when you leave a vandal warning on a talk page you should always "subst" it. Instead of typing {{uw-test1}} type {{subst:uw-test1}}. This eases the load on our servers and reduces the chance that the warning itself will be vandalized. Second, please sign when you leave a warning. You can do this by typing ~~~~ (that's four tilde characters) after the warning. So what you type is: {{subst:uw-test1}}~~~~. Again, many thanks for your help, Gwernol 21:13, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Read WP:SUBST for the details, but basically instead of typing {{uw-test1}} to leave a warning message on a user's talk page type {{subst:uw-test1}}. In other words just add "subst:" in front of the name of the warning template. This does all the work for you. Best, Gwernol 21:59, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: block notice

Hi, please take a look at this edit of yours: [5]. You added a notice to this user's talkpage to say that they had been blocked when in fact they had not. Only administrators can block other users and generally leaving notices of blocks should be left to them. Leaving block templates on unblocked users results in confusion later when vandals are reported as the reviewing administrator may believe the user has already been blocked. No prob. Next time when you see a user who has vandalised soon after a final warning, you might want to report them to WP:AIV instead, but {{uw-block1}} is for users who have already been blocked. By the way I reverted some vandalism to your userpage. Best of luck with future vandal fighting. WjBscribe 01:06, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I've noticed that user. He's been reported at WP:AIV and will be blocked soon. I notice that you posted many warnings to his talkpage. There isn't really much point in issuing warnings after {{uw-vandalism4}}, which is a final warning. If they continue to vandalise after that, list them at WP:AIV and an admin will block them. Talk:Sindhi literature

Hi Khalid - thank you for being a voice of reason in one of the most silly edit-wars possible. Rama's arrow 15:08, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

In my opinion, nothing is bound by anything - there is no reason one cannot appreciate someone else's heritage, work, etc. The problem was that the Wikiproject tags were being used as symbols of ownership, which is not the case at all. I felt like thanking you because of your decency and civility in handling such sensitive matters. All the best, Rama's arrow 15:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
What can I say? In some people's opinions, the transliteration script and project tags are symbols of nationality and ownership. I would understand a wider debate on nationality issues, but this kind of edit-warring is plain stupid and disruptive. Btw, do sign your posts with 4 tildes (~). This will add the date, time of posts and your username automatically. Rama's arrow 16:05, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism warnings

Hi, just dropping in to let you know that I think you are targetting the wrong user talk pages to warn about vandalism, ie user talk:Argenloco, because that user didn't actually vandalise all the pages that you warned him/her about...Keep up the vandal fighting!!

No, that one was definitely him, but you also warned him about vandalising waterfall which wasn't him. No biggie!--Xnuala 15:43, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for being a vandal fighter! --Xnuala 15:50, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the userboxes! I put them on my userpage. With regard to the link you notified me of, I don't know if that should be removed. Wikipedia isn't censored, but I wonder if that is verifiable.--Xnuala 16:05, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Baloch people

Hello! The problem is, there haven't been any sources provided that the Baloch are related to Arabs. If you can find one, please let me know. Then I will add it to the article. Thanks, Khoikhoi 00:33, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

The 1911 Britannica links you provided are almost from 100 years ago—I'm not sure how reliable they are anymore. The englishsabla.com link is an internet fourm, which does not meet WP:RS, and baloch2000.org doesn't work. :-( Do you have any better sources? Khoikhoi 07:39, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Are they blocked by the government? Khoikhoi 19:50, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

You've been approved to use NPWatcher. Please give Martinp23 any feature requests or bugs. He'll also happy to help if you have any problems running the program, or any questions :). Before you run the program, please check the changelog on the application page to see if he's made a new release (or just add the main page (here) to your watchlist). Finally, enjoy! -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 04:24, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Page Protection

Hello Khalidkhoso, sorry to see your page under a rampage of vandalism as of late. Might I suggest that you try WP:RFPP and request administrators to semi-protect your page? Semi-protection prevents IP addresses or accounts less than 4 days old from editing a Wikipedia page. I'll continue to keep an eye on your page.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 20:05, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

I'll watch the page and semi-protect if necessary. Shadow1 (talk) 20:07, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry About that

Sorry about that, what happened I was trying to revert the vandalism and someone beat me too it.. so I reverted their revert. This happened to me once or twice before and usually I correct it. I'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again. Danski14 22:08, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
