WIth all due respect, I think nominating Trout Bum for deletion 3 minutes after it was created was a violation of WP:BITE. Thatcher131 22:01, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Plas Newydd is a house which still exists and therefore deserves its own entry, The Ladies of Llangollen were the occupants of the house for a period of about fifty years and therefore require a separate entry. No merge is required!

Image copyright problem with Image:REM.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:REM.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

The dystopian fiction category merge
I see you're the one who took on recategorizing the Category:Dystopian fiction articles after the merge I nominated. I should have seen this coming, I guess, but the plan all along was to simply delete most of those categorizations for many of the novel articles since they were already subcategorized in Category:Dystopian novels. Myself, and possibly someone else, will be going over those again eventually, which really just made twice the work for everyone in the end. Probably I should have mentioned this somewhere... but then I'm not even sure how you became informed of these.
(Incidentally, I was assured that a bot would be doing this job. Is there a problem on that front by any chance?)

Wales and Somaliland
Don't worry I will restore the information making it clearer.
The Assembly of Wales invited the Speaker of the Somailand Parliament to the opening of the new Assembly building. And try telling the people of Wales that Wales is not a nation .... Rhyddfrydol 16:17, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- ==> point taken - but this is the only way the Welsh Assembly can recognise Somaliland, and it is important since this is the first "recognition". Rhyddfrydol 20:59, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
List of countries by population
I noticed that you added Vatican City, Palestinian territories and Western Sahara explicitly in the introduction. Those countries are in the UN list even though they are not UN members. I think that leaving it as countries/territories recognized by the UN is sufficient. Only Taiwan was not on the UN list. Polaron 22:19, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Wax lips
Now there's a heading I never thought I'd write. :) I noticed you created a redirect at Wax Lips, which doesn't lead to an article. I actually think it could be a pretty interesting article, so just wanted to check to see if you were planning on creating an article for it, or if the redirect should be deleted for now. Or maybe you already created it and it got AfD'd? Anyway, just wondering. I don't mind starting one, as long as it hasn't been AfD'd previously. Thanks. Kafziel 23:07, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
===>No wax lips for me, sir I merely created the redirect from an article that linked Wax Lips; I assumed that someday, someone would make the Wax lips article. Feel free to dive in, as I'm certain that I never will (the day that I'm bored enough on Wikipedia to make an article on this is the day that I shoot myself in the head.) Thanks for asking. -Justin (koavf), talk 01:15, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- I was always more of a wax moustache man myself, but considering all the inane things I've seen on here (and the fact that I work from home and am on Wikipedia at least 8 hrs a day) I think I can make time for the subject. I wonder what kind of verifiable sources I'll be able to come up with... :) Kafziel 07:17, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I see that you uploaded the above image, which appears to be derived ultimately from used by Led Zeppelin on the band's fourth album and in subsequent tours. Someone using an anonymous IP however replaced a fair use tag with the argument that the image was in the public domain. While the runes are obviously public domain, that particular image almost certainly isn't. I've tagged it for now as unlicensed but only because it isn't up to me to make a fair use justification for this image. I'd appreciate it if you could spare some time to examine Wikipedia:Fair use and take appropriate action on this image. Thanks in advance. --Tony Sidaway 16:22, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Recent edits
I don't know what Wikima's agenda is, but I don't see that much of a problem in farming out some of that page to the international relations of the SADR bit. What I do definately see a problem with is the labeling of his/her edits as vandalism when they are clearly not. Please do not enagage in any personal attacks --Robdurbar 18:41, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
To be honest, my reason behind letting this sort of thing go is that I feel quite strongly that the evidence suggests that the Free Zone (region) page should be kept pretty much as it is. If we let some other of Wikima's changes go through, such as the change to the foreign relations of the SADR, then we will be showing that we are not being baised towards his edits, which will make our position much stronger over the issue of the Free Zone.
As for vandalism... I think Wikima has been editing because he believes that he is improving Wikipedia and he has spent a lot of time on the talk page, even if he has not followed 'consensus'. --Robdurbar 06:48, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

WesternSahara-stub
Hi again - you wrote: I personally would not be in favor of the icon, simply because it is inconsistent with the Template:Taiwan-stub. Why the different approach with the Sahara?
