Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Dora the Explorer (film) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. This page should not be moved via the regular process either until a WP:RS is produced verifying the film's title change. --IJBall (contribstalk) 12:39, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Dates in cite templates

edit

Hello. You recently changed the formatting in the cite web templates with this edit at Mr Inbetween. Access dates are sometimes different than dates of press releases in Wikipedia, and, in particular, Futon press releases only include the release dates in their URLs. Therefore, whenever I add their press releases to episode tables, I never use the date parameter, only the access-date one. I will thank you for not correcting these in the future. — Wyliepedia @ 09:41, 18 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Adding the new source about the third Walking Dead seeies

edit

I was hesitant to add it in its 2020 in American television because I felt like a premiere approximation wasn’t enough new information to justify making it the second source. I was gonna wait for the title and add that article as the source. Should today’s source just be replaced by it when the time comes?--Simmerdon3448 (talk) 05:28, 6 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Search Party/Rick and Morty

edit

I saw you did end up adding Search Party to programs returning in 2020. Its second season ended only a couple months after Rick and Morty, and in fact their upcoming seasons were ordered in April and May of last year respectively. Rick and Morty is infamous for its lengthy hiatuses at this point. Not only that, but animation takes time. I wanted to ask how you would handle it. I honestly don’t think Rick and Morty should be listed in the returning section for 2019, it just wouldn’t feel right, you know what I mean?--Simmerdon3448 (talk) 03:57, 8 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Do not unhide the next row in a ratings table simply because the episode has aired. The row remains empty except for duplicate information (the title and the date), and therefore has no use. Request reason:

The Blade of the Northern Lights 331dot Magitroopa IJBall HeartGlow30797 Oshwah The reason I took off the reference in The Outpost (TV series) is because those season were over. I see other shows that don't have those references in previous seasons and only have them in their current seasons and wanted to give the same thing in The Outpost. But I should have asked first before doing that. The reason I do (Cite web) instead of (Cite news) or (Cite press release) is because I like it short, sweet and to the point. But I should have asked first before doing that. The reason for rearranging is because I like doing the cites like this: (Cite web last= first= title= url= work= date=). But I should have asked first before doing that. What I did wrong was not ask before I did any edits. I won't do it again because I realize that I'm not the only editor and I need to ask for permission before adding or changing something to a page. I would like for a page for an upcoming TV show or special to be added, to have more people contribute to adding programming to BET+ and have people add the upcoming programming to Discovery+. Decline reason:

The reply to IJBall down-thread is a step in the right direction, but insufficient given the past history of warnings. I would suggest taking a few weeks' break, then come back and file a new unblock request that concisely demonstrates a clear understanding of WP:V and the relevant discussions at WT:TV signed, Rosguill talk 22:28, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Which means you don't understand WP:V, and have not read WT:TV, where we've had several discussions that sourcing should not be removed even after an episode(s) have aired (for a number of reasons). The rest of what you say above does not demonstrate to me that you have learned from past mistakes (yet). If you want to get unblocked, you're going to have to demonstrate a greater understanding of your mistakes than this – "other editors were mean to me" is not going to cut it in this case. --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:31, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'll also add in here... Honestly, the ordering of reference fields (the "Cite web last= first= title= url= work= date=" order you mentioned) is the least of my worries. I'd say that probably just comes down to preference, as well as just going by the order listed on the template page.
I don't really understand the explanation of using "cite web" as opposed to "cite news"/"cite press release"- "because I like it short, sweet and to the point"? The point of different templates is to be using the correct one for the given situation, not just picking which you prefer. Most of the sources you use from The Futon Critic (such as this from this edit of yours) clearly states "[via press release from CBS]" at the top of it. That would mean Template:Cite press release is the best to use for it, as it states, "This Citation Style 1 template is used to create citations for press releases." I'm even confused by your July 2020 edit on Rugrats here where you are changing already-existing citations from cite news to cite web. I've even previously warned you specifically regarding all of this- did you somehow miss it or just decide to ignore it? With that warning back from July and you still doing it up to now, it's clear you didn't change your editing habits/behavior from then.
Regarding removing citations from pages, I've warned you multiple times on your talk page, and I'm sure a lot might've had to do with that. Here's a few edits I later had to revert back where you are removing multiple citations with no explanation whatsoever. Yes, there are certain things that don't explicitly require a source (such as common knowledge), but removing sources for things such as air/premiere dates is not helpful whatsoever. In regards to my previously linked edit in this paragraph (source removals from List of programs broadcast by Nickelodeon regarding Blue's Clues & You!)- yes, obviously now that it has aired, we know it premiered on November 11, 2019. However, it's entirely likely that not having the sources included there, a few years from now, someone can just change the date and then we no longer have any source to verify what the correct date is. That's why sources are used on Wikipedia in the first place- to help verify information, not just to have it be there and then get rid of it as soon as whatever it is has happened.
Just looking at your talk page alone, it seems you've received 8 different 'final warnings' since the first in April 2019, I'm not quite sure how it's taken this long for something to be done about all of this. Also interesting to note that prior to today, your previous time replying to something here was back in June, despite the countless warnings you've received since then, now today is the first time since then you've decided to respond to any sort of warning, and seemingly only because this time it was a block instead. IJBall I have read WT:TV and I finally understand WP:V. I finally realize the mistakes I made when it comes to editing. I really am sorry for the constant disrupting and if you unblock me I will do everything to prove to you guys that this behavior will never happen again. Lonniemitchell22 (talk) 05:26, 15 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I won't object to an unblocking at this point – but it has to be with the understanding that, 1) you will communicate going forward (as this has been one of the biggest issues with your editing), and 2) if you are reverted on something you will a) stop that kind of editing, and b) hopefully ask for clarification from whoever you reverted you so that you understand the issues behind the reversion. If you can stick to these behaviors going forward, you shouldn't be a "problematic editor" any longer. --IJBall (contribstalk) 05:44, 15 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

