Orphaned non-free image File:Kellton tech logo.svg
Thanks for uploading File:Kellton tech logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:29, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

Recent changes
- The Structured Content team, as part of its project of improving UploadWizard on Commons, made some UX improvements to the upload step of choosing own vs not own work (T347590), as well as to the licensing step for own work (T347756).
- The Design Systems team has released version 1.0.0 of Codex, the new design system for Wikimedia. See the full announcement about the release of Codex 1.0.0.
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 31 October. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 1 November. It will be on all wikis from 2 November (calendar).
- Listings on category pages are sorted on each wiki for that language using a library. For a brief period on 2 November, changes to categories will not be sorted correctly for many languages. This is because the developers are upgrading to a new version of the library. They will then use a script to fix the existing categories. This will take a few hours or a few days depending on how big the wiki is. You can read more. [2][3]
- Starting November 1, the impact module (Special:Impact) will be upgraded by the Growth team. The new impact module shows newcomers more data regarding their impact on the wiki. It was tested by a few wikis during the last few months. [4]
Future changes
- There is a proposed plan for re-enabling the Graph Extension. You can help by reviewing this proposal and sharing what you think about it.
- The WMF is working on making it possible for administrators to edit MediaWiki configuration directly. This is similar to previous work on Special:EditGrowthConfig. A technical RfC is running until November 08, where you can provide feedback.

November Articles for creation backlog drive
Hello Rich Smith:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
292 and 295
Okay. You tagged the blocking redirect. It's yours. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:50, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Re:Appearances and goals by club, season and competition
I took a look, and it turns out that the accepted article is almost an exact copy and paste of the version that was repeatedly deleted. The only new info added is the "Appearances and goals by club, season and competition" section, which i'm honestly uncertain about since I do not see anything in there per se that justifies an article, but I'm not familiar enough with sports notability guidelines to make a fair ruling on that matter. All the same, I'd be hesitant to drop the protection unless it was demonstrated via consensus that the new version is superior to the previously deleted versions. For you convenience, a rough copy of the previous deleted version appears below. TomStar81 (Talk) 07:38, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello and thank you for looking at my article. The Little Green men is a reference to Little green men. But I can change the description to russian troops if you insist. F.Alexsandr (talk) 17:59, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
- @F.Alexsandr: Ah, that makes much more sense... I would Wikilink the text to that article :) - RichT|C|E-Mail 19:47, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
AFC for Tactical Assault Group
Hello, I request your attention at Draft:Tactical Assault Group (game) which you declined stating it was not improved since the last decline. I discussed this first at the AfC talk page, and was instructed to resubmit this way. After the last decline, I asked the reviewer the reason since the draft appears to now clearly meet WP:GNG. They responded here that they reconsidered after re-looking at it and I should resubmit the draft as-is. Thank you. Airborne84 (talk) 16:07, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Airborne84: Thanks for letting me know. It would be helpful in future for a comment to be left on the draft mentioning this, as I'm not going to go looking on the AfC Help Desk nor previous reviewers talk pages looking for comments, I'm going to look at the draft as given. In this instance, I will revert the review - RichT|C|E-Mail 16:51, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
- Will do. Thanks! Airborne84 (talk) 00:46, 10 November 2023 (UTC)

- Last week, some pop-up dialogs and menus were shown with the wrong font size. The problem is now resolved. [14]
Changes later this week

- Reference Previews are coming to many wikis as a default feature. They are popups for references, similar to the PagePreviews feature. You can opt out of seeing them. If you are using the gadgets Reference Tooltips or Navigation Popups, you won’t see Reference Previews. Deployment is planned for November 22, 2023.
- Canary (also known as heartbeat) events will be produced into Wikimedia event streams from December 11. Streams users are advised to filter out these events, by discarding all events where
meta.domain == "canary"
. Updates to Pywikibot or wikimedia-streams will discard these events by default. [15]
