Revisions for Cathy Yap-Yang
Hi Omni Flames. Thank you for writing to me.
Regarding this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathy_Yap-Yang
1. I hope we can put Cathy Yang's correct birthday is Feb. 1, 1971 (age is 45) not Feb. 1, 1967. She is not 49 years old. Cathy is a childhood friend of mine from school and requests that her correct birthday and age be posted. Do we need a citation for her correct birthday? She replies here on Twitter at @Cathy__Yang. Thank you so much, Omini Flames. =)
2. I wish to add this sentence and this time with citation.
Currently, she is the Anchor-Managing Editor[1] at ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).

Bukhara and History of Bukhara
I've done a deep revert to when the IP started building up a 2nd history of Bukhara article within the Bukhara article - which grew to the extent that it might have been larger than the actual history article. As an aside, if I ever had time to seriously play video games, a stealth game such as Space Marshals would be my choice. Doug Weller talk 10:06, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Doug Weller: Okay, thank you for that. I agree that the main article isn't the place for such information.
- Oh, and as for Space Marshals, I agree, the stealth genre is definitely one of my favorites . Omni Flames (talk) 11:19, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
Request on 14:31:18, 12 July 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Bill M at Raise
Hi there, thanks for reviewing the Raise Marketplace Inc. submission. I'm working hard to meet the standards and guidelines, so I appreciated your feedback and the resources that you shared. Is it appropriate to ever link to the company's website? If so, what is the most appropriate way?
Also, I've noticed a lot of pages have a table along the right side of the page containing an image and more information about the company. How do I go about creating one of these tables?
This is my first Wiki submission, so I appreciate your patience.
Thanks! Bill M at Raise (talk) 14:31, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Bill! Yes, it's a good idea to link to the company's website. You can do this by creating an "external links" section, and linking to the site with the link text "Official website". As for your second question, those are called infoboxes. In your case, Template:Infobox company may be of use. Omni Flames (talk) 04:17, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
List of Carmen Sandiego characters deletion explanation
To my knowledge, no such character called "Damir Golac" exists in any Carmen Sandiego game. The closest I got to finding such a name was as a character on a fansite, so it seemed suspect. 96.245.86.120 (talk) 04:13, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, okay, thanks for explaining! Omni Flames (talk) 04:18, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- You're welcome. As far as I know, someone snuck one of their fan-characters onto the list and tried to pass it off as fact. It shouldn't be on the list unless there really is such a character in the franchise and I still request its deletion. 96.245.86.120 (talk) 04:22, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
New Testament Christian Churches of America, Inc.
Hello Omni Flames,
All the information about New Testament Christian Churches of America, Inc. by the "Dispatch" is accusations and never proven in any way by any kind of credible resources. NTCC is not a cult but a Undenominational Christian Church. We only preach the Gospel of the Bible. The "Dispatch" was coerced by a former member that wanted to compromise the Biblical Christian Standard upheld by our church. When they failed to cause compromise, they left the organization and published a numerous amount of false information to the "Dispatch". All information from the "Dispatch" needs to be taken off because this is hindering souls from being reached. Of course, i don't know what Religious preference you are, but i respect your preference and would never try to hinder your efforts in reaching a soul. please delete the hinderance that your publication is causing for our church! God Bless & Thank you in advanced.
Sincerely,

