editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Palindrome, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Palindrome. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges.
Please stop adding mention of this Finnish book (possibly your book based on your user name). It has been removed four times now by four different editors, and the talk page discussion does not support the inclusion of non-English palindromes. Meters (talk) 21:52, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

editHello, Risto hot sir. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. ʍw 19:57, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. Thank you. ʍw 20:02, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Palindromes
editYou are right. I will put them in the last section in an hour. Thanks for Your notice. (Anagram16 (talk) 13:02, 1 October 2016 (UTC))
Now there are sources for the last section, but it's up to You to decide, if the template can be removed. (Anagram16 (talk) 13:07, 1 October 2016 (UTC))
- Palindromes
"Zakopane" is the name of a town in Polish mountains (Tatra). This means "buried under" the snow, perhaps. At least we understand the name in such a way today. "Na pokaz" in dictionaries is translated "for show". It fits well, because the town of Zakopane is the place, we show to tourists that come to Poland. The town is inhabited mainly by Gorals, who resemble - I think - Scottish people, are tough, very courageous and can work very hard, but like to fight and have traditional weapon named ciupaga (Shepherd's axe). They speak original dialect, make music, playing violins and bagpipes and dance "Zbójnicki". The name of the dance comes from "zbójnik" that means "highland robber". (Anagram16 (talk) 18:28, 1 October 2016 (UTC))
- We have problems with palindromes, because we have got a lot of letters as ę ą ó ś ć ż ź in Polish. There is a palindrome without them "Mamuta tu mam" (that means "I have a mammoth here). It is the title of a book written by Polish actor Stanisław Tym. Are You Finnish (Suomi)? (Anagram16 (talk) 22:07, 1 October 2016 (UTC))

Palindrome
editI took a look at Palindrome at Spanish Wikipedia and I think they are more receptive for foreign languages in Spain. They provide examples with translations. So it should be done, because a palindrom is a sequence of letters that make sense, and this sense is proven by the translation. I don't know Spanish, but may be, one day I will write something for them. Well, I am not a painter nor art photographer. I have never been much interested in palindromes or anagrams, either. I just wanted to show some very well-known examples to our English friends. Your idea to write a book for children is good. I remember, I read a book once with Tautograms that made almost whole alphabet up. As far as I know there are many examples of alliteration in Finnish poetry, so You surely know, what I am talking about. (Anagram16 (talk) 19:27, 4 October 2016 (UTC)) Why not to write Your examples with English translations to Spanish Wiki now? Someone will translate them to Spanish, I'm sure. Risto hot sir (talk) 19:38, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Well, perhaps it would be against regulations, as main text in Spanish Wikipedia should be Spanish (I agree with that) and only some examples can be English, Finnish and so on. May be, Google Translator will be helpful. Thanks. (Anagram16 (talk) 00:36, 5 October 2016 (UTC))
Fine! But the languages are sorted alphabetically, and now Czech and Polish are in the wrong place! I'll wait someone translates the Finnish ones to Spanish, 'cause there are tens of millions people in the States who speak fluently Spanish and English. - Thanks to some Finnish punk and metal bands (Nightwish, HIM, Terveet kädet...) many fans in Argentina and Brazil have even began to learn Finnish! - Alliteration is still very typical in Finnish literature and ads. "Vaka vanha Väinämöinen..." in Kalevala etc. Risto hot sir (talk) 09:38, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks. I corrected the article at Spanish Wikipedia. As far as I know, there are only two places in Europe, where alliteration is still alive, Iceland and Finland (together with Estonia, I suppose). And the importance of a language depends not on he number of speakers, but on the number of good books written in it. There were not many Greeks, but they wrote a lot and now we all speak using Greek words. The Rome was a small town in Italy in the beginning, but today many languages are written in Latin alphabet. We don't know the future and can't foretell, which languages will be great. (Anagram16 (talk) 10:39, 5 October 2016 (UTC))
- Thanks. In Polish "a to idiota!" means "He is an idiot indeed"! It is truth about Arabic scholars. It is truth, too, that European culture was held chiefly by Irish people after the Roman Empire fell. It'a a pity that the Irish don't speak Irish today. But it is good that some nations in East Europe still speak their native Finno-Ugric languages. (Anagram16 (talk) 10:16, 6 October 2016 (UTC))
- I know problems with non-Latin letters. As far as I know only the English and the Dutch use original Latin alphabet. In Slavic alphabets there are many diacritic signs. I think You should just copy whole sentences and paste them into the text. In Word documents You can use Insert/Symbols function. I took a look at Eesti Wikipedia and added "Stanisław". Today the "ł" sign is pronounced like English letter "w", but some centuries ago it was like Russian hard "l". If you are curious, in Polish there is the word "żółć" (that means "yellow colour" or in medicine "bile"). All letters are diacritic ones there. (Anagram16 (talk) 11:22, 7 October 2016 (UTC))

