Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Yossi Benayoun, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tommy Carroll (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

NOTABILITY

Hi there RR, AL "here",

I see you are also having a major difficulty, like User:Eden10Hazard, to grasp the concept. Carlos Fernández Luna is not notable. He played in the Copa del Rey with Sevilla FC yes, but the opposition, Racing de Santander, plays non-professional football, in Segunda División B, so he does not merit an article.

Furthermore, even if he did merit an article, he was not to be immediately put in the Sevilla squad template. Due to his age (17) i think he his still a junior, but even if he's not he'll still be several years connected with Sevilla Atlético the reserves, not the first team OK?

Attentively, happy holidays --AL (talk) 00:48, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Carlos Fernández Luna

The article Carlos Fernández Luna has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league. His appearance in the Copa del Rey was against non-fully-pro opposition and therefore does not confer notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   Hello, I'm DUCKISJAMMMY. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Adam Henley without thoroughly explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 07:46, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2014 WikiCup!

Hello Royroydeb, and welcome to the 2014 WikiCup! Your submission page can be found here. The competition will begin at midnight tonight (UTC). There have been a few small changes from last year; the rules can be read in full at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, and the page also includes a summary of changes. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work, and nominated, in 2014 is eligible for points in the competition- the judges will be checking! As ever, this year's competition includes some younger editors. If you are a younger editor, you are certainly welcome, but we have written an advice page at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Advice for younger editors for you. Please do take a look. Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! Your GA nomination of John Johnson (footballer)

The article John Johnson (footballer) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold  . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:John Johnson (footballer) for things which need to be addressed. Please cancel the GA review of Waar. That is the request of the nominator Umais Bin Sajjad. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:04, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Problems - Reply

Hi there RR, AL "here",

we have to wait until the deal has been confirmed officially, by any of the clubs or a reliable third party. However, both sources you sent me seem to indicate it's a confirmed move.

Hopefully i was of help --AL (talk) 16:01, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

A favour now, if possible: please don't add SOCCERBASE.com as a source for SPANISH footballers, unless they've played extensively in the United Kingdom as Fernando Torres for example. In cases not like that one, it's very very poor. Please take example from Carlos Marchena to see the corrections i've made (the title of refs, not "Marchena stats" but "Marchena: Carlos Marchena López" like it says in BDFUTBOL.com, the names of competitions, example Supercopa de España not Super Copa del España). I also don't understand why some dashes are small and others are big on those charts, i know you don't have the big dash and the accents on your keyboard, but you can copy/paste it (at least the dash) from the infobox or the many many match results throughout the storyline.

Thanks, cheers --AL (talk) 19:26, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Wayne Rooney GA nomination

Hi, I see you've nominated Wayne Rooney for GA status just seven days after the last nomination failed, and that you haven't not made any amendments to the article in that time. This begs the question why, when it is almost certainly going to face the same fate? Mattythewhite (talk) 17:39, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, didn't realise you weren't able to improve the article during the allotted period. Good luck with the second nomination. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:01, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
Regardless of not being available to edit during the original GA nomination, you should have made the necessary changes to the article before nominating again. By all rights, I should turn down this new request by default, seeing as no changes have been made since the last review closed, but I'll leave it to someone else. – PeeJay 18:11, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
This has now been closed. Note that you already have four other nominations awaiting review and three reviews:
you have undertaken to do yourself, which appear to require your attention. I would suggest you focus on those, before opening even more reviews. Thanks, C679 13:10, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
Cloudz679, the nominator of Waar has requested for the article's GA review to be cancelled, as they are no chances of further improving the article. But the review (Royroydeb) has not yet taken any action. So I kindly request either of u to end it. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:11, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
I have failed it. User:Kailash29792. RRD13 (talk) 04:16, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Royroydeb, please stop opening frivolous GA nominations on Wayne Rooney. GA is not a substitute for peer review. If you want to know how to improve the article, open a PR request. – PeeJay 22:32, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

GA recruitment

I ended my GA recruitment personally after you did not reply for two weeks. I would hope you would consider better time management techniques in the future and only take on tasks that you can complete in a timely manner. --Molestash (talk) 21:39, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles December 2013 Backlog Drive

Hi everyone, I've noticed that a few of you haven't updated your totals as several reviews have passed but on the backlog page, it still says that the article is under review or on hold.

Please update your totals and continue to do so until February 1. If the status of a review is under review or on hold according to the backlog page, even though the article may have passed/failed, it will not count towards your final total.

For those that made pledges during the drive, the final donation amount will be determined sometime in February.

Thank-you.Sent by Dom497 using MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:17, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 January newsletter

The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer   Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:

Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.

Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. User:Cloudz679, its nothing harmful or any racial comment. Its a bengali phrase which we ie east bengal fans used to chant when barisic used to score a goal. Nothing more than it. If you still have any doubt you can ask any bengali speaking editor to translate it. Since I did not knew this , I will not use it any more. RRD13 (talk) 06:23, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
I'm sure it's innocent, it's just not constructive for edit summaries. Thanks, C679 11:19, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
