feedback on Lenneke Ruhaak

Hi Safiel, Thanks for your feedback on the page I try to make.

My aunt, Lenneke Ruhaak, is unfortunately already dead. Most of her work is from the pre internet age. There is not much from her to find on the internet, but I can confirm with a Dutch internet site that she is dead and she was a sculptor. Maybe I can leave a description about her on the internet if it is backed up with this Dutch site. I'll leave it up to you. The expositions are not on the internet but I can leave those out. I also like to upload some photos of her art. I leave it up to your discretion.

Cheers, Simon — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simon.burgmans (talkcontribs) 11:45, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

In receipt of your comment.

For User:Safiel, Thanks for your comment. Since both of our opinions are for "Yulia", I was surprised by your comment. Usually a normal RFC would be a very wise approach. However, there was a 60,000 page count spike for this wikipage during the Olympic competition 2 days ago, with people typing in the name they see on the television screen "Yulia" and getting misdirected. Since the Olympic "singles" competition is starting in two or three days from now, my hope was to get the wikipage to have the correct page title "Yulia" before the expected 60,000 (or more) page count when that competition begins very shortly. I hope you can rethink your warning message, by changing or removing it, so that requested Admin can act promptly to retitle this page with the spelling used in the Olympics and WNBC. Otherwise, I would have agreed with you about a regular RFC, except for the Olympic competition taking place with a high expectation of a large spike in page counts for this page very shortly. LawrencePrincipe (talk) 03:35, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

  • I should note that there are redirects from all the alternate spellings. Regardless of which spelling a person uses, they will be redirected to the proper page. If possible, I prefer to use the consensus process, rather than making an abrupt move and triggering arguments. Safiel (talk) 03:41, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
  • I am posting agreement with your version of the spelling there. You are welcome to archive the admin request if you wish to. Looks like 3 support and 1 oppose at this point. LawrencePrincipe (talk) 13:55, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Speedily Delete Gutair resonator (sustainer)

I noticed you speedily deleted the article entered just before Guitar resonator (sustainer). Wanted to bring this one to your attention as well. I edit the Effects unit page, and this article has been deleted before for being a non-notable advertisement.--Atlantictire (talk) 20:29, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Ah, I see. Thanks for responding. I just found this: User talk:Xstring Xstring, who I guess now goes by Mpvibes, recreated the article and changed the name from Gutiar resonator to Guitar resonator (sustainer). invalid?

Hello, can you tell me how to better request deletion in this case? [1] I don't fully understand the complicated deletion processes and different places with all the templates on enwiki. I took the dbg1 from Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion#Reasons_for_deleting point 5 "The redirect makes no sense, such as redirecting Apple to Orange. (Speedy deletion criterion G1 may apply.)" Holger1959 (talk) 21:12, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

That user created another redirect Ancient and Noble Race of Vere today. Isn't it like Dangerous and wild big cat to lion, Young and good looking entertainer to person X, or Round and healthy fruit to apple? I know that keeping redirects is cheap, especially when they exist for some time already, but I can't imagine this is really wanted for newly created redirects. You seem to know all the different numbered deletion templates. Can you tell me which one I could use, and on exactly which help or guideline page it is? Yesterday I spend about 10 minutes to find the criterion that you told me later it is wrong. I feel a bit overextended by the confusing enwiki help pages (they are often long and difficult to understand. Yesterday I read two pages with sentences that tell the opposite of what is written on a third help page.) hope you can help. Holger1959 (talk) 21:56, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Poopoloral

Re: this edit: Poopoloral was deleted as a "soft deletion" after an AFD, which gave it the same status as a PROD. It was manually re-created without a WP:REFUND or WP:DRV and later history-merged with the deleted version. If it goes to AFD I'm going to recommend a forced-merger rather than deletion. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 04:57, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: User:RobynPrinceTalent/sandbox

Hello Safiel. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:RobynPrinceTalent/sandbox, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Wasn't requested by user. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 22:49, 17 May 2014 (UTC)

Solar Roadways

Your move of Solar Roadways to Solar Roads [2] (and then to Solar roads) was inappropriate. You should have known this would be a controversial move and thus should go through the RM process. You say it's blatantly promotional but articles about companies are fine. Maybe the content needs improvement, but that doesn't justify changing the title. An article about a company should be titled with the name of the company. If you think the generic concept of "solar roads" is also sufficiently notable to warrant having an article, then create it. But a unilateral move like this is entirely inappropriate. --В²C 23:15, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

It probably was. And I probably shouldn't of moved it. On the other, that whole fucking article reeks of the stench of self-promotion. It's spam and everybody knows it. The fact that it is getting so much attention when the company is conducting a fundraising "crowd sourcing" drive is painfully obvious to all. There is no greater interest in improving Wikipedia, just interest in channeling money to this company. I will admit that it was wrong to do that and I did that in the heat of anger. But I WON'T apologize to spammers. I will simply endeavor not to do the same mistake again. Safiel (talk) 23:23, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
I have moved this back to where it started, per Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_deletion#Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion.2FSolar_Roadways. To reduce confusion, please don't move it again until after the AfD is over. Thanks. -- RoySmith (talk) 02:43, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Simplemente María (2014 telenovela)

