  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:25, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Timtrent Jeraxmoira is really being unkind to me he reject almost everything I mention. he thinks Pakistani sources will be same as western one.
my source says he was born on 1896 to 1938 Oct 13.
which can be 42 to 43 nearly. After giving every source he still reject them now there was somewhere in a mention that he died at the age of 45. but uts common here to say 42 person died as died at nearly 45 age🙂 SaneFlint (talk) 11:48, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think you need, for the moment, to ride with the punches. The primary concern now is that the article is kept. Getting into an argument about dates is not going to help.
Your job is to ignore any "rocks" hurled in your direction, and to build the wall of verified notability with excellent references 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:05, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent because of this. the issue last editor updated article notice as Unreliable sources 🙂 they should have left it for Community reviewers to notice and object . even one of the community editor said that to last editor- he can't expect Pakistani sources to be same as western one SaneFlint (talk) 12:15, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@SaneFlint I'm afraid that is the way of Wikipedia. Anyone may make an edit they feel is justified at any time. It might be 'cause and effect' or it might be pure coincidence. There are no reviewers any more. That role only applied in Draft: space. Once it was accepted it became just another article.
The hard thing for you is that you are passionate and very involved in what was your draft in a way (but see WP:OWN), and is now Wikipedia's article. Please ignore anything that you think affects you personally. No-one can stop it from hurting except you, yourself.
All you can do is to find and use better references. I don't mean 'more', I mean 'better'. If the reference you find is better that the existing ine, consider replacing it. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:22, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent thanks. I understand I will do my best. appreciate your stance like always. SaneFlint (talk) 12:31, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia seems simple at first. In reality it is a very hard place to work. It is unforgiving. It can feel very hostile.
It is not meant to be difficult, nor unforgiving, nor hostile, but it is made up of people. People have all sorts of faults. You do, I do, everyone else does.
The trick to surviving here and enjoying the place is to know what it is. We also need to know how to accept advice from others, and how to disagree well. We must never become stressed. We must never become so close to our own work that changes to it upset us.
In our real lives this affects us, too. We become better at life as we become better at Wikipedia. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:44, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Yes that's what we have to. I'm getting to know Wikipedia more and more closely and better day by day its a nice place with nice people among them I found you who is a nicest and kindest on soul on Wikipedia. I hope and wish to contribute and expend the great Wikipedia community to other sides who knows less about it :) SaneFlint (talk) 13:22, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent main thing is to control on emotion. and aim to fix things that's best. sometimes it can be done with better explanation and work being done  :) SaneFlint (talk) 13:24, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent can you give them some guidance and ideas to sort this matter. in a easy way that will help all of us 🙏🏻 SaneFlint (talk) 15:54, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think I, and you, have done all we can on date/age of death. Sometimes it is best to drop the ball. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:09, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

