Thanks for your edits
Thanks for your microscopic touch ups on the Spotted lanternfly ! I must say I am always surprised, what drives people onto WP:pages, only a comedian like you could buzz over to this exciting page... I jumped over to your user page and like that your edits are handmade, I looked at your Gone with the wind vandalistic collections and laughed my butt off! I have to say some really good ones are still in the raw - must have been a hard decision which ones to use. keep at it and I hope our paths will cross again. I am not in Chicago though. --Wuerzele (talk) 01:15, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for noticing, Wuerzele, and I hope my edit didn't conflict with any changes you were composing. I got my start on Wikipedia by correcting misspellings, and I've continued to embrace a gnomish approach to things, with occasional forays into more substantial revisions. I'm glad you enjoyed the Vandal's History blog. I expect it to come off of hiatus sometime this year. It is a lot of work to do the sifting, since as you note, there is an abundance of vandalism out there. Thank you for putting in the effort to create new Wiki articles and content. I hope your endeavors in the public health field are not too difficult. As a relative of a PHS veteran, I know it can be a thankless and occasionally bizarre task. Nick Number (talk) 15:18, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
A big thank you!!
Thanks a lot Nick to you and the entire team for all your edits on the article i was struggling with! You guys are the absolute best. - @Admen1: Hello. I'm glad you are now willing to engage in dialog. To address your questions, it might be simplest if you reviewed the Talk page entries which you summarily deleted - [1][2][3][4][5][6]. In summary, adding punctuation where it doesn't belong and blanking Talk pages are not constructive behaviors. If you require assistance in making a more positive contribution to Wikipedia, I'd recommend following the Teahouse link on your Talk page. Nick Number (talk) 18:51, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

- @Admen1: It is true that complete sentences should end in punctuation such as periods. However, entries on disambiguation pages and external links sections are sentence fragments, which do not have punctuation at the end. Nick Number (talk) 19:12, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Mate!
Thanks for going through the whole text - great job. I am a minor contributor with little routine. Still - occasionally - i do get myself to read articles about form, syntax, tagging and so on. I noticed you re-edited the quotes in particular, which had presented in italics....Anyhow - could you be so kind and drop me some links on these issues - i have actually no idea about the form, where and when to use bold and italic text etc.
All the best
Wikirictor (talk) 01:02, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Wikirictor: No problem. Thank you for going through all the hard work to create the article.
- The relevant guidelines are under the Text Formatting page and the Quotations and Block quotations sections of the Wikipedia Manual of Style.
- It is a lot of information to take in, but these are minor points and are easily corrected. Nick Number (talk) 17:24, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

RAK
Hi Nick, This is Rak. Can you tell me, or point me to, the correct way to include the information in "RAK" that you removed?
Thank you.RakDixit (talk) 20:27, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
- @RakDixit: Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. There are a few issues with your edit here.
- Disambiguation pages exist to aid people in finding existing Wikipedia articles. They should not contain external links. An article should be created first.
- Before an article is created about a person, the subject needs to meet notability requirements for biographies.
- If you are Mr. Dixit, Wikipedia guidelines strongly discourage adding information about yourself.
- In short, if your intent is purely to promote Mr. Dixit's business, Wikipedia is not an appropriate place to do so. If Mr. Dixit meets the aforementioned notability guidelines, then someone not directly affiliated with him should create an article, being sure to cite reliable sources, and taking care to avoid promotional language. Nick Number (talk) 20:45, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Nick Number: Thank you for the information, Nick. I'll study the noted sources and get better at this. RakDixit (talk) 22:48, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Keeping Wikipedia Expanding Not Shrinking
Hello User:Nick_Number sorry for disturbing you. The reason I am writing you is we all love Wikipedia and we want it expanding. However there is a discussion going on to delete a notable game article because of biased opinions. I saw that you edited this article: Big_Huggin' and let it stay for further expansion, update and keep growing Wikipedia. But I am also totally agree with you to let articles stay for improvements and expand Wikipedia. So I believe you are a neutral, professional, objective and who believes in expanding Wikipedia not shrinking it type of person. So I would like you to check out this discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/MonsterMMORPG_(2nd_nomination) and make your comment based on references it has. References are here Talk:MonsterMMORPG. Please feel free to delete my message to you after you read it. Thank you very much have a nice day.176.233.41.152 (talk) 14:39, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Caroline Connan
The article Caroline Connan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Clearly fails WP:JOURNALIST.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Edcolins (talk) 20:30, 24 May 2015 (UTC)

Spelling
Good catch on the typo of "Amature" (your fix). However, the typo came from a historical document and, given the context in the article, preserving historical accuracy is more important than fixing minor typos. I reverted the change and surrounded the word with the {{sic}} template so other editors (and typo-fixing bots) will be aware of the need to keep it the way it is.