Hyvää iltaa!/Good evening, Risto. Have You ever tried to write for Simple English Wikipedia? The language is the same (a little simplified). There is an article about palidrome, but very short. It should be expanded. Of course all examples should be provided with a source. (Anagram16 (talk) 20:25, 9 October 2016 (UTC)) Hyvää huomenta! I'm so grateful You wrote to Polish Wikipedia! What can I do for You? Yes, simple English article should be expanded. Risto hot sir (talk) 08:23, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
- Kiitos! Please do not ask, what You can do for me, but what You can do for Finnish literature. First You can write more about palindromes (not only Finnish), next You can write about other kinds of word-play, for example alliteration, acrostics or such situations, when inside a word can be seen another word. I remember a Polish film. The hero wrote his name WOJCIECH on a steamy mirror and erased two letters, one on the left and one on the right and it was OJCIEC (father) and he really was to become a father. There are many things to write about. (Anagram16 (talk) 10:46, 10 October 2016 (UTC))
- Hyvää iltaa! Have you seen this Palindromes? (Anagram16 (talk) 21:03, 10 October 2016 (UTC))
- First, the article about Mirkka Rekola should be a little expanded. Please just rewrite it making sentences with some of the poems listed below the main text, for example Her first book was Vedessä palaa [that means...] that was published in 1954.
- Hyvää iltaa! Have you seen this Palindromes? (Anagram16 (talk) 21:03, 10 October 2016 (UTC))
Second, of course I know Golem. It is a legend (of Prague) concerned with the belief in strenght of words. A word can set a statue of clay alive. I also remember a film about Elvis Presley and it was named ELVIS LIVES, and this anagram means that Elvis will live forever. (Anagram16 (talk) 09:18, 11 October 2016 (UTC))
- I looked at Mirkka Rekola and it is good. Of course, there are some red links to be filled with articles. I don't know anything about Finnish literary awards but You can write some of them. If You make these articles (with lists of persons awarded) You will be able to make links to Mirkka Rekola from them. It seems very important, how many articles link to a biographical one. Not many people search for "Mirkka Rekola" (outside Finland, of course) but many people follow links. I know problems with articles not provided with good sources. A woman saw some mistakes in the article about her and was not allowed to correct it. (Anagram16 (talk) 10:50, 12 October 2016 (UTC))
Palindromes
editI am sorry to hear that. English people are just not interested in anything which is not English. But even in United States Spanish is getting stronger and stronger. Portuguese language also tends to be a world language, because it is spoken in Portugal, Brasil and some African countries. (Anagram16 (talk) 17:40, 12 October 2016 (UTC))
- Have You ever thought about writing a blog about palindromes (and other things)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anagram16 (talk • contribs) 20:02, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- Blog in English and Polish means "a website that contain a writer's (or group of writers') own thoughts, experiences, observations, opinions, etc., often having images and links to other websites." Blog can be created at (for example) Google. If You have an account at Google, You can do many things, not only gmail. People usually write only stupid things at their blogs and put images of their dogs, cats or girls in bikini (or without). A blog about palindromes would be something different. Personal sites can be also made at Google. (Anagram16 (talk) 10:27, 13 October 2016 (UTC))
- Everyone can publish everything in the Internet but I prefer publishing something well done and well prepared, too. You decide what you write on blog. I am interested in poetry and I have never payed much attention to a poet's preferences. Many poets could not speak freely about what they think or feel. (Anagram16 (talk) 08:09, 14 October 2016 (UTC))
Please look at this: Poems Found in Translation. It is a blog about literature. Imagine such a site about palindromes. (Anagram16 (talk) 00:07, 15 October 2016 (UTC))
Please see Mirkka Rekola at Polish Wikipedia. (Anagram16 (talk) 10:59, 15 October 2016 (UTC))
I made Mirkka Rekola at Czech Wikipedia. I hope there are no mistakes, but I tried to use simple sentences. (Anagram16 (talk) 13:37, 16 October 2016 (UTC))
Well done! My grandfather's brother, Kauko Rekola, wrote history books - about Lewenhaupt's journey in Norway and Suvorov (who lost not one single battle, made possible to divide Poland...; he might have had Finnish (Savonian) blood). Kauko's books can be found at least at the Library of Congress, in Wikipedia there's nothing. Risto hot sir (talk) 15:37, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
As far as I know history of Finland is very interesting. Unfortunately there is nothing about it in Polish school. The only thing from Finland that is really popular in Poland is Finland Vodka. Finland played crucial part in the history of the second World War, but we learn about everything else, but not about it. (Anagram16 (talk) 19:57, 17 October 2016 (UTC))
Well, perhaps all nations have or had unfriendly neighbours. China is a great country, but it was conquered many times by Mongols, the Japanese or the English. Ancient Egypt was still attacked by some poeple on horseback from the East, too. But Finno-Ugric nations still speak their native languages. So do the Basques. (Anagram16 (talk) 15:12, 18 October 2016 (UTC))
Linguistics seems to be unimportant for many people. In fact it is very important because all people use language every day. (Anagram16 (talk) 10:45, 20 October 2016 (UTC))
Thanks. I hope these references remain in Palindrome at Simple English. (Anagram16 (talk) 15:48, 21 October 2016 (UTC))
I listened to some pieces by Clutch at YouTube. Not bad. (Anagram16 (talk) 14:26, 23 October 2016 (UTC))
Mirkka Rekola in Czech
editGood afternoon. Well, I looked into Czech Wikipedia and all I found is that the article should be expanded and the language should be corrected. I hope it is not bad at all. (Anagram16 (talk) 10:31, 28 October 2016 (UTC))
An answer
editGood afternoon! I looked into discussion about palindrome and I think You wrote everything, You could write. I am afraid, however, that no arguments can convince them to expand the article over other languages. Englishmen are Englishmen and are not interested in languages "small" or "exotic", as Finnish, Estonian, Czech and Polish. You should really seriously think about making a site of Your own with paralell text in Finnish and English. (Anagram16 (talk) 11:30, 2 November 2016 (UTC))
Proposed deletion of Definitions of love in recordings
editThe article Definitions of love in recordings has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- A long rambling list of quotes that is entriely WP:OR.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Definitions of death in recordings
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Definitions of death in recordings requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. —Oluwa2Chainz »» (talk to me) 22:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Good evening, Risto! I think that such articles as Words displayed the first time in recordings can be very useful in scholarly research. Today every article in scientific book or newspaper is obligatory provided with the section Keywords. Perhaps it should be made longer. (Anagram16 (talk) 19:10, 12 November 2016 (UTC))
- Good afternoon, Risto! I noticed these few or no other edits outside this topic, but this is normal, as I did not edit for Wikiquote before. I am afraid, Your page will be deleted. It is really very hard to defend an article, they want to delete. But I still think, such pages can be useful for scholars. In some dictionaries an information about the first use of a word is given. As far as I know, words used only once, but by a great poet, are included in great dictionaries, although no one else uses it (may be in a quote). (Anagram16 (talk) 11:28, 15 November 2016 (UTC))
- Good evening! I guess who was and surely will be active. I do many things for Wiki Projects, may be I will edit Wikicytaty, too. (Anagram16 (talk) 00:48, 22 November 2016 (UTC))
- Good evening, Risto! I was never much interested in palindromic names, but I made a research, and found out, that a woman named Anna Kanak has an artistic agency in Wrocław and the agency is named Palindrom please, see this page. (Anagram16 (talk) 21:08, 24 November 2016 (UTC))
- Good evening, Risto! Have you seen this: [1]? (Anagram16 (talk) 22:00, 29 November 2016 (UTC))
- Good Afternoon, Risto! As far as I know in Polish it is called gra półsłówek (play of half-words). The words are usually combined in such a way that the effect is obscene or pornographic. Even the term is such a word play. If you change g and s the meaning is not to be talked aloud. See this: Spuneryzm(Anagram16 (talk) 18:15, 1 December 2016 (UTC))
- Good afternoon, Risto! There are two things, interesting for You. There was a Polish writer Stefan Żeromski. He used many pseudonyms, among others Iksmoreż, which is his name reversed. The second thing. There was a Czech poet Vladimír Holan. He wrote along poem A Night with Hamlet. In this poem he employed a Spoonerism. The scene is following. A child is told to go to a shop and buy some rum for tea (in Czech rum do čaje). He walks and repeats the phrase, so as not to forget it. At last he says čum do ráje (look into the paradise). See: [2] (Anagram16 (talk) 16:17, 4 December 2016 (UTC))
- Good afternoon, Risto! Have You ever heard of "palindromader"? (Anagram16 (talk) 13:29, 9 December 2016 (UTC))
- Palindromader (the word is coined from palinDROM and DROMader) is a very long palindrome. Dromader in Polish means Dromedary (a camel). Because of the fact that one of the best known Polish palindromes is Kobyła ma mały bok (Female horse has a small side), a long palindrome was compared to a longer animal. The term was invented by Stanisław Barańczak (see: Tadeusz Morawski writes about Stanisław Barańczak here.). Palindromaders are popular. In some schools there are contests in writing them. (Anagram16 (talk) 13:44, 9 December 2016 (UTC))
- Good evening! I think, human mind has inclinations to dirty things. I remember, songs for children were often paraphrased into very dirt ones. (Anagram16 (talk) 18:50, 22 December 2016 (UTC))
Good morning, Risto! I entered the discussion about Votes for deletion. I am afraid they want to delete this article and all similar articles. It is very hard to defend an article in such a situation. I think nothing can convince them. They do not notice that poetry is defining or redefining things.(Anagram16 (talk) 09:45, 21 January 2017 (UTC)) Good evening, Risto! I read the discussion. I like "A man, a plan, a canal, Panama!", "Was it a car or a cat I saw?". They are not nonsense.(Anagram16 (talk) 23:03, 15 February 2017 (UTC))
- I don't know French but I believe thay are good ones. In English it should be easy to write palindromes because they have only twenty six letters, without all these signs thare are in Polish, Czech or German. Lately I got to know about another play on words. The name of "Mensagem" ("The Message", the most important book by Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa) is said to be derived from Latin sentence "Mens agitat molem" meaning "mind moves the mass" (MENS AGitat molEM). Risto Rekola
editHave noticed you quoting a book by Risto Rekola as a source in the palindrome article, whose name has clear similarities to your username. If this is not a coincidence and you are Risto Rekola, please read WP:SELFCITE before using your own books as sources in future. --McGeddon (talk) 21:17, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- Rekola is for sure the most notable palindromist in the world - as You can see in fi-Wikiquote with thousands of classified (by subject) palindromes. Type for example "palindromeja autoilusta" ("palindromes of cars"). Tell me if You find more/better ones in the Wikipedia or Wikiquote! The quality is the only thing that matters in an encyclopedia. And You wanted the references. At least put back the Alivaltiosihteeri's palindromes! Risto hot sir (talk) 21:38, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not questioning whether Rekola is notable, just pointing out that if you are that person, you have a conflict of interest and should be careful when using your own books as sources. If you're just a big fan, that's fine, but WP:DISCLOSE strongly recommends that you inform other editors of any conflict of interest when making edits related to it. --McGeddon (talk) 21:44, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- There are no commercial reasons: who in the English world would buy mostly Finnish palindromes? A couple of linguistic departments of universities maybe. But that would be for scientific reasons only. Risto hot sir (talk) 22:02, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- Please read WP:SELFCITE and WP:DISCLOSE. Advertising can be a problem, but it's also about simple bias - if you are Risto Rekola, you are not an impartial judge when it comes to deciding whether or not to quote Risto Rekola prominently in an article. Best practice is to disclose any conflict of interest and suggest the edit on the talk page. --McGeddon (talk) 22:10, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- The point is not to choose "funny foreign" palindromes. Only the ones which are like aphorisms or philosophical sentences or include black/political humour should exist in this site. Pick up the the very best ones in Your opinion, no matter who's the writer. That's how it works in science and literature. Risto hot sir (talk) 23:03, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, and if you're Risto Rekola then you may not be the best judge of whether Risto Rekola's Finnish palindromes are not only the best examples to give of Finnish palindromes, but the best examples of all foreign language palindromes. Do you understand what I'm saying here? --McGeddon (talk) 23:25, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not the judge, it's Your decision and headache. Maybe an interpreter is needed. Alivaltiosihteeri has written very good ones , too, but not so many as Rekola. Their radio program is at it's end, probably 'cause they've lost the competition. And I can understand only Finnish, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Danish, Dutch and Estonian languages. Translated to English many French ones seem to be very good. Anagram16 knows many Polish, Russian and Czech ones. Risto hot sir (talk) 00:11, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

