Your comments to ZeroGiga

The comments you made here to User:ZeroGiga were grossly uncivil and inappropriate. You cannot mandate that a user stop AfDs in the absence of credible evidence that such actions are in violation of WP:POINT or similar, which is definitely not the case. I highly recommend that you remove your stated threat, which shows practically no assumption of good faith on your part. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 22:49, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Red Sector Incorporated

Hello I was wondering if the username was flagged as promotional (changed it to Baudsurfer), or the "incorporated" suffix was inappropriate (alas it is historical BBS/early computing issues, not real registered trademark), also disabled editing with Tor, and modified External link for CSDb. The article has many references. It all dates back to 1985, nobody ever registered a trademark.

Thanks for uploading Image:KWBP-97.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:KBEH63Tr3s.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:KBEH63Tr3s.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:07, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Weather Star 4000

{{helpme}} I swapped WeatherStar 4000 and Weather Star 4000. How would I go about maintaining a redirect but keeping the page histories?

Unfortunately, the way you did it, I now need to delete the new page to merge the histories together. In the future, please simply use the "move" tab at the top of the page - this allows you to rename an article, moving the entire history to the new title. You can find more information at WP:MOVE. I'm glad that you nominated me for adminship, but it would've been better to ask me first. I'm not currently seeking adminship, and I don't plan to until August '09. Thanks anyway. Reese Williams and Bianca Montgomery

Thank you for withdrawing the deletion nomination of this article. I was just about to ask you if you would reconsider the deletion nomination of it, since it had proven its notability and had been drastically improved. Just so you know, though, I've improved it even further just now.

Anyway, thanks again. I'll see you around. Flyer22 (talk) 06:13, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Also, you closed the debate as this couple being the first lesbian couple in an American soap opera. They actually are not; that was Lena Kundera and Bianca Montgomery. But you were close enough. LOL. I hope you don't feel that I'm being a pest by stating that. I just found it a little funny, and it reminded me that not everyone is familiar with these specifics topics.
Oh, and should you post the deletion debate archive on the Reese Williams and Bianca Montgomery article talk page? Or is that not needed since your nomination was withdrawn?
Whatever the case, thanks again.
Peace. Flyer22 (talk) 07:55, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Err, with the significant number of "delete" votes, a non-admin closure/withdrawal is not appropriate. You might want to re-think this - I'd rather not be the one that re-opens it as it would be a bit of a slap in the face to you. -t BMW c- 11:57, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Honestly, I still see no notability. A lesbian couple on TV *yawn* .. nothing new to see. Size of the article doesn't matter - is it important enough to have a separate article, or can it be dealt with inside a character's article? -t BMW c- 21:51, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

The Weather Channel and The Weather Channel (United States)

{{adminhelp}}

There's a mess here with duplication of content. We need to merge this back into one article, but the page history issues require me to call on an admin.

The Weather Channel used to be a disambiguation page, but someone moved the US article there and kept it at its original location. Raymie Humbert (local radar | current conditions) 20:54, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of FarmersOnly.com

A tag has been placed on FarmersOnly.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. -Zeus- [t|c] 15:03, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of File:WeekendView2008.png

Notice: I did this deletion on my own, as another file had been uploaded to replace it - Raymie

A tag has been placed on File:WeekendView2008.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:File:WeekendView2008.png|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:32, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Humble Independent Schools

  • The table looks great, and I'd recommend it as a model for other school system articles to follow. I was hoping that the info about the feeder system would be carried over, and that a way would be found to fit in the mascots and school colors as well (my only nitpick is that I'd go with the plural, e.g. Tigers instead of Tiger). You've got a knack for design, Tracker-- as I say, I'd cite that as an example of how a school district article should look. Mandsford 00:59, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Treasures of the Snow

Hello Raymie. I tried to improve Treasures of the Snow that you flagged as AfD – thanks for AfDing it instead of A7ing – as you say, to give someone a chance to rescue it. What do you reckon? Is what I've done sufficient to rescue it? Cheers — Hebrides (talk) 19:16, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello again. I had a go at a plot summary (a lot harder to write than I imagined), and although it may be a bit rough around the edges I thought I'd better upload it as the AfD deadline is approaching. This is not the sort of article I normally write, so I looked at articles like The Wind in the Willows and Treasure Island to get some idea of the amount of detail that is expected. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Best regards — Hebrides (talk) 18:11, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

JoAnne H. Favors

Given that (a) an article on JoAnne Favors already exists, and (b) she does qualify per WP:POLITICIANS as generally notable (she is a sitting menber of a state legislature), it would probably be good of you to withdraw the nomination so we can go ahead and redirect the article to the preexisting page. In the future, please do a little more research on the subjects before submitting them for AFD - it would save everyone a lot of extra work to clean up the mess. What's the best parenthetical?

{{helpme}}

I want to add a parenthetical title to Holbrook High School and make the existing site a disambiguation page (for my new article Holbrook High School (Arizona). What would be the best parenthetical piece to add...Suffolk? Ipswich? Raymie (tc) 02:57, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

I would imagine Suffolk as the better choice, but I don't think it's a major deal. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 03:00, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

(edit conflict)

I can only find evidence of one school of that name in England, therefore I suggest Holbrook High School (England) is both sufficient for disambiguation, and clear to most (international) readers. If there were more than one, I'd say Holbrook High School (Ipswich) instead, but I think that is unnecessary, because e.g. the BBC educational rankings tables only show the one with that name. I think "England" is best. It's a judgement call though.
I don't quite like the suggestion above of 'Suffolk', simply because we'd not really use the region name with a school in that way - what I mean is, we'd say "Foo school in Ipswich" and not "Foo school in Suffolk". But, for whatever odd reason, I'd find "Foo school in England" to be more natural. For what it's worth, I'm English.  Chzz  ►  03:05, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Might be a good idea to add this to the talk page of the article btw. I'd have argued Suffolk, but then I live here. Or Ipswich. I've also fixed the few disamb issues that resulted, in particular the schools in Suffolk template. Might be worth being aware of such relationships if you have to do a similar thing in the future. :-) OK? Blue Square Thing (talk) 21:09, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Two-campus infobox?