Hi, may I know because they want an empty item without information on wikipedia?. Or I can say that you should do, because that soap opera has not yet been confirmed and it seems wrong that wikipedia has an article with no information.--Damián (talk) 22:28, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

@Damián80: *Comment I don't support inclusion of the article. I removed PROD on a procedural ground only. Once an article has gone through the Articles for deletion process and is kept or the process ends with a no consensus, the article becomes ineligible for PROD. I would actually prefer deletion myself. But it doesn't look like it is going to happen at the present time. Safiel (talk) 22:36, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Then I can explain that should be done so that this article be deleted, because the article does not have a lot of information and is speculative.--Damián (talk) 22:53, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

User talk:Notwillywanka and User talk:Notwillywanka/delete

This user is attempting to make user talk page warnings disappear by moving the user talk to a subpage, which he then nominates repeatedly for deletion. This does not qualify as {{db-author}} as the user is not the sole contributor to the page. K7L (talk) 05:49, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

User:Safiel, I appreciate the attempt to move the page, but now the real talk page does not have the history. It's now only at the archive, which is an unheard of situation. No one will think to look there for the history. Please merge the history with the actual talk page. -- Brangifer (talk) 18:20, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
@BullRangifer: The history was already moved when Notwillywanka moved the page. I simply moved it again. Only an administrator can merge histories. Since I am not an administrator, I could not merge the history, so I did the only thing I could, by moving what is essentially an archive page to the standard location for an archive page, plus I put a link to it on the current talk page. But again, only an administrator is capable of undoing Notwillywanka's original move and merging the histories. Safiel (talk) 19:34, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
I understand. Thanks. -- Brangifer (talk) 19:36, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Apologies for incorrectly proposing the following entry for deletion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Sonja_Buholzer

LG Williams

Dear Safiel, clearly you should be not taken in by this repeated attempt at this latest attempt at vandalizing LG Williams.

Baronosuna is a sole purpose Vandal and Sockpuppet. In fact, the new and sole purpose user's name itself points directly to the ruse: "Baron Osuna" is the artist's friend and gallerist, Baron Osuna -- see Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/baron.osuna. Obviously, a gallerist would not delete information from a friend and associate; only someone with a vendetta would create such a blatant ruse.

Moreover, the fraudulent use of a living persons name in Wikipedia, unbeknownst to them and without their consent and authorization, should not go unpunished.

This page is under constant and repeated attempts at vandalism. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this vandal and how we can remove deletion from this page. --Xxxartxxx (talk) 16:17, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Mary Helen Clark

Hello. Can you please explain why you believe it "makes a credible assertion of notability"? She seems like a non-notable random missionary to me, but happy to take it to AFD to vote.Zigzig20s (talk) 02:52, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

@Zigzig20s: There is a very low barrier to overcome speedy deletion on Criteria A7 (notability). An article merely needs to make a credible assertion of notability. It does NOT necessarily have to meet the Wikipedia notability guidelines. There is enough in the article to overcome the speedy criteria A7 for notability. HOWEVER, I do feel the subject of the article may not satisfy the notability guidelines and if you want to Propose Deletion WP:PROD or nominate for deletion WP:AFD, I would have no problem at all. Safiel (talk) 03:09, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks; I have added a PROD tag. I may ask you to help me with the AFD tag otherwise (I know it's a cumbersome three-step process and not sure I have mastered it. But I think PROD should be sufficient with this article...).Zigzig20s (talk) 03:16, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
OK, someone has removed the prod. I still don't think she is notable (a random missionary, who cares?) and I still think it is advertising for a private library (possibly to attract more donors). (That wouldn't be a problem if she were indeed notable and had achieved something substantial...) Would you please create an AFD for it? I actually don't know how to do the three-step process; the explanations on Wikipedia are not very clear. Perhaps if you do it, I can look at your contribution history and finally figure it out this way. My objections were: A7. No indication of importance." (non-notable missionary) and "G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion." (advertisement for library collection). But we should just have a vote at this point. Let me know if you can help. Greetings Safiel and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I am posting this here just so you are informed of an important and strongly enforced policy. I do not allege any improper behavior. Best wishes and happy editing. Please see the Biographies of living persons policy. It clearly states, "All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be explicitly attributed to a reliable, published source, which is usually done with an inline citation. Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced – whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable – should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion." (Bolding in original.) Once content has been removed it is challenged. Unless attribution to a reliable, published source is provided it should not be restored. - - MrBill3 (talk) 22:21, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

