TBAN appeal
Hi Sandstein, I want to ask you to lift and cancel my TBAN. During this period of time I've contributed to some very good articles and created some quality ones. I can say I am really an experienced Wikipedian and I can assure you no past mistakes will take place anymore. My current TBAN though stops me to create many good Georgian articles because many of them have some kind of Armenian relations as well because of Georgian-Armenian relations are huge and deep and they count several millennias. I recognize my past mistakes of editwarring and being a bit non-cooperative with Armenian Wikipedians which I no more will be like if you give me a chance again by lifting my current TBAN. I will engage with Armenian users and will cooperate in a calm manner in the interests of English wikipedia. I believe having a Georgian wikipedian like me also would greatly contribute as well. I by all means learned on my mistakes and I am ready to get back. I recognize all my past mistakes and now I am more aware how interacting with everyone is important. I will be cooperative and open for the common good of this great encyclopedia which we all love and contribute. Thanks Sandstein and hope you'll give me another chance which I definitely won't screw it up again. Jaqeli 12:20, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- OK, if the ban is lifted, which articles specifically do you intend to edit, and how? And can you explain this edit? It replaced an article with a bare list of links, which looks at best like very incompetent editing. Sandstein 17:24, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- I've much contributed to many Georgia-related articles, whether it's about history, historical personalities etc. basically everything Georgia-related. As for Georgian inscriptions, I'm going to work on them and I've listed some of them in order to create a new articles as it was messy before and was only about Abkhazia-located Georgian inscriptions and many more should be added to the list which abound. Jaqeli 17:46, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- It was messy before? Sorry, but the state it is in now after your edit is a mess, a bare list of things with no lead, no context, nothing. The previous version at least looked like an article, with a lead, an image and an external link. Based on this, I don't trust you to edit competently in a controversial topic area, and you haven't answered my question as to which specific article you would like to edit, and how. Your request to lift the topic ban is declined. Sandstein 19:40, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- Based on what? I've told you I am going to continue contribute and edit on Georgia-related articles. On Georgian inscriptions I've made a list to work on those red-lined articles as it is listed in Georgian Wikipedia version of this page. I have more than 20,000 edits, I am an experienced user registered back in 2011, I've made many contibutions to English Wikipedia, I've made Good Articles, written many articles, expanded many etc. I have years of experience on English Wikipedia and I deserve a second chance because many Georgian articles can have some marginal Armenian connections and I don't want that to stop me in my contribution. There can be new infos, pictures, charts, maps, etc. that can be added and because of my TBAN I cannot do so. I am asking you for a last chance and if I screw up again you can block me forever and I will quit Wikipedia forever. I promise I will work with Armenian users and will be cooperative in every way possible. Right now because of my TBAN I cannot work any Georgian article because many have Armenian connections for historical reasons as we are long-time neighbors. There's many I can do to contribute as I've done in the past. Please I am asking for a last chance Sandstein. Jaqeli 11:18, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- No, based on the reasons mentioned above. Also, you already had your last chance before I reinstated the ban. Sandstein 17:59, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- Please see this. Jaqeli 07:19, 7 March 2015 (UTC)

You're being discussed
Not that it's vital, but you should know that an editor with whom you had some interaction years ago has been discussing you in unflattering term, which raised outing concerns as it was not clear whom he was talking about (he slightly misremembered your user name.) Discussion of the outing concern is at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Possible_attempt_to_out_an_administrator; the original comments, from which not-quite-your-name has been redacted, are at Talk:Same-sex_marriage_in_the_United_States#Alabama_Supreme_Court_orders_marriages_to_stop. --Nat Gertler (talk) 01:36, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

capital or not
many thanks for your revert to Bern, sandstein! i doubt that wikipedia should invent things which are cannot be supported through facts. if the country would have loved to have a capital city it would have designated one to be it. but it had the discussion, and decided explicitely against it. nonetheless there are national bodies which need to have a place to be. they are distributed around switzerland. two universities are in zürich and lausanne, national courts are in other cities, etc. there was critics on the mobile mailing list that the introductory paragraph is bad and does not display the important information first. so lets state facts and get the important information into it, not a discussion if it is a real, de facto, or not capital. --ThurnerRupert (talk) 06:58, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Sandstein, I noticed your edit and thought this This user tries to leave Wikipedia, but finds that they can't do so… (as Flyer22 states on his userpage) might be a very, very good example for non-native English-speaking readers/editors. Lotje (talk) 05:10, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- I don't understand what you are trying to say by that. Sandstein 05:12, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

- Ah, yes, I suppose it might, but any additional changes to the MOS should be discussed on the talk page first.. Sandstein 06:50, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

Jaqeli's appeal at AE
Please see Jaqeli's recent update to his own statement. He has listed four articles he would like to work on, including Georgian scripts. Can you reply at AE as to whether this is reasonable? I see there is a potential issue regarding the origin of the Georgian alphabet, as noted by User:Richwales. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 18:05, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- OK, I've replied there. Sandstein 21:25, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
Game of Thrones
Hey Sandstein, I know we haven't exactly been seeing eye to eye on the Game of Thrones article, but I wanted to thank you for being WP:CIVIL with me as an inexperienced editor.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I went ahead and reversed this edit of yours: [2]. I think it's too soon to make such a claim. I started a discussion about it on the talk page here, explaining my reasoning, if you'd like to discuss it with me: Talk:Game_of_Thrones#Omitting_of_characters_line. ― Padenton |☎ 22:12, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
DYK for The Goblin Emperor
On 21 March 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Goblin Emperor, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison has been lauded for successfully joining high fantasy and steampunk? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Goblin Emperor. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Sandstein, Subsequent to your decision, I had searched for published sources on the topic and I was able to locate several which establish notability (By Wikipedia definition the person should have been awarded, there should be secondary sources for reference and the person's work should be in existence: All 3 of these conditions are met : The 1st condition viz. Award of Rao Bahadur - this was one of the National awards conferred by Govt. of India in the 1940s, The 2nd Condition viz. Secondary sources are mentioned below and the 3rd Condition viz Existence of The Madras Aerodrome, Dowleshwaram Barrage road/rail bridge, Annamalai University Faculty of Engg. all continue to be in existence and provide good service to the citizens of India therefore I would request you to please help to restore Articles for deletion//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puttana_Venkatramana_Raju.
You would recall the above-mentioned article, Please go through the links (1), (2) and (3) below. Attachments for you to go through and see for yourself the veracity of notability. Given below are a few published proofs which are even available on the internet for your reference which should help in establishing notability. I look forward to your advice and help in restoring the article. Thanks.

- Hi, concerning Puttana Venkatramana Raju (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Puttana Venkatramana Raju: The result of the discussion was that "this would need a full rewrite even should the subject be notable after all". I recommend that you first create a draft version that takes the concerns voiced in the discussion into account, at User:Rajendrarajun/Puttana Venkatramana Raju. Sandstein 08:50, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
Sandstein, Thank you for your quick revert, Yes - I will commence work on a fresh draft which takes into account concerns voiced earlier. Rajendrarajun (talk) 05:20, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