American Idol results color template

edit

Hello there my name is TVSGuy, and I share an interest in television and reality programs such as American Idol. As I am busy in real life, I may not be able to do any big-scale updates and right now, AI was left with an incomplete update for seasons 4-15 (FOX-era) changing of the color templates to match the ones similar to seasons 16 onwards (ABC-era). If time permits, could you take your time to change the color templates to follow Season 16's format (you can use that as a reference; Seasons 1-3 so far have also done but seasons 4-15 are not).

I tried calling for others to help or even post on a noticeboard but there was no response however. I seems to lose hope until the premiere of Season 19, and that's where I find some of that to look for help if possible. I am glad that if you can do so, please let me know and if you are available to work on for the remainder of the seasons.

Thanks for your appreciation to help! TVSGuy (talk) 16:15, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

access-date

edit

accessdate or access-date is the date you access the url, not the date you think is the publish date and the Futon Critic never explicitly stated that is the date they posted it, so please stop adding the publish date and using it as the access-date. This is considered to be WP:SYNTH, part of WP:OR. For example, this [1] is actually shows the published date at the top of the press release. The Futon Critic do not add posted date on TV listings press release themselves, for example [2], the published date is not on the TV listings press release itself. — YoungForever(talk) 04:22, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

I added the sources where I got the information from.[1][2] Lonniemitchell22 (talk) 21:13, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Again, they never stated that date as the season finale. You are still adding WP:SYNTH. Here is an example that stated the season finale:FBI:Most Wanted which states 5/25/21 as Second Season Finale next to the date. Here is another example: Prodigal Son which says 5/18/21 as the season finale next to it. Did the Futon Critic listed the dates of The Good Doctor and A Million Little Things as their respective season finale explicitly? No, they did not. All they listed next to the dates are TBA (*) which means you are adding WP:SYNTH which is WP:OR. We cannot assumed that they are the season finales as they still say TBA(*) next to the dates. — YoungForever(talk) 21:26, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Lonniemitchell22,

You’ve made many helpful contributions to the 2021-22 United States network television schedule page. I tend to the late-night, afternoon, and morning schedules. As you’ve noticed, TJ1523 is committing non-stop vandalism across all network schedules. Other users and I have reverted this user’s edits several times over to no avail. Speedy deletion nomination of Power Book IV: Force

edit

A tag has been placed on Power Book IV: Force requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

There is an actual draft article here Power Book IV: Force ready for article space which is blocked by this redirect, it would be very adequate if this redirect page was deleted to create space for the appropriate article

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. March 2024

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to List of The Neighborhood episodes, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Please do not match WGA writers with the Futon Critic as WGA do not include episode titles, this is considered to be WP:SYNTH (a part of WP:SYNTH as we do not know the order for sitcoms and/or when drama series already have 1-2 episodes aired out of order. — YoungForever(talk) 03:57, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Warning You often edit without using an edit summary. You have previously been warned about this twice, and you are still not using an edit summary to explain your edits, like this unexplained revert at List of The Simpsons episodes. Edit summaries are particularly important when you are removing references and sourced content from an article. According to the consensus policy, all edits should be explained (unless the reason for them is obvious)—either by clear edit summaries, or by discussion on the associated talk page. This is your third notice, I suggest you start paying attention, and responding, to the concerns raised about your editing behavior. Isaidnoway (talk) 08:17, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding everyone on the cast list in the episodes, only the starring cast belong there FYI. Please read the details of the episodes on The Futon Critic which states state who are starring at the top of the episode listing details. — YoungForever(talk) 03:52, 16 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