@JohnCD: I have taken it to WP:RFD. My main concern is it is not used in the article and the article is a WP:BLP. In most other "Butcher of ..." cases, the subject is deceased. If they can come up with reliable sources, I will withdraw the RfD. Safiel (talk) 18:46, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
I have commented at the RfD. Do you know if the term was once in the article, and was removed by consensus, or was it never there? It is disturbing that a Google search for the term puts the WP article at the top: if the redirect is causing that, it's a good argument for deletion. I would have thought a search that found the redirect would display its title rather than that of the target; but that would mean the term has been in the article for Google to find. JohnCD (talk) 19:49, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
@JohnCD: Unfortunately, I do not know. There are literally thousands of edits to the article since April. Moreover, a search of the talk archives of the page reveals only one use of the word "butcher" and that is unrelated to the usage at question. I get the impression that if the term was ever in the article, it was not allowed to remain in the article for long. Safiel (talk) 20:15, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

Ludmila Isaeva

Can you be kind to find proper AfD template for this one: Ludmila Isaeva? Thanks--Mishae (talk) 04:28, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

@Mishae: I have gone ahead and placed a Proposed deletion template. Safiel (talk) 04:46, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. Surprisingly the ping reacted only now even though it said that you pinged me 12 minutes ago...--Mishae (talk) 05:00, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
By the way, I don't know if you know anything in modeling, but when it says closes fall [name of show] what does it mean? Does it mean cancelation or does it mean finishes last or something similar?--Mishae (talk) 05:03, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
Also, I have put a tag on this one and informed the author: Ranya Mordanova pretty much same reason. There is one source which is also used as an external link. And all other ones are external links. What I need from you here is to adjust a timestamp. Many thanks colleague.--Mishae (talk) 05:11, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

Amen!

My thoughts exactly: [5]. Cheers. Champaign Supernova (talk) 06:49, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Adamantine

Hi Safiel,

You said on the RfD for Adamantine, Minas Gerais that: "An assertion has been made that the redirect is an alternate spelling/pronunciation of the name of the target municipality". I don't know if you meant that I made that assertion, but if so it wasn't what I meant to say at all. The reason for my speedy delete request is that I do not believe that Adamantine is ever, or was ever, used as an alternative name for the town of Diamantina. I can find no reference (other than mirrors of the wiki) that suggests this. Adamantine is one translation into english of the word diamantina and I expect this is how it came about that this was created but that isn't appropriate for a proper noun of course. Proposed deletion of Arthur L. Hammond

Thanks for catching both those CSD A7. The IP 207.136.250.183 having tried twice they'll probably be back. Could you watchlist the stub please. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:28, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Stop requesting speedy deletion of the page Mark Burnett (producer). You clearly have no knowledge on the subject so leave it for people who do to add information. Makro (talk) 15:11, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

Please stop contesting my speedy delete

Safiel-- Please undo you contest of Alex Boulanger. I know you are trying to be helpful, but you are not.

I am "author1965" and no longer have access to that account and had to create "fortrade". "Mr. Bill3" has been helpful in helping me to delete Monte Boulanger and Alex Boulanger.

Thanks! Monte — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fortrade59 (talkcontribs) 22:31, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

AFD List of interracial romance films

Which part of Speedy Keep did you use to justify your non-admin closure? If you used SK #1, you're wrong -- there's nothing there that says the rationale for deletion needs to be "valid", and the nominator did advance a rationale, weak though it is. I just looked at that article again and it seems to me that reasonable people could argue it should be deleted. I would appreciate it if you would either 1) identify your SK rationale in your close so it can be evaluated, or 2) reopen the AFD. Thanks. Townlake (talk) 18:33, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Țurlui River

On the maps of the area, the river is mentioned as Turlui River, not Țurlui River. I made the corresponding correction. Reverting to the Țurlui name maintains an error I corrected. Again, the correct name of the river is Turlui, without a diacritic. I see no reason for keeping an incorrect name. Afil (talk) 22:59, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

@Afil: I will go ahead and redirect the diacritical spelling to the non-diacritical spelling. The diacritical spelling needs at least to be retained as a redirect, since that spelling exists in a number of sources. Safiel (talk) 23:14, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Repeat AfD nominee

You previously voiced an opinion on an AfD discussion on an article. It was subsequently moved to user space and made it to main space. It has been nominated for deletion again: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cantata++ (3rd nomination). If you are interested in weighing-in, it would be helpful to know if you see any improvement in the article and it currently meets WP:GNG. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:03, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

Explain for non deletion for Record Union

Hi can you explain why G11 stops it from being deleted using the speedy deletion process? From what I can see it perfectly matches the criteria of being promotional only. There are no sources showing the notability of the page.77.56.33.31 (talk) 17:09, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

Update: I have proposed its deletion but it would be good to understand the reasoning anyway so that the page is stuck in a limbo.77.56.33.31 (talk) 17:29, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