Again, thanks for being on the lookout for typos. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 16:38, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Davidwr: I strongly disagree. Per WP:QUOTE#Formatting, this falls under "trivial spelling or typographical errors that obviously do not affect the intended meaning". The misspelled word here does not convey any important historical information, and should be silently corrected. The guideline allows retaining misspellings with the {{sic}} tag, but I don't see a compelling reason to do so in this case. Nick Number (talk) 17:00, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
chinese legalism
I am the only real editor for the Chinese Legalism page. If you want the quotes changed you'd either have to or explain it to me, do it yourself, or ask me to remove them. It is unlikely anyone else will do this, possibly for years. Do you mean that I should find better quotes? FourLights (talk) 22:22, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- @FourLights: The issue isn't the quality of the quotes. Per Template:cquote, that tag is meant for
pull quotes, the visually distinctive repetition of text that is already present in the same article. In most cases, this is not appropriate for use in encyclopedia articles.
- In this case, since these are not pull quotes, one step would be to replace the {{cquote}} tags with {{quote}} or {{quote box}}.
- However there's a second issue, which is that block quotations aren't commonly used to stand alone as introductions to sections. It would be better to open with some general statements and then intersperse the quotations to illustrate specific points. Nick Number (talk) 14:40, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
I changed the tag type, but it would be some time before any quotations are integrated in an essay format, given that I am the only one to do it.FourLights (talk) 17:39, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- I've moved the quotations to right-justified quote boxes. I still believe it would be best to change them to blockquotes, with the addition of some context, as was done with the statement "Han Fei wrote, regarding the differing methods of his predecessors," under the Fall section. Nick Number (talk) 20:25, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Absolutely. But I'm not a professional essay-writer, it's taken me a year to get the page where it is. I'd first have to write essays using the text content itself; at the moment most of the content is from second-hand sources; or at least written as such, where the second-hand is myself..FourLights (talk) 23:37, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- As far as essays go, you should review WP:NOTESSAY. If there isn't existing scholarship to support a point then it should probably be omitted. Nick Number (talk) 02:31, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
I usually finds that my statements are backed up by existing scholarship. My statement on Shen-Buhai "reframing the sovereign's role" were semi-theoretical, but I found it backed up by Creel with additional reading. Most of the page was unsourced to begin with.FourLights (talk) 03:48, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
Can you make me a "Part of a Series on" for Chinese Realism? Then I can put it's figures in it.FourLights (talk) 04:53, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I don't know what that means. I'd recommend posting to the Talk page of WikiProject China or WikiProject Philosophy for further assistance. Nick Number (talk) 08:04, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Consolidated conversation with Kaoszulu
Nick number
When you say find a reliable source for nbastreet. Who is more reliable than the person who ea sports came to? Are you a street baller? Did you think that the content was false because you don't know. If true facts can be deleted by people not involved in the creation of items on wiki, than the purpose is defeated. I shouldn't have to be "famous " to be real. I(Simeon KAOS Oyeyemi ) am the real BONAFIDE. AND NICK NUMBER, was never involved in the process. Where you. You shouldn't feel so much pride in keeping people misinformed Wikipedia "everyday" gossip followers. I feel that removing my name and the true background story behind the games creation is a tragedy. Non athletes / video gamers shouldn't control this site when it comes to things they don't know. If Jordan posted something you wouldn't say "well mike , your wrong cause your real names not on the early basketball videogames. BULLS VS LAKERS when they were only licensed to use his jersey number. NBA Kaoszulu (talk) 04:32, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Kaoszulu: Hi. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on identifying reliable sources. Nick Number (talk) 04:53, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
I don't have a problem with reliable sources. I am the source. Not to sound rude. You are a it specialist not a NBA player, scout, or rep. Wikipedia is supposed to be a reliable source. That's why people from those fields should delete and add the content. "What reliable source did you use to prove my ADDED content UNRELIABLE. " and don't say the wikipage was your source. Nor the game booklet. Who did you speak with at EA? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaoszulu (talk • contribs) 05:08, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- I encourage you re-read the guideline I linked to. In particular, the Overview section opens with "Articles should be based on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy." You are clearly enthusiastic about this subject, but as you assert to be directly involved with the game, you would not qualify as a third party. You do not appear to be a published author, and your reputation is impossible to determine from Talk page posts alone. Please see if you can locate some citations which meet the guideline's criteria. Nick Number (talk) 05:18, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Nick number, it seems that you do add content, but also get on here to play games. I only add content for knowledge. There is never a more reliable source than I am. Not every one is willing to attempt and I put their own personal info. They hire guys like you , in the loop, to say "oh I heard..." Dude . I didn't hear, I sat with drj and ea sports personally. Stood for the photo on volume3 . Put my info back. If you can't beat me in basketball, don't hate. Research, talk to doc and mike, Kobe ,garnet, kucoch, pip, Ewing, alomo, halfmanhalfamaz, hotsauce, skip, jerrywest. Talk to these sources before the geek squad. Whoa only info is what we published. Wiki was supposed to be about more than just conventional knowledge. How bout you put Pluto back or something. Or did you delet that planet. Wait, see truths come out and even SCIENCE must adapt. I KAOS AM SIMEON OYEYEMI BONAFIDE OF NBA STREET, WHOPA OF ROCKSTEADY CREW bx raised.
