Editnotice

Hi Mbz1. I removed the editnotice so it doesn't appear at the top of your Talk page. Now it only shows up at the top of the page when somebody edits the page. Glad I was able to help.   — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 20:13, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Thank you very, very much, Malik! It is really kind of you! Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 20:23, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Comedians of Middle East conflict

Hi Mbz1! I just got some time to look at your article. I am concerned that the title is inappropriate for this article. What is the article's focus? If it's about comedians who make jokes about the conflict, then shouldn't the title be closer to "Middle East conflict comedians" or "Conflict comedians in the Middle East"? Moreover, the article's focus seems to be specifically about the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. If that's the focus, then it should definitely be renamed. What was the intention with this article? DYK for Israeli animal spy conspiracy theories

HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:27, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

There was this one Seinfeld episode...

Jerry explains to George, that to be truly funny, you have to make one joke and then let it lie. Not repeat it or go deeper on it. George applies the lesson and gets promoted at his workplace, while all his colleagues get fired. BTW, I never learned that lesson.  :-)

I guess the "hava nagila, drink a pina collada" was too rough. See it caused you to nuke your talk page.  :-(

Hello!

Well, I'm in some kind of retirement too but still it was sad to find out that you retired as well. It is sad that wikipedia is so successful and yet many times evaluate contributors in such a wrong way. But I believe that it will not pass unnoticed much longer, and that eventually Wikipedia will have to change itself or disappear. I find the arbitrary committee elections results to be somewhat encouraging (though not perfectly so). I hope you enjoy this video from the Israeli TV.--Gilisa (talk) 12:45, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Good video, surprisingly there are many people, who neither know the history of Middle East nor are able to understand the situation there. In 1948 Robert Kennedy wrote:
The die has long since been cast; the fight will take place. The Jews with their backs to the sea, fighting for their very homes, with 101 percent morale, will accept no compromise. On the other hand, the Arabs say: "We shall bring Moslem brigades from Pakistan, we shall lead a religious crusade for all loyal followers of Mohammed, we shall crush forever the invader. Whether it takes three months, three years, or 30, we will carry on the fight. Palestine will be Arab. We shall accept no compromise.
Nothing has changed ever since: The Jews with their backs to the sea, fighting for their very homes" and the Arabs say: "Whether it takes three months, three years, or 30, we will carry on the fight. Palestine will be Arab". Broccolo (talk) 06:28, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Did you know that there is no weak P in Arab language? In fact, if I'm not wrong there is not even strong P in Arab language. The term Palestine was coined by the Romans after yet another colossal crime they committed in 135 CE when they destroyed the Jewish civilization in Israel. Then, between 2 to 3.5 million Jews lived in Israel-making it one of the most populated countries on earth then. Arabs were still in the deserts of the Arab peninsula -they spreaded out of it to the entire Levant region and to north Africa only after 700 CE and after the Islam was formed. No one knew any Palestinian people prior to 1930, and I'm being too generous here. The official definition of the Arabs who been in Israel in May 1948 as "Palestinians" was made in 1964 by PLO leader Yasser Arafat if I'm not wrong. These are all historical facts, but sometimes facts are not more credited than spivvy consensus or "RS" in Wikipedia. There are many good and many bad people editing in Wikipedia, as in the real world-but that's not the problem, the problem is that the very fundamentals of Wikipedia as system made it incapable of dealing with politically contentious issues in an analytic and unbiased manner. So far the "best" Wikipedia could offer was the intervention of some admins who made you wonder how come they were elected to their positions (not all of them were that bad, but some did).--Gilisa (talk) 09:27, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
As a matter of fact I think that you are mistaking. There were Palestinian people before 1930, except the only people who called themselves Palestinians were the local Jews. Even The Jerusalem Post used to be The Palestine Post starting from its establishment in 1932 and up to 1950. Arabs started calling themselves Palestinians somewhere in 1960s.--Broccolo (talk) 18:33, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Typo error in archive

Hello! You might want to fix a typo error at User talk:Mbz1/a7#Blocked: "I've learned my lesson and never edit ear again." The bolded letter should be changed to "w". HeyMid (contribs) 17:11, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Remember?

