Speedy deletion nomination of Funke Felix-Adejumo

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Funke Felix-Adejumo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ... discospinster talk 01:38, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Odomero2711,
Since you have a Draft version of this article, I recommend that you submit it to Articles for Creation and have it reviewed. If you can read the review and respond by improving the Draft in the ways the reviewers suggest, it is much less likely that your article will be deleted. Putting articles directly into the main space of the project make it subject to content guidelines that are less forgiving than in Draft space where you can develop your article and improve it.

Proposed deletion of Emily Eriarie Arhagba

edit

The article Emily Eriarie Arhagba has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability per WP:GNG or WP:NBUSINESS. Sources are press releases announcing her appointment, but I can't find significant discussion of it or her in reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 16:56, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Odomero2711, i noticed you are doing wikilink conversion in many articles. While I appreciate your effort, you should not convert each and every instance of a subject in an article, one link per word is usually enough. For example in Gombe, Nigeria there are now eight links to Gombe State of which three are in the lede. This is way too much! Have a look at the corresponding Manual of Style, specifically this section. Thanks Smurftrooper sup? 12:03, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox pages

edit

Please note that user sandbox pages such as User:Odomero2711/Virtue Oboro (Lalemi) are not permitted to be filed in mainspace categories as if they were already finished articles in mainspace. Categories are not allowed to be on the page at all, and may be added only if and when the page is being moved into proper articlespace. And this is not something you're free to disregard or make up your own special rules for yourself, either: it's a mandatory rule that must be followed at all times, and you can be temporarily or permanently blocked from editing Wikipedia at all on disruption grounds if you persist in disobeying it. Again, the page may not be added to categories so long as it remains in your personal userspace, and since I've already had to remove categories from the page three times in the past 20 minutes alone, be advised that there may be consequences if it happens again. ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:50, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proper way to insert images in infoboxes

edit

Hello @Odomero2711. I am @Archer1234. I noticed your recent edit to Okechukwu Amah where you added an image to the infobox. I want to let you know that the way you added the image was not done according to Wikipedia's Manual of Style (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE).

When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used. Simply supplying the file name will work. For example, to use File:Image PlaceHolder.png, you can simply use |image=Image PlaceHolder.png. Captions should be specified with the |caption= parameter. Every infobox is different and the documentation for the infobox in question should be consulted for the proper parameters to match the image and caption.
To fix

Do not use the full image syntax:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead, just supply the name of the image. So, in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg

and optionally:

|caption=Some image caption.

Hopefully you will find this information useful for your future editing. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. — Archer1234 (talk) 14:44, 6 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hello everyone,

I hope this write-up finds you well.

I read with so much dismay the reasons for blocking me and stating that I am a sock puppet for semmy1960.

Below are my submissions about these allegations:

1. I am Odomero2711, a professional librarian with experience in research and publishing, and NOT a sock puppet for semmy1960 as alleged.

2. I created my account on June 10, 2021, during the Wiki Fan Club: The Freshers Trainer at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/Akin_ojonij/Wiki_Fan_Club:_The_Freshers_Trainer_at_Nigerian_Institute_of_Journalism), where semmy1960, others and I were participants in the training. Olaniyan Olushola was the facilitator at that event. So, I don’t understand how creating an account and someone else editing an article makes me a sock puppet.

3. In response to the editor Interactor analyzer, I wish to state that during the fresher’s training, our focus was on Journalism. This made us carry out edits at different times on the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and the provost of the institution (Gbenga Adefaye).

4. Moreso, on the articles on Lagos state government agencies, edits on these agencies were carried out at different times during the project. See the link below: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/Semmy1960/WikiLagos_Nigeria_Ministries_and_parastatals_cleanup. I was one of the participants and Semmy1960 was the project lead. As a project lead, she monitored the edits of participants to ensure they follow Wikipedia guidelines

5. On @Jasper Deng:'s talk page (evidence), I wish to state during the WikiGlam awareness see the link below. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/WikiGlam_Awareness_for_Librarians_in_Lagos_State, On this project, I was the project lead whilst semmy1960 and other editors were blocked on Wikidata during the training because of multiple edits on the same item. I appealed for those blocked accounts to be unblocked but the request was declined.

Following the above submissions, it’s glaring that all activities(edits) were duly carried out by me and not semmy1960. We are different persons, with distinct areas of interest and focus. I understand the rules and guidelines of Wikipedia and its projects and will not violate them.

Thank you. Odomero2711 (talk) 16:04, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

I don't feel that this adequately addresses the information in the SPI. This could be meat puppetry, but either way it's treated the same. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 14:51, 12 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