Maybe you should work harder at making this site more user friendly for non programmers. Make that your task. See, if I read threw your posts how would you feel if I deleted your addition when I've never achieve the level of successes you have in your field. Please STAY OFF THE COURT. THANK YOU FOR PLAYING MY GAME, BUT NO THANK YOU FOR SHITTING ON MY PRO LIFE. BASKETBALL STREETHOOP LEGEND.
You were wrong to do what you did. You are wrong for being able to delete because you can't find a published source. That's why this was created. Ok , so I know you couldn't find what I posted. So you couldn't prove yourself wrong. But when you found nothing, that didn't prove that I was telling a lie and adding false content. That proved that ONCE AGAIN WIKIPIDEA WAS THE FIRST ONE WITH NEW ADDED INFO AND CONTENT ON AN EXISTING CONUNDRUM. WIKI SAYS IVERSON LIKE, so I said NO I'm RIGHT HERE. you seem to like keeping assumptions over facts. Wiki shouldn't say "Bonafide is believed to be..." and have that stand over BONAFIDE IS SIMEON OYEYEMI & let real HOOPERS KNOW. Kaoszulu (talk) 04:55, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Made me feel good that I can still program a little <<< but you took that. Just hope I don't end up on your PERSONAL BLOG. THATS FOUL DUDE. Who gave you the right to delete and repost what you feel is funny. See, you all are biased. That's why people dog wiki so much. Say it's full of bullshit. Not creditable. If I logged on under a new ip or tag and sat around... Dude I'm getting off here, but, YOU WERE WRONG. Before someone told you 2+2 was 4 you were just like every other kid who's response was "this many" put my name back. Learn what you didn't know. @nicknumber everyone doesn't get on here for awards and stickers. Some of us real (working making more history) people take prescious time , valuable time out of hecktick schedules to attempt to inform the public of things computer geeks and nerds (I was an EE major so I'm half nerd) will never know till wiki leaks it. Just like that new game cheat or kaaza. I also have a secret character on tony hawk but bet you don't know my skateboard name. It's not good practice to delete everything cause it doesn't suit you. Who is your reliable source. And I'm not talking bout something from 1818. You research stuff and post right. Do you know how many texts through out history have been destroyed or falsified and kept as norm. Religion , race all guidelines for "unreliable" ...dude I had knee surgery for this. I even listed where you could find BONAFIDE playing ball with Jordan. What's more reliable that video footage? A pictures worth a thousand words Nick. IVERSON grew braids because BONAFIDE had them first. BONAFIDE gave Lebron his first head band. BONAFIDE is the And1 logo guy. BONAFIDE is the real boy in LOVE AND BASKETBALL. NOT a wikipro. Not trying to take your edit points. I mean EDIT POINTS. THIS MAKES @wikipedia look like a joke. "That's all right that's ok your gonna work for us some day." I'm a nerd and a jock. I'm the one who busted his ass on the court and then stood up for the geeky kids and graduated high school and college with honors. Who's who in sports. National deans list.
Why do you regulars feel it's important to dictate, then mock people. Which of your articles added to wiki did you really witness or participate in. Why should your stuff stand. If I get on TV as a HEADLINER, will you put it back then? I didn't give sources to a book. The MLA handbook doesn't cover this. Who can prove that dragons and unicorns exist? I posted that I play basketball. Why were you offended. Others had previously edited that page. No one has proven me false.! You didn't discredit me, you blackballed me. With no proof to contradict what I said and proved an IT specialist was able to erase basketball history, that was only supposed to be told by the horses mouth. It's not like I'm trying to say Pluto is not a planet. But in basketball I'm saying "you weren't in the game, and I'm the only one who was who CARES enough to add CORECT CONTENT, ORIGINAL CONTENT, EXPANTED INFORMATION FROM THE SOURCE. CHILL OUT SOME DUDE. IM NOT PUSHING BITCOINS ON NOBODY. IM KEEPING MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS ACCURATE. CELEBRATING MY ACCOLADES.

It makes it hard for me to get work cause people like you are ALREADY BIASED. I'm trying to use wiki as a means of feeding my family. I ball I don't work a desk job then go home and delet content all day. By not being involved in ANY of the processes of the game creation; you were already given a state of bias. You've ended up like that juror who has to be removed, you read the previous wiki post, you played the game until it made you sick. I MADE THE GAME & it makes me sick that you at wiki say IVERSON.