finally I'm able to set some ref lines because I'm handling it finally with Wikipedia application which is way easier than typical browser. but still I think I'll need your assistance SaneFlint (talk) 22:24, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong senior can you look at my article its been modified more properly. really looking forward to your assistance SaneFlint (talk) 08:14, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry but your draft doesn't show how the person passes the notability guidelines and much of the prose is inappropriate in tone for an encyclopaedia and sets out to praise the subject, articles need to be written in a dry neutral tone. Theroadislong (talk) 08:30, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong He was the influential notability from Sind. very famous one. I'll try to fix some lines I'm doing my best to write according to your words SaneFlint (talk) 08:32, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
your assistance to fix articles and lines will be appreciated 🙂 SaneFlint (talk) 08:34, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
"was the influential notability from Sind" makes no sense. Have you actually read WP:GNG? Theroadislong (talk) 08:51, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong yes I've read it. I'm following all things. my article is about an scholar and movement of Khilafat sind SaneFlint (talk) 09:05, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong I think I mean Notable personality from Sind. it wasn't just personality but man who contributed and led khilafat movement with his father who founded Sind khilafat Committee. his contributions to religious leadership is very deep and important for millions of people in Sind 🙂
I really hope you can help me fix my written article. as you said to make it neutral I'm following your words and I need your assistance to fix / article make it way more neutral. thanks alot. this means alot to my work as it took me over 3 days to write things SaneFlint (talk) 09:42, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong Pir of Pagaro and Pir of Jhando both were brothers then its descedents expended its line of ancestors. their contribution against British Raj and religious contributions are enormous. my aim is to keep records of people whose details may vanish anyone from pre 19 century deserves its place. also as he's revered by millions of disciples in Sind SaneFlint (talk) 08:52, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I wanted to let you know that in your recent contributions to Sayyid Ihsanullah Shah Rashdi ‎, you seemed to act as if you were the owner of the page. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. This means that editors do not own articles, including ones they create, and should respect the work of their fellow contributors. If you create or edit an article, remember that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. It is tiring and frustrating to other, more experienced, editors who are trying to help you if you re-add content that they advised doesn't belong in the article, or if you ignore the comments made in their edit summaries about why certain words should be deleted and re-insert them. We are all volunteers here and trying to help, but you need to help yourself. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:13, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Curb Safe Charmer hi that's my page. I made it without logging the account. and thank you for your help and contribution which is highly appreciated SaneFlint (talk) 09:14, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
No SaneFlint, it is not your page. That was my point. When you edit you donate everything you wrote to Wikipedia. It becomes Wikipedia's page. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:17, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Sayyid Ihsanullah Shah Rashdi‎ did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:27, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi SaneFlint! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Sayyid Ihsanullah Shah Rashdi that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 20:37, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Theroadislong Thanks for the reminder bro. appreciate it I will next time do with a proper writing in a box. SaneFlint (talk) 20:40, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

I attempted to fix some of the citations in your draft, including a duplicated citation that somehow ended up in plain text. Also, make sure your topic is notable and is actually worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia. Also I would advise you to read WP:REFB for guidance about citations. Do you want me to take a fair look at your draft and do some cleanup? I may also remove unreliable sources and add the "need citation" tag. Let me know if you are okay with it. Jeraxmoira (talk) 17:22, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Jeraxmoira I'm soo tired It took me over three days to write up things with the references. I don't know which source is unreliable as I have put references/ citations on every info I put which is 100% genuine 🥲
can you tell me which things are not good in your view. how about you make some changes + just to write things properly in your way? I mean correcting them?) SaneFlint (talk) 17:48, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Jeraxmoira for me article looks 100% perfect
but you can raise objections on which side you think is unreliable or maybe ask me to provide you any information you want. your help means alot to me SaneFlint (talk) 17:52, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

actually these were written by some prominent professors of Sind University. SaneFlint (talk) 19:20, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
There is no way to verify your claims. Anyone can create a website and post content. 3 websites out of the 6 above are also poorly built with template leftovers which is not helping in this case. Jeraxmoira (talk) 19:29, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Jeraxmoira Yes but see when they posted its way back to 2017 to 2014 SaneFlint (talk) 19:36, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't think it matters when they posted it. See WP:QUESTIONABLE and WP:RSSELF Jeraxmoira (talk) 19:42, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Jeraxmoira there are more then 10 websites even more. many of them belongs to prominent universities and prominent researchers. everything is dome with 100% genuine sources. plus pardon for any errors as English is my second language:) SaneFlint (talk) 19:53, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sufi Saints and State Power: The Pirs of Sind, 1843-1947 - Sarah F. D. Ansari book is very prominent and known. this book is all about these Pirs of Sind:) SaneFlint (talk) 19:52, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Proceed to use the book but not the other 6 websites. To sum up, I don't think your article will get approved unless you address these concerns as well as the 40% copyvio issue. The 100% genuine sources are supposed to be verifiable by other editors to approve your article. In this case, I don't think they will be able to do that. Jeraxmoira (talk) 19:59, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Jeraxmoira I have his books in my hand. how I can show books pictures also? SaneFlint (talk) 20:06, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Jeraxmoira in reference area there are over 15 Links. All cites same information. plus some links are doubling, probably needs to be cleaned. SaneFlint (talk) 20:17, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Jeraxmoira The 13 links are excellent examples of citing and proving my information :( I don't think there is any fair reason to deny all of these references. Check out the those websites that post informations there is a huge gap Like 5 to 7 years on every article link ive posted as reference. More than that. Here they are publishing books in urdu and sindhi. Earlier wikipedia urdu also approved the information. Everything is real and I ask you guys for help. Hoping to ;) My second language is english not all sources and things are easy to find. But I am happy to provide things and answer Thanks SaneFlint (talk) 20:28, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Can you check WP:THREE and list your three best sources here? And mention which particular guideline he fulfills (Example: WP:NBIO, WP:GNG, WP:ARTIST,WP:AUTHOR etc) Jeraxmoira (talk) 21:18, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Jeraxmoira Hi. you mean I should post 3 sources here which meets its following requirements you mentioned? SaneFlint (talk) 21:25, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yes, share 3 of your best sources here that meets WP:RS, WP:SIGCOV or WP:SNG. Jeraxmoira (talk) 21:58, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Jeraxmoira That meets All information or just notability? as I'm having more than three links to support everything. this is why it became over 10+ plus links. SaneFlint (talk) 22:00, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I sent three links did you see them? but I can't see links comments anymore after pressing to publish?) SaneFlint (talk) 22:06, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I feel like you're more focused on moving your draft to mainspace rather than listening to our feedback. I'd suggest taking a break from editing your draft and explore other sections of Wikipedia. You can begin with newcomer tasks from your Wiki homepage. As you get more familiar with it, you'll learn about the existing policies here. Over time, you'll also gain the technical skills needed to improve your draft. Cheers! Jeraxmoira (talk) 06:19, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