I've created another new article, Gilbert Christian Schools. The school chain in question has two campuses, and I want the infobox to have the capability to show both. Is it possible to create a fork of Template:Infobox school or to add the capability to display two campus sites in the infobox? Raymie (tc) 01:01, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

You'll need to use two infoboxes or combine the info into one infobox (i.e. Principal: Person 1 (middle school); Person 2 (high school), etc.). /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 01:13, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
Also, please note that articles need to show notability, and must have appropriate reliable sources, otherwise they are likely to be deleted. See WP:YFA.  Chzz  ►  01:14, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Soft redirect

I created a new article at Coconino Association for Vocations, Industry and Technology and a soft redirect at CAVIAT (since it could be mistaken for "caviar" or "caveat"). Is the procedure for the soft redirect correct? I did not want a hard redirect to throw people out into the proverbial boondocks. Raymie (tc) 18:36, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Raymie! We apreciate your efforts to make Wikipedia better, and so, love to assist our users to do so. I advise making a regular redirect, because of the soft redirect guideline which says:

A soft redirect is a very short page that essentially tells users to look at another site to obtain the information they were seeking.

About "throwing people off", you could use {{selfref}} or {{two other uses}} at the top of the page to inform them.  Hazard-SJ    19:02, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

St. David schools

I am looking for assistance in sorting out what must be a great mess.

There are a bunch of interconnected pages with title St. David's High School or similar. Worse yet, I want to ADD an article about an Arizona school, and the current situation does not help me.

There are even more at St. David's School not linked from disambiguation page St Davids High School. St. David's High School also exists as an article, but it's about the same subject as SMK Tinggi St David (which requires a merge). To make it more complicated, I have a St. David High School in Arizona that I want to write about. I also want to merge all the disambiguation pages to make navigation here much easier.

I need someone who can work with me on this mammoth project that requires assistance from preferably an administrator (the merge) and/or at least an experienced editor.

If you can do this, I will be very appreciative, and so will other Wikipedia readers trying to sort out the current mess of messes.

Raymie (tc) 19:09, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Please make the new article at St. David High School, Arizona. That will solve the problem for now. We can take care of the other issues. Thank you...  JoeGazz  ▲  19:31, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Cibecue Community School

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Cibecue Community School, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.classmates.com/directory/school/Cibecue%20Community%20School?org=22140821.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Mural

My read is that you need to get permission from the copyright holder. I don't think this would qualify for a fair-use exception on Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Non-free content) and it clearly can't go on Commons without a free licanse.Dankarl (talk) 13:13, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

AfD comment

Could I ask you to have a look at what I said here? I think your comment there was unnecessary, and I am asking you as a show of good faith to please consider retracting it (using strike-out tags: <s></s>). Whatever else you may think of Colonel Warden, I don't think this nomination is an example of the sort of behaviour you think you have seen elsewhere, and your raising this is not helpful here. Thank-you. Much appreciated. Carcharoth (talk) 18:21, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Colorado City

Do you have any plans to go to or be around Colorado City?

I posted a photo request for the El Capitan School - 255 North Cottonwood Street Colorado City, Arizona, 86021 United States - If you can do it, or know someone who can, please let me know WhisperToMe (talk) 23:21, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! I'm trying to find people in Arizona who are willing to take photos. Perhaps if we locate some users we can make a list of requests and rack up more photos WhisperToMe (talk) 00:25, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Rollback

Don't you think it is a good idea that you put in a request for rollback permissions. It would be most useful considering the vandalism situation going on at that article you have contributed so much to. Also you may want to downgrade your request at WP:RFPP to semi-protection not full-protection. mauchoeagle (c) 00:04, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

I use Twinkle. I am not one of the 5800 or so rollbackers on WP. Raymie (tc) 01:51, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
No, I meant that I think you shoul become a rollbacker. You have a lot of experience. As far as I can see you wont abuse the tool. mauchoeagle (c) 01:56, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Kingsclere CE Primary School

It appears Twinkle broke while you were trying to AfD Kingsclere CE Primary School. I have completed steps 1 and 2 for you and guessed at a rationale; you might want to fill in a more detailed rationale. The discussion is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kingsclere CE Primary School. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:41, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Arizona

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Arizona, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 22:51, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Inherent notability for elementary schools which have been "Blue Ribbon Schools"

I am contacting you because you participated in either the AFD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kennedy Middle School (Cupertino, California) which resulted in a redirect or the deletion review Wikipedia:Deletion review#Kennedy Middle School (Cupertino, California) which resulted in restoration of the article because it was once a "Blue Ribbon School". I have opened a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Notability (organizations and companies)#US elementary schools: Inherent notability: for "Blue Ribbon Schools" as to whether the 5200 schools which have been found awarded the "Blue Ribbon" seal of approval get inherent notability, or if they each have to satisfy WP:ORG via significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources. Your input is welcome. Thanks! Edison (talk) 19:29, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for making it an RFC. I wasn't sure whether it would add another thread rather than making the present thread into an RFC. Edison (talk) 04:21, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited Cibecue, Arizona, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cowboys and Aliens (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Inravisión move

Move Instituto Nacional de Radio y Televisión to Inravisión, which is currently a redirect to that page. For my rationale on reversing the move made at the end of 2008, see Wikipedia:Help desk#Naming conventions for Colombian government agency with very commonly used acronym. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Gilbert High School, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MLS (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