Hi Mbz1, remember how you were unfairly indefinitely blocked about a month ago, and one of the "crimes" you were charged with was filing AE concerning User:Supreme Deliciousness? Remember how administrator Jehochman closed the request because you were blocked? Remember how then he came to your talk page and supported your indefinite block? Well, you would never guess what happened, but less than a month later this SPA/POV pushing account User:Supreme Deliciousness is blocked for 24 hours and topic-banned for 2 months!

I really do not believe you should have retired because of trolls and hounds, who are trying to get you. There are only very few of them. Think about the readers, who enjoy your articles and your pictures. This article you started, and supplied with the images you took was was read by almost 20,000 readers in DYK day. This article you started, and supplied with the images you took was was read by more than 25,000 readers in DYK day. Think about the Wikipedia's readers, and come back. Remember sooner or later the truth and the fairness will prevail.--Broccolo (talk) 22:37, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Blame Israel

Blame Israel can be broken down to (i) reliable sources describing acts of blaming Israel and (ii) reliable sources describing the topic "blame Israel." This was the same issue in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Baby Jesus theft. The current Blame Israel article takes the first approach, which is causing the OR trouble. If you look at the source table here, you can see a division between the two approaches used by the reliable cources. I also created a column "Article Title cont." that allows you to sort the news article titles to see what Israel in fact is being blamed for and to make it easier to locate reliable sources describing the topic "blame Israel." If you so desire, please copy the source table here to a sub page in your user space to aid you in developing the article. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 18:33, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Uzma, what an incredible job you have done! I'd like to ask you please to develop the article as you believe it should be developed yourself. You will do it much better than I ever will be able to do it myself. Thank you for your help and your time!--Mbz1 (talk) 18:53, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Clare Solomon

Hi there. You just added this article to Category:Antisemitism ([1]); I have reverted your edit. While that category states that being included in it does not necessarily indicate that the subject is antisemitic, I nonetheless think it is one which should be used with extreme caution on living people, under WP:BLP policy. It should only be used where there is a clear, strong and uncontroversial association between the subject and antisemitism, and where it is a significant part of that person's life; anything less would arguably not be justified. It shouldn't be used just where someone has alleged that the subject made antisemitic comments. (The same goes for similar categories like Category:Homophobia.) I don't think it was appropriate here. Robofish (talk) 23:35, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Well, I will not re-add the category, because in general I try avoid touching anything concerning antisemites (they are way too dirty to touch), but I believe you are wrong. There are living "persons" in that category. For example Libby Davies or that one Farouk Hosny. I have neither time nor a wish to look for more, but there are more. --Mbz1 (talk) 23:41, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Israeli animal spy conspiracy theories. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Editors violating the rule will usually be blocked for 24 hours for a first incident.
  3. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording, and content that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Demiurge1000 (talk) 20:43, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Well one would have thought that, if the user was politely asked to stay off my talk page and do not template the regulars, the user would have understood and stay off, but that user apparently does not. That user likes to wikihound me and to put his long nose in the matter that is no concern of his.--Mbz1 (talk) 20:59, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

