Indre Østfold

edit

I have no doubt that you want to improve the article, and you attempts are commendable. However, I have felt the need to revert them. Why? Well:

  1. WP:OWN: no one person writes or "owns" an article. Publishing personal information (e.g. "this article was written by...") is therefore highly discouraged.
  2. WP:EL: external links should be relevant and ideally confined to an "External links section", not spread around the article
  3. WP:ADVERT: Wikipedia is not a travel guide, and does not advertise individual services. Article should avoid promoting any particular entity.
  4. WP:NPOV: Articles should be as objective as possible. Subjective terms ("interesting", "wonderful") are therefore highly discouraged.

You may find WP:YFA a good place to start. With regards to the article, try to expand the sections there already are, and try to follow the guidelines above. If the you have any queries, feel free to post me a message (like this one), by the clicking the "t" in my signature. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 20:43, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm glad to see the article is moving in the right direction. I must advise, however, that you return to a cut down version (for example mine) and then build it up again. Your time would be hence better spent; the article at the moment may well be judged to be too far gone by others and nominated for deletion, which I seek to avoid. Oh, and another link to add to the collection above: WP:CITE. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 21:15, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Canal Lock

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Canal Lock, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Lock (water transport). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:56, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Brekke sluser

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Brekke sluser, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

lacks notability

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Strømsfoss sluse

edit

I have nominated Strømsfoss sluse, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Strømsfoss sluse. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. RadioFan (talk) 22:27, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Water Park

edit

We alreeady have an adequate article, Waterpark, on the same topic. Why do you insist on undoing the redirect to that article? -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 01:03, 29 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Water Amusement Park

edit

A tag has been placed on Water Amusement Park, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Water Amusement Park and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 01:10, 29 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

edit

Please stop. If you continue removing Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Indre Østfold Canal Locks, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 01:17, 29 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your hangon rationale

edit

Here's the problem with the three articles on which you posted a hangon tag:

  1. All three articles are identical. This is a no-no in Wikipedia, since it makes updating a nightmare. Please make redirects instead.
  2. There is no reason why you should have six external links all pointing to the same site within the same article, especially when those links are supposed to be mere examples.
  3. Since the article Waterpark already provides more than enough of the kind of information you are trying to post, and your articles have no information on waterparks other than the one about which you provided an excessive number of links, the article must be regarded as promotional regardless of your intentions.

Nedre Glommaregionen

edit

There was already a stub of an article on the Lower Glomma Region. I have merged your text into that article and turned Nedre Glommaregionen into a redirect. —C.Fred (talk) 02:49, 29 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Since this is in Norwegian, would it not be better at the Norwegian Wikipedia? Very few people who read the English Wikipedia read Norwegian. If you could translate to English, that would be good. Cheers, 14:31, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Herreavdelingen

edit

A tag has been placed on Herreavdelingen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a foreign language article that exists on another Wikimedia project, or was transwikied out to another project. Please see Wikipedia:Translation to learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Nomination of Østfoldbadet for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Østfoldbadet is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Østfoldbadet until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 20:08, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Herreavdelingen

edit

The article Herreavdelingen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence this radio program passes WP:NMEDIA/GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
