Hey genius
How is saying that a person was scratched before receiving the Eucharist, as was reported/documented rather ubiquitously about the incident, in any way improper. (And trying to cite a non-religious source----the article that I cited actually chalks all the events up to purely natural [tourettes] phenomena, yet you accuse me of citing a religious article Einstein) You libs have totalitarian blood running through your wimpy, shrivelled, little veins. The irony is that half of the critiques allowed to remain on the page are rampant speculation, and yet they are allowed to stay. Also, why is pointing out that one author mentioned in the article is an atheist, improper?
Not a fair bone in your body... Wikipedia editors allow their passions to control their actions in about the same way as chimps or dogs. Being a proper human means allowing your intellect to dominate your passions, not vice versa. This is why Plato says most men live lives fit for beasts. Enjoy trying to fill the God-sized hole in your life with mindless, empty distractions and another 65(or so) years of procrastination, hoarding dust. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.33.31.11 (talk) 03:38, 23 September 2014 (UTC)

- Thanks for the heads-up, LuckyLouie. I think we find ourselves in a WP:ROPE situation here. Warnings seem to have no effect and I see Ian.thomson has now reported the IP at WP:AN3. I'm not a gambling man but there is only one way that this is going to end up. Best, Philg88 ♦talk 05:45, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Rover (yacht)
On 2 October 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rover (yacht), which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the luxury steam yacht Rover was bought unseen by American business tycoon Howard Hughes in 1933? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rover (yacht). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Dr. Sajidas article
Sir,
I am new here. Pls help me how to write this article properly. I want to put an article about Dr. A Sajidas, a notable person, related with renewable energy, green energy, waste management etc. He is also Green Oscar Award winner in 2007 for sustainable energy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maneshbabuk (talk • contribs) 05:33, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Maneshbabuk: Here are some pointers:
- Do not copy material from other websites or I will delete the article as a copyright violation, just like I did the last time.
- You need to establish notability for this individual before they can be considered for inclusion in Wikipedia. This requires significant coverage in independent reliable sources
- Use the articles for creation creation process to allow your submission to be reviewed by an experienced editor.
- If you have any questions you can ask at The Teahouse.
- Good luck! Philg88 ♦talk 06:17, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
Likely Avenger2015 sock
Hi Philg, you recently blocked Avenger2015. I'd brought him to ANI four times because he kept adding duplicate Cast sections to articles in vio of MOS:TV. I believe that IP 98.24.156.14 is the same user evading his block. Here's why: They have several articles in common, the IP is restoring the Cast list piece by piece, first starting with a section and subsection, then slowly adding data: [1][2][3], which is exactly the way Avenger often does it: starting with a section and subsection, then [4][5][6]. Anyhow, any help you can provide would be appreciated, as SPI won't link an IP to a registered user. Thanks! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:41, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Update: I don't think you need to take action.I've had to report the IP to AIV since after my reversion, they started submitting the content again, and then moved onto another one of Avenger's haunts, in these 16 edits. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:34, 28 September 2014 (UTC)- Admin Ronhjones kindly protected some of the articles, but the IP still needs to be dealt with. I got the ol' 'AIV is only for vandals' response, which is frustrating since a person who keeps adding the same unsourced and duplicate crap even after 3 blocks is at SOME point a vandal. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:31, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry for the frustration Cyphoidbomb but there's not a lot more that can be done here as we don't know for certain that the IP is Avenger 2015. AFAICS the targeted articles are all now protected—let me know if further pages become involved. Best, Philg88 ♦talk 04:16, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Well, respectfully, "there's not a lot more that can be done here" isn't exactly accurate. CheckUsers don't link IPs to logged in users, so none of us will ever "know for certain" whether or not an IP is the same as the blocked user. Yet, IPs get blocked all the time on duck evidence, and I don't think it gets more clear than "the IP is resubmitting the same problematic, unsourced, duplicate content that got Avenger blocked, and they're doing it in the same rhythm and pattern." But if you don't agree, that's a peculiar twist! Anyhow, thanks for your response. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:59, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Fair comment, Cyphoidbomb, so let's compromise. If the pattern of disruption continues (i.e. another of Avenger 2015's targets becomes a target of the IP) then I will block for one week. Sound reasonable? Philg88 ♦talk 05:23, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Philg88, fresh off his third block for persistent disruption, i.e. the repeated submission of unsourced, indiscriminate, duplicate content, the user submitted more unsourced, indiscriminate, duplicate content in these 6 edits. Are we going to indef him at some point, or are we going to go through the theatrics of blocking him a dozen times for a week at a time? The user doesn't even acknowledge the problem, let alone demonstrate an interest in stopping. I've already pointed out in the various ANIs that this might be a continuation of the Voice Cast Vandal's disruptions. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:35, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: OK, this has gone far enough. Blocked indefinitely. If, as you suspect, this is a sock then I don't expect it to solve the problem and Avenger2015 will likely return in a new guise. Or maybe (s)he will have a blinding epiphany. Who knows? Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 05:54, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Request for copyedit
Can you please take a look at the new Lia Olguța Vasilescu article? Bagnume (talk) 22:11, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there. Here are some suggestions to improve your article, which is not ready for copyediting.
