RfC on Featured List Criteria section 3b
editHello. You are receiving this message as you previously posted in the ongoing RfC on whether Featured List Criteria section 3b should be modified or eliminated. Based on feedback and commentary received during the section-by-section analysis of the current criteria, I have proposed a new version of the criteria here. I would like your input on ways to improve and refine this proposal, in hopes of reaching consensus to implement this change to the criteria. Thank you for your attention. –Grondemar 17:12, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject North America is OFFICIAL!
editHi. Since you indicated an interest at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/North America, I am happy to inform you that Wikipedia:WikiProject North America has officially been created. As one of the original supporters, you're at the top of the list of people being invited to join. Sven Manguard Talk 08:45, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Question
editHello Matthewedwards, I noticed you archived Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Backlog Countermeasure. I really wanted to create this Wikiproject. According to this it wasn't getting any pageviews. Is there any way I could try and promote it and try and get enough members? Thanks, --Alpha Quadrant talk 17:50, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- It likely got no pageviews because it wasn't listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals, so no one knew about it. Read the guide for starting it, make the proposal and make sure it's listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals, and then think about advertising it. If it's to clear the backlogs, visit talk pages of the backlog pages. If you see certain editors frequently going through certain backlogs, hit them up on their talk pages and let them know about your proposal. On your proposal page, set out your scope clearly, and try to address the points Iridescent raised at the first one. Matthewedwards : Chat 18:27, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
WikiProject East Asia
editHi there. Please unarchive Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/East Asia. It has the required number of signatures, and I am more that willing to go through the process of making and maintaining it, I just don't know how to. I asked the IP that put forth WikiProject North America to help (as he also submitted the original proposal for WikiProject North America) but he hasn't gotten back to me. If he does, or if I manage to track down the procedure, I intend on creating the project in short order. Any assistance you can give would also be helpful. Please be aware that this is my last posting before going to sleep (2:00 AM local for me) but I will respond to anything you bring up in roughly 10-12 hours.
Thanks, Sven Manguard Talk 06:02, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I'm going through the entire page at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals this evening and archiving anything older than three months -- something that should be done on a regular basis but hasn't, it seems. Now, I agree that this Wikiproject should exist, and my archiving is not to be taken an indication that it shouldn't, just that the proposal has been open the required length of time and the project never came about.
- It's not worth reopening the proposal now, to be honest. Other than your comment two days ago, it's sat stagnant for nearly two months. If you are interested in starting the Project, details on how to form it are given at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide, while Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide/WikiProject details how to actually set it up. You might wish to contact the other editors who signed, to see if interest still exists, otherwise the project might end up going stale.
- If the Project does get set up, I'll just amend the archiving to say it was created. And if you need any help, I'll be happy to do so. Best, Matthewedwards : Chat 06:17, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you, considering what you said, I will likely start working on creating it on November 1st, when I have less previous off-Wiki commitments. I know that there is support for this, it's just a matter of putting the word out. After all, how many people find the proposal page. I only did because it was shown to me at the AfC talk page. - I was wondering how long proposals sat open. As all these proposals sat open for so long, and I proposed North America and East Asia at the same time, I had expected there'd be some time to get both up and running. I just got North America up (this week), so I expected to have some time to get East Asia up as well. As you said, no new proposal is needed, then I'll get that underway on the weekend, with Sven Manguard's help again. PS. My IP has been rotating so it will not appear the same as during the initial proposal. It should hopefully be up and ready by next Monday. 76.66.203.138 (talk) 09:13, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, the page says that proposals should last 3 months, but archiving hasn't been done for ages. I found some from November 2009 that were still open. Hope you get the WikiProject set up, I do think it would be a good idea to have one. Let me know if you need help with it. Also, Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Asia has the required 5 signatures and that WikiProject was recently created, so maybe you might want to think about helping with that one, too. Wikipedia:WikiProject East Asia could be a daughter project of Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia. Matthewedwards : Chat 21:32, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Photo Advisory template for user talk pages
editAny help you can render in respect of {{Uw-photo-advisory}} greatly appreciated..
The intent of the template is that it should work like the tags you used to get back from PhotoLabs, along the lines of ' Subject out Of Focus' 'Did you shake the camera?' 'Under exposed','Verticals not vertical' (i.e camera was roated when the image was obtained.) type advice.
The wording needs to be considered as clearly image uploaders aren't all going to be photographic experts, and some percived faults (like for example under.over-exposure) might actually be part of the image for artistic effect. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:35, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
