Admin
Hi. I just wondered if you'd consider letting me nominate you for adminship, as I think you're experienced enough. Thanks. Epbr123 (talk) 13:14, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Who are you? What are you talking about? What do you want? What is your purpose? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pawn3d (talk • contribs) 00:41, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

CoNom?
Hey Mike, mind if I co-nom'd you for the mop? I thought I'd ask before just going ahead and doing it. --Sharkface217 04:36, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- Done and done. Good luck with the RFA. --Sharkface217 06:14, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
You are now an administrator
Congratulations, I have just closed your RfA as successful and made you an administrator. Take a look at the administrators' how-to guide and the administrators' reading list if you haven't read those already. Also, some have found the practice exercises at the new admin school useful. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Best wishes, WjBscribe 12:57, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Deleted article - Can I retrieve the text I wrote?
Hi Michael, This is Zephyr111 this side and I am new to Wikipedia. I was just testing around, and my apologies that I rushed into writing an article for Wiki, without fully understanding the rules and ramifications, and I understand that the article has no merit being on Wikipedia, since its purely a work of my imagination. I fully agree with the deletion. I was wondering, however, if its possible for me to retieve the text I wrote? I merely want to keep it with me for personal purposes. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zephyr111 (talk • contribs) 02:09, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Congrats, and a present
Congrats Mike on your RFA. I do hope you make us all proud with your new found powers of the mop. As a present of sorts for becoming an Admin, I added you to the SuggestBot list (sends a list of suggested articles to edit based on your past article editing habits) because, like myself, I know you love going out and reading on topics that you have some background knowledge on but would also love to learn much more about. If you wish to remove your name from the list, you can can find a link through my contribs.
Hope all goes well, in Wiki-life as well as in real life. --Sharkface217 04:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Liburnicon article deleted on wiki
Hi Michael. I am new to wikipedia so sorry if I ask too much silly questions. I really tried to read all available articles about "speedy deletion" and I don't know how to improve my article any more. After hours and days of trying my artice was deleted. Can you please help me to improve my article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chaoticgood (talk • contribs) 22:29, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
NASCAR Criticism infobox - removed
Michael, didn't realize those were 'main article' specific. Makes sense. I was shooting simply for consistent look-and-feel. Truthfully, you removed it so quickly, I thought I had made an editing mistake, and so restored it. Seeing your comment, I've again removed that infobox (as you had done). Speedy deletion of Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?
Hello, Michael. I don't recall what the article looked like, but I'll have to strongly object to the deletion of the article on Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?. This is a very significant film from South Korea during the late 1980s when the local film industry was just beginning to become recognized by the international film community. As THIS review mentions, it was one of the first Korean films to become recognized internationally, and in fact was almost synonymous with Korean film at the time. You'll find precious few South Korean films of this era which are available on Region 1 DVD, much less from Image Entertainment, THIS shows that Bodhi-Darma is one. I have several scholarly texts on Korean cinema which make reference to this film. Again, I have no idea what condition the article was-- perhaps very poor-- but, as an editor with strong interests in Korean cinema, I promise that if you'll restore the article, I'll work on it. Regards. Dekkappai (talk) 22:58, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, Mike. Right, that's a pretty skimpy article. Clearly a significant one can be made on the subject though. I'll try to start a decent stub on it later today. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 23:09, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Mark Stevens (Venture Capitalist)
Hi, you recently deleted a biography I created for Mark Stevens. Under the biography criteria, it states "The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in his or her specific field". Mr Stevens donated $22M to USC to help start a new division to the school (http://stevens.usc.edu/). Please reconsider. Thanks.
Amilator (talk) 03:37, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- That's not what contributions mean. Please read it again to make sure you didn't mean the money thing. Many people who are notable did not make money contributions. —BoL 03:41, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- Just because you donate a large sum of money to a university, doesn't mean you are notable enough for an article, it just mean you are rich. E. Philip Saunders donated $13 million for the establishment of the College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology,[1] yet he doesn't have an article. BTW, the USC donation wasn't even mentioned in the article I deleted. --Michael Greiner 03:54, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- Mr. Stevens is currently a partner at one of the most notable venture capital companies, Sequoia Capital. He was also one of the early funders of Pixelworks, BillWorks and MP3.com. Anon IP talk page blanking
I was surprised to see this block request declined, as I've always been of the understanding that blanking IP talk pages was "content removal" vandalism, since: 1.) they belong to the IP, not the specific person removing the content; and 2.) they remove valuable block and warning histories from IP's with a history of unconstructive edits to prevent future editors from easily seeing that they've been warned before. I've seen several IP's get blocked for that before. I know users are obviously able to change or blank their talk pages pretty much at will, but is there a specific policy on blanking IP talk pages that I'm not aware of, or is it just kind of a difference of opinion among different admins? Michael, I'm hoping you can help since you placed a warning previously on this user's talk page. I placed the following on the administrative intervention page about 12 hours ago, but nobody has responded yet. This user has been engaging in disruptive editing practices for the past week on Wing Chun and Wing Tsun, and Jee Shim Weng Chun Kungfu and several other pages. He was previously blocked (on Monday) for these practices. This includes consistently adding WP:OR, and altering references and referenced sections. I have tried to help and compromise by working in some of the material in to a non WP:OR and a WP:NPOV format, yet he continues to revert and push more WP:OR. He has been engaged via the talk pages for those entries as well and has had it explained how he needs verifiable references. He responded with more WP:OR, followed by more reverts on the main pages along with an addition of a link to his personal blog for a reference, as well as references back to wikipedia. The user has also used multiple anonymous IP's. He's engaged in a revert war as well again at Wing Tsun and has started the same at Jee Shim Weng Chun Kungfu. I'm requesting administrator intervention again.
Here is the record for the previous block:
Its 12 hours after the initial request and he's still continuing his disruptive editing across all the pages mentioned, doing everything he was warned not to do after the last block. I'm completely at my wits end trying to keep the disruptions under control. Now he's throwing up edit protect tags as well to try and protect his reverts. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 08:36, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Update - another admin answered. He's now been blocked by admin Can't sleep, clown will eat me. Off to sleep for me......*thud*. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 09:46, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

