I made some general improvements. It is ready to be moved back into the article space, but you will need to ask for administrator assistance to do that. I'm a bit bogged down on content work, but I know there is a lot to be done on the article. It doesn't have any information on how he performed in the olympics. I'd suggest seeking assistance from people at Wikipedia:WikiProject Martial arts and/or Wikipedia:WikiProject Olympics. User:H1nkles isn't extremely active right now; however, he works on many Winter Olympics articles and is good at reviewing articles so he might be able to assist you. I don't know if I'll get time to get a good look at it (Finals week is starting), but I can tell you right away that it doesn't comply with the Manual of Style. Specifically, you shouldn't bold your section headings. There are probably more MOS issues, and they will be one of the first things that I look at when I get a chance. Here is a bigger problem that I see: the entire thing screams original research. Specifically due to the title/scope of the article. An article on theodicy exists, so rewriting this in a form of explaining theodicy won't work. I think it might possibly be beneficial for you to rename it Christian theodicy. It is a less essay-like title, and it would allow you to write your lead beginning with Christian theodicy is... which is how MOS states that an article should begin. Another problem I see from the get-go (notice, I haven't even had a chance to read through your entire article yet, just a quick skim) is that many of the sources appear to be primary sources related to the Bible. This is fine if you are writing a research paper, but it isn't desired for writing on Wikipedia. Instead, it is better to stick to sources like this one where an expert analyzed the primary sources and wrote a paper/article about theodicy. I'll hopefully get to take a deeper look at your article in about a week, but for now I'll send it to my dad and see if he can take a look. I've had him analyze articles for me and he is a very biblical man, so he should be able to find good and bad things about your article. Thank you, Ryan, for taking time from finals preparation to give me your opinion. I hope the exams went well for you. In what follows, I have divided your comments into sections accompanied by my questions and comments:

(1) You wrote, “you shouldn't bold your section headings.” But, I find that the MOS uses bold section headings and I cannot find where bold section headings are prohibited. However, with the multitude of Wiki-rules, I might well have missed it.

(2) You point out that an article on “theodicy” exists. Yes, but have you looked at the article and the long history of its multiple problems on its talk page?

(3) You suggest renaming the thing “Christian Theodicy.” It would be possible to write an article about the many differing theodicies held by various Christians through the ages, but that would be a very different and more complicated article.

(4) You say that “the entire thing screams original research” and that I should have based the Wiki article on articles from other encyclopedias. But Wikipedia guidelines say: “Gather references both to use as source(s) of your information and also to demonstrate notability of your article's subject matter” and then state “the consensus of experts.” This I have done. I am an 88 year old professor emeritus of a theological school and have read what many “experts” have written on the “article’s subject matter” — not all because there are thousands of books on the subject. Furthermore, a “consensus of the experts” does not exist, so the article reports this fact. The vast amount of literature on the subject coupled with the disagreements that prevent consensus make writing an article following Wikipedia’s guidelines a more difficult challenge than writing books or journal articles.

My purpose in writing my article was precisely to inform the reader about a fair sampling of books and articles by various “experts” about “theodicy” where it intersects with the “Bible” by referencing their writings in their own words.

(5) I will be glad to receive your Dad’s comments. But I should remind you that, at this stage, all I want to do is get the article to a point at which it can “go live” without being deleted or userfied. Then other editors, maybe including yourself, can make it a better article.

Deletion of Cobalt (CAD software)

Please explain your reason for removing the banner - "millions of google search results" is hardly relevant, especially when the software is named after a metal. I don't get it. I say that there are serious questions about the notability of the entry, these questions have come up many times without being resolved. You remove the PROD because you get a lot of hits - I don't get how the number of hits on google is relevant, there's no mention of that criteria on the Wikipedia:Notability. Pretty much, like I said, if you have serious doubts as to its notability then bring it to WP:AFD. It appears notable to me, but I can assure you I'd find a better argument if you brought it there or perhaps I'd discover it's not notable after all. I highly doubt that though. The article is well written and I don't see many indications that it violates Wikipedia:Notability (software). That being said, my reason for removing the PROD was in direct violation of "Also keep in mind that the number of google hits itself do not impart notability". Hello May I bother you now...Haa!

