- its good to have a talk page of our own name.
A friendly suggestion. There is no need to place your private info. such as your enrollment no. etc on a worldwide public place like the Wikipedia. There is also no need to edit under your real name. Information stays on the internet forever and Who knows how your personal information might get abused. Please pass this message on to your friends who may have started like you recently. Welcome to Wikipedia. Anandbharti (talk) 16:47, 8 September 2011 (UTC) I got your message. If I were you, I would tell your mentor and your teacher/ professor about privacy concerns. Perhaps, internet privacy is not a big concern in India but in other countries one person may steal private information of another to make bogus applications for loans etc. Ask your mentor to give pseudonyms to all of you. As long as they can correlate pseudonyms with real names, you should be OK and your privacy will be protected.Anandbharti (talk) 21:23, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Hello Pankaj, On Wikipedia:Harassment article, Check the section called Posting of personal information. In your case you have voluntarily disclosed your information, however, that can still potentially cause trouble for your edits as you will read in that section. Make sure you point out this article to your mentors and teachers. In my opinion, they have been neglectful in their duties on this issue. I have read that 1000 of Pune engineering College students have opened Wikipedia accounts. You are all adult college students now and free to edit anything you like, however, doing that under your real name is not something that I will advise.Anandbharti (talk) 17:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Welcome!
Hello, Pankaj marghade, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}}
before the question. Indian topics are generally underrepresented on wikipedia and you can help counter this imbalance by becoming a regular contributor and by joining or watchlisting India related discussions. Again, welcome!

License tagging for File:Coep2.jpeg
editThanks for uploading File:Coep2.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:06, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Reply to your query
editHey Pankaj, IRC means Internet Relay Chat. This can be compared to the chat rooms which we use daily. It is used to discuss the articles which we are editing . Unlike on the talk pages , you can have a live chat with other wikipedia editors with whom you have conflicts or any kinda doubts.
For more details , visit [[1]], or search IRC on Wikipedia.

Collaboration of the month | |
WP:INCOTM is a WikiProject where editors from different parts of India choose an article and work on it collaboratively throughout the month. It is a great opportunity to interact with experienced editors from the community and to get the feel of collaboration - one of the reasons and advantages of editing Wikipedia! There's no signing up. All you have to do is just edit the article which is selected as the collaboration of the month (COTM). I welcome you to join the project and contribute in your best possible way! :) The COTM for March 2012 is A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Happy collaborating! BPositive (talk) 15:51, 20 March 2012 (UTC) |
