Speedy deletion nomination of Testing in data mining
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Testing in data mining, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your sandbox review
editHey it's a nice beginning. Good job! Few points to be taken care of:
- Testing/validation?Wiki does not have such article names. Choose either of the two.
- You haven't given any references. As you are starting a new article, give as many references as possible.
- Try to improve the lead section.
- Use bullets instead of numbered list in Cross Validation section.
- Try to elaborate on the applications of Cross Validation.
- Only nouns start with a capital letter. Take care of this fact as well.
- Write your article in proper encyclopaedic language. Avoid using "you".
Rest all is perfect and the content is quite good as well. Just take care of these points.
Happy Editing! :)
Your sandbox review v2.0
editHey your article is shaping up quite well. Just one thing - you haven't cited the references properly. See this and get it done. :) Pratik Lahoti (talk) 08:32, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
The article Testing in data mining applications has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Very muddled article right from the lede. It's unclear which meaning of Wiktionary:Application it is referring to (software or usage) (I suspect IEP student doesn't realise word has >1 meaning). A Data mining applications article (or something with a less ambiguous title) would probably be needed before this article. The cite for "Lift chart" just shows that "Lift Chart" is the name of a tab/graph in a particular piece of software. I could go on ...
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DexDor (talk) 08:50, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