- There are no commercial reasons: who in the English world would buy mostly Finnish palindromes? A couple of linguistic departments of universities maybe. But that would be for scientific reasons only. Risto hot sir (talk) 22:02, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
All I'm asking here is whether you understand WP:SELFCITE and WP:DISCLOSE. You are the only judge of that. Do you understand these policy sections? --McGeddon (talk) 09:40, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I do understand. Why are the references of palindromes so important? Nobody knows who has invented that "saippuakauppias" is a palindrome, still it has to be mentioned. On other palindrome-sites they do not care (except Swedish) about sources, the only thing that matters is that they're good ones. Logically every word in Wikipedias should be referenced - and that would destroy the project! Risto hot sir (talk) 10:42, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- @McGeddon: Since Risto hot sir refuses to answer your direct question please see [3], [4], [5], [6]. I have no doubt this is Risto Rekola, particularly after the fourth diff where he mentions the deletion of an article about himself (see Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Risto_Rekola). The Finnish children's book of palindromes fi:Taasko hoksaat! was written by Risto Rekola, and Risto hot sir created the article and is the main contributor. The same can be said about fi:Risto_Rekola Meters (talk) 00:39, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to find out my name. In Finland it's well known, 'cause my books have been the most popular at e-kirjasto (library) in linguistics 1½ and in poetry 1 year. Also have I written most articles in fi-Wikiquote - as You can see from the revision history. All the main editors here know it. In my opinion he/she who knows the subject best should write, not the amateurs. The article of Risto Rekola was deleted because lack of English references - that's natural because I write in mainly in Finnish. - And again I say that no references or names are necessary in the article "Palindrome". This whole case is just an excuse to prevent foreign palindromes to appear? Risto hot sir (talk) 07:59, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yes it was obvious. The problem is that you did not say so, even when directly asked. You are the writer Risto Rekola, and you have a conflict of interest in writing about Finnish palindromes, and even more so when writing about Risto Rekola or in citing the book you wrote. Meters (talk) 19:43, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Palindrome-site
editGood evening, Risto! Please forgive me, I did not answer earlier. Of course I can add some Polish and Czech examples. I am only afraid it will be deleted one more time. Englishmen regard Latin as one of their languages (in fact it was) but pay little attention for Polish, Czech, Finnish or Estonian. (Anagram16 (talk) 18:08, 6 March 2017 (UTC))
- Perhaps You know this site: Here. There is also a good philosphical example in Polish: Zaradny dynda raz that means A resourceful person is hanged only once. It's like Shakespearean Cowards die many times before their deaths;/The valiant never taste of death but once. (Anagram16 (talk) 18:37, 6 March 2017 (UTC))

