Ways to improve Harriet's Back in Town

Hi, I'm TCMemoire. PatGallacher, thanks for creating Harriet's Back in Town!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. IMDb is not considered a reliable source; this sitcom needs more references because it does not currently meet the notability guideline.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. TCMemoire (talk) 02:44, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

The idea that Wikipedia will ever be a "petty little short online encyclopedia" is rather amusing given the fact that our featured articles and good articles alone have a breadth and volume of material that swamps most encyclopedias ever published online or in print. bd2412 T 15:05, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Stop stalking me and stop defacing the Mordred article

You are really making yourself a nuisance both to me (by posting "welcome to Wikipedia" templates to my talk page, when I have been an editor here for YEARS) and by edit warring with me on the Mordred article. There is absolutely no reason for you to continue to remove the category "Arthurian characters" from the article and replacing it with "Fictional offspring of incestuous relationships". I really think now - especially after reviewing your own talk page - that you are suffering from a mental disorder and should seek professional help. Meanwhile, stop abusing me and the Mordred page. The purpose of speedy deletion isn't to do an end run around a discussion, but skip discussion where the outcome is entirely obvious. WP:CSD#G6 says it can be used on disambiguation pages that disambig fewer than two pages (so trying to apply it to a page that disambigs two is obviously inapplicable). WP:RFD often keeps Article (disambiguation) redirects to Article because they're useful and unharmful. If you have some compelling reason it needs to be deleted, you could try a discussion, but the outcome might go either way. WilyD 06:15, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

Civility

Hi Pat. Was that you who made the edit about the cause of death of the party we are discussing? If so indeed I regret my incivility in your case, whose edits I generally admire, though I'm surprised that it was you making the edit. This was not a even so much as a breaking news story. It was an 'exclusive', a leak from a report for a coroner's court with all the legal baggage that might carry. It was also an intrusion on the privacy of the party's family. A Murdoch paper, a group responsible for, amongst other things, hacking the telephone of a murdered teenager, might feel comfortable or hardened enough to run the story, but Wikipedia shouldn't be running this kind of sensationalist stuff. At best, if it's really notable, after the event: "Previously the British newspaper The Times had published a leaked version of the report ...".

I did mean to be uncivil to the editor involved here. I do feel comfortable and hardened enough about that and I'm going to carry on regardless because I can't fucking help it (excuse the Brit), sorry. However I'm chastened if it was you that made the edit. You don't strike me a delicate flower, Pat. Coat of Many Colours (talk) 11:22, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Princess Maria of Romania

I de-prodded this; many similar articles have been kept or merged at WP:AfD. Bearian (talk) 17:43, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

For a cast of thousands, see this AfD search. For recent examples, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Princess Leonore, Duchess of Gotland, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chantal, Princess of Hanover, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Monika Princess of Hanover, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eloise Taylor (2nd nomination), and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Princess Maria Adelgunde of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. Some were keep, some merge, no consensus, and even delete - but only after a debate. Bearian (talk) 20:24, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Of the 6 you quote here: 2 are connected with current monarchies and were kept, 1 was connected with a current monarchy and was merged, 2 were connected with deposed monarchies and were deleted, and the last on this list was a complex borderline case. So I suggest the general precedent is to treat members of deposed royal families as not inherently notable. PatGallacher (talk) 21:10, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Afusat Saliu

Hello PatGallacher,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Afusat Saliu for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