AN/I notification

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. AndyTheGrump (talk) 20:49, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Well, Thanks for notification. I am banned for contributing to AN/I, but I hope that somebody will be able to follow the talk page discussion, and if he/she is not a subscriber of the Wall Street Journal will go to Google's search and type "the debasement of the Arab mind" exactly as I did with quotes, click at the very first link (at least it was first a minute ago, when I did it), and read the whole article.--Mbz1 (talk) 21:07, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Actually here is the link to the search result with the first link:Stephens: Egypt's Prison of Hate - WSJ.com Jan 4, 2011 ... But the ultimate source of Arab backwardness, unmentioned by most of these studies, lies in the debasement of the Arab mind. --Mbz1 (talk) 21:10, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Holy shit, did you really just say that?!?! Go away. I can't think of anything else to say in the face of such blatant racism, go away and don't come back. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:44, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Apparently I spoke without being in full possession of the facts, although it is also worth noting that the initial; remark has now been lightly refactored to make it more obvious that it was a quote. Beeblebrox (talk) 04:15, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I did make the quote in italic, but I did not change any single letter in the quote, and I have never ever ever used the word "degenerate" that you claimed I did.
But that's OK. I consider this issue to be resolved.
Yet there's another one, as I informed you at your talk page last night. About half an hour later after you stricken out your extremely unfair accusation you made about me at my talk page, you went to AN/I and made this post about me. I explained to you that it is not true representation of what made me banned from posting to AN/I, and asked you to strike your post out. You refused, and simply deleted my post from your talk page.
So let's sum, Beeblebrox.
  • You came to my talk page and made a very harsh and a very unfair accusation that literally took my breath away. It took for you around 5 hours!!! to strike it out although you were active during that time.
  • 30 minutes after you at last stricken it out, you made an extremely dishonest post about me on AN/I,the post that hurts my reputation, and refused to strike it out with no explanations why. You made your dishonest AN/I post knowing quite well that I am not allowed to respond to you there.
What did I say? If you mean the quote from The Wall Street Journal taken from Google search I provided above for an easier finding of the article. It is a quote from the Wall Street Journal.See here the very first link I even have not read, simply copied and pasted--Mbz1 (talk) 21:50, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
I have evaluated the matter, and what happened here is pretty clear. The Wall Street Journal was patently not your source, since when you placed the content you cited The Washington Post: [2]. This is the foundational edit of the article, so there is no doubt where you got the text. The plagiarism problem was created when, in cleanup, User:Qrsdogg removed the quotation marks, here. The contributors who removed the content as plagiarism were quite right to do so; the material at that point was no longer handled properly under WP:NFC and WP:Plagiarism. The proper response to such removal, however, is to fix the problem, which could have been done either by putting the quotation marks back (with attribution) or by paraphrasing. It is confusing, to say the least, that you chose to edit war over restoring it, insisting that it was not taken from The Washington Post. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:04, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much, but I cannot understand why we are still talking about Washington post, if 4 edits ago I linked it directly to the Wall Street Journal, and those were reverted as copy rights vioaltins. Regards.--Mbz1 (talk) 22:09, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I'm watching your talk page; I like to keep conversations in one piece. We're still talking about it because you're still using their words (even in your last edit here). Let me see if I can explain this more clearly.

You copied the sentence from The Washington Post. That much is obvious--it includes not only the words that were used in The Wall Street Journal but the words that the Post used writing about it. When you created the content, you cited it properly and enclosed it in quotation marks. The only thing lacking was attribution in the text. Generally, when quoting, it's good to name your source in the article, such as:

The Washington Post reports that....

While the sentence you copied from The Washington Post does include some of the language from The Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Journal does not include all of the language from The Washington Post, or all of the language you placed in the article. That bit about "pointed to the Mossad shark and other Arab conspiracy theories as an example of" belongs to The Washington Post. Plagiarism issues, and issues with non-free content, enter when you copy content from a copyrighted source (The Washington Post) without proper annotation. Again, you did it properly at first. The problems enter in when credit is omitted to The Washington Post, even if The Wall Street Journal does include part of the same text. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:13, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Ah I see now. I thought that the problem is with the quote from the Wall Street Journal itself because the user kept reverting the entire piece instead of just fixing some language. Thanks it was kind of you to clear the fog up. May I please ask you to mark the threads about me on AN/I and edit warring as resolved? Regards.--Mbz1 (talk) 22:20, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
I've marked the one at WP:ANI as resolved. The one at WP:EW I would prefer to leave for another admin, since unfortunately your actions are not among the exceptions that permit reverting. :/ You can go beyond the usual revert allowances to remove copyright problems, but you cannot do so to restore material that you think was improperly removed as a copyright problem. I do not regularly work at WP:EW, and I trust that the admin who handles it will evaluate all factors in deciding the best approach. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:25, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much. You are a good administrator!--Mbz1 (talk) 22:27, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
I'm glad if I was able to help. :) Just remember, please, that there are only a few exceptions to 3RR. If you aren't 100% sure that what you're reverting is among them, it's way better to let the content stand for a while and discuss it thoroughly than risk crossing the line. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:41, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Yes, you are absolutely right, Moonriddengirl. Thank you for the advise.--Mbz1 (talk) 13:10, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

"A racist?"