Please don't bring this up on my talk page again. This is the third time you've done so, and I am not going to discuss it on my talk page again. As I told you both times, any further discussion belongs on the article's talk page where other interested editors can see it and participate. Since you ignored my request not to bring this up on my page again [7] just stay off my page completely. Meters (talk) 19:56, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
- In fact, I not only asked you not to bring the subject up again on my talk page, I asked you to stay off my page entirely [8] after you refused to drop it. Any further posts by you on my page will be tdeleted as vandalism. Meters (talk) 20:00, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi Risto. I've come here because i don't want to seem to be badgering you on the talk page, but i fear that there are really some issues with your editing, and i just want to bring them to your attention ~ if we can work together it is much better for the encyclopaedia than if we can't. Your last two edits to the talk page concerned me as i read them, and i must ask you to clarify a bit. In this one you use an expression and translate it as comma pimp; i don't know quite what that is meant to mean, and i don't know the context, but i do know what a pimp is, and if you are calling someone that, it's not pleasant. In this you talk about true idiotism (again, using an idiom incorrectly ~ the phrase in English would be true idiocy); it's not clear what you are referring to, but i feel i must warn you against saying anything else which might be interpreted as a personal attack on any of your fellow editors. It is not mine intention to attack you or belittle you for your beliefs and actions, merely to point out that they may not be appropriate for this collaborative site. If, however, i can help you in any way, please don't hesitate to ask. Happy days, LindsayHello 10:56, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hello! Fine, I learned a new word: "idiocy". But "aito idiotia" ("true idiocy") is a palindrome You can include to the article. If someone wants that I must make a research of whether "Rise to vote, sir!" is famous in northern Europe, there's a bad attitude that makes the conversation impossible. On other languages' wiki-sites I haven't had these kind of problems, foreign-language palindromes were welcome - not too many, of course. Comma might be this: ",". Risto hot sir (talk) 11:13, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
- Good evening, Risto. I looked into Wikiqoute for Mirkka Rekola. It is good she is there. I found a bit of information that there are some translations of her poetry into Polish. I have not read them yet but I surely will when I find them. (Anagram16 (talk) 00:21, 23 March 2017 (UTC))
Your contributed article, List of persons in Wikipedia
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of persons in Wikipedia. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Category:Finnish people. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Category:Finnish people. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at [[Talk:Category:Finnish people|the article's talk page]].
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. 331dot (talk) 08:02, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

- I'm not sure if you saw my comment before it was deleted, but Wikipedia literally has millions of articles about people. Any list of them would be pretty long and of little use to readers. Wikipedia has categories to do what you wanted to do. 331dot (talk) 08:21, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
- Well, that was only a thought... but in Finnish Wikiquote the list seems to have been useful ("Siteerattujen elinvuodet"). Risto hot sir (talk) 08:58, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
- The Finnish Wikipedia (and I suspect Wikiquote) is far smaller than the English version. As I indicated, we have categories that group people together in many ways. 331dot (talk) 09:01, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
- Yes it is (420 000 and 2400 articles)! The English version has the same problem as music: when You have the opportunity to listen millions of songs, very few people really search good music, they rather prefer playlists. In ancient times when I was young, I had to earn the money to buy records - and certainly wanted not to spend it to lousy ones! Risto hot sir (talk) 16:22, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Disaster
editGood evening, Risto. As far as I know, the situation in Poland is exactly the same. An author (or a translator) has to be dead for at least seventy years. That is why Finnish literature is not well known in Poland. Finnish books were translated chiefly in 20th century and many translators live or have died recently. Also Egyptian texts (some four thousand years old) cannot be put in Wikisource, because Polish versions are only fifty years old. (Anagram16 (talk) 18:10, 15 July 2017 (UTC))
- Good Evening. In America texts before 1923 are in Public Domain. In Canada and Australia the law is more liberal. I think that these laws are against all the authors. Poets' works would be widely read in Internet but it is prohibited to publish poems. (Anagram16 (talk) 22:03, 16 July 2017 (UTC))
- The freedom of quoting is basic for every discussion. It was always normal to make quotations from books in reviews in newspapers. The sign "..." was invented to quote somebody's words exactly as they were spoken or written. Today this practice is very limited. Let us hope Your book will be popular. (Anagram16 (talk) 23:22, 17 July 2017 (UTC))

Ways to improve Karoliina Tapiovaara
editHi, I'm Mduvekot. Risto hot sir, thanks for creating Karoliina Tapiovaara!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. It seems to me that you are trying to promote your own book by writing about your collaborator. Per for example, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Anagram16&diff=prev&oldid=790909823 Please read WP:COI.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

editHello, I'm Meters. I noticed that you made a comment on the page Talk:Karoliina Tapiovaara that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Meters (talk) 20:57, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

