Recent edits to Li Ching-Yuen

Hello :User:Masssly, care to explain why you feel it was better before? Every other biography page has age at death and I took pains to emphasise that it was a claimed age. If it was that we haven't an exact date, then every article I've every read on him gives those ages and ages aren't usually sourced so I didn't.

Thanks for alerting me though, it was very considerate of you, few users would have done the same.

Hello Gothaparduskerialldrapolatkh, I noticed you included Li Ching-Yuen's aged as 256 or 197 and so I reverted your edit (without looking at his birth date) because it was impossible for one to live that long. Having now looked carefully it is either his birth or his death is wrong I don't know which. One of them must be deleted. I am open to your suggestions. Meanwhile you were not wrong to include the age because both his birth and death dates were already in the article. Cheers!—M@sssly^✉ 18:25, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply, regarding whether to delete Li Ching Yuen's birth or death date, I think I remember reading somewhere that his death was reported at the time in a newspaper, I'm not sure which, it might have been the times. Hope this helps!

• The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from July 7. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis from July 8. It will be on all Wikipedias from July 9 (calendar).
• The "Page information" tool shows how many users watch the page. You can now see how many are active. [3] [4]
• You can now translate articles into English with the new translation tool. [5]

• You can now use redirects to link to JavaScript pages. [12]
• You cannot use the compact user bar any more. [13]
• You can change your options to see bigger images. [14]
• You can watch short videos about how to use VisualEditor. [15]
• You can now edit pages linked in "what links here" more easily. [16]

Problems

• There was a problem with some Lua modules on July 22 and 23. Some pages using them did not list them in "what links here". You can fix those pages with a null edit: edit and save the page without making any change.
• There was a problem with the abuse filter page on big wikis on July 23. It was due to a code error. [17]