I will leave it for another reviewer I don't think the topic is notable. Theroadislong (talk) 12:04, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong it is notable. very prominent figure in Sind. I think due to English many people couldn't know about him. here everyday many groups and higher level universities professors are writing books about him in urdu and Sindhi. when you search it in urdu as پیر سید احسان اللہ شاہ راشدی
you'll find many sources about him. he and Pir of Pagaro VI both were cousins born in same era. I understand you because for English people it's a bit hard to understand. but this will be a lot for Sind region. nowadays everyone is preferring to use English version of Wikipedia also its getting more adoption as English is oursecond langua;) by the way I appreciate your efforts you've been looking into my work for a while. 🙂 SaneFlint (talk) 12:11, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Pir Alamah Sayyid Ihsanullah Shah Rashdi (November 26)

edit

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Timtrent was: This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: a dozen or so reviews and you are still playing with adjectives. You have created a paean of praise, no an article. While the perosn may be notable you have concealed that behind a load of praise.

I have concluded that this draft has reached end of its road.

We need neutral, flat prose. Dull-but worthy is the tone we aim for.

@Timtrent hi I've made it way netutal also I'm open for more changes. pardon for some errors due to English not being my first language. SaneFlint (talk) 12:26, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent how about you helping me fix article tone ? because I've wrote it in a neutral manner. also fixed many issues asked by editors. SaneFlint (talk) 12:27, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you wish the article to be accepted you must do the work. Even relatively poor English can be accepted, but we will not accept articles that only praise the subject. I have no interest in the topic, my interest is the encyclopaedia. WP:TEAHOUSE may get you offers of help. My firm suggestion is that you star again with a very simple draft that is well referenced 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:39, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent there were no praise but some references from other notable scholars who praised him but it was only used for referencing:(
my draft was very well referenced. i need your help to fix this one really it took me over 3 days to write things. I was complying with other editors they said copyvios reported some things then i had rewritten whole article this morning :( SaneFlint (talk) 12:43, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I will strike out my rejection, but leave the comment. I may also review it 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:45, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent yes please help me I will really appreciate it sir SaneFlint (talk) 12:45, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent ill fix my article under your guidance. some words were used as references I don't have any intention to write any praising article. it was just about historical figures who left impression on millions in Sind. SaneFlint (talk) 12:46, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent can you point me things. like where you see praising sentences ? I assime those were used as referenced from the prominent scholars SaneFlint (talk) 12:45, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
My skills are in reviewing, not editing, but I will take a further look 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:52, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent bro I've wrote about it on teahouse. please take a look there too. hope I wrote correctly.:) SaneFlint (talk) 12:59, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Good. I have added a reply there which I believe will help you. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 13:05, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
An example for you:
He excelled as a scholar at Madirsah Dar-ul-Rashad,established by his father Sayyid Rushdullah Shah Rashdi. Committed to sharia, he meticulously curated and enhanced the library, elevating its status by incorporating valuable works on tafseer, hadith, Al-Kamal fi Asma' al-Rijal, history, and various other fields of knowledge.
This should be simplified:
He studied at Madirsah Dar-ul-Rashad, established by his father Sayyid Rushdullah Shah Rashdi. He curated and enhanced the library, incorporating works on tafseer, hadith, Al-Kamal fi Asma' al-Rijal, history, and various other fields of knowledge.
The second version is far simpler. Please work through the remainder in a similar manner, assuming you agree. I have not saved this suggested change, but I have removed the Researchgate references. Researchgate is a deprecated source. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 13:00, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Thank you. I should also remove those Amritsari and Nadvi reviews I used as reference's? SaneFlint (talk) 13:13, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@SaneFlint I have not studied those two reviews. I suggest the most important thing is to relax and take your time. There is no deadline here.
Start at the top and work down, criticising your work as you go, and simplify everything you can. Take a step away from it and then look at it with the eyes of a reader before even thinking of asking for it to be reviewed again, and only submit for review when you are sure you have done all you possibly can 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 13:24, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Yes I will do that thank you for your words.
also this notability issue Is confusing me as I have put Many major references which talk about that character. I don't know how to make them see notability. hopefully I'll make this whole article as neutral one as you asked me. plus counting on editors hope help will arrive soon. plus I'm patient I won't submit it without asking from editors. especially you as well) t SaneFlint (talk) 13:36, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Always remember that mine is only one opinion, and that I may be wrong.