I have never said anything about about you. I comment on articles. You have a COI in Karoliina Tapiovaara since she did the illustrations for your book, the article does not show her notability, and it appears to be nothing but an attempt to publicize your book. Meters (talk) 21:18, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Palindrome, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Take it to talk please. This is an unsourced claim that appears to be original research or your opinion. It's already been undone once. It's up to you to discuss it on the article talk and get consensus. Without a reliable source saying that palindromes are most easily created in Finnish this does not belong in the article. And the Finnish Wikipedia article is not considered a reliable source, any more than the English Wikipedia is. See OR, WP:RS and WP:BRD.Meters (talk) 21:27, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks! But it's easy to compare the length of palindome-sites in different Wikiquotes. - I'm gonna work with Tapiovaara's site. Risto hot sir (talk) 21:41, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- Why would English Wikipedia care about the length of sites about palindromes? That's not evidence of anything other than how much text is on various sites. Meters (talk) 21:54, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- It's the matter of knowledge of linguistics. I've collected and written palindromes in many languages, and in Finnish it's definitely easiest (although my mother language is Finnish). It's hard to prove, I know, but so is the existing of God also. Risto hot sir (talk) 22:04, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

- Not likely in this case. If you want it in the article then do the work yourself. If you can't be bothered then don't add this type of material again. Meters (talk) 22:48, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- If someone's not willing to get information of other languages, what can I do. But dont' call the site "Palindrome", it should be "English palindrome"! Risto hot sir (talk) 22:56, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

editMy congratulations for Your Book. The Google is so powerful that it is able not to care of law. I noticed, You had a problem with the article about Karoliina Tapiovaara, too. (Anagram16 (talk) 15:48, 9 September 2017 (UTC))
- Thanks for Your proposal, but I do not know Finnish language at all. I think a translation should be made from original language (only). For a long time translations of - for example - Chinese and Japanese poetry were made not from original text but from its English version. I read about a book of Chinese poems that were translated into French first, then this version was put in Portuguese, these poems were translated into English and sold in America as "pieces of Chinese poetry". You can think about, how much "Chinese poetry" was preserved in such a book. I hope, when Your book becomes popular, a translator with good knowledge of Finnish will read it and put in English, then in German, Polish and so on. It's a pity, Finnish language is still not much popular in Poland. Young people prefer studying English or German instead. (Anagram16 (talk) 17:37, 9 September 2017 (UTC))
- Risto, the worst thing for a book is a bad translation. As far as I know William Shakespeare's plays were not popular in Poland in 19th century, because first Polish versions were horrible. I am neither a poet nor a professional translator. Children's poetry is not easier to translate, it is the most difficult. I know about a translator, who was well educated, had a lot of experience and translated some books, but waited until he was sixty years old to begin translating a poem for children. You need a really good translator, and I hope You will find such a person soon. (Anagram16 (talk) 21:17, 10 September 2017 (UTC))

- "John was born c. 1753 in Frederick County, Virginia." refers to David's father and is the only mention of someone being born in Frederick County, Virginia. Perhaps you were confused by the two preceding paragraphs which refer to older relatives named David. Lots of Davids in that family. But the birth of the famous David Crockett who died at the Alamo is in the 3rd paragraph, born in Tennessee. — Maile (talk) 19:34, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Your edits
editIf you must add wikiquote boxes, always use an edit summary, and NEVER put them higher that Commons ones. Thanks. Johnbod (talk) 21:51, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for advice! I'll try to remember to put "Wikiquote" under the "Commons". If there are Common boxes, the Wikiquote boxes are necessary, too. The edit summary is waste of time, I think.Risto hot sir (talk) 23:30, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
- Risto, when following that advice, don't go overboard. The place for all sister project box templates is still immediately below the last heading (usually External links), not further down the appendix. If there is no Commons template, place Wikiquote immediately below the heading. If there is a Commons template present, place Wikiquote immediately below that template, not further down. - That's cool -- I'm not asking for you to be "punished" or anything. I would however appreciate a comment regarding your checking process, since if you're using an automated or semi-automated tool to do so, in the cases I mentioned the tool appears to be either not functioning properly or having a negative side-effect. The individuals in question are not noted for their quotes, and the Wikiquote pages probably need to be deleted, and if some automated tool is telling you when a Wikiquote page is created even by a non-autoconfirmed account and about a living person, that probably needs to be remedied. (There's no doubt in my mind that the motivation behind creating the defamatory pages on Wikipedia's less-prominent sister site was for them to be linked to from the Wikipedia articles.) - Hi! There are no automated tools in my use. At Wikiquote there's so much categorizing to do, and when searching birth places etc. I'll notice the missing links. And without the links You might not have found these perhaps dubious articles.--Risto hot sir (talk) 11:27, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

editGood afternoon, Risto. It's nice to hear You. Latin is not difficult, especially for Finnish speaking person. There are only six cases. (Anagram16 (talk) 16:39, 22 August 2018 (UTC))

Wikiquote
editHi, this seems daft to me. There is one quote at WQ and no reason why it could not be incorporated into the WP article, saving someone a rather pointless trip over to somewhere else. Are you now going to start adding to WQ all of the quotes given in the millions of WP articles? Where will inter-project spamming end?
Surely a better purpose of WQ is to provide quotes by the subject, not about them? - Sitush (talk) 15:16, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
Pinging Hijiri88 because I am not sure what to do here. My gut feeling is to remove the template you have just added. - Sitush (talk) 15:18, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- Only 32 000 sites at en-WQ, so it's impossible to add millions of links. I usually don't read the articles, just add missing links, and the people who know the subject well can evaluate and make the site better.--Risto hot sir (talk) 15:24, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- Not millions of links. I said we have millions of articles here and many contain quotes: are we going to see all of those quotes copied over to WQ? Many articles here contain more than one quote. Eg: there are a good few in many biographical articles of historic figures such as, wait for it, the very article about Kalhana where you just placed the template.
- I'm sorry but it really does look like spamming and creating work for people here unless you apply some judgement. As I suggested above, it might have been more appropriate to add the thing at WQ into the Kalhana article itself. I'm not even sure why WQ is hosting quotes about people - it seems likely to become even more indiscriminate than Wikipedia if it goes down that road. - Sitush (talk) 16:04, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- If you are not satisfied to the article Kalhana (which is not my work) write it better or propose deletion! I've never copied quotes from Wikipedia. If there are same articles at WP and WQ they must be connected of course.--Risto hot sir (talk) 16:27, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- I am ok with the Kalhana article on Wikipedia. I couldn't care less what Wikiquote does and you are obviously still misunderstanding my point regarding copying quotations. I have no idea what Wikiquote's policies may be regarding additions to their project but it strikes me that this particular entry is pretty pointless and I don't see why we should be pushing our readers to some other site just for one appreciative note about a person, rather than, say, a list of quotes by them. - Sitush (talk) 17:37, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- Actually, I think that I am venting at the wrong person here, sorry. You're doing nothing wrong; it's just a very poor system. Forget about it, with my apologies if I have stressed you. - Sitush (talk) 18:15, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- OK, we must remember that the article Kalhana was created today at WQ - Luke Jedi Skywalker writes only good and excellent sites, so the article will be better for sure.--Risto hot sir (talk) 18:36, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- Risto, you need to stop. Don't add any more WQ links without careful consideration. I assumed good faith after the James Gunn incident, but if you are still doing this even after being warned that is a serious problem. Hijiri 88 (聖やや) 21:53, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

