NASCAR Did You Know
Hi, I am leaving this message because the edits that I made on the Portal: NASCAR/Did you know a few weeks ago were reverted. The reason that I edited these facts were because several of them were either a) outdated, or b) had almost no relevance to NASCAR whatsoever. I know you said in the message that you left me that they should not be edited, but for facts that are outdated or have nothing to do with NASCAR, is there any way that these can be edited to reflect current or relevant information. Thanks. 173.67.173.109 (talk) 22:37, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) The info on Portal:NASCAR/Did you know reflects the blurbs that were on WP:DYK at the time those articles were featured - it's an archive. Therefore, it needs not to be altered, as it reflects the state of things that was-at-the-time. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:18, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks. 173.67.173.109 (talk) 03:27, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
Need access quickly
Hello,
I work for NASCAR in corporate communications and need access to edit our wikipedia site. Our Chief Operating Officer has tasked me to make full edits and I need to do so quickly as there is outdated information on the site. Please advise on how I can quickly gain access.
Thank you,
Brooke Bunch Manager, Corporate Communications 386-235-1711 bbunch@nascar.com Bunch007 (talk) 21:57, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) The NASCAR page is semi-protected. It looks like your account is more than four days old, so just make a total of ten edits to other pages with the account (which, seeing as you've already made six, means you only need to make four more) and you should be good to go. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 22:34, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Welcome! But please, bear in mind Wikipedia's policy on editing with a conflict of interest before you begin editing. - The Bushranger One ping only 22:53, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Please remove Robin Pemberton and John Darby from other key staff as they no longer work at NASCAR. Thank you.

WP:OPENWHEEL assessment
Hey! Thanks for all your hard work. It's great to see you relatively active here again. Anyway, I'm currently trying to assess all of WP:AOWR and was wondering: would you have any idea why this is being displayed as part of the project? Thanks again, --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 02:29, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Bentvfan54321: Fixed. Apparently the category was linked in one of the talk page threads. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 16:38, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hmm, so apparently it was my own edit that was causing the problem. Anyway, thanks! --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 20:29, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
NASCAR Xfinity Series at Fontana race name
Since you were recently at the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Fontana page, I figured I'd hear your thoughts. Should we move the page to Auto Club 300 (assuming it keeps this name once next week arrives) or even a sponsor name if it gets one by raceweek, or should we permanently keep it at its current name? In its current state, it being the only page with this type of name makes it stick out like a sore thumb. NFLisAwesome (ZappaOMati) 19:22, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
- @ZappaOMati: We should rename it to whatever the race is called on raceday. However, if it does not get a sponsor, we probably should use the current title. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 22:56, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
NWSMT Results references
I was wondering why you want references for the results in the page? It makes it look ugly in my opinion and it's not done in other NASCAR pages. Why is it a problem when the NWSMT page doesn't have references for the results when other NASCAR pages also don't have those references? Vettelisthebest (talk) 4:51, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Vettelisthebest: It's Wikipedia's policy. All the articles should have sources such as 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 16:58, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Nascar1996: But why do you want it in the 2016 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour page when there is no other 2016 article that does these references? Putting in results in Wikipedia without a reference doesn't make the results "untrue". (talk) 18:30, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Vettelisthebest: All articles need it, even the 2016 articles. I made sure that the 2011 article was properly sourced. Everything in Wikipedia must be verifiable. We must prove that the information that we are adding is correct. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont)
- @Nascar1996: You do realize it will take you months (maybe years) to do this in every article of every championship of every race? Since you probably won't be doing it in every article, why would you only do it in the 2016 NWSMT article? I'm not judging, I'm just wondering by the way. It may come across judgy, so I'm telling you I'm wondering it. (talk) 18:18, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Vettelisthebest: My guess is that he probably just stumbled across the page and decided to add it. My 2 cents on the topic: I'm not a fan of adding refs to the results table like at the 2011 Cup Series page, though adding them to the results list (like what I do for 2015 Speed Energy Formula Off-Road season) is at least a little more attractive. NFLisAwesome (ZappaOMati) 18:24, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Vettelisthebest: While I will never do all the articles, it does not hurt by adding them to articles that need them. Consitistency isn't necessarily required when it comes to references. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 20:15, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- @ZappaOMati: You are correct; I stumbled across the page and decided to add a reference. I originally added it to the results list like on 2015 Speed Energy Formula Off-Road season. However, it was reverted and I decided to move it somewhere else to see if it would not be reverted. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 20:15, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Nascar1996: But it looks a lot better when it says "Report" or "Results" or something like that and when you click on it you go to the results instead of just [1] or that with a different number. Or is it just me that that would look better? (talk) 21:05, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Vettelisthebest: Considering that the series is not notable enough to have individual race reports, we cannot do that. I also am unaware of a way to change the number to something else since it uses {{Cite web}}, etc. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 23:18, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- How about we put the reference behind the race number under "No." in "Races"? If you think it's a good idea, I'll do it immediately for the K&N East, K&N West and NWSMT. Vettelisthebest (talk) 13:00, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
- Having two numbers in one column may be confusing for readers. How about after the winning manufacturer or race title? – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 18:54, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Nascar1996: I've added the references after the race title. No confusion for the readers, the references don't have a separate column and it looks pretty good I think. Vettelisthebest (talk) 22:51, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

