Date

Could you explain to me how exactly the format is supposed to be written? It's seemed quite inconsistent, first it's "---- onward" now it's "since ----", or is the "since" wording format only supposed to be stated that way in the infoxboxes? • GunMetal Angel 19:54, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Elysium (band)

Hi. I declined to speedy delete the article Elysium (band) only because the discography (which wasn't in the previously deleted version) potentially qualifies the band per WP:BAND. Granted, there are no sources to support the discography, but nonetheless, it would have to go back to AfD. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 15:51, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I nominated that article to AFD; see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elysium (band).--Cannibaloki 16:04, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

That Opeth hiatus announcement

Hi,
I pursued that a little bit more, since I was curious to nail it down. I "spoke" (email) to one of the online concert reviewers who had interviewed the band. She did not hear the hiatus announcement. But she had left the concert early and missed the last few numbers.
She thought that what I told her about the hiatus made sense of some of the remarks from the band member she interviewed.
So, this is just another example of what it's like seeking formal verification of trivial information.

Satan's Children

I see you all over the place on Slayer/metal articles, so I think you'd be best to ask. I'm considering making an article for Slayer's live demo "Satan's Children" but I would like to know if it's notable for an article before making it. You seem to know more about this site then I do, so I'm wondering what you think. KMFDM FAN (talk!) 21:46, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

WP:NALBUMS: "Demos, mixtapes, bootlegs, promo-only, and unreleased albums are in general not notable; however, they may be notable if they have significant independent coverage in reliable sources."--Cannibaloki 01:40, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Well I just learned Satan;s Children is just a popular bootleg, but nothing more So I guess it fails. "It's sort of popular" wouldn't be a good defense in an AfD debate. KMFDM FAN (talk!) 01:26, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

In the Constellation... revert

Hey, I noticed you reverted the addition of a review at In the Constellation of the Black Widow. It seemed like a legitimate review of the album, and I didn't see any spam on the site. Any particular reason you removed it? I think it would be worth keeping, but perhaps there's a good reason not to keep it. (I tried to understand how to use the Talkback feature, but I'm just not getting it, so I'll check back here every so often to see if you replied). MrMoustacheMM (talk) 14:50, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

See WP:SPS; a Spam (see also WP:ELNO #11) in this case: "Although the specific links may be allowed under some circumstances, repeatedly adding links will in most cases result in all of them being removed." That non-notable "website" itself is not a spam, but who added the links is a spammer.--Cannibaloki 15:59, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
That makes sense, now that I see that the website's owner is the one posting the links. Thanks for the info!MrMoustacheMM (talk) 17:00, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey Loki,

Did you ever think about running for admin? Drmies (talk) 01:11, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

No, but why the question? You made me laugh   with your response at "Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Before My End".--Cannibaloki 01:57, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Haha, I did order the CD, and they play on the 12th in my town, a mile or so from my house. I had to laugh where it said they were one of the leading metal bands in Selma, Alabama--that's not saying much, to put it mildly.

Seriously, you've done so much work, some of it fairly bureaucratic and, ahem, tedious, and you seem fairly level-headed. Of course, your taste in music leaves a lot to be desired, but that's not an administrative matter. Think about it. Drmies (talk) 02:42, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Greetings!

Greets Cannibaloki! How are you doin'? I've worked a bit on Decapitated (band) and Cephalic Carnage and I thought about a GA nomination. Decapitated has been copy edited and CephCarn is up to be copyedited soon. The problem is that most of GA nominations are stuck for almost 3 months on the nomination page before being reviewed and I am simply not going to go through that with two extreme metal bands. Would you like to consider reviewing these two? It would be great...--  LYKANTROP  13:37, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Job for a Cowboy edits

Not exactly sure what you mean. The album's genre is widely known (and supported in the article) as death metal, and both articles are albums. Why aren't they considered death metal albums? TheWeakWilled 17:57, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008

Hi, I share your concerns about the sourcing of this article. The RfC referred to on the review page was at the Wikiproject Eurovision, and although it was closed with ESCtoday being determined as reliable no evidence was produced to show this, adn an RfC of this nature does not over-rise the requirements of WP:RS. This is one of the reasons, I failed it last time. Jezhotwells (talk) 04:44, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

While I respect your decision, please keep in mind that some of the concerns have been addressed since then and that I asked Ruhrfishch to give feedback about possible FA status (which has more requirements than Good status). However, if you feel the article does not meet Good status, even though I was willing to continue improving the article once I received some addtional feedback from you, then I will not question your decision. --Another Believer (Talk) 08:01, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Cavalera Conspiracy c/e

Responding to your note of yesterday, I went through the article again this morning and did some copyediting to smooth a few bumps here and there. The material you added improved the article, and I think the whole article coheres and flows nicely. If you disagree with any of my c/e changes, please revert. Finetooth (talk) 16:19, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Looks great, but what I do now? Close the peer review and nominate it for FAC?--Cannibaloki 19:08, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
I try to duck the question of whether somebody "should" nominate an article for FA. One of my reasons for ducking is that although I can proofread anything in English, I'm often not an expert on the content. I'm therefore unable to tell if something will be considered comprehensive, balanced, and accurate by experts in the field. So, so, so, I think you have to go with whatever your experience and instincts tell you. Thus one is already a good article, and you've had quite a bit of feedback. If you have doubts, you might ask yet one more trusted editor to read the thing with fresh eyes and to pick all possible nits. It's less stressful to fix them before FAC than during FAC. Finetooth (talk) 23:02, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Makes sense. Okay, thanks for the big help. I will nominate and see what happen.--Cannibaloki 00:25, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