Actually I'm not searching missing links but searching categories for WQ. Last night - to my surprise - I noticed that Abe Lincoln's years of living and home state were missing! Sorry, I didn't notice that it was reverted previously. But the Wikiquote link is also an invitation to make the article better.--Risto hot sir (talk) 21:26, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- It is already a Featured Article. As for making Wikiquote better, well, that is their problem and I don't hold out much hope for it except as a transcription of out-of-copyright dictionaries of quotations (which could be hosted on WikiSource anyway). There appears to be no useful selection criteria, hence the generally unquotable Tod somehow gets a page there that comprises random rubbish from his many 10s of thousands of written words. Honestly, I don't think we should be linking at all except in a very limited number of cases, eg: Winston Churchill. - Sitush (talk) 21:36, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- You should discuss with the Wikiquote's administrators, I'm just a workingman. And my mother language is Finnish, so I don't always know what's rubbish.--Risto hot sir (talk) 21:52, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
editHello, Risto hot sir. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Mara Balls moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Mara Balls, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Deletion discussion about Mara Balls
editHello, Risto hot sir,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Mara Balls should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mara Balls .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,

Wikiquote/Legends of the Hidden Temple
editPlease stop spamming this article by re-adding Wikiquote templates. There are lengthy discussions here on your talk page about why this spamming behavior is inappropriate. AldezD (talk) 20:49, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

editYour recent editing history at Legends of the Hidden Temple shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. re: Christopher Hitchens and Skepticism.
editRisto hot sir,
In regards to your repeated reverts on the article Christopher Hitchens; as others have pointed out to you, Skepticism is a term that is not limited to religion. There are a number of forms of skepticism. Please read the page Skepticism. Another good example of the definition comes from from Richard H. Popkin at Encyclopaedia Britannica. Hitchens has been described as a skeptic in several publications, notably in his obituary by the Washington Post ("Christopher Hitchens, skeptic and acerbic master of the contrarian essay, dies at 62") and Scientific American ("The Skeptic's Skeptic"), among others. You have also been making disruptive edits, as you have been edit warring by breaking the 3 revert rule (3RR): "An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page—whether involving the same or different material—within a 24-hour period. An edit or a series of consecutive edits that undoes other editors' actions—whether in whole or in part—counts as a revert. Violations of the rule often attract blocks of at least 24 hours. Fourth reverts just outside the 24-hour period may also be taken as evidence of edit-warring, especially if repeated or combined with other edit-warring behavior." See Wikipedia:Edit warring. Please be aware that if you revert again, you may be blocked from editing. ExRat (talk) 01:45, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- That's unintellectual! Next time you'll probably think that a person can be Christian and atheist at the same time, 'cause he/she can't decide. Gimme that 24-hour period if you can't stand the truth! First I considered Hitchens was a skeptic - everyone is a skeptic if he doesn't know.--Risto hot sir (talk) 02:20, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Skepticism is not solely limited to religion. Can you not comprehend this? "Skepticism is generally any questioning attitude or doubt towards one or more items of putative knowledge or belief." There is Philosophical skepticism, Scientific skepticism, Religious skepticism, etc. I pointed out good sources and references to you. Perhaps read them. No one claimed Hitchens wasn't an atheist. ExRat (talk) 03:12, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Being an atheist means that the person does not believe that gods exist. If he is not sure, he's a skeptic. So simple it is.--Risto hot sir (talk) 03:18, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Are you purposely being this thick? How do you not understand at this point that people are explaining to you that "skepticism" in this context, has nothing to do with religion or atheism? Social skepticism. Scientific skepticism. Philosophical skepticism. Perkele! Read it in Finnish if you can't understand it: Skeptsmi ExRat (talk) 04:35, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Inappropriate links
editI've just reverted your addition of Wikiquote links again. For example, WQ has a load of quotes from the highly unreliable, rabid Hindutva apologist Koenraad Elst that relate to Nathuram Godse. We don't need to stoke the fires with a random selection of lengthy, arguably copyright violating, quotations from someone like him. Furthermore, I notice that you have been asking for help from someone with whom you are working on this stuff at WQ. What you do on WQ is your business but importing it here with requests such as this could be construed as canvassing and even encouraging meatpuppetry.
I think you need to stop adding WQ link templates to any India-related articles because you don't seem to understand what you are doing and you seem to be working in tandem with the aforementioned WQ contributor, who appears to be grabbing quotes pretty much at random and without thought. - Sitush (talk) 15:31, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- Well, that's your POV. Let's see how other editors think.--Risto hot sir (talk) 15:34, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- No, it is not my POV. Elst has been deemed unreliable time and again here. - Sitush (talk) 15:59, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
Then prove it at Wikiquote!--Risto hot sir (talk) 17:16, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- I don't have to. You just have to stop indiscriminately linking this rubbish here. It isn't as if you are unaware of the issues - it has been raised with you before, and not just by me. What WikiQuote does is their business but what you do here is English Wikipedia's business. - Sitush (talk) 17:20, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- Don't comment what's "rubbish". There's the article at Wp and the article at Wq, so they must be linked together, so simple it is - Wikidata will do it anyway. And if I remember right you're the only one who has reverted these links concerning India.--Risto hot sir (talk) 18:22, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- Read Koenraad Elst, please. And if Wikidata is going to do it then there is no need for you to do it, not that Wikidata is in any better shape as a project. Is this now some deliberate campaign to trigger a Wikidata entry for Wikiquote links? For example, I noticed that a recent creation at Wikiquote by your colleague, who seems to have quite an interest in Hindutva propaganda, there was an article sharing the WP title of Reservation in India, with almost equally indiscriminate thought applied. Pinging Fram, who knows more about the Wikidata side of things. - Sitush (talk) 02:16, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
I don't know anything of that campaign. - Wikiquote does not care whether something is "right" or "wrong": all sourced quotes of notable persons are welcome - like even those of Hitler and Goebbels. And Elst seems to be notable 'cause you hate him so much.--Risto hot sir (talk) 10:23, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- I don't hate him. In fact, there is no-one I hate - I'm not that type of person. And as I keep saying, I'm not bothered about what Wikiquote does; I am bothered about you effectively importing it into this project. Here, we have a policy of neutrality and that is sorely lacking in those quotefarms. - Sitush (talk) 10:34, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- Just write quotes criticizing Elst, for example, to Wq, so neutrality can be reached! If Wq-articles are not linked, people at Wikipedia can't make improvements.--Risto hot sir (talk) 10:54, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- Not my job. How many more times must I say to you that what happens at WQ is their business, not ours? While here, you have to use sensible judgement about what to link or not link. It is not this project's responsibility to drive editors to Wikiquote, nor to drive viewers to hopelessly one-sided propaganda. Basically, as I intimated at the start of this thread, if you don't know what you are talking about then please do not add links for India stuff. - Sitush (talk) 11:17, 26 May 2019 (UTC)