Today there were some misunderstanding with the copyright on the quote from the Wall Street Journal I used in an article.
The matter was brought up to AN/I
I believed a copyright violation they talked about was concerning the quote from the Wall Street Journal. To read Wall Street Journal one is required to have a subscription, so I could not provide direct link to the article. Instead I explained how to get to the article from the Google search because only then one could really read the whole article with no subscription. In my post I provided the exact quote from the article to be used in Google search. I did it not to make any point, but only to explain how to find the article.
After that user:Beeblebrox called me "racist" in his post and his edit summary. After I questioned him on his talk page why he called me a racist, he implied that I said something like that. I even do not want to repeat at my talk page those words that he said I said . Then I realized he was talking about the word "debasement".
English is not my first language. As I initially understood the word "debasement" I saw nothing really bad there. I did not look it up in a dictionary because there's a similar word in my mother tongue and it has nothing to do with "degenerate", but because user:Beeblebrox said it does, I removed the entire quote from the article.
I still cannot understand what did I do to deserve to be called a "racist". If I were an administrator, and somebody would have said something even remotely similar to what user:Beeblebrox said I did, I would have blocked that somebody at once. On the other hand, if I would have said to an innocent person something like user:Beeblebrox said to me I would have apologized as soon as I understood I was wrong.
So, here's the deal. Honestly I still cannot understand the exact meaning of the quote but if the community believes that what I quoted from the Wall Street Journal was even remotely similar to a racist attack towards Arabs, please do block me with all the harshness any racist deserves to be blocked with, and I mean it. I should have looked the meaning of the word "debasement" in the dictionary, and I did not, although I cannot understand why so many other users, who read the article did not point it out to me that the quote could have been read as a racist.
On the other hand, if that quote was not a racist remark, I'd like my name be cleared please.
In any case adding this quote was not a bad faith edit, and I have not been, I am not, and I would never be a racist, but once again, if I posted something that even remotely could be considered racist, even considering this was a quote from The Wall Street Journal, a publisher I respect, I do deserve to be blocked, and I do mean it. My problems with English cannot be my defense for such a serious accusation. Thanks. --Mbz1 (talk) 00:40, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Eustace Mullins

...is an article that might benefit from your presence if you can stomach it. Jayjg recently described it as "a soapbox for Mullins's views" and having just read through it I think he's right. The article history also appears to contain a number of editors/IPs whose contributions might benefit from your attention, editors who seem intent of filling Wikipedia with the views of antisemites and conspiracy theorists far as I can tell. Here is The Anti-Defamation League's article about Mullins, which isn't mentioned at all in the wiki article, and here's an article in The Atlantic. Dear Mbz1,

My name is Anna Kauffeldt and I’m sending you this email to confirm that the picture ‘Rain ot ocean beach.jpg’ uploaded on Wikimedia Commons is your own work and that I am free to use it. I would also like to take this opportunity to ask how you would like me to attribute the picture. Picture to be found at: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rain_ot_ocean_beach.jpg

Best regards, Anna

Kindly send your response to: anna.kauffeldt at geo.uu. se —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.238.140.172 (talk) 17:13, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Dear Anna, thanks for your message. The picture in question was taken by me, and I grant you permission to use it as you wish as long as it is not going to be used for any kind of propaganda including, but not limited to propaganda of violence, racism, religious, atheism and so on. I do not care about the credit. No credit at all is fine. Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 17:50, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Hi Mbz1. The picture referenced by the above-noted link is breathtaking as are all of your photos. But I must admit to being somewhat puzzled. Why do you not care about getting credit for such amazing work? If it were me, I would most certainly want to be the photographer associated with such beautiful imagery. Best,--Jiujitsuguy (talk) 15:51, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for commenting on my images, Jiujitsuguy. A few years ago I was filming hummingbirds in Golden Gate Park. A couple, who visited from the East coast, approached me with some questions. We introduced to each other, and they said: "Oh, you are the same person, whose pictures of hummingbirds we saw in Birds and Blooms"? Then I realized that I am getting a little bit more famous :-) than I have ever wanted to be. There were some other situations like this one. That's why more than a year ago I stopped adding my name to the pictures I upload to wikipedia. Now there is simply my user name. It is just the way I am. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 16:27, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Language question

You wouldn't happen to be able to read Russian, would you? I wrote an article about someone who also has an article on the Russian Wikipedia and I was curious how the tone/POV of the two articles compare. Qrsdogg (talk) 04:07, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

