Thank you for looking into my altercation with Stymiee.

I am the editor with whom Stymiee is in a revert war.

In brief, I believe that my edits are well-researched, well-documented and represent a more complete, encyclopedic formulation of the Interchange Fee than Styimee's text.

As to the argument between Stymiee and myself, I believe I have always acted in good faith and in accordance with Wikipedia's stated policies and general spirit. I always leave copious notes as to why I am making the changes to certain pages and have always contacted Stymiee when I have changed the page. Stymiee, conversely, has not acted in good faith. He has broken 3RR, has never left notes on the discussion page, and has never contacted me to discuss the changes I have made or that he wants to see made.

While this case moves forward, you may want to take a look at the Interchange Fee discussion page, at Stymiee's Discussion History page, and at how both Stymiee and I have conducted ourselves throughout this argument.

Though I have left extensive notes on the discussion page, I would like to include a summary here:

My edits are not Vandalism.

My edits do not compromise the integrity of Wikipedia in any way. They are not obscene, crude, humorous, or nonsensical.

My edits allow other to assume good faith about my edits.

I have always taken steps for visitors, administrators and even Stymiee to believe that I act in good faith. I have annotated my changes extensively, left notes for administrators and even reached out to Stymiee on his talk page as well as on this page.

Stymiee has shown himself to act in bad faith in this instance and has a history of being accused of acting in bad faith.

Stymiee has never left notes explaining why he reverts the text (he simply accuses me of spamming). I have never heard back from him on my own talk page, nor has he posted the reason that my edits should be removed. The history in his Discussion page shows that he has been often accused of acting in Bad Faith, and his refusal to talk or negotiate with me (or any other editor), to me, makes the strongest case of all.

The formats are listed in the comments of the "User-reported" section where you added the report. --OnoremDil 16:41, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I can't see them. They are certainly not in the prominent instructions at the top of the page. Johnbod (talk) 16:44, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
They aren't visible on the page itself. You should be able to see the comments when you are editing within the section. --OnoremDil 16:46, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

It was an understandable reaction. From your side, a bot removed the report without comment or explanation. I'd be upset if a person did it, but if I saw bots randomly deleting reports, I'd probably stop leaving them myself. --OnoremDil 12:23, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Message- Long time, no talk

I was just pottering around on Wiki, and suddenly I thought of you. So anyway, how ya going? I hope we can get along now.

Anyway, there is an issue that I have, that has to do with Wikipedia. A user on here had been stalking me and asking some innapprpriate questions. Do you have any ideas of what I could do. I know that user is also from Australia. Could the police here do any thing?

Cheers for now!

I'm just wondering when you are going to respond to my message?

--122.106.78.147 (talk) 10:32, 31 January 2008 (UTC) (formerly 767-249ER)

I'm afraid I really can't answer your question without knowing more of the details. If you're looking for on-wiki resolution, try WP:AN/I, although you'll need to be far more specific with your comments there. If you honestly feel that you are being harassed to the point where you think it might be worth getting the police involved, I'd suggest that you call the police and express your concerns to them. Worst case scenario is that they tell you that they can't help. --OnoremDil 11:45, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Here are some of the facts:

A user on here called J Bar started taking away my edits that were passed by an administrator on here ( J Bar isn't an admin.) He then started to leave threatening and gross messages on my talk page. I messaged him back asking him to stop but it only made things worse, I later notified the Administrator and they warned J Bar. but it still didn't stop. Once again I told the Admin. and she said she would block him temporarly, but he created a sock account and the abuse continues.

I appricate any advice you can give me.

Cheers for now,

People consume crystal meth and alcohol anally, its a rational question and a curiosity so know if people get high off of pot by ways of the rectum. Not a waste of time at all. Rollback

You have been 10 granted with the rollback permission on the basis of your recent effort on dealing with vandalism. The rollback is a revert tool which can lessens the strains that normal javascripts such as twinkle put on the Wikipedia servers. You will find that you will revert faster through the rollback than through the normal reversion tools such as javascripts and the undo feature, because the rollback feature does not require fetching the data from the page history and then sending article data back to the Wikipedia server as the javascript requires, therefore you could save time especially when reverting very large articles such as the George W. Bush page. To use it, simply click the link which should look like [rollback] (which should appear unbolded if you have twinkle installed) on the lastest diff page. The rollback link will also appear on the history page beside the edit summary of the lastest edit. For more information, you may refer to this page, alternatively, you may also find this tutorial on rollback helpful.Yamamoto Ichiro 会話 02:54, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Station Sound User page article impending deletion.

