U.S. Route 10 in Wisconsin

I had fully intended to add the milemarker (I was also going to add CTH-SS (future WIS 161)). As Lake Rd. currently has no access whatsoever to US-10, I couldn't figure out how to get an accurate measurement with Google Maps and didn't want to add any incorrect data. If you have any tips with this I'd be more than willing to add the info EC2 22:43, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

I found a site (http://wispolitics.com/index_pda.iml?Article=96444) that lists the milage from CTH J to Lake Rd (the entire project) at 5.9 miles - I added this to the milemarker for CTH-J to get the distance. I hope it's relatively accurate.EC2 03:09, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Erie Transportation & Talk Page

You don't have to worry about me tagging articles for Erie transportation (when WP:ERIE was new & it's scope was still being decided, I was almost fanatical in feeling that broad subjects shouldn't be included with Erie). I like the new color, by the way.

I was able to place a table of contents on my talk page. I'm still trying to figure how to do section editing though (if can you figure out a way without drastically altering it, please go right ahead) Figured out how to get section editing. --Dtbohrertalkcontribs 15:20, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Pennsylvania Turnpike

I noticed that you added the Citecheck tag to Pennsylvania Turnpike, but did not explain what sources you felt were inappropriate or misinterpreted on the Talk page. Could you please visit the Talk page and let us know what sources you think were unreliable? If your concern is the amount of source material/uncited statements, then refimprove may be a more appropriate tag. In any case, could you please come over to Talk:Pennsylvania Turnpike and clue us in? Your input is welcome. Thanks, -Clubjuggle 07:41, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the speedy reply! I'm good with that explanation. If you agree, I'll go ahead and remove {{cleanup-pash}}, replace {{citecheck}} with {{refimprove}}, and put a {{cleanup}} tag on the Talk page. Thanks! --Clubjuggle 07:59, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

An important letter

Dear roads editor,

You may have noticed some changes at WP:USRD lately. Some of them, like the cleanup templates and the stub templates, have been astounding and great. Unfortunately, others have been disturbing.

This has become evidenced by the departure of a few prominent editors at USRD, a few RFC's, and much fighting among USRD editors.

After the second RFC, many of us found the opportunity to take a step away from Wikipedia for a while--as a self-imposed wikibreak, or possibly on vacation.

The result of such introspection was that many of us were placing ourselves in a "walled garden" and on a self-imposed pedestal of authority over the roads department. Also, we were being hostile to a few users who were not agreeing with us.

In fact, IRC has been the main incarnation of this "walled garden." Decisions have been made there to conduct grudges and prejudices against a few valued USRD users with poor justification.

For this, we have come to apologize. We have come to ask your forgiveness.

In addition to this, we hope to work as one USRD team from now on and to encourage cooperation instead of the promotion of interests.

All users are welcome to collaborate on IRC, the newsletter, or anywhere else at USRD.

In the future, please feel free to approach us about any issues you may have.

Regards,

U.S. Route 10 in Wisconsin

I drove 10 from Appleton to Stevens Point last Friday for stockcar races at Golden Sands Speedway near Wisconsin Rapids. I wrote down the exits and cross traffic zones. I left a message on the article's talk page for you. Royalbroil 00:20, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

County roads in Hennepin County, Minnesota

Detour Image on I-35W

Thanks for looking into the license status of the image. I was checking my watchlist on my lunch break and didn't have time for a full lookup. I figured if we're going to put the image in, at least put it at standard size. However, but me in the column of "it doesn't add anything to the article," at least not in the infobox. In the exit list, I can maybe see some merit, but not in the infobox. —C.Fred (talk) 03:40, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Your edit to Talk:Chesapeake Bay Bridge

The recent edit you made to this page did nothing other than removing the WikiProject Roads in Maryland template and moving the WikiProject U.S. Roads template to the top, both have been reported as known issues with the Kingbotk plugin. Just thought I'd let you know, and be careful when using this on any other page that uses a banner-enclosing template such as {{BannerShell}}.-Jeff (talk) 11:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for nominating the KMSD for the Did You Know section on the main page. I had no idea that you were planning to do that! I consider this nomination to be my 25th successful nomination, and that's a special number to me. I'm plan that we got to collaborate on this article! I've always enjoyed working with you. Since you might have been missed by the DYK helper, here's the DYK box:

On 27 August, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Thanks - and congratulations man - the fact about Road America turned out to be a good hook. master sonT - C 17:05, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
I would have sourced it (if possible) if I would have know that you were going to use it. I would have taken a picture of the Marsh sign. It is an excellent hook. I didn't even consider listing the article on the DYK section. Royalbroil 20:59, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Template Discussion

No worries! I know you guys are trying to come to a consensus on the format for articles, and I seemed like an outsider that randomly contrasted your efforts - it's true, when you think about it. USRD Inactivity check and news report

Hello, Master son. We had a few urgent matters to communicate to you:

  1. Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
  2. There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

Regards, Rschen7754 (T C) 23:25, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Seney Stretch Picture

If I were to crop just the windshield out of the picture, would it be a reasonable picture for the article?

Would this be an alright substitute?

Wrifraff101 03:13, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

MNSH

Take a look at User:Sable232/Sandbox. Do you think that's a good format for the county highway articles? (Alternately, do you think it's worthwhile making these articles in the first place?) --Sable232 02:55, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Honestly, county routes are better off as lists as such here (I'm assuming that this is for one county 8) ) and this looks perfect. NE2 has also made a list for County roads in Hennepin County, Minnesota which might be worth looking at. As for individual articles, unless the route has a major historical significance or is a key freeway - I would not make an article for a county route. Cheers master sonT - C 05:43, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for making me aware about the policy involving bannered routes. As a result, I added a new section to Highway 371 about the Business route (with the new shield image), and just set the article page I had created for the Business route as a redirect to the new section (unless you want to delete it permanently) SpaceJunkie (talk) 21:35, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

I have, thank you for the information.  — master sonT - C 22:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

No; I can generally find the article title with some creative searching, but if not I just give the newspaper and date. For these small newspapers it won't be too hard for someone wishing verification and having access to copies to just page through and find it. In this case, however, I can barely read the headline under the big photo: "Change Number of Highway to Avoid Conflict", and that's confirmed with a search. --NE2 23:36, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