If you have references that meet this description:
We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS please. See WP:42. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
then there will be no problem with notability.
The correct technique is to let notability shine through by itself. Never try to point a spotlight on it because that will fail. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 13:40, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Yes I would never post self published articles but sources from government/ educational institutions
it seems article tone is very important to be neutral. let's see what other editors do ill let you know:] SaneFlint (talk) 14:03, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Hi. can you now look at my article ? I've changed almost everything thanks again SaneFlint (talk) 15:48, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent does it still sounds Praising tone article ? SaneFlint (talk) 15:49, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think it now stands a chance of survival once accepted. All we need it to have for us to accept it is a better than 50% chance of that survival. Before a further review, to give it a better chance, I would look closely at places where you have used multiple sources for the same fact. Instead we need one excellent reference per fact asserted. If you are sure it is beneficial, two, and at an absolute maximum, three. A fact you assert, once verified in a reliable source, is verified. More is gilding the lily. Please choose the very best in each case of multiple referencing for a single point and either drop or repurpose the remainder. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:21, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent I placed few references because if there might be an issue to accept or recognise from the first one, they can look at 2d 3rd 4th ref. Editor's needs to read books / articles to confirm the notability from references. I have book with me but don't know how I can show pictures which are widespread in Sind region mainly written with urdu and Sindhi translation now Available in English as well about same topic.
how about I can put all references in one place for them to confirm than by putting same ref on some places.
Your assistance made me happy. Thank you for your time. SaneFlint (talk) 18:03, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Yes please further review/look things then I can submit it :) SaneFlint (talk) 18:04, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Please remove the WP:CITEKILL, We do not expect the reader to choose the references, we require editors to do that. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:44, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent I will do that. last question:
I can keep 3 references on each detail or references are max for full page? SaneFlint (talk) 18:52, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Three is an absolute maximum, one is best. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:55, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Some pdf articles like
{{https://archive.org/details/6.syedAhsan}} are acceptable? SaneFlint (talk) 18:57, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
pdf files are perfectly acceptable provided they meet the criteria for references 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:59, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Thank you for your quick response. you're best.
now I'll see which to keep and remove then will let you know:) SaneFlint (talk) 19:00, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent can you check for a moment? I've kept three references in each section. is it OK or I should reduce more:) SaneFlint (talk) 20:03, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Three is acceptable.
There are some red errors in the references section which, ideally, should be corrected 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 20:14, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Now it is an article, not a draft, any editor is entitled to make changes to it. They should justify those changes with an edit summary.
The life of an article may be trouble free, art it may be edited brutally. We depend upon the community to get it right.
Be the article's father, and let it fall over and graze its knees. Do not be its mother and try to protect it from harm. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 08:27, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Exactly. you must be a Nice poett if you try.
one more question. I wanna write names in urdu and Sindhi next to English how it can be done? SaneFlint (talk) 08:32, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have no idea how to do that, I'm sorry.
A firm suggestion is to stand back from it for several days and to watch with interest. On my talk page an editor has expressed surprise that I accepted it. They may choose to use WP:AFD, may choose WP:DRAFTIFY, or may choose neither.
You should read that discussion.
We have to be aware that all of these things are acceptable. We offer our work to Wikipedia, and than have no control over what happens. It is best not to defend things when they go wrong. We fire one shot in defence, fire it well, and then await the decision of the community. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 08:47, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Yes I will wait. Let them see and make changes into article. I'll leave it like this for a while thanks again 🙂 SaneFlint (talk) 08:52, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent He says there are only two or three reference links while he had deleted my other references which you saw last time were all there :) I don't know why he's angry on me I have no issue with anyone with due respect 🙂 SaneFlint (talk) 09:00, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Never, ever take it personally. If they have made deletions, they have made deletions. If they make additions, they make additions. Right now, be an interested spectator, nothing more. That is easy to hear, but hard to do. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 09:15, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

