Speedy deletion nomination of ZER01: The Art and Technology Network

edit

A tag has been placed on ZER01: The Art and Technology Network requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of ZER01: The Art and Technology Network

A tag has been placed on ZER01: The Art and Technology Network requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Fair use rationale for File:Zer01 logo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Zer01 logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 22:49, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (File:Zero1 logo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Zero1 logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 22:50, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

My article on Zer01 was deleted under section G12(copyright infringement) for speedy deletion. I received a letter of consent from Zer01 and I am writing this article only on their behalf and have no personal gains. I am copying the consent letter here on my talk page. Based on this I request the administrators to permit me to add the article back on wikipedia.

Letter of consent:

Re: Copyright Permission

Dear Wikipedia Representative:

I am writing to address a recent posting on ZER01’s Wikipedia page/article regarding copyright infringement. This is to inform you that ZER01 is the author of both the original content and the content on the Wikipedia page in question. Nidhi Srivastava is the architect of ZER01’s Wikipedia article and is authorized to use any and all information from the ZER01 website (zero1.org), 01SJ Biennial website (01sj.org) or any other ZER01 original content that she elects to use.

If there are additional problems or questions regarding copyright infringement of any original ZER01 content, please contact me at doniece@zero1.org or 415.846.4988

Regards,

Doniece Sandoval Chief External Relations Officer

I request help on this. If I have letter of consent and my article was deleted under G12 (copyright infringement), what can I do to re-post my article. What are the other conditions I need to fulfil.

Hello. You should read WP:COPYREQ for information on how to proceed in this situation. Please note, however, that in order for copyrighted text to be used on Wikipedia (outside of the occasional blockquote) it most likely must be released for public use as well. Help re advert

edit

{{helpme}}

My article has been tagged as an advertisement. I have added references and quotes from people and newspapers.I have also talked about biennials that are large scale festivals. By appearing on Wikipedia, this article will create awareness about such a large cultural and digital activity in modern times. The article aims to inform people about Zer01, the art and technology network that brings artists from across the world to create wonders.

I have read lots of articles on Wikipedia and this article seems to have the perfect tone. What else can I do to remove the 'advertisement' tag from my article.

  • It is not "your" article - see WP:OWN
  • Phrases such as dedicated to inspiring culture at the edge of art and technology, a showcase for international groundbreaking installations, a catalyst and platform for presenting some of the world’s most innovative artists are not encyclopaedic; it sounds like a marketing brochure. Who considers these installations to be groundbreaking, who thinks that they are innovative artists? None of these 'facts' can be sourced to independent reliable sources, such as newspaper articles, etc.
  • Press-releases are not generally acceptable references; they are primary sources.
  • There are lots of 'bad' articles on Wikipedia which do not meet these standards; we're working on that - please help. The fact that these exist is, however, not a good reason for adding more. See WP:OTHERSTUFF.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction; please do not 'shoot the messenger' - I'm merely trying to indicate what needs doing. Best of luck,  Chzz  ►  17:55, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Refactored talkpage

edit

Hi there. I have moved the OTRS query, and the helpme, into separate == Sections == at the end of your talk page; it's much easier if questions and discussions are separated this way, as it avoids confusion. Please add further questions at the end of your talk page, in a new section. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  17:46, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I had added quotes from artists around the globe to add references and provide citations. Most of these have been deleted and at the same time have been asked again to provide references and sources. Also, most of the external links have been deleted. I have added back the biennial link. ZER01 is aimed to encourage digital art and culture and the biennials are such large scale festivals that bring together artists from around the world. Such festivals are important for cultural growth of all nations and so the article should be a part of wikipedia. Manasmom (talk) 17:17, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you have disagreements with how the article has been edited, you should discuss it with the editor(s) who made the changes by going to their talk page(s) or on the article's talk page at Talk:ZER01: The Art and Technology Network. If this does not answer your question, please put the helpme tag back and give more detail, and I or another user will help you. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 19:41, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of 01SJ Biennial

edit

A tag has been placed on 01SJ Biennial, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Your request

edit

I'm sorry that I didn't see your request of March 12 until today -- you put it on my user page, not my talk page, and I only noticed it by accident. I have retrieved the deleted material you requested and placed it at the bottom of User:Manasmom/The 01SJ Biennial -- it seems as though there is a different version there already, and I've added mine to the bottom of the page. You may want to have a look at, among other things, Wikipedia's advertising policy and this basic introduction to the creation of Wikipedia articles. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a note on my talk page, by clicking on the word "talk" after my signature. Accounting4Taste:talk 23:15, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I forgot to mention: I deleted the redirect you created from your own userpage, User:Manasmom, to an article in the "articlespace" of Wikipedia. It's not allowed to have a redirect working like that in either direction. It may have been a inadvertently-created artifact when you moved a page that you were working on on your user page; not to worry. Accounting4Taste:talk 23:17, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of 01SJ Biennial

edit

A tag has been placed on 01SJ Biennial requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
