You are right that documentations is not updated. It was copied and pasted from before the times of tagging non-mainspace. When non-mainspace tagging began, a couple of us decided that it's not worth the effort. Tagging articles gives you all kinds of useful reports, while tagging categories and dab pages provides no real benefit that would outweigh the time spent. Anyhow, now that you tagged 450+ pages, there is even less sense spending time trying to remove the banners (when I first posted here I did not realize how many pages were tagged). So I guess, the project now tags non-mainspace too. Feel free to resume the tag drive. Renata (talk) 14:49, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

The changes would probably be for the plot, but really the plot is already summarized very well and doesn't need changes, unless it's grammar changes. The changes I don't mind, like I said I wanted the info. to blend in nicely with your work. I expanded the lead, added that Fey and Carlock and McCarthy-Miller wrote and directed, guest stars, the episode summary, and the rest that was in the lead I didn't think needed expansion since that bit works. Your comment on my edit--Capital versus lower case

Uhm, no, I've actually been thanked several times for what I'm doing. It's complicated, but a lot of these category pages for genera have been organized/alphabetized in several ways. I mean, on the same page. And the result is, the entries fall into several alphabetic sequences.

In the case of the pages for genera, it's best to alphabetize them by their species name, spelled with lower case initial. If you'll allow me to finish the page I've started (which I probably won't complete at this sitting), you'll see how neat and organized the results are. On this page in particular, just a few were alphabetized by their species name capitalized, a few were done by the species name in lower case, and the bulk were alphabetized under the genus name--which would put the whole category under one letter of the alphabet. Trust me, it works. I've been doing it for a long time, and I've reorganized MANY, MANY genus category pages. You're not the first to object, by a long way. Short answer: Consistency. Consider the binomial (scientific) name for an organism. It is generally rendered Genus [capitalized] species (lower case). Now, for the category page for the genus, if we just add every species to the page, without making a special statement for the sort order, the whole page will come out in one letter, the initial of the genus name. There can be hundreds of them. So it's best to state that they're to be alphabetized by the species. So why lower case? Well, two things. First, where things have been organized by the species name, it has been by far the more usual way to do it. Doing them some capitalized and some lower case causes them to appear on the page in two different alphabets, so at least consistency is desirable. But here's a second advantage. There are genus category pages that have entries other than binomial names. There are common names; there are other things. (OK, the one in question doesn't have that.) Organize it the way I'm doing it, and those pages other than the binomial names are organized in one alphabet, capitalized, at the beginning--followed by a neat list of the binomial names, in lower case. Please take a look at the first such page I ever did, Category:Pinus, the pine trees.

As far as the principle you cite, to me it reads like a general guideline--the way to do it for the vast majority of cases--rather than a hard rule. People do organize in other ways, even by things other than letters (asterisks, symbols, a blank space--all have their very useful purposes).

Well, as I said in another way, it DOES separate out the scientific names in one neat list AFTER all the entries that happen to be other things. I do encourage you to look at the Pinus category page I mentioned before. I've just seen that it's been messed with since I was there, but it's mostly they way I'm talking about. It begins generally with A.., pine, B... pine, C... pine, etc.--common names, and other things, in one neat alphabet. That is followed by Pinus a..., Pinus b..., pinus c..., etc., in a second, lower case alphabet. No worries. Though Category:Glamorgan geography stubs being a subcategory of Category:Cardiff seems dubious, considering Cardiff is entirely within Glamorgan. Welsh tags

Hi Koavf, I have noticed that you have been tagging many Welsh articles to be classified. The only issue is that seveal are disambiguation pages and some, such as talk:Christopher Swagga Nicholas don't even have an article. Do you check the articles before you tag them or is this a bot? It just would help me as I am one of the few people who assess Welsh articles and this tagging will probably be lumped on myself and anything to lessen the workload will be appreciated. Hi Koavf - Yes, according to the consensus I saw at the discussion, the existing content should be split between a language category and a culture category, and each category should be categorized in the appropriate parent cats. For the language category, that would probably be Category:Jewish languages and for the culture cat it would probably be Category:Jewish culture. Or, if you have a better idea, they can be categorized elsewhere. Or (since I just found those categories), if you think the content should just be upmerged, feel free to to propose it at WP:CFD. Dealing with de-populated speedy rename categories

If you are going to manually de-populate the old categories at WP:CFDS and create the new one, instead of tagging the old category with Template:db-catempty, could you add those you want deleted to the "Ready for deletion" queue at WP:CFDWM? (The reminder to do this is at the bottom on WP:CFDS here. These categories are not eligible for speedy deletion as empty categories that have been empty for 4 days; they are eligible because they have been speedily renamed, and if they are not added to the correct queue, they will be deleted for the wrong reason, and the correct notice will not be left on the deleted category. TCMI Project update

Hello! While I know that you weren't able to attend the Backstage Pass, I wanted to pass along some resources and links from the day. You can see that images from the day are being added to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis category in Commons. Note that there is a separate category of images of us from the day (rather than objects). We also received a little press on both the Children's Museum blog: The Wikipedians are Coming! and the Wikipedia Signpost had the event as their lead story last week. I will be continuing to work on organizing TCMI research content and moving forward with the content donation in the coming months. I will probably have an announcement about the content donation sometime around February, and I could certainly use your help in spreading the word at that point. In the meantime, do let me know on the project requests page if you are interested in working on a TCMI-related article and would like to be connected with a curator. That's great that you've been invited to lecture about Wikipedia! I'm sure you've gotten the geonotice about the Bloomington Campus Ambassador program, but there is also an IUPUI group starting. I've been in touch with Annie Lin, one of the Campus Ambassador coordinators at WMF, and she's pretty certain that a Campus Ambassador Training is going to take place at IUPUI. I will likely be in attendance, in spite of the fact that I'm not going to be taking on the usual tasks of a Campus Ambassador (too much to do in GLAM/Museum land). But I'm sure they'd be happy to have you attend as well. They're opening it up to more people with this round of training, I think even if you're just interested in Wikipedia in academia in general.