- Add an infobox person infobox containing the relevant personal details.
- Add the PERSONDATA template.
- The prose needs improvement - at the moment it reads more like a bulleted CV.
- The references need to be formatted correctly with titles, access dates etc. See this guide.
- Good luck! Philg88 ♦talk 05:15, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
Ruins
Hello! Do you think you have the time to copy edit List of church ruins on Gotland? It is a fairly short article, now a FAN. It has never been ce'd and there are a couple of things I could think of to tweak, but it might just be that I'm unfamiliar with the kind of language used in it.
On another note (added later), I ran into something last night. I'm expanding Whampoa anchorage and at first I was just thinking I could write anything related to it in the article and then, later, if something was better off in another article about the Trade, move that text or something... Not a whole lot of planning done, just writing. Article almost ready. But then I stumbled upon some Danish sources giving me the name of the landing point in Canton. :) So I just realized that I may have expanded it sufficiently enough for a DYK, and it will be ready within seven days. I mean who can resist doing a dyk when you get a hook like "Jack-ass Point" handed to you! Anyway, I was going to come by you later and ask you to look at the Chinese things in it, since I have just found them in books and have no clue about them, but the dyk speeded things up a bit. Comments and input are much appreciated if you have the time, otherwise I'll just do my best for now. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 15:07, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- Both done kompis. Particularly nice work on the Whampoa article - well done! Best, Philg88 ♦talk 06:01, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
- Wow! Thanks! Superfast as ever. :) I totally get the NPOV tag (my first). It would be easiest to remove that sentence, but with all the atrocities they committed elsewhere I will try very hard to be able to keep it in some form or other. Fleeting idea: Have you thought of having the Wikipedia:TPS/stalked here on your page? You have a fair number of friendly tps' ready to intervene, should need arise. Thanks again, w.carter-Talk 08:35, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

Adnan Sami Edit..