I could read Russian. If you give me the links to both articles I'll be happy to take a look. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 05:18, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
The article in question is Viktor Petrik [3]. I wrote it a while back and a few of his fans have complained about it since then. There are some English sources available, but I was more curious than anything else to hear how he is portrayed by the Ru-Wiki users citing the Russian news reports. Qrsdogg (talk) 13:18, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Well, I am not sure what they are complaining about. The article about him in Russian wikipedia describes many more negative sides of his so called inventions and himself. For example, your article says that only Eduard Kruglyakov calls Petrik's inventions "pseudoscience" , but Russian article says there was a commission of experts that examined Petrik's work, and came to conclusion that those do not belong to science but rather to business and inventions. Maybe add to your article that in May of 2010 he won an arbitration that he filed against few newspapers. The newspapers were ordered to pay him 200,000 rubles and to publish refutations to their earlier articles about him. He is not happy about the decision because he asked for more than 21 millions rubles. Newspapers on the other hand say the articles about Petrik were correct, and they are not going to publish refutations. Petrik also filed a few lawsuits. One of them is concerning media, and the other concerning a few academics. Looks like those lawsuits are still in the progress. I hope I answered your question, but if you have some more, I'll be happy to help you those.--Mbz1 (talk) 15:29, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for checking that out for me, I tried looking over it in Google translate but ended up more confused than anything. I'll try to add a few more sources sooner or later though. Makes me wonder why the English page is getting targeted when the Russian one is more negative, though. Oh well, thanks. I'll be sure to check out your philosophy article. FYI

This is the drawing that infuriated Saddam Hussein, and threatened to shut down the exhibition and to kill Ali Farzat. I would've loved to include it but it's not free. I've contacted Ali Farzat about it, and have yet to receive a reply. Best. Yazan (talk) 03:14, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

But maybe you could explain in your own words the drawing, and add the link to this article as a reference because right now your hook is supported only by an offline source. IMO no extra reliable sources could harm the article. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 03:18, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Just did. Although offline sources are no less reliable, that's why we have AGF ;) Thanks again. Yazan (talk) 03:36, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Good! If I may, I would also recommend to contact the cartoonist and to ask him to release the cartoon with a free license. He might agree. After all, it is a good advertisement for his work. If he agrees, I could explain to you how to proceed and upload it to Commons. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 03:44, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
I already did (see my first comment), I have yet to receive a reply from him, once I do I'll contact you. Thanks again. Yazan (talk) 03:49, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I see it now. I guess I am tired :( So, sounds good, if he agrees, I'll be happy to explain to you what email he should send to permissions. Best.--Mbz1 (talk) 03:54, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Re: Question

You've got mail. Graham87 15:26, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you! I responded your email, and asked another question. Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 15:42, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm, see my recent post to Phil's talk page. I'd just sent an email saying the same thing, but then I realised that there's no need to be so private this time. :-) Graham87 08:25, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Ayin (Kabbalah)

Hello! Your submission of Ayin (Kabbalah) at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Demiurge1000 (talk) 06:10, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Really, you want to bicker about time lines?

Honestly, you want to bicker about the time line???? Then read what I wrote: Seeing the edit, I check both sites (the article talk page and ANI) AGAIN before reverting---nothing from Mbz. So I revert. AFTER the last time I load this page, he makes a short edit citing Sean Hannity I had read the pages JUST before your edit and then EXPLICITLY checked to see if there was something I missed. I think that pretty clearly explains why I didn't see your post---because at the time I loaded the page, you hadn't made it---to which you now declare "means that you did not pay attention to my post at th talk page". No, I didn't see your post on the talk page because you didn't post to the talk page before making your edit on the article with the summary of "Added info"; and your edit to the talk page wasn't added until after I had loaded the talk page---1-2 minutes isn't much time. There are more important things than bickering about time lines and assumptions of bad faith. (And no, when I explained the time line to TE, it was not because you had done anything wrong. You could have done it better by linking the 3RR discussion/rationale before your edit, but you hadn't done anything wrong.)---Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 08:08, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Materialscientist (talk) 12:03, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

This is awkward:ANI ban?