How to handle the AfD

edit

You asked:

Question number 1 where I will need to show those references? in a discussion form?

question number 2. it should be short answer or I should also tell them the reason of submitting it for over 12 times or 10. as I was new here and I thought after submitting it I can calmly make edits while it will be under review thats why I wasted time to submit for over 10 times or even more dozens in a day. my English is second language that's why I had difficulty with changing its praising type tone. and every source I gave were legit which contains real information

The answer to Q1 is that you show it by doing t in the article

The answer to Q2 is that the reviews are now history, and irrelevant. The previous praising tone is now dealt with. This means all you need to deal with is the "Now", the present. All you need to find is references which pass the definition t hat you have now seen more than once. When you have done so, then make your reply, stating that you have edited the article to improve the referencing and prove notability (Assuming they prove notability) 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 20:36, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Timtrent I will be requesting there for an review. but from another editor. how about I can write there tomorrow. tonight I can spend time to fix article also many things were deleted thats why it had some information.
another question is. does wikipedia reject citations + articles written by British citizen + writers? as I was posting Sufi Saints and Pirs of sind book which was published in 1990s.? this book is related about British Raj. I don't know if there is any rule that reject articles from British writers about British Raj.
sorry for taking your much time. I truly appreciate your assistance. your kindness and honesty + neutrality is unmatched to other reviewers. SaneFlint (talk) 20:44, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Tomorrow will be fine. What you need to do is to finish your work, check it, and then state that you have aded references which seek to prove notability. You shoudl use your words, not mine
Wikipedia does not reject any nationality, ethnicity, nor era of referencing. It is concerned only with reliability of the source, independence of the source, and that the coverage is significant (three or more paragraphs abut the topic)
I think the difference between me and some other editors is that I am looking at this from your perspective now. They are looking at it from Wikipedia's perspective. In truth these perspectives are very similar. I accepted the draft (borderline) and now wish to help you understand how to prove it is notable. Others will be happy if you prove it is notable.
No-one is biased against you, even if you might think they are. They are biased for Wikipeda. So am I. I see you as a valuable editor, whatever the outcome of the deletion discussion. I am sure they do as well. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 20:53, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I absolutely agree with what my colleague says here, I will be very happy to be shown that the topic is notable, we are all here to improve Wikipedia after all. Theroadislong (talk) 20:57, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong Same. misunderstanding happens as we all are humans let all of us work to settle things.
bless. SaneFlint (talk) 20:59, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Timtrent Yes exactly I will do that for now working on article just hoping no one will delete my article content before I respond to discussion area. its quite late night here like 01:57am I might be slow but 5 to 10 hours break will make me work properly till then I will slowly make edits