O.K. I'm Rich Monday and I was working with Worm for an hour or so and I'm very new and inexperienced here, but very intrigued by the whole format and power of this site. I just don't know how to operate anything yet and it's frustrating.

Let me first ask you something about my user name and what led me this site. Friends of mine told me to document my career from the 1980's as a sponsored professional skateboarder, kind of like making a brief bio page about my experiences. I was told search engines and everyday people could find my information easier if I were to be listed in Wikipdia.

Now, with that being said, I am thinking along these lines here, that my user name is what will be the keyword when someone does a search of my name Rich Monday. So since I left out the space between my first and last name I have been troubled that nobody will find me unless they type my name like it is now (RichMonday). Am I wrong about this? When a person searches my name correctly what is the trigger keyword that would bring them to Wikipedia where my bio is stored?

But I still would like to change it because on my first page it just looks sloppy. Can you help me change it Ryan? Today someone named ChrisG. denied the change stating, that 2 other places had the same name as I wanted, so I did a search for about 25 minutes and found nothing, so it's probably me that has the 2 places with my name at it. Now why wouldn't he tell me where these places are, so that I could correct the issue? He just denied me and left and I couldn't find him after an hour of trying to learn how to search for him. You see Ryan how new it all is to me, man it crazy frustrating and it's such a simple request. How about you and I cleaning up house and sweep this time consuming thing right out the door. Can you walk me through it Ryan, or know who can?

Well, I can certainly help you with your username problems; however, the bio issue is going to be a bit more difficult. So first, a person didn't actually look at your request. It was actually a bot and its user page is User:Chris G Bot 3. It is designed to review requests and tell the bureaucrats if there are any problems with the request. There were some problems in that it appeared like you wanted to change your username to User:Newname rather than User:Rich Monday. Like I said at Worm's page, all you need to do is to copy the new code I gave you at the bottom of the page. The bureaucrat who I left a note with should be able to help you out when he gets on too.

So, your userpage isn't actually a Wikipedia article. It is meant to hold things that let editors know about you and it can also hold things like userboxes. An actual Wikipedia article would exist at Rich Monday; however, I would highly encourage you not to create it. First, Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy and Wikipedia's autobiography policy because it is strongly discouraged that you write an article about yourself. Second, in order for an article to exist on you, it would need to meet all the notability requirements at Wikipedia:Notability. I did a Google search for "Rich Monday" and I didn't find wide coverage in news sources. Wikipedia isn't a place to advertise yourself, it is a place to have articles on people who have wide coverage already.

We would certainly love to have you editing and improving the encyclopedia. And there are many things that you could help do. First, you can do small things like correcting spelling and grammar on articles that need it. Otherwise you can do things like look at Category:Articles needing cleanup and see if there is anything you can improve. Ryan, since you were active in helping to build the project over on Cobalt (CAD program) last week, I thought you would be interested in more of the same sort of thing (deletions) by the same editor here on Talk:List of computer-aided design editors#Removed and Banned entries. Your involvement may be most helpful if you can just watch over what he does to ensure he is actually discussing what he desires rather than act like a bull in a china shop without listening to others. His unilateral actions like declaring that various programs, including “Cobalt”, be deleted from Wikipedia and from the list isn’t exactly an unheard-of sorta thing on Wikipedia. However his single-handedly declaring how things must be done by posting an announcement on the talk page with the section heading “Removed and Banned entries” and his tenacity over the months on “Cobalt” suggests he A) might have a singular focus, and B) might need help to understand the art of collaborative writing on en.Wikipedia.