Look Wikipedia talk:External links! this subject has been thoroughly discussed there.--Risto hot sir (talk) 11:27, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- Where? And you might want to look at WP:ANI while you are digging around because that it a likely venue if you persist in this and do not have consensus to do so. - Sitush (talk) 11:32, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
Discretionary sanctions for Indian articles
editThis is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor. Bishonen | talk 12:15, 26 May 2019 (UTC).
Topic ban warning
editHello, Risto hot sir. I see you have been warned several times about adding inappropriate Wikquote links to Wikipedia articles. If you do it again, you're likely to be topic banned from Indian articles. I'm also worried about your flippant replies to users who come here with serious concerns. For instance, I see above things like "To make someone happy is the job of Santa Claus", together with confident expressions of ignorance of how Wikipedia works, like "Let the administrators decide what's notable" (that is by no means the job of administrators, who have no special power over content). Since you say that 'your mother language is Finnish, so you don't always know what's rubbish' (a strange reason for not understanding what's rubbish, but never mind), it might be better if you listened more to experienced users instead of insisting that you're right. Bishonen | talk 12:36, 26 May 2019 (UTC).
- Thanks.--Risto hot sir (talk) 13:16, 26 May 2019 (UTC) - I don't have any special interest in India, the articles just were unlinked, that's all.Risto hot sir (talk) 13:40, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- Fine, you've read Wikipedia talk! But is the irrelevant Santa Claus sentence the only one you're interested in? It means that pleasing everyone will make wikis Mickey Mouse stuff. Dunno what's your culture but ours does not accept hiding articles you don't like (= censorship). "The world is ruled by words", not facts, so it's important to look what politicians, for example, have said/written. Any more comments? It's better to represent 'em at Wikipedia talk/External links (more audience).Risto hot sir (talk) 13:21, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi. If you want me to come back and read another reply from you that you post three days later, you have to ping me so I notice it. But I happened to catch sight of it now. No, the Santa Claus sentence is not the only one I'm interested in; I gave it as an example; that was why I said "for instance". The nonsense you talk about censorship tells me a good deal about you as an editor.
- But I'm here for something else. You said "I don't have any special interest in India"; I believed you, of course, but your statement now looks disingenuous. This edit, with its misleading edit summary, put promotion of Koenraas Elst's extremist Hindutva agenda in an image caption, thereby quite changing the impression the biography of Elst makes as a whole. I see it was a quote from Elst (indeed, you simply copied what Wikiquote did — not quote marks, no source — which can work in the context of Wikiquote, but is naive in Wikipedia). Anyway, you were told by Sitush not to link to Wikiquote to promote Elst, and now, instead of linking to Wikiquote, you have put an actual, highly promotional, quote from Elst, without context, into his Wikipedia article. That is devious and disruptive, and is worse, not better, than linking to Wikiquote. I considered blocking you indefinitely for not being here to create an encyclopedia, but have instead merely topic banned you from articles related to India, broadly construed. Please see the yellow box below. Bishonen | talk 09:18, 8 June 2019 (UTC).
Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement topic ban
editThe following topic ban now applies to you:
You have been indefinitely topic banned from pages related to India, broadly construed.
You have been sanctioned for persistent tendentious and disruptive editing on Indian subjects
This topic ban is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. Please go to WP:TBAN and read the information there to see what a topic ban is. If you do not comply with the topic ban, you may be blocked for an extended period, to enforce the ban.
If you wish to appeal against the ban, please check out the process described here, or ask on my talk page and I will explain how to do it. Bishonen | talk 09:18, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
Well, others will do the linkings, Wikidata for example. I have a neutral attitude to Elst, which you obviously don't have. It's just that his image was everywhere else but not at en-Wikipedia. Strange! Besides I removed the text before this "punisment".--Risto hot sir (talk) 10:45, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
Topic ban violations
editRisto hot sir, I'm not sure that you read my description of your topic ban in the yellow box above, or understood it if you did read it, or followed the link to WP:TBAN, which I urged you to go to and read. Your ban is from pages related to India, broadly construed. The Hindu goddess Radha is certainly related to India, and so is Urvashi, a nymph in Hindu legend. Nevertheless you have edited both their articles after the topic ban was placed. Those edits are violations of your ban. I'm letting you off with a warning on the assumption that you didn't understand they were out of bounds. But if you again edit India-related pages, you will be blocked. You must understand the the topic ban isn't merely from disruptive editing of India-related pages, but from all editing of such pages, because after your previous mistakes you are no longer trusted to edit them. I repeat myself: Please go to WP:TBAN and read the information there to see what a topic ban is, so that you don't again accidentally (as I assume) violate your ban.
But do not despair: If it's important to you to be allowed to edit India-related pages, my advice to you is to edit other, non-India-related, pages usefully and cooperatively for a few months, to show that you can edit Wikipedia without disruption. And then, when you have this good editing to point to, and have avoided Indian topics, ask for the ban to be lifted. Such an appeal is likely to be granted. Violating the ban again, on the other hand, is likely to get you blocked. If you want to make an edit but aren't sure if it's India-related, please ask before you edit. Editors such as me or Utcursch or Sitush can answer such questions, as can other experienced users that you trust. Good luck. Bishonen | talk 01:25, 9 June 2019 (UTC).
- Thought you had a filter or something. It's a very dangerous way to prevent people from reading religious opinions that differ your's. And you did not give a reason based on Wikipedia policy for the ban - just despotism.Risto hot sir (talk) 18:06, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
- Calling user:Bishonen a despot after she refrained from blocking you for violating your topic ban is a person attack. Please read WP:NPA.
- The reason for the topic ban is clearly given. You were informed of the discretionary sanctions in effect on Indian articles. You were warned that if you continued adding inappropriate Wikquote links you might be topic banned. You tried to get around that with what the admin called a "devious and disruptive" edit so you were topic banned. The policy reason for the ban was also given "This topic ban is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. " Meters (talk) 08:34, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'm not really interested in the quarrels on the Indian subcontinent, just want that western people will get all information that exists. For me this is a matter of principle, and no wq-link is inappropriate in my opinion. Some day some editors may decide that all links regarding U.S. presidents, for example, are inappropriate.--Risto hot sir (talk) 09:03, 10 June 2019 (UTC) - But fine, from now on I will ask for your advice if an American scientist's grandfather was from India, etc.--Risto hot sir (talk) 09:42, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)And if they were to, editors who added them might well face a topic ban unless and until they could change the consensus. I echo Meters: Bishonen acted appropriately under the current circumstances. Only if those circumstances change would you be justified in editing Indian articles. A tip: Kicking against the policies and procedures and guidelines decided by the consensus of the community or, in the case of the Arbitration Committee's decisions, by that portion of the community deputed to make the decisions, never ends well. Accept the topic ban, work out what you were doing, don't do it again, and be productive elsewhere. Happy days, LindsayHello 09:49, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