Hi, just wondering, i have looked at comparitable articles which are still on wiki, found a page with nowhere near as much detail, or sources as the Station Sound page Serenity (band)

Just wondering if that page is an act of discretion, and if so, if the same attitude could possibly be shown towards said Station Sound article.

Many thanks, Anthony —Preceding unsigned comment added by Welshceltic (talkcontribs) 11:18, February 18, 2008

Hey, many thanks again for giving me the opportunity to make a copy of the text, and I fully understand the reasons for the article being deleted. Hillary Clinton article

Thank you for your kind words. I'm wondering if you are aware of how SANTIZED the Hillary article is. There is not even a CONTROVERSIES section. Given the COUNTLESS controversies she's been involved in, INCLUDING the latest and totally unnecessary tragedy in Dallas today, I have to question where, if not the talk page of her article, the WOEFUL inadequacies of this article SHOULD be addressed. It seems to me I chose the EXACT proper forum to begin this conversation. For comparison purposes, I encourage you to check out the Wik articles on Karl Rove and Ann Coulter, two private citizens who haven't run for anything, and tell me how you would characterize the LITANY of controversies that routinely fill their articles. Seems just a smidgeon lopsided, no? 69.244.181.184 (talk) 03:00, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Calling my HELPFUL suggestion a 'min-rant' is in violation of Wikipedia policies. It is NOT assuming good faith. It is NOT being nice and it clearly is an insult and cheap shot.

Only it wasn't helpful, and suggesting that the accidents were the fault of the candidates may have even been a WP:BLP violation. After reading the articles about these accidents, the blame would appear to belong to the motorcycle drivers. It's an unfortunate coincidence that both accidents happened during political caravans, but suggesting that the party selects it's candidate based on a drivers test is not helpful, and doesn't belong in the article or on it's talk page. If you're looking for an apology, the best you'll get from me is "I'm sorry if you were offended by my remarks." --OnoremDil 13:26, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Thriller page

With regards to your recent revert/edit on the Thriller page, there IS actually a reference that states Jackson claimed the album sold 104 million copies. The reference is a link to the BBC website who state that "Jackson's people claim it has sold 104 million copies but the Guinness Book of Records states around 65 million". Jackson himself made the claim at the 2006 World Music Awards (a video of which can be found on You Tube, but I didnt think this would be appropriate to link to). Therefore, I think your revert-edit is inappropriate as the information you removed was cited. There has been a problem with edit-warring on the page over the past couple of days (with one user even being blocked for 24 hours) so I felt it was better to discuss this with here rather than engage in further edits. MassassiUK (talk) 17:44, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

One reference says that Jackson's people claim 105. Even if you provide a YouTube link to where he makes the statement, that doesn't justify saying that the number is claimed to be 104 simply because of that statement. Who's to say that he didn't say 104 because that's what his people were told? The way you are trying to present it is definitely not from a neutral point of view. Your way suggests that Jackson's people have intentionally inflated the numbers. You have not provided a source to back this. 6 references say that 104 is the number. One disagrees. Both figures are noted. If you want to provide a link to a reliable source that is specifically about the dispute over the total number, not just a side mention like the BBC note, that would probably be worth discussing on the article's talk page. --OnoremDil 17:53, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Lol he tends to only write on his talk page so if you want to carry on this debate with him its best to check his talk page. I am quite concerned about a message he left on his talk page saying he was going to keep watch of me and my "friends". Is this intimidation, because it sounded threatening. Realist2 (talk) 18:09, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Stop being so overdramatic. I said I was going to keep an eye on your edits (and those of your friends) because you have engaged in edit-warring. You are simply trying to stir up trouble because you received a 24 hour block (and I read the outrageous comments you made trying to wriggle out of that too. MassassiUK (talk) 18:17, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