This matter is probably more about the procedure of doing things rather than concerning oneself with the nuts and bolts of CAD. However, turning one’s Common-Sense-O-Meter to “80,”, it’s clear that with people like Burt Rutan of Scaled Composites designing space ships like SpaceShipOne using Cobalt, the program is clearly notable. I have so little time to devote to this today. So far, I’ve spent my entire morning dealing with this editor. He just got through having it clearly demonstrated to him that it was at least 2:1 (probably 3:1) consensus against his wishes (he’s the only hold-out so far). Notwithstanding that, he restored all this deletions of entries that GFHandel and I have told him are inappropriate. Maybe you can try to straighten him out that such bold moves must first be discussed and a clear consensus for them agreed to before wholesale deletions of material can be made. The discussion is here at Talk:List_of_computer-aided_design_editors#Complaints_over_unfair_removal. Please check his recent edits. If he persists at what is increasingly looking like disruptive editing against consensus, this may have to go to ANI. He seems to be convinced that “his views of *the facts*” trumps “consensus”. I have to go for the moment; real life needs tending to. I’ll be back this evening. The normal import script works fine for now. Its just that its kind of inline to be deprecated someday so I favor mw.loader.load instead. And the first line is a tracking trick that allows me to know who is using the script to be able to give important notices to users. Death of Kelly Thomas

the edit request states:

At the end, it says that toxicology reports did not find "illicit drugs or alcohol" in his system. I clicked on the reference number for that, and was taken to an OC Register story that made NO mention of a toxicology report or drugs tests. It needs to be removed if there is no source. Whether or not he was on drugs is EXTREMELY relevant to the story.

this is the OC Register story he refers to, which quite clearly states:

The toxicology report shows that Thomas had no illicit drugs or alcohol in his system.

so, we have an editor who requested removal of sourced content, and another editor who complied. when restoring the sourced material, i added an additional source to placate the requesting IP. i would not go so far as to assume bad faith, but i would like to point out this edit from that same IP to the Arvada, Colorado article. in Death of Kelly Thomas, the IP simply used a different tactic, by getting a complicit editor to remove sourced material for him. in light of all this, i believe my edit summary was appropriate. -badmachine 10:07, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Adoptee or mentee

Hello! I selected a couple adopter names that resonated well with me to see if someone could mentor a new editor already going through RFC/U. There is disagreement whether the editor's admitted bad habit of not handling disputes well is reformable or irreformable. It appeared the next step was for an outside entrant (me) on the "pro" !side to see if a neutral mentor can be found agreeable to all parties. It would be understood that if two other editors objected to the mentee's edits as, say, personal attacks, the mentee and the objectors (e.g., those from the "irreformable" !side) would give you the power to make a judgment to strike or not to strike. The editor in question is User:Agent00f and the topic area is mixed martial arts, though he has expressed willingness to demonstrate constructive edits to other topic areas. Hey, I have only recently begun actively taking adoptees and I am unsure if I am prepared for a situation like this. I also think that in this situation, an adopter/mentor should be an administrator so that blocking can be left to the adopter's discretion. I was wrong with 10, having looked at your most recent 500 contributions which gave 55 matches for 'deletion' in 5~6 days, 9~11 per day, split the difference with 10 (looking further, many are completely other things). Searching 'les for del' only gives 22, but still 4~5, so off but still over the 'silly' line. You're recognizable at AfD and elsewhere, and your contributions are appreciated. It still made me laugh. Thanks for the gesture. While I may run someday, I doubt that I will be running within the next year. There are still some concerns with my editing habits (users concerned with speedy deletions that are slightly too speedy) and I think it might take the community a bit more time to get over this. Stephens City, Virginia