Hi. I respect your view immensely. However, kindly understand the long standing frustration of Mr. Sami who has been seeing false inputs about his career & life being written in the most bogus fashion by anyone whomsoever. For example, please see the history & you will see that on one hand the discography stated that his 1st album was released in 1990 (incorrect!) and then above it states that he is active from 2006 till present!!! They wipe out more than a decade of a man's hard work. In yet another instance, someone wrote that he learned music from a "Maharaj Kathak"... For the record, "Maharaj Kathkak was a Kathak dancer & could not sing or play a musical instrument thus had nothing to do with "teaching" music!! Also please note that this is a living Legend we are talking about! The record HAS to be set straight by someone who has access to him to get the facts right. A;so, please note that this is a man who shifted to India, considered to be an enemy country of Pakistan & many Pakistanis resent him for it since they feel he shifted so called 'loyalties' by shifting to Mumbai & also, many Indians out of jealousy feel the same way about a Pakistani coming to their home & literally becoming a sensation in their land!! Therefore, many who contribute to his page are driven by personal animosity which we must protect him from as he is just an Artiste who loves his Art and has nothing to do with politics.. That is why, you will see the ridiculous discussion regarding his "Nationality".. In the talk comments, there was a person who claimed that he was in the same boarding house as Mr. Sami at Rugby School... Complete fiction as when Mr. Sami was at Rugby, he was the ONLY Asian in his boarding house!! Everyone is either trying to own him or condemn him at times.. So, I need your help to clean up this mess on behalf of Mr. Sami. I will be most grateful if you can help in this as here we are talking about a man who's contribution to Asian Music has been phenomenal & due to his lack of attention to Wikipedia, his page has been grossly abused. Even the pics I posted were provided to me by Mr. Sami personally thus I posted them for him & yet people just chose to have them deleted! Why?? If HE is in the pic & has asked me to post them, then why should anyone object & have them deleted?? He is in those pics and he has no objections!! Please do understand & help.. Many Thanks.. Peter Downings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Downings (talk • contribs) 21:06, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Peter Downings: Thanks for the message. Let me first clarify that Wikipedia is not in the business of disparaging or falsely representing anyone. Neither is it a soapbox for the promotion or eulogization of individuals. All content and particlularly biographies of living people must be neutral, verifiable and free from original research. Some of the content that you have added to the encyclopedia fails to satisifies these criteria and as a result has been removed. If you want to add images to an article they must be released under the appropriate licence and processed through the OTRS standard mechanism—since you failed to follow this procedure your pictures were deleted.
I have already told you on your talk page (as have others) that you should not edit the Adnan Sami article due to your close connection with the subject. Since you don't seem to take any notice of what people have told you, the next stage wil be a review of your editing privileges and their possible suspension. Hi Phil, if you would take a look at Ebola virus outbreak in the United States. This page title was stable but we have a problem with an editor who has been moving a lot of the new Ebola pages without any talk page discussion. He earlier had deleted/redirected the new pages, started an AfD, which ended with a keep, then made some disruptive comments on the RfC. Yesterday, he moved several pages, all without any talk page discussion]. I didn't realize he'd done that when I engaged in a discussion with another editor and as a result of that I moved the page. It's now been moved back to the stable version and I was wondering if you can protect it from any further moves. Thanks. SW3 5DL (talk) 13:36, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Absolutely this is actionable, I'm considering a SPI but in this case I think it's too old to checkuser. I would appreciate you actually reading through the linked conversations and you might see enough that "eyes on" which is what I requested to happen is defintely warranted, first off it's almost identical to the previously published article, see this 7. If you look at the additions they are adding refs that doesn't actually contain the referenced materials which was a concern from the firat AFD as well, like say this 8 and 9 doesn't actually say what they are saying it does, as a matter of fact their own source says "If you research Pink Grenade, the only person mentioned by name right now is Bim Fernandez. Why? The paradoxical response given by Pink Grenade producer, Jonathan Hay, is that “all the members, with the exception of Bim, are initially staying anonymous with costumes and masks, because it’s about the team first, not the individual.”". Thats why I linked to the edit history so you could see what I was removing from the article. Please at least do the work and look at the evidence before dismissing it. NPOV NPOV NPOV
Army A discovers rifles belonging to Army B. WP:NPOV DEMANDS we do not label this phenomena, "fortunately." We do not write, "Fortunately, the British Army discovered rifles that had been lost by the Germans;" we do not write "Luckily, the Belgian Army found food that had been lost by the Italian Army." Both sentences privilege the British or Belgian or point of view over NPOV. NPOV is as follows, "To the British Army's luck, they discovered rifles lost by the Germans...." NPOV is , "To the great advantage of the Belgians, the Italian Army had abandoned food wagons that were necessary at a critical point." Thank you. I hope this NPOV briefing sinks in. -Augustabreeze (talk) 10:43, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Augustabreeze: We don't say "To their luck" since it's gibberish. It is not non-neutral to say that someone was "fortunate" to discover a cache of ammunition—it it is purely a statement of fact. Philg88 ♦talk 15:17, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