I got sent something that is either an elaborate prank or a very serious accusation against you. I'm not entirely sure why I was given it beyond having my email activated and editing in the I-P area. After much thought, I've decided somethings got to be done with it. If it's fake then I'm getting used, you are getting secretly smeared, and your name needs to be publicly cleared. If it's real, it is grim. I think you are currently banned from ANI and I'm not interested in a Star Court proceeding in which you can't participate. Is there some admin who this could be negotiated with? The nature of the charge is meatpuppetry, I can give you and whatever admin gets involved the material so this isn't some kangaroo court deal. If this is a hoax that's come up before and I'm being mislead, please let me know as I'd rather avoid what I'm sure will be a huge headache. Sol (talk) 17:46, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Well, before you are to proceed you may want to read this one. If somebody contacted you anonymously on that matter, and you are to proceed with this IMO it would make you a co-conspirator of the crime that was committed against me by hacking my email accounts, and then sending me an intimidating email that looked as it was sent by a member of Arbitration Committee, that of course was never sent by him. If somebody would have contacted me with any information or disinformation for that matter obtained in such a way as hacking somebody email accounts, I would have never acted on such a thing. It is way too dirty, and too illegal to touch. Everything else is up to you. I have nothing to hide. Also because I reported the crime, you are obligated to reveal any information about the hacker that you poses, like the email address he/she used to contact you, and the user name of Wikipedia account that was used for the initial contacting you via Wikipedia email services. Regards.--Mbz1 (talk) 18:07, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Sol is not legally obligated to do anything, unless Sol receives a request from law enforcement or a court. Unfortunately, from past experience, I can say it is very unlikely that the report to IC3 will produce any action at all. Incidentally, there's currently a discussion at User talk:Jimbo Wales about some similar topics. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 19:14, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Listen Demiurge1000, haven't I asked you quite a few times to stay off my talk page? If somebody told me only once to stay off his/her talk page, I would have never posted there again ever. Your trolling lead to me being unfairly blocked last time. Would you kindly leave me alone, and remove my talk page from your watch list. I am not interested in any inputs from you whatsoever. Please do not make me to ask an admin for a restraining order.
Sol, what I meant, when I said "you are obligated to reveal any information about the hacker that you poses" was that you are morally obligated to do it. I meant that this matter is not about my name that needs to be publicly cleared, it is about your name that needs to stay good. Having said this I could only repeat what I said earlier, it is entirely up to you to act or not to act on information disinformation that was obtained cowardly and illegally. --Mbz1 (talk) 19:42, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
I just remembered one more episode of this affair. In a few weeks after the hacker was discovered, and of course my password was changed, I got an email from alleged email provider that advised me to email them my password in order to protect my account from viruses :-) This email made me to realize that whoever hacked my account, is not just a criminal, but a very stupid criminal indeed. I also believe that because hacking of my email account directly connected to my occasional editing in I/P conflict area, IC3 could become interested in solving the case. After all, what would prevent, a criminal, who hacked my account to get involved in other illegal activities that could be even more sinister than the ones I described above.--Mbz1 (talk) 23:01, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Whoa nelly. I don't think this has anything to do with your email or a hacker. The sender claims these are messages they received from you and their replies. I figured this might have been something already dealt with and maybe a hoax but if so it's one that someone put a lot of effort into. It sounds like you are talking about something else and the material matches on wiki activity so I guess we will move ahead. If someone hacked your email that is definitely worth investigating and if this ends up being related I'm happy to help. User:Sol Goldstone|Sol]] (talk) 20:20, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Sol, why are you're getting so nervous that you even cannot properly format your signature :-) Just relax, everything is going to be fine. BTW your latest post's style reminded me very much the style of the hacker in the email I got from them about a week ago. No worries, Sol, I have hard evidences that my email accounts were hacked. Besides let be reasonable, if the hacker, who contacted you claims my emails were addressed to them, it means that the hacker should be an established, and probably pro-Israeli, wikipedia user. Are they? What is their user name? I mean, if, as the hacker claims my emails were addressed to them, why to hide behind your back, Sol, why to use you, instead of coming into open themselves? No reasonable person could ever believe that I sent emails to a person I do not know rather well, and then this person is using you instead of pursing the matter themselves. If you understand this, and continue to pursue the matter, it makes you a co-conspirator of a felony. If you do not understand this, and continue to pursue the matter, I am afraid it makes you a "useful idiot" (sorry, could not find a better word with my English, you know). Otherwise I'd like to thank you for your posts at my talk page, and would like to ask you to thank the hacker for me too. Please do tell them that I am having one of a greatest fun of my life :-) On a more serious note, you could provide some extra information about the hacker, for example, what's the user name they used to contact you on Wiki? --Mbz1 (talk) 21:33, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Because they are a banned user. Not that this has stopped them in the past. I'm not really sure what this is or what's going on. I'm not interested in your accusations. If a hacker's writing style reminds you of me, great. I'm not intimdated by threats. I understand federal law, thanks, I don't think you. If you think you have something to take a hacker to court over, great. If you can get a USDA to listen to you even better. I'm interested in turning this over to an admin and butting out ASAP. I can give you what I what I was given and ask an an admin to let you speak at ANI. Email me and I will. If you aren't interested, don't. This isn't my call and I'm not your opponent. If I'm a useful idiot, so be it, but let us see. Sol (talk) 04:48, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
(ec) Sol, I used to enjoy your English as much as I enjoyed English of User:Nishidani and User:G-Dett. What happen? You wrote : "what I what I" and then "an an", and you forgot to sign. It would mess my automatic archiving I am afraid :( I've told you there is no reason to worry whatsoever, just relax. Now, let me see, you are claiming that for some unknown to me reason I forwarded my private emails to an unknown banned user. Is that right? Oh, well...No, Sol, I am not interested in emailing you, besides you know at least 3 of my email addresses that were obtained illegally, and, no, I would not like you to forward me hackers emails, you know there are some attachments involved, and with attachments there are some viruses, and with viruses there are some hackers. So it goes...If you'd like to email me the header of the hacker's email you got, I mean just copy and paste it to the email body, it could be a helpful information in catching the criminal. If you do not know how to get the header, please let me know what email service you use and I will explain it to you. It would be very interesting to find out the user name of the banned user, who contacted you. They are banned already anyway. Nothing worse could happen to them. Please do tell us what is that banned user's user name. Sol, right now you are in a deep [....] up to your shoulders. If you are to proceed with it...you know...I am not interested in you asking an admin to permit me to contribute to AN/I. It is an extremely unfair, and an extremely unwarranted ban, but I happen to love it. Anyway, if you'd really as you said are interested in "turning this over to an admin and butting out ASAP", may I please suggest PhilKnight? He's involved with this anyway, and he's a member of Arbcom. Sol, as I said I had good laugh with all your posts at my talk page, but now I really have to write some more articles. There's nothing else to talk about. Please have a nice day, and please be safe, I mean, if you could, avoid drowning in that [....] you got yourself into.--Mbz1 (talk) 05:35, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
  • Sol -- If you like, forward them to me, along with a statement by you as to your level of knowledge of the sender, and details of any other communication you had with the sender (whether at that email address or another). Or, if you like, forward them to any other sysop or non-sysop who has the appropriate access/tools, or direct connections with those who do. Otherwise, I would suggest to Mbz that you close and delete this thread -- I don't see any positive purpose for it at this point.--Epeefleche (talk) 05:49, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
    • Epee, it is not a good idea. Neither you nor any other sysop or non-sysop knows what Phil does, and I have neither time nor a wish to explain to everybody what I explained to Phil.
    • Sol, btw I just realized you're proxy-editing for a banned user. It is by itself a blockabale offense. :-)
    • Now, Sol I agree with you that IC3, that gets thousands of complains simply cannot act on every one of them, but I believe I have to inform you about additional information I submitted to my initial complain tonight. Here it is:

