Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Walter de Merton, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Walter Hervey (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 23:08, 10 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pvqnp940a, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia articles. Please remember to write a clear edit summary with each edit that you make, before you click "Save" ("Publish changes"). This is very important for other editors and for a variety of other reasons. Thank you, and happy editing! Softlavender (talk) 22:46, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Comment added in Magna Carta

edit

I've removed the comment that you added in Magna Carta:

* [[Richard de Argentan]]<!-- This article like so many others has been Hacked! -->

Richard de Argentan is a redlink article, most likely because no one has created it yet, not because it's been hacked. I don't think your comment is useful, and in any case a comment like that should go on the talk page instead of in the article itself. Strawberry4Ever (talk) 12:45, 12 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Bot source criticisms from "freeloading" are not helpful either. I remain anonymous because of nerds who never consider the possibility that i have weighed up all the pros and cons of writing what has happened. They always assume they know everything! So please consider the possibility that Talk is useless if you are going delete happy! Please do NOT contact me again.

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Softlavender (talk) 07:38, 2 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Talk pages

edit

Pvqnp940a, you can't forbid everybody from contacting you; Wikipedia is a collaborative venture and communication is fundamental to that. And you must use edit summaries. If you are not interested in abiding by Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, I'm afraid your time here will be limited. All of your claims of vandalism etc. have nothing to do with edit summaries. Please provide edit summaries before you are reported to administrators. Thank you. Please also learn to sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~) Softlavender (talk) 15:59, 2 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I do not need to be bullied by you. I was editing Wiki 15 years ago when it first arrived on the scene. Secondly, YOU did not invent the rules. thirdly, I have edited Summaries, and invented much of the structure additions through my inputs over many years through brainstorming with others. Fourthly, i have also used tildes before. Fifthly, PLEASE DO NOT BULLY ME ONLINE. I have asked you politely not to interfere where you are ignorant.
Please abide by Wikipedia's Courtesy Code, and be polite by respecting the wishes of others older and more experienced than you. Thank you.
Pvqnp940a, you have in fact never provided any edit summary for any of your edits: [1]. Your hostility to normal communication is problematic on this collaborative project. (Also, just FYI, I am 62 years old and have been on Wikipedia steadily for over 11 years and have made over 70,000 edits. I also know how to WP:SIGN my talkpage posts with four tildes, and how to indent talkpage posts with colons so that they nest properly -- I have indented your post for you above.) Since you do not appear to welcome my input and requests, I am going to invite a couple of administrators to speak to you and see if they can help you understand Wikipedia's protocols. I urge you to reconsider your position, as you cannot avoid inter-communication on a collaborative and administrated project which has specific guidelines and policies. Softlavender (talk) 18:59, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Pvqnp940a, you realize when you're asked to use edit summaries, you're being asked to briefly describe the change you're making, right? This is not bullying. --NeilN talk to me 19:34, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I am an administrator and I am 66 years old and have over 50,000 edits to this encyclopedia. Please realize that this is a collaborative project that requires communication and cooperation among editors. This is mandatory, not optional. So, please start using edit summaries and if anyone asks you questions about your edits, please respond in a friendly fashion. Thank you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 19:52, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
