Speedy deletion nomination of File:Graduate Institute Geneva Student Residence.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Graduate Institute Geneva Student Residence.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Replaceable fair use File:HouseOfPeace.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:HouseOfPeace.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:44, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Robinsonodora! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at List of alumni of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies that may not have been. An article you recently created, Eric Suy, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Proposed deletion of Svein Andresen

edit

The article Svein Andresen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not enough in-depth coverage to meet WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi my friend. I hope you are fine. I have removed a lot of unreferenced information from this page. The new page review is one of the last approval stages, so when I see a page like this with a large amount of unreferenced information, and no {{In use}} tag to show that the page is undergoing a major build, I tend to err on the side of caution and remove the unreferenced information. The easiest solution is for you to add the tag to indicate the page is still under construction (if it is). This prevents me and other editors from editing the page until the process is complete and the tag is removed. Please assume good faith of me, as I do of you. By all means add the information again when you can add the references. Best wishes, BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 01:28, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

COI?

edit

Dear Robinsonodora, you are a prolific contributor to wikipedia pages related to The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, including its faculty and alumni. To have a single-purpose account is of course allowed. Some single-purpose accounts, however, are used by editors who have a conflict of interest or clear link with the topic. This is strongly discouraged but allowed as well. Furthermore, it should be disclosed by the user, certainly when a user is paid to edit wikipedia, for instance by a PR agency. Do you have a conflict of interest? Then you are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly. Please disclose your COI if this is the case. CBJH (talk) 18:29, 18 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Robinsonodora again, could you kindly respond to my inquiry? The Conflict of interest noticeboard should "only be used when ordinary talk page discussion has been attempted and failed to resolve the issue," but without a response, I will need to discuss the issue on the COI noticeboard, certainly because the Graduate Institute wikipedia page has a history of edits by users with a conflict of interest. Still hoping to get a response on your talk page. CBJH (talk) 09:00, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Other wikis have different standards for notability. Ambassadors are not inherently notable, so there needs to be in-depth coverage of them in independent, reliable sources. Gotcha thank you. There won't be any for Linus von Castelmur, Kwami Christophe Dikenou and Elyes Ghariani. For Andreas Guibeb, I added more background and re-submitted. He was CEO of a national airline and arranged for an important post-colonial relic to be repatriated. In view of that, I think he is notable. Robinsonodora (talk) 01:19, 3 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Kwami Christophe Dikenou moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Kwami Christophe Dikenou, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption.   Hi Robinsonodora! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Jean d'Aspremont that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:24, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