Complaint Information Internet Crime Complaint Center Complaint ID: xxxxxxxxxxxx Logout

Note: Fields marked with * are required.

That wikipedia user http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sol_Goldstone was contacted by the hacker, and knows at least some extra information about the hacker. Also because the hacking of my email is related to my editing on wikipedia in the area concerning Israeli-Palestinian conflict, that hacker could be connected to something much bigger, much more sinister than just hacking my email. I believe it worth checking.

    • The end of compliant. I would have copied the screen for you, but it would have been a copy right violation.

article

Hi ... can you take a look at the Star of David article? I just worked on a new section of it, but it could use some work. Especially in taking a look at the available pix--I know you have skills far beyond mine in that area. I'm not sure that all the best ones (and there are many) are reflected in the article's gallery. Thanks.--Epeefleche (talk) 23:07, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Epee, I'd be happy to take a look at the article, not sure about my expertise :-), and I'd like to tell you a personal story about the Star of David. In Soviet Union, where I am from, wearing the Star of David was absolutely out of the question, besides there was no a way to buy one. My then boyfriend was a great artist. He was not even a Jew, but by my request he made a really tiny Star of David out of silver. I used to wear this Star of David under my dress. If she were discovered both my boyfriend and me would have been in big troubles. I still have this Star of David.--Mbz1 (talk) 23:33, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
That's fascinating! Including the fact that you have managed to preserve it!- BorisG (talk) 06:11, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Yes, Boris, I knew you'd understand what it means. I do have her, and still wearing her sometimes under my dress because, now, when it is safe to wear her in an open, my husband gets jealous :-), knowing the story about my boyfriend making her for me. My husband, who has never lived in Soviet Union, cannot understand what this Star of David means for me, but you, Boris, you could. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 17:17, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

