Image tagging for Image:British_Guyana_flag.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:British_Guyana_flag.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Flag images from Flags of the World

edit

Hi Sanghak. We are not allowed to use images from Flags of the World on Wikipedia! I have marked all images you have uploaded so far with {{FOTWpic}} and they will be deleted as copyright violations within short. Please don't upload any more images from this source. On the other hand, you are very welcome to upload images you made yourself to Wikipedia! --Himasaram 14:08, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Flags from Flag of the World

edit

Sanghak, we're still not allowed to use them. You uploading images with different licenses that you've taken from Flags of the World is not going allow them to stay. You've also updated the Flag of Afghanistan article with some of these flags that are actually worse copies than the ones we current have.  OzLawyer / talk  20:27, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

On 22 November you were asked to stop uploading images from other websites. Since then you have uploaded the following images in addition to the ones I've already flagged for deletion (see below):
I also noticed Image:Afghanistan Colonial Flag.gif, which I guess perhaps you did make by yourself. If this is the best you can come up with, then perhaps it would be a better idea to ask someone else for help by posting a message at Wikipedia:Requested pictures/Graphics. Whatever you do, please stop stealing content from other websites and pretending you made it yourself. It's a waste of your time and everyone else's. -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 01:27, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Just for the record, here are two more I found:
And what about Image:Flag of Barbuda.jpg? Did you make that yourself? -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 10:54, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Update

edit

I have flagged the following images for deletion. If you want to keep them here, please indicate where these images came from. If you created them yourself then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Changes to International football template

edit

I can see what you are trying to do, although I have some reservations about having too many links at the top of the infobox. However, I am not sure whether Asiad and Africand are typos or simply names that I am unfamiliar with. If the latter, I would suggest that they are not widely known at all: the same could be said for the PASO and UNCAF cups. At least the CFU Cup's name states which region it deals with. Expanding the names for clarity, of course, raises the issue of how much space should be taken up at the top of the infobox. I leave it in your hands. Kevin McE 12:42, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Flag of Puntland.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Flag of Puntland.gif. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Non-existent football teams

I rather doubt that some of the "teams" you have recently added to List of men's national football (soccer) teams, such as Antartica, actually exist. Short Article

edit

A tag has been placed on Scarab (solitaire), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to add more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Cmw4117 05:56, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Hawaii national football team

edit

A tag has been placed on Hawaii national football team, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Hawaii is not a nation, therefore it dos not have a "national" football (soccer) team. It used to have a soccer team called Team Hawaii.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sakurambo 桜ん坊 13:41, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adding solitaire games to the list

edit

Please stop adding names at the list of solitaire card games. You have confirm first that those games exist and if there is a verifiable source which I can check out. You're not even observing alphabetical order! No more adding. If you're stubborn, you'll face a permanent block last just as you were reminded last time you are blocked two days ago. - 上村七美 | talk 02:16, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Hawaii national football team) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. John Reaves 02:51, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Block

edit

You have been blocked from editing again. Please do not recreate pages that have been speedily deleted , with the reason explained to you. You were told that "Hawaii national football team" made no sense, yet you continued rto recreate it, the last time with the sole text: "Hawaii Is No Enter CONFUT". This is a waste of time for admins and other editors. Whrn the block expires, you are welcome to enter Wikipedia constructively, but furhter disruptive edits will incur longer blocks. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 05:07, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Quads (solitaire)

edit

A tag has been placed on Quads (solitaire), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

List of men's national football (soccer) teams

edit

Sanghak, please stop adding non-existent football teams to the List of men's national football (soccer) teams article. Today you inserted a link to Palmyra national football team. How can this place possibly have a football team when it only has a population of 4? You also inserted a link to the non-article Hawaii national football team. It has already been explained to you that since Hawaii is not a nation, it cannot have a national team. Please don't insert any more teams into this article without discussing your edits on the talk page first. -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 11:36, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image licensing

When you uploaded Image:Flag of Barbuda.jpg, you claimed to be the creator of this image. However, it seems that you actually copied this image from another website. Please edit the image description to indicate the actual source and provide a fair-use rationale. Otherwise it will be listed for deletion. -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 11:00, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
