A tag has been placed on AnsaldoBreda P2550, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Gold Line (Los Angeles Metro). Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Please attribute or claim media you uploaded or restored: File:Blue Wardlow Station.jpg

edit

You uploaded or restored , File:Blue Wardlow Station.jpg, but for various reasons did not add an {{information}} block, or indicate your (user) name on the file description page. Media uploaded to Wikipedia needs information on the SPECIFIC authorship and source of files, to ensure that it complies with copyright laws in various jurisdictions.

If it's entirely your own work:
please include {{own}} in the relevant source field, amend the {{information}} added by a third party, ensuring that your user name (or name you want used for attribution) is clear in the author field, and change the license to an appropriate "self" variant (if such a license is not already used). You should also add an |author= parameter to the license tag, to assist reviews and image patrollers. You can also add |claimed=yes and an |author=to the {{media by uploader}} or {{presumed_self}} tag if it is present to indicate that you've acknowledged the image, and license shown (and updated the {{information}} where appropriate).

If it's not entirely your own work, or the media is based on the work of others:
Please update the source and authorship fields, so that they accurately reflect the source and authors of the original work(s), as well as the derivative you created. You should also not use a "self" license unless the work is entirely you own. Media that is incorrectly claimed as self or {{own}}, will eventually be listed at Files for Discussion or deleted, unless it's full status is entirely clear to other contributors, reviewers and image patrollers. You should also read Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission which details how to confirm any permissions you obtained for works by others that are still in copyright.

Whilst this notification, relates to a single media upload, it would also be appreciated if you could ensure that appropriate attribution exists for other media you uploaded, You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

It's okay to remove or strike messages like this once the concerns have been addressed. :). ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 23:10, 4 July 2018 (UTC)ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 17:59, 7 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Westwood/VA Hospital station moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Westwood/VA Hospital station, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Blue Line Shuttle.jpeg

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Blue Line Shuttle.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://thesource.metro.net/2018/08/08/metros-350-million-investment-in-modernizing-the-blue-line-will-begin-in-january-2019/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Your draft article, Draft:Westwood/UCLA station

edit

Hello, Lars Smiley. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "UCLA station".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Dolotta (talk) 16:50, 29 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Former color names of LA Metro lines

edit

Firstly, the inclusion of a fact in the infobox is not a substitute for including it in the article body. That's not what infoboxes are for. They're summaries, not replacements.

Secondly, significant alternate names, including former names that redirect to the article, belong in the lead in boldface. Now that doesn't mean they have to be in the very first sentence, but the way that these leads have phrased the name change doesn't even include it until the very last sentence of the lead. That makes it burying the major fact "below the fold" to use an old newspaper editorial term.

Fact is these lines have only been renamed within the last few months, and for most of their history were known by the color names. References to historical events should use the name that was in use at the time, and not anachronistically use the current name for past events. The A Line did not open in 1992, the Blue Line did, though it was later renamed. Not acknowledging that name change at the very top of the article is a disservice to readers unfamiliar with the history, the exact sort of reader who would be looking for the article. oknazevad (talk) 23:48, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Transmissions in the new units.

edit

What makes you think the newer New Flyer Xcelsior 60 foot buses (8765 and above) have Allison B3400xFE Transmissions? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.243.71.217 (talk) 08:17, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Revert of G Line

edit

Hi, please look at the naming on Metro's official website: https://www.metro.net/riding/schedules/ . Also "Metro" is a marketing brand. Without mentioning it, how would a reader know what "Metro" is? You can't assume th reader is from LA and already heard of Metro and knows it's run by the MTA, right? Remember English Wikipedia serves people all over the world. (For example, I don't live in the US now). Mistakefinder (talk) 02:15, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Because it's literally branded on all Metro owned vehicles and infrastructure. It isn't needed as the Wikipedia pages already states it's owned and operated by Metro. It's common sense. Lars Smiley (talk) 15:53, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Long Beach Transit

edit

I know we don't want to start a fight on Metrolink vs. Metro Rail, but I was quoting the Carson City Council agenda on tier levels. Long Beach Transit and the City of Carson have no plans to serve LA Harbor College and the Artesia [A Line] Station at the time. The city council mistakenly referred the A Line station as "Metrolink". I only referred Metro as "Metrolink" because I was citing sources from different websites (including city council meetings and Long Beach Transit). Yes, I am calling myself an idiot for you. In other words, you don't have to call me an idiot for everyone to see. PuppyCatBree (talk) 14:47, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Well you incorrectly cited the statement by not quoting. And I never called you an idiot. But you're entitled to your opinion. Lars Smiley (talk) 09:33, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reversion of your A Line edit

edit

Hello,

This is a courtesy notice that your recent A Line edit was reverted. While I agree with your projection, it is not the official one. Until Metro says otherwise (and changes their site to reflect it), we can't make that change.

If you want, we can leave a citation to (an ARCHIVED version specifically) https://www.metro.net/projects/connector-2/. This will allow people to regularly check if the projected date has changed, and update the page accordingly. Amyipdev (talk) 19:26, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Siemens P2000

edit

G'day. This message is to inform you that your addition of content regarding the original GTO–VVVF inverter of the Siemens P2000 has twice already been removed and archived in the page history as you have added it without providing a reliable source for verification. These two are actually mandatory for all your contributions to Wikipedia; even if the sound is similar to the DART SLRV, self-assumption of the inverter based on sound counts as original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Not only does original research refer to material (i.e. facts, allegations, ideas, personal experiences) for which no reliable, published sources exist, but it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. I once again remind you that you must always include a citation before re-adding this type of content. For more information click here, or to learn how to cite sources, check out the tutorial here. Thank you for your cooperation. Edgar Searle (talk) 21:06, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

December 2023

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, you may be blocked from editing. XtraJovial (talkcontribs) 17:25, 5 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Site the violation directly or be disregarded. Lars Smiley (talk) 20:33, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't think that's the best idea given your track record of adding and restoring unsourced content and original research, but hey, that's your prerogative. I just reverted your three most recent edits to Los Angeles Metro Rail rolling stock, two of which were made on November 30. It was completely unclear what the claims you introduced were cited to, if they were cited at all. If you want to continue being lazy (your words, not mine), feel free, but it won't benefit you (or the encyclopedia) in the long run. XtraJovial (talkcontribs) 16:02, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at CRRC HR4000. XtraJovial (talkcontribs) 07:46, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

You will look very uneducated when the recent clips of the HR4000 goes public. I guarantee that wherever you're editing from it's far away from the LA metropolitan area. As a native to the area, your blocking threats a very redundant. Lars Smiley (talk) 17:02, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
That means you'll be able to provide a reliable source... right? XtraJovial (talkcontribs) 17:16, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
By that, you mean my very own camera roll? Sure, except I didn't take photos and videos this time. But others did, and they've been posted. The last thing I've been a direct source was for the Grade Crossing project of the G Line with the photo I took at Hayvenhurst and Victory. Lars Smiley (talk) 17:23, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Maybe you should do some field work sometime... Lars Smiley (talk) 17:24, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
