Unspecified source for Image:Dwschapel.JPG
editThanks for uploading Image:Dwschapel.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 04:40, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

YouTube video link
editPinay emailed me (Zach) about the situation involving an youtube video you uploaded and tried to include on Wikipedia. As long as I get confirmation that the video is uploaded by you, you created it and is alright with your bosses, we could use it. However, if that still doesn't work, we could try hosting the video on Wikipedia itself under the OGM format. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 00:33, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

- To use Winamp (to get the OGG codec version), you need to go to the Winamp website and click the player to download. Click "get basic" then click "full." --Pinay (talk•email) 22:53, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate Image:Genera and council.jpg
editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Genera and council.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Genera and council.jpg is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Genera and council.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 13:11, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of "SVD Alternative Learning System or SVD ALS"
editA page you created, SVD Alternative Learning System or SVD ALS, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is a blatant copyright infringement.
You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.
Thank you. RJaguar3 | u | t 00:34, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of SVD Alternative Learning System or SVD ALS
editThe article SVD Alternative Learning System or SVD ALS has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unreferenced, essay-type article, and most likely original research. Borderline spam.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Singularity42 (talk) 03:06, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Diwa
editI stopped this from imminent deletion. Please provide enough material that it can at least be seen if it has a chance of being notable. based on what is generally accepted here, an article about a journal should contain:
- Full name, & dates of start
- earlier & other titles, with dates
- Standard abbreviations used--make redirects from them.
- publishing & sponsoring body, as well as earlier publishers & sponsors
- availability on line
- availability open access, if relevant, with any limitations.
- frequency of publication
- no. of articles published a year
- circulation (sourced somewhere--default place to get it is Ulrichs)
- Name of the editors-in-chief, (but only the eds. in chief) with their institutional affiliations -- include earlier ones also. Make a link for them even if they do not yet have an article.
- A list of the major indexing services that cover it
- any actual references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases.
- a list of the 3 or 4 most influential articles similarly,
It should not contain
- general information about the company: this belongs only in the article on the company.
- Repetition of the name of the publisher or the journal. Once each is enough.
- A list of everyone the editorial board
- names of the staff, except editor in chief
- Information on pricing.
- vague promotional statements about how useful it is for people in the relevant profession
- a list of all the possible subjects covered, unless it is not reasonably obvious from the title
- adjectives of praise
- and, most important, it must contain no text from the web page description of the journal. This is a copyright violation, and needs to be rewritten. Even if you are prepared to donate copyright according to WP:DCM, it is likely to be unsuitably promotional.
If I can give you any help with this, let me know. I'm an administrator here, and one of the people here who deal extensively with journals. (you can see my background from my user page). ` DGG ( talk ) 05:43, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (File:Diwacover.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Diwacover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 14:57, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Diwacover2.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Diwacover2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Skier Dude ► 04:18, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:General council.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:General council.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude ► 04:18, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