NASCAR Mexico Series discontinued?
On the NASCAR Mexico Series page you added that the series folded after 2015 and you removed the 2016 NASCAR Mexico Series links from See Also on every other 2016 NASCAR page. I was wondering if you know for sure the Mexico Series has been discontinued. I also have a feeling the series has been discontinued, because they don't do anything anymore on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube and the season often starts in March and the series hasn't even confirmed the 2016 calendar yet. If you don't know for sure the series has been discontinued, I'm going to check a few times a week to see if any updates about the series will be given on for example the NASCAR Mexico Series website. Also it's good to have a reference to the article that states the series has been discontinued. Vettelisthebest (talk) 5:44, 27 March 2016 (UTC)
- I mostly added the date to mark the series' most recent season in the infobox. There hasn't been any news from the series since 2015/early 2016. While the series may come back, I don't believe it will be this year. Last year, Motorsport had this article saying that the future of the Mexico Series was unclear, but NASCAR denied that the series was having problems at the time. It may simply be on hiatus until they can get a series sponsor again. I may contact some media personnel to see if they have heard any news about it. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 05:17, 27 March 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the update, Nascar1996! Vettelisthebest (talk) 7:06, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Nascar1996. NASCAR Heat Evolution, an article you either created or to which you significantly contributed, has been nominated to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page as part of Did you know . You can see the hook and the discussion here. You are welcome to participate! Thank you. APersonBot (talk!) 12:01, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
DYK for NASCAR Heat Evolution
On 26 May 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article NASCAR Heat Evolution, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that NASCAR drivers Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, and Brad Keselowski were hired to assist in developing the video game NASCAR Heat Evolution? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/NASCAR Heat Evolution. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, NASCAR Heat Evolution), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Can you comment on my proposal at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of current NASCAR races (2nd nomination)
On my proposal is not to delete the articles but merge and redirect to the appropriate articles. The reason why I am not able as the nomination as been relisted twice and I don't like wasting my time on an Article in Jeopardy of being deleted. So I waiting for the nomination to finally close before I do it. So I am waiting on a comment from you on my proposal. Sawblade5 (talk to me | my wiki life) 01:31, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

Lagasse article
Hey! So I have information about Scott Lagasse and his team that I know is correct. I was wondering if you could help explain to me why things keep getting changed? I'm not mad, I just want to know why the changes I make are not being kept?
Like I said, I know the information is correct, and I'd like to see this page complete and accurate with the information I can provide. Can you please help me understand his page better, and why edits are not being kept?
Thanks!