- The reason for the difference is straightforward - whereas with many countries a flag is used for a stub icon, there are cases where this is avoided for reasons of potentially perceived political bias. Taiwan's flag is far less controversial than its borders; the opposite is true with Western Sahara. Grutness...wha? 00:22, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Reading your contributions I have the impression that your have made yours all the entries about WS and don't accept any divergent opinion, hey this is WP you got to accept other opinions. This entry is clearly Polisarian propaganda, you like or not, and the discussion page plainly show it.--Kompere 10:57, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- You can't deny that every small event, whether it's in the Sahara or the Polisario camps is exploited by Morocco or Polisario as if it was a major event. Every side is trying to get the international press on its side, the Intifada word user by Polisario for what were very small events should be put in this light and conversely Moroccan authorities have made a lot of noise about troubles that have happened lately in Polisario camps. The examples abound in the francophone press at least. I have added a section in the talk page of Independence Intifada, if you want we can continue our discussion there, oh ! and please don't remove my sentence plain and simple if you continue to do this I will remove what you write too !! this is WP and I am allowed to put my opinion everywhere I want and I sure will exercise my right, notice that I didn't remove what you said, so please respect my opinion too, yours --Kompere 16:15, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Women's Rights Article
Hi, Koavf - I noticed that you put a cleanup request on the women's rights article due to POV and "weasel words." Could you say more on the talk page of the article? I'm one of the people who's done a bunch of editing on it, because when I first encountered it, it didn't make a lot of sense, and I thought someone should take a go at it. But I was a bit stumped on what to do with it, so if you have specific suggestions or complaints, it would be good to read them. I'm not sure what direction your concerns about POV go - not that there aren't POV issues, but other editors have complained about POV going many different directions in different versions of the article. Thanks in advance for your input! - Sasha Kopf 06:52, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Western Sahara Links
I cleaned up the page because it was in violation of Wikipedia Spam. Now I know you think the only kind of spam is going to be websites for viagra, but that is not the case. "Spam" for Wikipedia includes sites that promote ideaology/POV, non-neutral, biased, or they just don't fit in. There are 150 links on this site that are filled with spam and mostly its because the links are so damn long that people think Wiki is a web directory...its not. The External Links need to be short, concise and only offer sites that add to the article, not rehash it nor spew a political view. If the page was "Morocco", then the Moroccan govt site would be appropriate...but its Western Sahara. --Ownlyanangel 00:07, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
Hi, could I urge you not to use the d template when nominating articles for speedy deletion. Its much preferable to use one of the specific templates like db-bio or db-band. If you cannot decide which reason to apply for a speedy deletion, then its probably not a candidate for speedy deletion. Its good to use Prod instead for those cases. Thanks, Gwernol 21:09, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Marcelo Rezende
I didn't notice that this was another of yours. I promise I'm not specifically targeting you. I removed your speedy tag from this article. Vanity is not a speedy criterium nor has it ever been. You can find the criteria at WP:SPEEDY. If you feel strongly about this article, I recommend Prod or a full Afd vote. Dipics 21:18, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Thank you, I stand corrected. Vanity at least strongly implies that the article is autobiographical though. While I have no evidence one way or another, I see no reason to believe that Marcelo was the author. Also, A7 specifically only applied to people or groups that have not asserted notability. I have removed the Prod tag since notability is asserted. The man has won a Pan American championship (at least the article claims so). Under WP:BIO and the discussed Wikipedia:Notability (athletes) this would be a valid reason for inclusion. Dipics 21:36, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Speedy deletion
Please don't add speedy deletion tags, without bothering to read the discussion at pages. The page Bagface has been listed as requested in Wikipedia:Articles requested for more than two years. I have gotten hold of an expert in the area, who I am introducing to Wikipedia. I would not want him to feel alienated before doing his first edit. Bfg 00:05, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- ===>The point And what is this expert going to write on the topic of a slang term in an obscure industry? Is this ever going to be encyclopedic? - I took the liberty of copying your reply to me to this page, in order to keep the discussion in one place. It would be better if you just dropped me a line that you have answered my question. Allthough I always monitor changes to pages I just have edited for at least a couple of days.