I think I'm set to write my opinion in a section.
just one thing. it should be a big note or short one? SaneFlint (talk) 07:46, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Short, succinct, with Keep as the opening word.
Do not comment on anything except the article's notability as proven by referencing.
Try very hard not to engage in a back and forth discussion. Apart from looking like a game of tennis it distracts from the point you have made 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 08:22, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

^Hello. With due respect to our fellow editors, i dont agree with the deletion. I have updated the article with more references. have added some references in Urdu, which may be challenging for our fellow writers to read or understand. I recommend using Google Translate for this. I'm willing to assist them in a any way to identify problems to solve. English is my second language which is why I had many difficulties while writing an article and submission.^ SaneFlint (talk) 08:28, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, SaneFlint. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Sayyid Ihsanullah Shah Rashdi, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. You are heavily invested in this topic, so it is logical to ask if you have any connection to them? Theroadislong (talk) 08:33, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Theroadislong exactly. I'm into writing about notable religious personalities. that's my main passion as author. I'm expending my knowledge. and thank you for your reminders. I appreciate it🙂 SaneFlint (talk) 08:35, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong No. It's just my passion as an author. I noted a couple of personalities from different regions who are in my target to be written about. some from Punjab, some from Sind and Balochistan. I would love to have your assistance in coming topics. I love to expand the community of Wikipedia SaneFlint (talk) 08:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm MBlaze Lightning. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Khilafat Movement, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. MBlaze Lightning (talk) 03:45, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@MBlaze Lightning thank you ill do that later SaneFlint (talk) 06:34, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@MBlaze Lightning someone was removing old content. I just reverted his work that time SaneFlint (talk) 06:35, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Anybody can remove content, even if old, if it's not cited to sources. And the person whose work you reverted without exercising your own diligence had actually supplanted it with new and reliably sourced information. Perfectly a reasonable thing to do. Yours then was the edit that undone that change without any valid explanation. That is what fits the definition of WP:DE; so please tread carefully. Regards, MBlaze Lightning (talk) 06:49, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@MBlaze Lightning all I had to do was to add references and explanation. thanks again. SaneFlint (talk) 07:54, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Badi' ud-Din Shah al-Rashidi

edit

Hello SaneFlint, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Badi' ud-Din Shah al-Rashidi, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Badi' ud-Din Shah al-Rashidi (2nd nomination).

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Significa liberdade}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

@Significa liberdade hi 👋
I've seen your afd and I think it's a great way to bring it to the lights thru afd, I hope editor's will be able to verify those references subject Is kinda very notable in the sub continent and middle East as well. I feel It wasn't able to survive the previous afd as previous person who creates the article had abandoned it after publishing it with no further changes. now as I took the charge I have wrote all things from the scratch with the backings of references as well;) I feel the previous editor made some mistakes with name spelt as it should be Badiuddin Shah Rashdi, he didn't spelt Badiuddin properly which gives hard time for editors to see things properly to verify. I really hope we will be able to over come this. afd helps article alot. appreciate it 🙂
Best regards

hi
can you help me rename the page name to Sayyid Badiuddin Shah Al-Rashdi
currently it is Badi' ud-Din Shah al-Rashidi which is quite hard to write SaneFlint (talk) 20:05, 10 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
What is the proper name? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 20:22, 10 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Significa liberdade It should be
Sayyid Badiuddin Shah Al-Rashidi or Badiuddin Shah Al-Rashdi SaneFlint (talk) 20:25, 10 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Given the current conversation at AfD, I'm going to leave the name as is for now. If the page is kept following AfD, it can be moved to a new name. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 20:28, 10 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Significa liberdade that will be best. can I provide you four pages names which comes into my attention. Would you feel comfortable bringing any of these articles to AfD? Given that potential sources may be available in other languages (such Arabic or Urdu), I don't feel comfortable stating I've done a good check before submitting it (see WP:BEFORE. @Significa liberdade No its not about being comfortable. I just want every place to be treated equally. many editor's turn blind eyes on such articles which contains no references:)) or references has no mention of subject that's why I shared ): SaneFlint (talk) 20:58, 10 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Subject: Urgent Appeal for Wikipedia Account Reinstatement - SaneFlint

Dear Wikipedia Administrators,

I humbly submit this appeal in earnest acknowledgment of the concerns surrounding my account, SaneFlint. I understand the gravity of the situation and wish to provide a compelling explanation for thoughtful consideration.

