File source problem with File:Gen. Wool in Saltillo.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Gen. Wool in Saltillo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:22, 12 November 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 12:22, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Sandusky (automobile company)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sandusky (automobile company) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! Nomination of Sandusky (automobile company) for deletion
editA discussion is taking place as to whether the article Sandusky (automobile company) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sandusky (automobile company) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Courcelles 22:36, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of C-A-C (cyclecar)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on C-A-C (cyclecar), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Fair use rationale for File:Autos4759.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Autos4759.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 14:25, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
License tagging for File:Packard Model A.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Packard Model A.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:07, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

editHello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. There is no need to sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. editWelcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Digimon: The Movie and Nintendo DSi, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. « ₣M₣ » 19:47, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Archeology and the Book of Mormon
editYou obviously are new to the Book of Mormon pages. These pages are highly contentious and you can't just add stuff that is your own original research without getting a consensus on the Talk page first. Do not keep adding that irrelevant information about Roman glass until you have built a consensus for it on the Talk Page first. These pages are too sensitive for any old editor to show up with something he or she found and thinks is relevant. --Taivo (talk) 23:39, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
Named references
editChzz was born in 1837. <ref name=MyBook> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref> Chzz lives in Footown.<ref name=MyBook/>
Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.
Citation templates
editYou can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;
Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation | last = Smith | first = John | title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century | publication-date = 2001 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]] | page = 125 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4 }} </ref>
Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.
For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs.
Something to make your life easier!
editHi there Rockclaw1030! I've just come across one of your articles, and noticed that you had to create titles for your url links manually, or were using bare urls as references.
You might want to consider using this tool - it makes your life a whole heap easier, by filling in complete citation templates for your links. All you do is install the script on Special:MyPage/common.js, or or Special:MyPage/vector.js, then paste the bare url (without [...] brackets) between your <ref></ref> tabs, and you'll find a clickable link called Reflinks in your toolbox section of the page (probably in the left hand column). Then click that tool. It does all the rest of the work (provided that you remember to save the page! It doesn't work for everything (particularly often not for pdf documents), but for pretty much anything ending in "htm" or "html" (and with a title) it will do really, really well. Happy editing! The references you added may verify that the cars exist, but the websites linked to don't verify the origins of the names - a name that appears to refer to an animal may be named after a person or place. Peter E. James (talk) 00:08, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Number formatting
editThis contribution was bad for three reasons - so take a look at WP:MOSNUM. 2-cylinder engine should be two-cylinder engine - low numbers are always spelled in words not figures. 87" wheelbase should be 87-inch wheelbase or better still {{convert|87|in|sing=on}} - the correct unit of measure is inch and where possible you should use the {{convert}} template. FInally, 1,800lbs should be 1,800 lb - lb is singular not plural and there is a non-breaking space between the number and unit of measure (and of course you should use the convert template. Any questions, just ask. --Biker Biker (talk) 20:19, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

editHi. In Kaiser Dragon, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Karat (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Thanks for the Pontiac Torpedo page
editI was fiddling with Wikipedia large car pages (as I often do in the dreary winter weeks between semesters when I noticed you had only recently created a Pontiac Torpedo page. I'm a huge fan of General Motors C-body cars and the lack of a page to post 1940-41 Pontiac Series 24/29 Torpedo material was consequently sorely felt by me. I've made some additions to the page you created and I hope they are welcome. Thanks. Sadowski (talk) 05:19, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
No Need For Excessive Detail in Infoboxes
editI just noticed you added a HP figure for the 1936-37 Buick Roadmaster in the infobox. I don't think this kind of detail is necessary or particularily illuminating. Such detail should either be included in the body of the article or in the associated link (i.e. in the article on the engine). Otherwise the infoboxes will soon be buried in excessive data, and that's not their purpose. Sadowski (talk) 11:43, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Lists of "In Popular Culture" in Wikipedia articles are discouraged. The same issue was discussed recently on the Ocelot talk page; you may wish to go there and read the rationale.
Your edits disregard the opinions of three different editors; you might state your case on the Cougar Talk page instead, and try and gain consensus. Failing that, try creating a "Cougar in Popular Culture" page and see if it survives WP:NOT. --Seduisant (talk) 00:01, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Thanks. With the later ones cited and the earlier not, that section didn't look right. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Pokemon Red Rescue Team.JPG
editA tag has been placed on File:Pokemon Red Rescue Team.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. editNot sure where you copy-pasted all of this text from, but it is a copy-paste of several chapters of Karl Ludvigsen's book Opel: Wheels to the World. I know this happened a hundred (8) years ago and I do not hope for any repercussions, but if you have committed any other similar copyvios I strongly recommend going back and deleting them. Best, Mr.choppers | ✎ 05:59, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Mr. Choppers. Hope you are doing well. If you remember, at the time there was a screwy edit with the Opel page that, quote "ruins the page leaving only the Opel insignia and an error message." (that is what I said on the edit at 20:17, 11 April 2012) You responded on my talk page with "Sorry, didn't realize how screwy that edit was. Also hadn't noticed all of the German English on the page... Apologies." Now today at 5:59 UTC you posted on my talk page "Not sure where you copy-pasted all of this text from, but it is a copy-paste of several chapters of Karl Ludvigsen's book Opel: Wheels to the World. I know this happened a hundred (8) years ago and I do not hope for any repercussions, but if you have committed any other similar copyvios I strongly recommend going back and deleting them." I did NOT add that text, nor have I ever heard of the book "Opel:Wheels to the World" till I read your post today. On April 11, 2012, I was playing with the text to see what was causing the error message, as seen here:
20:17, 11 April 2012 (diff | hist) . . (-58,836) . . Opel 20:09, 11 April 2012 (diff | hist) . . (+43,596) . . Opel 20:08, 11 April 2012 (diff | hist) . . (-102,382) . . Opel 19:56, 11 April 2012 (diff | hist) . . (-25,650) . . Opel 19:48, 11 April 2012 (diff | hist) . . (+12) . . Opel (Undid revision 486809644 by EnzaiBot (talk))
The edit where I added 43,596 bytes of data was me adding text back that was already on the page, and I did it to see if I could fix the error message. The stuff from the book by Karl Ludvigsen (which I assume is all that WW2 stuff from what I saw you deleted) was, from what I could find, added on 13:35, 26 January 2010 by a user named Ds1863.
I hope this clears things up! Let's continue to make Wikipedia a great recourse! Best regards, --Rockclaw1030 (talk) 20:14, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