Thought I would slide this over here, so as to not overwhelm Wehwalt's talk page. Anywho, perhaps it is because I am using Firefox 12.0 or I have a 15" monitor, but the Audio File box seems to ber overlapping the geolocation box. Otherwise, it looks great, just that one small problem. I was thinking about moving the Audio box and the commons box to a "See Also" section, but am unsure if that would work since I don't have anything else to "see". - Neutralhomer • Talk • 09:34, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for the slow reply, I am a night owl and just got up. Anywho, I did some tinkering and moved the external links out of the col tags and expanded everything 100%. It keeps the geolocation box in check (in a smaller version) and moved the Commons box and the Audio File box to flush to the right. Since we have the geolocation box taken care of, I am wondering what we should do with the {{Stephens City Ancestry Box}} template. It is a big long and I am unsure if it will smash the text between the population history box and the ancestry box. So, I'm not seeing an excellent way to use the {{Stephens City Ancestry Box}} in the article. Specifically, the text of the article doesn't want to wrap around the table anyways. I apologize if I'm not responding in the proper way to your comment. I believe you'd prefer to have me continue the conversation where I saw your response. Unfortunately this is my first batch of edit requests and I'm unfamiliar with how it all works. I thought I would continue by writing you a message directly. I also apologize for making a second, essentially identical edit request to the Bubble Guppies Wikipedia article. I hadn't noticed your response when I made the second request.

To answer your question, yes, the compromised language you presented is factually accurate. But we at the show would strongly prefer that the article states that Bubble Guppies is an American show. All of the creative and executive decisions take place here in New York. There isn't much out there to prove this, but maybe you can give me some suggestions as to how I can cite this fact. I'm happy to provide whatever support I can to correct the above statement and several others that are inaccurate.

I'm sorry, but is it really ok to claim that you're going to be admin - especially when your nomination was fail already? Looking at the guy's record, he even got blocked once for Personal attacks or harassment. It's easy to confuse new Wikipedian and potential for abuse. L-Zwei (talk) 07:56, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Have you actually seen any new Wikipedian's who have been confused? Has it been abused? I don't see a problem with it, he's not claiming he is an admin, any more than the "would like to be one day" userboxen. hasty CSD tags

Hello. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know however, regarding Ajit Chandila, that tagging articles for speedy deletion moments after creation is too fast. In my opinion its always better to follow the message on top of Special:NewPages and give enough time to new page creators to add content, refs etc. cheers-- ÐℬigXЯaɣ 08:45, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

In my experience, the pages are not improved 90 percent of the time. The article clearly qualified for an A7 tag when I placed it. If an editor can't be troubled to make a page in their userspace (granted, not all editors understand how to do so even though there is always a link to do so when you begin to write a new page) then the quality of the article at creation all I have to go by. your so called 90% logic is pure wp:OR ;) I have seen a lot of articles getting improved specially in the few days after creation. this strategy of yours of tagging articles for deletion ASAP is surely unhelpful as it scares away new users , please see wp:BITE, adding CSD tags within a minute of article creation as was done in the case of Ajit Chandila surely brings your judgements regarding wp:NPP into question. I am fully aware of WP:BITE and I know what I'm doing here. I understand your point; however, there is nothing to state that your view of patrolling is any better than mine. You say that a CSD tag scares a new editor away, I say that a CSD tag gives the editor an incentive to improve their article. If you want an example of another article I tagged early on check out Peace Coffee. There was absolutely no reason for me not to tag the article; however, after the user told me it was under contruction I removed the tag and helped them move it to the userspace (where it should be). Hi Ryan, first of all thank you for your contributions. However I'd like to make 2 points. First, I understand your point of view and your example of Peace Coffee, but take into account that if the editor is new, it might not occur to him that he can contact you (or other people) for help. Second, I agree with BigXray that you should follow WP:BITE. Wikipedia is made between thousands of people, and we must all follow the guidelines, otherwise it'd be a mess. Of course you might not agree with a guideline (such as WP:BITE), but in that case, breaking the rules is not the way to go. What you should do is discuss it at the talk page of the said guideline, and seek consensus.