You are still accusing me of continuing to edit war now , even though ive made 1 edit on the issue, not even to my own edit, but to that of another user. Your saying your going to spy on me and my "friends". This isnt fair. Realist2 (talk) 18:20, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Take a look at the postings of User:Nofanclubwikis. It's the same obsession with this Morales guy. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:40, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Hehe. I was just thinking that myself. --OnoremDil 14:42, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Just thinking, your user page contributes about as much as mine does. You know who this is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rndmthght (talkcontribs)

Actually, other than a few pictures and 3 quotes, my user page has everything to do with making Wikipedia easier for me to edit. They're not even remotely comparable. And while edit count doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things, 25,000+ edits does generally allow for a little leeway on user space. --OnoremDil 16:11, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

get a sense of humor —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rndmthght (talkcontribs)

I don't think there's trouble with my senses. I'm guessing the problem is a lack of humor. --OnoremDil 16:23, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Maybe according to you, but that is entirely open to sepculation. Have you really been online this whole time? Maybe you should get some fresh air instead —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rndmthght (talkcontribs)

Thank you for your concern. I will attempt to make it outside at some point today. The fear will be substantial when I get to the front door, but I'm sure I can make it to the mailbox to collect my junk mail at least.
Again, I'll leave you alone now. Try to focus on contributing to the encyclopedia instead of messing around with other people's user pages and leaving vague threatening sounding messages. --OnoremDil 16:30, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Watch out for mailbox bombs (number 2 cause of death among illegal canadian immigrants) and random lightning strikes —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rndmthght (talkcontribs)

Well, now you've talked me out of it. As an illegal Canadian immigrant who refuses to leave the house without my tinfoil hat, I'd surely be doomed. --OnoremDil 16:35, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Tin foil would be more likely to attract lightning. If you really want to go all out try wire guided missile fired to 100 ft trailing a filament behind it. Use more than one —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rndmthght (talkcontribs)

3rr

Hi i was reported 24 hours ago for an alleged 3rr Here , it hasnt been delt with and i feel im in a limbo waiting to be acquited or punished. Can you look at it and get it out of the way. If ive really breached the rules i would rather start serving my time now or have this burden of alligation lifted. He has provided his alleged evidence and i have provided my defense. Also you know the events that surrounded all this. Yours Realist2 (talk) 19:25, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh sorry i thought you were an admin. Also remember that for it to be a 3rr you actually have to revery 4 times not three. That Eagles thing was so unrelated and UNSOURCED that should be discounted meaning at the VERY most i only commited 3 reverts. Tie that in with no warning being given of the approaching event and no notification of the report. Realist2 (talk) 19:46, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Sure ok, although i dont consider those edits disruptive, you should take a look at they way its written know, its very neutral to both sides of the argument, something that a few days ago was unimaginable on the topic of michael jackson and thriller. Hopefully it will help get the Thriller article up to GA. Realist2 (talk) 19:54, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

User:Mikkalai

Why do you keep protecting User:Mikkalai's page so vigilantly? This guy randomly attacks people with despicable comments out of the blue and begins every fight that he is in by his humiliating comments. Why would anybody side with him? Just wondering... Berg Drop a Line ޗ pls 16:33, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Fair enough :) I was just exacerbated by another one of his edit comments that I read and vented a little... if vandalism control is your goal then you do a fine job ! :) Cheers, Berg Drop a Line ޗ pls 16:41, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

IP edits on Thriller

How was that ip adress allowed to edit the thriller album? its semi protected. Realist2 (talk) 20:03, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Protection expired earlier today. I've removed the tag now. --OnoremDil 20:05, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh I thought it was 2 weeks , never mind, i also thought tags were removed automatically lol. Realist2 (talk) 20:08, 10 March 2008 (UTC) Ah cheers for informing me. Realist2 (talk) 20:33, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting vandalism

You reverted vandalism on my user page almost two months ago. I appreciate it and am sorry I didn't thank you earlier--I finally looked through the history of my user page and saw it. Belated thanks! Wakedream (talk) 07:41, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Mutual reversion

I reversed vandalism to your page, you reversed vandalism to mine. Isn't WP wonderful? ;-)
Thanks! Rien Post (talk) 14:15, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

ZAP Spam

Thanks for fixing my screw-ups with my headers at WP:ANI. I must need a coffee break. Thanks again--Cailil talk 16:39, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Not a problem. It can get messy in there quick with all the traffic and edit conflicts. --OnoremDil 12:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