I take responsibility for accounts (only) created on my phone by a friend without emails, which were resulting in lose as they were without emails, This situation is akin to lending a licensed gun, where the wielder's actions become my responsibility. I genuinely regret this oversight and assure you that I am fully committed to abiding by Wikipedia's guidelines.

Upon joining Wikipedia, I was a complete newcomer, unaware of certain critical aspects. My sincere goal is to actively contribute to Wikipedia's growth, aligning my actions with the values of this community. I am dedicated to learning from my mistakes and ensuring that my future contributions adhere strictly to the platform's guidelines.

I am committed to clearing my name honorably, rejecting any notion of evading blocks. My loyalty lies with Wikipedia rules, and I seek the opportunity to prove my dedication through positive contributions. The chance to contribute honorably means more to me than any temporary workaround.

"I am eager to contribute meaningfully to Wikipedia by covering topics related to the Sindh region. Discussions in university classes have inspired an independent mentality, and I am committed to translating this inspiration into well-researched and informative articles. If given a second chance, I promise to dedicate myself to creating 5 to 10 different subjects in the coming days also alot in my sight requires fixing, addressing the gaps in coverage. My sincere aim is to add valuable content and showcase the richness of the Sindh region on English Wikipedia. I believe this commitment will demonstrate my genuine intent and contribute positively to the Wikipedia community.

Additionally, I recognize the role of University WiFi in the situation and assure you that, with a clearer understanding, such issues won't recur. I am committed to responsible use and request your consideration in granting me an opportunity to contribute positively to Wikipedia's community.

Your understanding and the chance to rectify my actions are of utmost importance to me. I appreciate your time and consideration in reviewing this appeal.

Thank you for considering my appeal."

Best regards,

( sorry I had to post it again as I was not able to reply on previous section probably due to glitch or block)

Request reason:

Dear Wikipedia admins, I'm here to humbly submit this appeal in earnest acknowledgement of concerns surrounding my account, SaneFlint, I have the importance of the situation and am willing to provide a productive explanation for thoughtful consideration, Let me take responsibility for accounts that were created on my device. Even it was created for a friend but it was my responsibility as it was created on my phone its same like a gun having a license on my name and I let someone else to use my gun for his actions. also, during that time, I wasn't aware of Wikipedia rules and policies, so I fell into that trap, but that's what made me understand rules and get better with that. I genuinely regret anything that happened in the past, which caused my account to suffer. Also, my time and peace were affected because of that mistake, which I believe was last will not happen again. After joining Wikipedia, I was a complete newbie. Who wasn't aware of anything literally nothing even fixing citations hard thing for me. My sincere goal is to actively contribute to the great Wikipedia growth, aligning my actions with the values of this amazing community. I have learnt from my mistakes, and I'm giving my promise that nothing like that will be repeated. Everyone deserves a chance to prove himself, and I am sure I will be able to prove myself. My future contributions adhere to the platform's rules and guidelines, I am more than committed to clearing my name honorably than avoiding blocks by using different internets and computers. I really seek the opportunity to prove myself through positive contributions. The last chance to contribute honorably which means more to me than any temporary workaround. I am eager to contribute meaningfully to Wikipedia by covering topics related to the Sindh region, My sincere aim is to showcase the richness of Sindh history and culture, which I felt is getting very poor courage on Wikipedia, especially on English one. Also by going thru different topics I found articles literally hundreds of articles which were not proper enough to be on Wikipedia. I would work to rebuild them as well. Which was kinda meaningful to me. I was usually using university shared WiFi and public shared internets but anything after all I am responsible and I accept this.

Sometimes accepting mistakes/ taking responsibility than arguing, solves more problems than a argument and disputes. Now my aim is to seek for a second last chance to prove myself nothing like that will happen again anymore. Your greater understanding and chance to rectify my actions are of utmost importance to me. I appreciate your time and consideration in reviewing this appeal, it means alot to me and I will appreciate it. Thank you for considering my appeal , With best regards and wishes.:)