- It goes without saying that the page as it is now cannot be called an encyclopedic entry. It is however one of the 5 longest requested articles around in the english wikipedia. If the is not enhanced within a very short time, I have gotten enough information to be able to write it myself. I would however prefer if the writing is done by someone much more knowledgeable than me on this subject, and it doesn't hurt to introduce a new editor. Bfg 00:44, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
You moved Mind The Gap (2004 film) to Mind the Gap (film). I had named the article Mind The Gap (2004 film) for two reasons: 1) The 2004 film’s official website always capitalizes the T in The, and 2) there is a 2005 short film named mind the gap (no capitals), and an unrelated company named Mind The Gap Films (which in all the normal text on their site, capitalize the T in The in their name.)
While there are not pages for the 2005 film nor the production company yet, I assumed—in the Mind the gap (disambiguation)—that they might exist in the future as mind the gap (2005 film) and Mind The Gap Films.
In which case, I would-have-made / will-make Mind the Gap (film) either a disambiguation of the two films and the company, or a redirect to the existing Mind the gap (disambiguation) —MJBurrage • TALK • 17:12, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
No problem. It looks much better now that it has something like 50 citations. It would be nicer if there a few citations that could apply to more than one country at a time. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 17:17, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

- Re: OCA autocephaly—I don't really have "strong" feelings on the issue. I think that it could have been handled a lot better and is possibly doomed to dissolution based on that. In any event, 2/3 of Orthodox in the US are already under one jurisdiction, the EP.
- Re: Chalcedon and reunion—You can find some information about the possibility at this site. I don't know whether it could be accomplished in our lifetime, though I do hope so. I think perhaps it might significantly depend on whether we can figure out how to organize ourselves first so that we might be able to speak with a more united voice. As to what might become of the overlapping patriarchates, well, in the past where there was a healed schism, the parishes under different bishops would be left with their current bishop until one died or retired. They'd then be reallotted accordingly. (Incidentally, I think that would be the best model for Chalcedonian jurisdictional union in the US.)
- Re: Union with Rome—I hope it can happen, but I think Rome has a very long way to go first. I think reunion with the Non-Chalcedonians is much more likely.
- Re: The WikiProject. Perhaps you can include Orthodoxy COTM on your userpage and simply help out on whatever the COTM is.

Patriarchy/Patriarchate
I just wanted to let you know about the issue with the Church in UA that you may be not aware of. I have no objection to your Patriarchy/Patriarchate substitution . There is nothing else in that but the issue of which word is a better Enlgish. However, change of the UOC (MP) to UOC-MP is a more controversial issue that you might not have been aware of,
The organization's official name is just "UOC". However, it is canonically under MP, true enough, and adding (MP) in parentheses to dab it from UOC-KP is useful. But, it is important that the Church itself rejects the phrasing "UOC-MP" to be used as its name, both formally or informally. It calls itself "UOC" admitting, at the same time, its canonical link to MP. On the other hand, the Church opponents do use "UOC-MP" as the church name in derrogatory way to emphasize their POV that this church is not Ukrainian but the Muscovite. Taking no position in the debate ourselves, but taking the position of the church's opponents in choosing the name is not NPOV.
On a separate, though related issue, UOC-KP is indeed the full name of the other large OC in UA.
Sorry, if this all sounds confusing. It is so only because the religious life in UA is confusing too.
