DYK for Cartographers (board game)

edit

On 3 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Cartographers (board game), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Cartographers (board game). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Cartographers (board game)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Your hook reached 5,840 views (486.7 per hour), making it one of the most viewed hooks of January 2022 – nice work!

How we will see unregistered users

edit

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Hello!

I'm here because the dramaboards suck and you have had the unlucky honor of being at the top of the recently active admins list.

@TzarN64 (pinging so they can respond) has been.. er, incompetent is not the right word, and I'm not sure how to phrase this in a way that doesn't lead to me being boomeranged for personal attacks, but. I'll just let the diffs-n-links speak for themselves.

[1] - Blanking their talk page and replacing it with insult over, presumably, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Return YouTube Dislike

[2] - "fuck off" and "stop ruining my article"

Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games#Nintendo channel article just isnt needed anymore, Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions/Archive 1142#Its 9 days old now. Should it be merged already - really impatient about a merge even after being told to be patient

User_talk:107.77.192.122#who the fuck are you - pretty self explanatory

Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions/Archive 1143#Can someone upload some files - copyright is apparently not real

I really don't know what to do here, to be honest. casualdejekyll 14:37, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work.

@Duke of Wikipädia: Very little of that edit made sense. Changing 'several decades' to 'sundry decades' and 'The mill stopped operating because of decreased timber rafting' to 'The mill stopped working given to the lower timber rafting' are two examples. Do you honestly think the phrase 'The home of the Breakey's household' is better than 'The residences of the Breakey family'? Mindmatrix 02:10, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Well I must acknowledge that it was indeed a fruitless attempt to bring back some fancy words. Thanks for your reply! Duke of Wikipädia (talk) 02:32, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Unimatrix

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Unimatrix, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
