Hey

edit

Hey bro you’re funny as heck. I saw some of the past changes you made on the LF wiki page and I wanted to address some of them for the sake of sharing knowledge.

1. LF relationship with Israel after Sabra and Chatila

LF and Israel relations did decrease significantly after Sabra and Chatila but they wouldn’t nearly completely rupture until after the Mountain War and the failure of the May 17 agreement. The Mountain War happened because the Israelis pulled out of the mountain at the time many of the Christians who had fled the area in 77 returned and the LF came up with them because they feared that actions similar to those taken by Jumblatt’s followers in 77 would be taken against them again (that turned out to be right). The Israelis allowed the PSP (Druze followers of Jumblatt’s party) to supply themselves right under their eyes and many Israeli Druze who were in the IDF participated in the Mountain War against the LF and the Christians of the region. If you’re interested I recommend Conflict on Mount Lebanon: Maronites and Druze and Collective memory by Makram Rabah there are some stupid takes by the author but a lot of parts are great.

2. LF relationship with GOTC

The GOTC remained a part of the LF until the War of Elimination between Aoun and Geagea. Etienne Sakr was part of the Military Council in Karantina for many years until he switched sides and decided to support Aoun and Geagea told him to either leave the country or be under house arrest. Sakr would leave for Cyprus to then join the SLA in the South by going through Israel. I can provide you with a biography on Etienne Sakr if you want (not that I am fond of his ideology).

Keep it up reading and learning is important Maropedia1 (talk) 03:38, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
