Proposed deletion of 24 Hour News Source

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article 24 Hour News Source, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

This is complete original research.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Your recent AIV report

Hello.

Please don't report other users to WP:AIV quite so quickly when they make good faith, but misguided contributions. Your note to Missionman1998 was excellent, and despite the fact that he didn't heed it, blocking is a bit premature. I'd encourage you to try to communicate with him some more. This can be a confusing place to start with and we don't want to bite our newbies. :)

German submarine U-132

Hi, I'm just dropping you a line to let you know that I have closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/German submarine U-132 early as articles have now been created for all three of the links on the disambiguation page and it did not seem worthwhile to let the discussion continue. Kind regards, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 21:53, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:OvernightOutlook.png)

Thanks for uploading File:OvernightOutlook.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:12, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Problems with Spammer on Weather Star 4000

{{helpme}}

Hello, I see that you are a Wikipedian who patrols the articles of the WeatherStar units. I am having a little trouble with a bot that keeps taking away the info that I have put on about the Weather Star 4000 on Chincoteague, Virginia. If you can help me keep the info on the page, the user User:KenoshaTWCFan is the one who is reverting the edits and he has built a bot that prevents me from putting the information back. Thanks. --TWCZach 18:53, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Samir Seif (martial artist)

A tag has been placed on Samir Seif (martial artist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. You should not be closing AfDs you opened, especially when it hasn't been seven days since they were opened. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 04:46, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Although your closes are probably correct, they really need seven days to continue unless they're a WP:SNOW close, which I don't see yet, but you should never close them if you start them. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 04:49, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Merge of articles

It looks like these two articles on the same topic (Riverside Elementary School District and Riverside Elementary School District (Arizona) may have been forked off each other at some point. The one that says (Arizona) seems to be the better article, as it has an infobox, but the two articles are otherwise virtually identical. I do not want to destroy edit history, so what should happen? Raymie (tc) 22:33, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

The two articles can be merged per WP:MERGE. I can go through and do it, if you like, and you can see what I've done as an example of how to do it in the future. Just FYI, the one without (Arizona) is the preferable title, so I will move the better article to that. GorillaWarfare talk 22:37, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello. You have a new message at GorillaWarfare's talk page.

Your COI question

I would advise you to go ahead and fix the page you were asking about — just be sure to maintain NPOV. It's also a nice touch to mention your affiliation on the talk page. COI writing isn't strictly banned, in my understanding, but rather it is discouraged and potential COI editors should be very sure to stick to the straight and narrow and ought to identify their potential biases. Happy Wikibirthday, by the way... Carrite (talk) 05:43, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

School articles

Hi Raymie, good work creating new articles for schools. Could you also place {{WPSchools}} with the parameter of |class=stub on the talk page of the article that you create. It helps out editors at Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools. Thanks, →GƒoleyFour (GSV) 06:42, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

I second that. Actually, importance should be specified, especially since in many cases it is obviously |importance=low.

Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School

Hello, Can you please explain why this is a G11? It looks to me like an inexperienced new user barraged by four speedies within 20 minutes. Am I missing something? Cullen328 (talk) 16:51, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

It was actually completely lifted from the main section of their official site at first. I put the original G11 speedy after finding the article in a maintenance category and seeing the "our", etc. He removed the speedy and eventually blanked the page, which I took as a G7 deletion and marked for speedy once more, which it qualified for. Raymie (tc) 17:09, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Were there any communications with the user explaining copyright issues? Was a paraphrase suggested as an alternative to cut and paste? If you are too busy to do so, I will be happy to greet and assist the new user. I no longer have the user name. Please advise. Cullen328 (talk) 18:11, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
I used Twinkle, so it gave a G11 generic speedy notice to User:Misterman694. At the time I did not realize it was a copyvio. Raymie (tc) 18:21, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Jargon help

In a recent deletion discussion, you said "A previous G12 failed because the SPA that created the article took out the tag." As an experienced editor, I get the flavor of this jargon, but I don't know what SPA stands for, and the disambiguation page for SPA doesn't seem to include it. Please help me out as I continue to make Wikipedia jargon understandable to experienced editors, if not for the newbies.--DThomsen8 (talk) 13:13, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

SPA means single-purpose account, an account with few or no edits outside the topic in question. It was recently added to the mainspace SPA page as an "On Wikipedia" item. Raymie (tc) 18:34, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for the explanation. I do know users like that, only on Wikipedia to promote some specific band, company, or narrow viewpoint. --DThomsen8 (talk) 20:30, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Higley criticism

Should I just gut the very un-NPOV criticism section of the article on the Higley Unified School District? It has the bulk of the references but also the bulk of the problems with the article especially after writing a new history of the district. Raymie (tc) 04:01, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

I suggest WP:BRD (which, really, means "gods, yeah; do it per bold" - if people complain, then discuss it with them) - I'm leaving the 'helpme' in place, as other people may have different opinions; :this is, as always, IMHO. Chzz  ►  05:04, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, it's not really policy to gut referenced sections without rewriting them (in other words, write a rewrite, then just past it into that section -- don't delete it and then let it sit around blank for a while until you're done putting together a rewrite). That being said, that particular section did seem to have some BLP problems, so I rewrote it a bit and deleted things that said some touchy things but whose references weren't still good. That section still needs a good deal of rewriting. If you'd like any further help, contact me on my user talk page or put a {{help me}} template up on your own user talk page and someone will be along to help you. :) Banaticus (talk) 07:32, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Casa Grande Union

Advice: Casa Grande Union High School both covers the modern high school and an NRHP-listed building that used to be the school.

Both are at different locations, and I'm concerned that the coordinate and location conflict that results is undesirable. The article is otherwise pretty nice, but I don't know if the coordinates are an issue. The coordinates currently in there are of the old building. Don't expect a reply from me: I'm going to bed for the night. Raymie (tc) 05:18, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Maybe if the building has enough content then split it into an own separate article... mabdul 10:21, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

A bit of a shame that the article on Leslie Urdang sat idle for so very long. I just spent some few hours removing some of the unsourcable fluff and improving it overall.[1] I ask that you might take a look to see if your major concerns have been addressed.

I feel it can be now be argued that she meets WP:ENT, WP:CREATIVE, WP:ANYBIO, WP:GNG and through them, WP:PEOPLE. I hope you might agree. Best, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 06:02, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