. TonyBallioni (talk) 13:27, 10 June 2019 (UTC)- Bishonen was very kind to give you a warning, but I’m not particularly impressed by the discussion that happened afterwards: comparing her to a despot for calmly explaining things to you is inappropriate and the back and forth suggests this is going to be an ongoing issue, as do your blocks on four other Wikimedia projects. I’ve indefinitely blocked you as a regular admin action (not AE.) You can appeal by following the instructions above. TonyBallioni (talk) 13:30, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Request for unblocking
editRisto hot sir (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Links are used everywhere in the wiki-world. I'm just wondering why just India-related links to Wikiquote are forbidden, Wikidata will link 'em in every case. I have no special interest in India. Got a barnstar for linking to en-Wikiquote. I meant "despotism" in general, not that some specific editor is a despote. Besides, I promised to ask advice from an administrator in the cases concerning India - just before the block.--Risto hot sir (talk) 20:10, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I've read all of this talk page, and I'm seeing a chronic refusal to follow Wikipedia policies - or to even listen to what they are when you are told. Instead I'm seeing a consistent and unshakeable "I'll do it my way whatever anybody else thinks" attitude. Couple that with blocks on four other Wikipedias, including your home language one, and I really don't think it is to this project's benefit to unblock. The WP:Standard Offer might work, but I think we'd need to see a significant change in attitude in the intervening period. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 21:26, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- I have put your block appeal into the unblock template. It's the template that calls an uninvolved admin to this page to review the block, so it's needed.
- It does look like you didn't read, or alternatively didn't understand, my topic ban. India-related links to Wikiquote are by no means "forbidden"; you, personally, are forbidden from adding them. I don't know how to explain it any more clearly than I've already done. Note also that the last straw, which made me topic ban you, was not a link to Wikiquote; it was this edit and, as I say above, its misleading edit summary. Bishonen | talk 21:19, 10 June 2019 (UTC).
- That image of Elst with text was a mistake, I admit, but I removed the text myself. What it comes to blocking me from Finnish Wikiquote is a long story, but after creating most of its articles (and since last August hardly anything has happened there - the Finns must read new Finnish texts at Estonian Wikiquote) I critized the passive attitude of the admins (50 edits a year) while many many sites have no references and copyright laws are not respected. Also have I got no warnings here for personal attacks.--Risto hot sir (talk) 21:40, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- You're welcome to make another unblock request and another admin will review it. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 21:53, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- "I removed the text myself"? Come on. You've made that claim several times, but you should stop, because it's not true. You were reverted, and then restored the image without the text. Based on that, the most you can say is "That image of Elst with text was a mistake, but at least I didn't edit war to put the text back." Bishonen | talk 22:19, 10 June 2019 (UTC).
And this is essential?Risto hot sir (talk) 22:57, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- " I got no warnings here for personal attacks" is also not correct. More than one editor has commented on this page about incivility and personal attacks by this editor, and [9] was a formal NPA warning. Meters (talk) 22:50, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Oh, yes indeed! That was from you (August 2017). Remember that I've edited 380 wikis and had trouble only in about ten.Risto hot sir (talk) 22:57, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- What's your point? Yes I gave you that warning. That's how I immediately knew that your claim that you had never received an NPA warning was incorrect. Meters (talk) 02:24, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Let's look how this episode started, simple and clear: my main work at en-Wikiquote has been categorizing. Doing this I've checked the categories at English Wikipedia and at the same time that the links are there. Also have I added many missing categories to Wikipedia. Recently there was many new Indian related articles at Wikiquote, and I linked 'em as usual, there's nothing wrong with it - without any special interest in India. Now, someone didn't like that and managed to prevent me linking India-topics. Afterwards this in my opinion strange decision had to be justified by digging unessential stuff I've written during three years.Risto hot sir (talk) 09:09, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Dlohcierekim (talk) 15:29, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

your reason here This block is harmful to the project because from now on I will make only useful, nondisruptive contributions - which I've done 5000 here and 80 000 at 380 wikis -, like linking to Wikiquote (but not articles concerning India) and adding missing categories to Wikipedia. The reasons for the blocking were disruptive editing on Indian subjects, personal attacks and inability to get to the point. These won't happen anymore. This kind of behaviour won't happen anymore.