Finally, please do not move pages without raising the issue at the talk page, at least informally, and giving the interested parties time to comment. The reason is that page moves are more difficult to undo and they affect more of the WP a great deal, while the edits themselves are much easier to discuss, compromise and (hopefully not) revert. Cheers, --Irpen 05:42, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Why do you keep putting a list of artists they've worked with in the lead? That is not a very good place for it (see WP:LEAD) and I don't think we need to list all of them in the article at all, since they've obviously worked with so many people and it would eventually get kind of ridiculous. Recury 18:25, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- Eh, OK. Well I'm going to put it back to how it was because I think that summarizes the point adequately (that they work with a lot of people). If you really want a list with everyone they've worked with in there, I guess just put it near the bottom or something. Recury 19:30, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Ditto for My Student (Scrubs episode). You should make a room for the poll on the article's talk page; please see the procedure at the top of WP:RM page. Regards Duja 09:40, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
The United Nations uses British date format
Per WP:DATE#Date formats related to topics, "For topics concerning the UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, most member states of the Commonwealth of Nations, and most international organizations such as the United Nations, the formatting is usually 17 February 1958 (no comma and no "th"). In the United States and Canada, it is February 17, 1958." Your recent delinking at United Nations member states on 20 July 2006 would make the article too American-centric while the United Nations uses British date format but not American one even though headquartered in New York. I do not understand your edit summary "clean up and re-categorisation per CFD" as I cannot find anything relevant with WP:CFD. I hope that someone will develop a new code to allow date conversion by users' preferences, but linking is the only way now.--Jusjih 04:50, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- When you know that you have accidentally entered a wrong edit summary, I have learned from Help:Minor edit: "If you accidentally mark an edit as minor when it was in fact a major edit, you should make a second, "dummy" edit, but note that "the previous edit was major" in the edit summary." When going there, you will know how to make a "dummy" edit to correct your recent error so others can understand.--Jusjih 05:51, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Re:Your pictures
Hey, I'm here. Sorry for not responding...I read your comment and was going to leave respond when my hands were less tied and never got to it. the first translation is here. the second one has to do with the 3-19 shooting incident and its hilighted parts states that the shooting was rigged to get sympathy votes and to silence the military vote. (both are rabidly anti-a-bian) --Jiang 06:10, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
In addition, it encourages people to kill/assassinate/execute President Chen. The first image accuse Dalai Lama of owning slave. Evidently the big English word says Taiwan=shame, a very racist comment.--Bonafide.hustla 06:22, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
I support Chinese nationalism, but nowhere near the level of Mr. Happy Happy Happy. The guy is quite well known in the Bay Area for his rather peculiar political views and has been around for quite some time (my dad remembers sighting him since the 1970s). His common hideout is in San Francisco Chinatown. He also hangs out near the UC Berkeley campus where he proclaims an anti-Bush pro-Christian message, ie, Bush is 666. --Jiang 01:16, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Provoking such racial hatred and personal attack (albeit against a specific racial group) is unacceptable. That guy should be arrested. Jiang told me he doesn't endorse the image but apparently he changed. As an administrator and a frequent visitor to Taiwan-China related issue, I sincerely hope he removed the picture and approach the encyclopedia with a neutral unbiased attitude.--Bonafide.hustla 04:53, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok, ll be taking that barnstar back, then. No, haha, just kidding. I don't know how you did it but you're a magician, thanks--T-man, the wise 20:23, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- It's too bad your barnstar reads like someone owns the articles you worked on. I'm sure you're a fine editor. --Chris Griswold 01:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
revert dispute International reactions to the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict
Hi and welcome, There is an dispute in International reactions to the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. The dispute is over inclusion of the AIPAC reaction to a US House of Representatives Resolution expressing support for Israel. Various accusations are being thrown around by Comrade438 eg. im being accused of trying to paint a "zionist conspiracy".
Comrade438 has made few silly edits, and comments, along with what might be a threat. It degenerated to Comrade438 blocking the page without consulting WP:RPP, then reverting last changes. I am trying to alert other users who have edited the article to this dispute as I believe the detail should be included. Is it possible you can look and see if you agree that AIPAC's reaction should be included in the article? I dont believe its a content issue and is possible trolling. I previously highlighted the problems on wikipedian noticeboard [1] 82.29.227.171 21:28, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your agreement on the talk page. Please try to bring this issue to the attention of others who can commnt. I would also like to add detail on reaction of Christian Right lobby, particularly representations made to congress and in press by John Hagee last week. Should Comrade438 be allowed to censor the reaction of AIPAC to the HR then it is more likely that details of reaction by other lobby groups will also be shouted down with wild accusations. 82.29.227.171 23:48, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Album article
Thanks, I knew I'd got it wrong and was searching for the article (I was distracted on the way to edit it). There's also a mistake in one with some Morse code, that I meant to fix manually, and am now searching for. I will find it... Thanks again. Rich Farmbrough 16:04 30 July 2006 (GMT).
Move for My Student
I've completed your move request for My Student. In the future, please follow all of the steps to request a move. You're clearly frustrated by the delay in completing move requests but the backlog is partially caused by people not following those relatively simple steps. (I usually send people to the back of the line in those cases but this one was unopposed and pretty straightforward). Thanks for your patience and future cooperation. —Wknight94 (talk) 11:18, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