OK i just wanted to say that it's a true fact i arived at it by adding up the pupulation of every non new york metropolitan county in new jersy calculting the proportion of the population and then factering the value in to arive at the figer, in the conclutions all the facts and statistics are right on wikipeadia. you can do it your self if you look up counties of new jersey add populations of the ones that are not shown as part of the new york area and calculate the proportions.--J intela (talk) 04:36, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- OK maby your right i should try to find a source and maby i was a bit overzelice in trying in making the statistics as ecompasing as possible, but i stil think thoughs two counties are part of the new york area just look at the article--J intela (talk) 04:47, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- perhaps not but at the rate the citties expanding it'ill be less then a decade before their commenly considered cummuter towns i mean poeple are making the trek from philidephia and at the rate the spall is spreading, including office parks and more convetional downtown areas the cummut from thier to morries or essex the the intercontection with the citty becomes alote more pheaseble.--J intela (talk) 04:10, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Clarification on A-Rod page
I'm fine with the current additions from Sporting News & USA Today. I don't dispute the claim in that by most measures A-Rod is one of the most accomplished players in history. But I think you misunderstand the Wiki guidelines on source citation. It's saying if you claim something (like A-Rod reached the 500 HR mark) then you need to be able to back it up with a citation. It's saying if YOU make a claim, the onus is on you to back it up. It's not saying if you can back a claim made ELSEWHERE, that it is appropriate to include. Otherwise, too many nonsensical claims could be included. My main thing was that such a strong and broad statement as saying he's been recognized as one of the greatest players in history should have more than one citation. Not that I disagree with the removal of the content--it was utterly valueless, to say the least--but it looked more to me like some kid trying to contribute...calling it vandalism seems a little BITEy. Just my two cents, anyhow. Gladys J Cortez 03:49, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Archiving SW Talk
The reason for my undoing the initial archive of Southwest Airlines and installing the bot was in response to the fact that I found it wrong not to archive it in its entirety and continue to aggravate those involved in the last topic since it appeared one user had been unable to remove their comments after it was over(not sure why but the point is they did) and another group had tried to move it to its equal conversation earlier on so people could get the whole picture(which by the way could be done by merging the older converstaion down rather than the newer up) and I thought that it was just stubborness call merging for clarity "hiding a conversation" which is absurd as it's not like its some conspiracy conversation that would be worth hiding. So there's my rationale and I attempted to flag the page with the bot for a consensus but it didn't display correctly. Will try it again. I simply think the bot is fairer in terms of archiving since it looks like our human editors are engaging in ridiculous power struggles with everyone who tries to do anything when none of the attempted actions seem like vandalism or that they warrant it. Southwest Airlines edit
The section indicating broad areas of the United States not covered by Southwest is irrelevant. Southwest also doesn't fly to Antarctica, Gabon or the moon, and including areas it doesn't fly to in areas where there is little air traffic anyway due to small populations and little industry or commercial activity is also irrelevant. Instead, if areas where they DO fly is accurate and included the alternate where they DONT fly is obvious. Still, I'm not married to it - you can leave it in there if you are. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.7.132.71 (talk) 05:05, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- That was random (2 weeks after edit). The edit was made based off of your edit comment, "What is the point of looking at a map and pointing out where they DONT fly?" and I did not think you realized how references worked. BTW, I did not write that section.--Michael Greiner 20:25, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Goozex screenshot.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

The Baseball WikiProject Newsletter Issue I – July 2008 | |
This month's newsletter was designed and written by Wizardman, jj137, and Blackngold29. If you would like to contribute to future newsletters, please contact the Baseball WP outreach dept. |
Baseball has a history unlike any other sport. It has been played in countless countries throughout the decades, and it will undoubtedly continue play for many more. On this eve, some the finest players the sport has to offer will take the field at the Yankee Stadium. Four popes spoke there, Pelé scored goals there, "The Greatest [football] Game Ever Played" was battled out there, John Philip Sousa lead a band there, George Costanza worked there; but what do all these events have in common? They fail to reach the level of greatness that the baseball that was played there did. In 1923, a man named Babe Ruth decided to build a new house, and over the years, that house was a home to some of the greatest baseball ever played. If I were to list out all of these great moments, it would be longer than the bill for the New Yankee Stadium. So I'll sum it up by saying that we can remember these great moments by adding them to this place we've gathered at for future generations to read about, to learn about, to dream about; but more importantly we can watch tonight and we can remember how baseball is unlike anything else that we will encounter in our lives. — Blackngold29 |

Hey I know this was a LONG time ago and you probably really don't care, but my page is on your vandal log for this edit. I promise you, it was a good faith edit. I don't like how your vandal log shows up on my page when you click "what links here," especially for a good faith edit that I made when I was new to Wikipedia. Remove it please? Or at least just leave the link cold? Thanks. -Wakamusha (talk) 23:31, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Deletion of Outcome Mapping article
I see you speedily deleted the Outcome Mapping article about a year ago for blatant advertising. I intend to recreate the article. I'm not affiliated to the creators or anyone marketing outcome mapping and I intend to base my article on cited references. If you have any comments, feel free to use my Talk page or answer me here. -- leuce (talk) 17:40, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- I created it, here. Have a look. -- leuce (talk) 19:58, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

An exciting opportunity to get involved!
As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 03:17, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