That was fast! Thanks, Drmies (talk) 05:10, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Sure, nice job on the article! May I please recommend moving it to the special holding area for March 8. This will be a great addition to International Women's Day's DYK hooks. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 05:21, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
YES--that is an excellent idea. Sheesh, how time flies by. Can you add that suggestion? I should really sign off anyway, since tomorrow morning is Early Children's Morning in Casa Drmies. Thanks again! Drmies (talk) 05:49, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
I'd be happy to add this suggestion, and I will do it right now. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 05:52, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

re:Thanks

Thank you for writing the article, Mbz1! Btw, I noticed the fantastic images on your userpage. Have you visited all the places? If so, you must be a lucky person :) Best regards. Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 17:15, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Ha! I missed the header: "A few images I took". Sorry for that :) --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 17:27, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Nothing to be sorry about.Thank you for commenting on my images and the article, Vejvančický. I've been lucky enough to visit all 7 continents at least 2 times each, to cross Arctic and Antarctic Polar circles, to visit one of the most exotic islands in the world like South Georgia Island, Komodo Island; Easter Island;Palau; Madagascar; La Digue and others. We used a helicopter to land at Iceberg B15 in Ross Sea sorry for a bad quality image; I did cage diving with great white sharks, and snorkeled with whale sharks in Indian Ocean and so on, and so on.
You asked, if February 22 is a special date for me. It is the date of my father birthday, and it is the date of his death. He was born and died at the same day.
Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 17:37, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Mbz, you must be the world's most interesting person. If I wasn't carrying Moonriddengirl's child already, I'd ask for yours. And we have something in common: today happens to be a beautiful day, and for the first time this year I am riding my father's motorcycle to work--he died last year, and he would have enjoyed a ride today. All the best, Drmies (talk) 17:51, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
I wish you to keep a good memory of your father ... Last year I lost a dear person and every day I realize more and more how poor my memory is .. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 17:56, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, both, for sharing your memories with me! I have a good memory of my father, and I see him in my dreams almost every night.
Drmies, I'm afraid I am not the world's most interesting person, my husband is the one :-) We have traveled together, and while I was taking pictures, he was taken videos, for example, this one, where a Komodo Dragon File:Komodo dragons video.wmv.OGG run after us, or this funny one from Antarctica. BTW, Drmies, thank you for you help with Buridan's bridge.
Best wishes to both of you.--Mbz1 (talk) 18:19, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

FYI: Question for you at Jimbo's talk page

You are invited to join the discussion at User talk:Jimbo Wales#Hacking of my email accounts (for the record only). Demiurge1000 (talk) 18:10, 23 February 2011 (UTC) (Using {{pls}})

Let me see, after I asked you quite a few times to stay off my talk page, and to stop wikihounding me, you came here once again to ask me, if I do not mind your trolling on behalf of the hacker, the impersonator, and the banned user, and in the process of doing so outing something that you consider to be my private emails stolen from my hacked email account? What response you'd expect me to give to such questions, except the one that was already given by a member of arbcom, who has much more knowledge on the subject than all trolls, hackers and impersonators combined. Well, if you are still looking for my response, here it is: one user, who engaged in such kind of activities in the past has quit. Are you going to be the next one to quit? If so, I would not mind :-)--Mbz1 (talk) 20:47, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
What a curious response. Jimbo suggested that you and I both send all the information we had about this to him and Danese. I don't see how doing so could be considered trolling, outing, or anything similar. Anyway, this seems not the place to discuss it, so I'll not comment further here. If you think of a more considered response, then my talk page, my email, or the link I provided above would all be possible places for it. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 21:24, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
Listen I do know how much clearer I could be. You poses no information that could lead to the catching of the hacker, as the matter of fact you posses no information at all, and I mean it no information at all. I repeat by your proxy-editing on the hacker behalf you help it. The hacker is happy to stay in the shadow of "useful idiots" versus going in the open, and be caught.Enough is enough Please stop it.--Mbz1 (talk) 21:56, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