College

You blocked our IP editing. Please note that our IP is a single outgoing IP from a large community college. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.22.249.3 (talk)

Responded here. I didn't (and can't) block your IP...which should be obvious since you're posting on my talk page. --OnoremDil 12:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps the block had expired? Obuibo Mbstpo (talk) 23:05, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
The only block that IP has seen was for 24 hours in March 2007. --OnoremDil 23:13, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Chuggo

An editor has nominated Chuggo, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chuggo and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:00, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

It's about time... --OnoremDil 21:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Jake Wheatley

The op-ed which you seem to discount is actually in Wheatley's defense and states a fair amount of fact.

In his first race for public office, he took on an incumbent state representative who charged that his felony conviction would bar him from office. That is true and has been printed elsewhere. [4], [5], [6] and here [7].

Nor is his conviction of a felony in doubt.

Nor is the fact that individuals can be barred from office which is a precedent set by the "Commonwealth v. Shaver" ruling in 1842 which has been affirmed in case after case including this case [8] from 2001.

Wheatley himself admitted that the conviction caused him to turn his life around. [9]

This is a guy who has had one contested race for office in which a focal point of the race was this conviction in Michigan. Why don't we discuss rather than have you toss WP:BLP out there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Montco (talkcontribs)

BLP gets thrown out first along with with the questionably sourced material. Discussion comes second. In any case, please read WP:VANDAL and don't revert people with a different POV than you based on that policy. --OnoremDil 00:37, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Well you didn't discuss it with me before or after the deletion. And I am aware of the policy on vandalism; in fact "Uploading or using material on Wikipedia in ways which violate Wikipedia's copyright policies after having been warned is vandalism. Because users may be unaware that the information is copyrighted, or of Wikipedia policies on how such material may and may not be used, such action only becomes vandalism if it continues after the copyrighted nature of the material and relevant policy restricting its use have been communicated to the user." applies here since he was replacing content with Rep. Wheatley's official bio.Montco (talk) 01:52, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Nothing requires me to discuss anything with you, and BLP concerns should be blanked as a precaution prior to discussion anyway. None of your edit summaries mentioned copyvio concerns, and your warnings on Pawatch's talk page didn't make it clear that copyright violation was the justification for reversion. Thanks for making me look into this though. Where exactly was the 3rr notice again? --OnoremDil 01:58, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I guess I see it now...but that's a pretty weak notice for a new user. --OnoremDil 01:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

User Page

I thought i would bring to your attention on Wikipedia User Page policy which states:

  • In general, if you have material that you do not wish for others to edit, or that is otherwise inappropriate for Wikipedia, it should be placed on a personal web site.
  • However, pages in user space still do belong to the community: Other users may edit pages in your user space

and therefore the 'warning' Lookinhere placed on your page is incorrect, plus it contradicts the welcome edit tag above it.--Cahk (talk) 18:49, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

I know it's incorrect. I'm saying it doesn't matter if it's incorrect. The warning has no bite to it, but that doesn't mean it can't be there. --OnoremDil 18:51, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough.--Cahk (talk) 18:53, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Rollback Does it Matter?

Rollback is probably the basis of how editors will be chosen when flagged revision turns up on wikipedia. Unless you don't have the slightest flaw against you, then your going to be able to flag. This is the new caste and its coming maybe not in summer but def by fall.

Rollback is my bete noir, I don't want it and as you say twinkle works mighty better (and safer) but it all feels like them and us. I'm not into "priviledges", I consider myself a good wikipedian, surely thats all that matters. anyway thanks for the interest. Ehsan - BpEps - t@lk 03:09, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

WTH is flagged revision...just work with what you have. --OnoremDil 03:15, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Future Shop

Future Shop Ltd was bought out by Best Buy. Best Buy renamed it Best Buy Canada. The initial plan was o rebrand all the Future Shop stores as Best Buy stores. The decided to continue to run Future Shop stores as a division of Best Buy Canada. Best Buy Canada also opened a number of Best Buy stores. The current plans call for one brands to go after the high end of market while the other one will go after the low end of the market. Future Shop as a corporation no longer exists. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Carltonlogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Carltonlogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:30, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