Paolo Yrizar
We both prodded Paolo Yrizar within 5 minutes of each other. Should we get rid of one, or merge them, or just leave it alone? Tazerdadog (talk) 03:59, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hah, so we did. I think it's fine leaving them both up, as they both are there for separate reasons. If you feel that one of them should be removed though, go ahead, I'm not against that. Omni Flames (talk) 04:02, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for quality contributions to articles such as Space Marshals and Fried Chicken, for copy-editing on a large scale, for help with a bot and templates, for "has always fully complied with the sanctions", - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
--Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:06, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Well this is something that I didn't expect to see when I checked my talk page. Thank you Gerda, you've just made my day (or what's left of it, anyway)! It's good to know that my work means something. I do try my best. Once again, thanks, I very much appreciate you taking the time to leave this . Omni Flames (talk) 12:28, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- You are very welcome! - I remember "my" day, 2010, and only follow great models trying to find someone to praise every day, - today was easy, thanks to you ;) - I hope you don't mind that the award comes from the "cabal of the outcasts"? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:35, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- "Cabal of the outcasts"? I think the work you do is invaluable to this project . Omni Flames (talk) 12:42, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for the POV ;) - The term was coined in 2013, see my talk archive. Member #1 (photographer - and author - of the Yogo sapphire) left several times, last in 2013. Member #2 (designer of the award) was banned by teh community, #4 (that's me) and #9 were restricted by arbcom for years, #14 vanished, #16 was blocked as a user who returned, #18 retired. But things are moving, #6 was elected arbitrator and made Wikipedian of the Year, and the funny restrictions are no more, so we keep the label more for entertainment. - If you have articles to be reviewed for GA and FA, you can place them on WP:QAIPOST, also ideas, - it's open for everyone. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:10, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll remember that. I'm hoping to get fried chicken up to FA status sometime in the near future, so I'll be sure to consider it. Omni Flames (talk) 00:48, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Re: ANI: I think the new block, now of Bgwhite (not the bot), is a new (sad) topic. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:01, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: Ah, yes. I think that whether or not the block was necessary or not, blocking another administrator over a content dispute, especially when involved, was rather unwise of Pengo. Omni Flames (talk) 08:05, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- What do you expect from someone who blocks a bot? Someone should unblock asap, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:14, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Your closing of discussion of block of BGWhite
Hello. I noticed you closed [[1]], claiming that it is already discussed elsewhere. They're two totally different discussions, though, the new discussion you closed on ANI is about Pengo's block of BGWhite and the other one is a discussion about a block of BG19bot. So I suggest you selfrevert your close... Thomas.W talk 08:17, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Thomas.W: Scroll down. You'll see that the second block is being discussed at the bottom of that thread. Omni Flames (talk) 08:24, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- Update: same thing was discussed above, Bgwhite was already unblocked by Boing! said Zebedee, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:25, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, that's good. I was in the middle of writing a post suggesting that Pengo unblock him immediately when I saw this. Omni Flames (talk) 08:30, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Request on 16:31:15, 14 July 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Cdowns13
OK, so I've submitted my draft 3 times now and waited patiently for months to get this article published. We're a private company selling software solutions to the accounting industry, specifically accounting firms. I have submitted several sources and yet time and time again it's not enough for Wikipedia reviewers. How many sources do I need to provide? Is there a set number, or do you use your discretion? I'm extremely disappointed with the feedback I have received from reviewers including you. Linking me to the software notability guidelines is not helpful. Telling me I need more sources is not helpful, the accounting industry in North America does not do a lot of press for software, it's a pay-to-play industry. What can I do to get my draft to pass a review? I've already provided links to software reviews from several different websites, including from some of the most prominent thought-leaders in the industry. Look at this company for example, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CaseWare_International how is it that they can get published with 4 references, but we can't with 7?
About the formatting of the references: Yeah, I'll fix them when you tell me I have enough of them. Thanks. Cdowns13 (talk) 16:31, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Cdowns13. Thanks for bringing up these concerns. There's no need to get angry, we're all volunteers here, and so we can make mistakes. There is no specific number of sources that are required for an article, we use our discretion depending on the depth of coverage on the reliability of the sources. The relevant guidelines are WP:ORG and WP:GNG. The reason in particular that I declined your draft was that I didn't see a variety of sources which are needed to show notability. You've provided a couple of reviews, but more would be better if at all possible. Omni Flames (talk) 23:09, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
DYK for Platform Panic
On 15 July 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Platform Panic, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in iOS and Android platformer Platform Panic, many of the available skins are references to characters from retro games, such as Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Platform Panic. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Platform Panic), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

- Hi Nepali keto62. I'm afraid I'm currently rather busy and don't have a lot of time on my hands. I'm also already training five students in countervandalism and so I think that taking on another one would be difficult to say the least. However, if they're not too busy, I know that Music1201 is another trainer at the CVUA who would be an excellent mentor for you. Sorry I can't help you any more than that, and happy editing!
