Deletion discussion about Loonatheworld
editHello, Magmamatt, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Chris troutman, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Loonatheworld, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Loonatheworld.
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Chris troutman}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

@Chris troutman: okay, does this mean loonaverse:from will also be discussed for deletion? also i believe that loonatheworld tour should not be deleted considering that it is a major tour across the usa, and that will only expand as the tour goes on. just my opinion matt. (talk) 12:54, 15 July 2022 (UTC) matt. (talk) 12:54, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- As stated above, you can voice your opinion at the deletion discussion. Wikipedia does not have a notability rule to protect major tours across the USA. We need multiple, in-depth, reliable sources on any topic for a standalone article. Please read what I have already told you, instead of sinking into your own preference on the matter. We cannot have a conversation if you refuse to listen. Chris Troutman (talk) 15:14, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Chris troutman:
- just realized i misread this and i know understand what you meant. sorry if i came off as rude matt. (talk) 05:37, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
so will loonaverse from also be deleted matt. (talk) 15:19, 15 July 2022 (UTC)

April 2023
editHello, I'm Lightoil. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Chuu (singer), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Allkpop is not a reliable source per WP:KO/RS#UR Lightoil (talk) 03:47, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of 1916-17 Springfield Streetcar Strike
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on 1916-17 Springfield Streetcar Strike requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://greenecountymo.gov/files/files.php?id=85. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. TartarTorte 02:34, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- Do i need to update the copyright information? The file in the text is old enough to be public domain as it is from 1917, well before the 1928 cutoff. matt. (talk) 02:44, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Magmamatt, the article that I'm having it matching has a publishing date in 2004, unless I'm mistaken related to something. I would like to be mistaken though, because I do really like the article and it's a fascinating topic. TartarTorte 03:07, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- I do greatly appreciate your interest in the topic. :)
- After further research I have removed the images from all articles, I was unable to find any clear copyright information between of any of the three parties (Author of the article, The Greene county archive, and the History Museum of Springfield(Who the author claims provided the images.))
- On that note, I do have access to many images provided to an author of a book talking about the history of the Ozarks and Springfield. This book has multiple photos that, to my knowledge, do not exist online. The photos were provided from a number of sources, including the Springfield Art Museum, History Museum of Springfield, as well as many personal photographs. If I find out if these photos could be used I would more then happy to find a high quality way to digitize these images.
- The book in question is Springfield of the Ozarks: An Illustrated History - Harris & Phyllis Dark
- Published in 1981 - ISBN: 0-89781-028-7 matt. (talk) 04:10, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

Marking edits as minor
editHi Magmamatt! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at One of a Kind that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. —ShelfSkewed Talk 05:07, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- thank you for this, helps a lot! I will keep this in mind for my future edits! matt. (talk) 05:35, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
